VIDEO: Suspect in Connection with Little Caesars Brawl Arrested
Following a week-long search by law enforcement, a suspect who allegedly attacked another individual at a Little Caesars restaurant in Augusta, Georgia, is in custody.
“Records from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office say that 25-year-old Brittany Kennedy was arrested Tuesday,” Fox 5 reported Wednesday.
She was wanted on charges of battery since May 17, when deputies responded to the eatery in reference to a fight.
The brawl happened at about 4:00 p.m. when Kennedy allegedly confronted Emily Broadwater, 22, and pulled a chair out from under her, according to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.
Cellphone video of the incident showed someone pull a toddler away from the two women.
“Move the baby, move the baby!” a person shouted as Broadwater appeared to scream and tried to fight back.
Moments later, she was dragged out the door by her hair and thrown on the sidewalk before the suspect allegedly stomped on her head. When she got up, her face appeared to be covered in blood.
Kennedy reportedly attacked Broadwater once she learned the father of her child had been with the younger woman while Kennedy spent time in jail, the Fox 5 article continued:
After the video of the fight went viral online, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office made Kennedy’s arrest a priority. According to reports, the wanted woman was found in the 300 block of Calvary Drive in Augusta by Richmond County Sheriff Office deputies and agents from the U.S. Marshal’s Office.
The suspect was booked into the Charles B. Webster Detention Center where she was charged with aggravated assault, kidnapping, and criminal damage to property in the second degree, according to Fox News.
“Lt. Glen Rahn told Fox News that Kennedy was charged with kidnapping because she dragged the victim against her will through the threshold of the business to continue the assault,” the outlet said.
Video shows trans teen being slammed to the ground as other students appear to watch
A transgender teen was slammed to the ground in the hallway of her middle school in Florida as other students appeared to watch without coming to her aid, video of the incident showed.
Chad Sanford, 13, told NBC News on Wednesday that she was walking down the hallway of Deerfield Beach Middle School at the end of the school day when an older student started following her.
“I was scared for my life,” the sixth grader said.
The incident occurred about 2:30 p.m. ET on Friday at the Deerfield Beach Middle School, the Broward County Sheriff’s Office confirmed in a statement. It was unclear if authorities were investigating it as a hate crime.
In a video captured by a classmate, Sanford can be seen being picked up by a student and thrown to the ground in her school’s hallway as others appear to watch the scene unfold. The video appeared to show students surrounding Sanford as she was on the ground in a fetal position.
Attempts to reach the student who filmed the incident were unsuccessful Wednesday. NBC News has not been able to confirm what happened before the video started.
Sanford said only one student offered to help as she was taken to the principal’s office to report the incident.
Raquel Showers, Sanford’s aunt, said her niece suffered several headaches after the incident, adding that the damage on her mental health was more severe.
The violent encounter was a breaking point, she said, causing her to have suicidal thoughts.
“I just kept thinking, ‘Why should I be here? Why are you beating me up for being myself?’” she said. “He put me through hell.”
The Broward County Public Schools and Deerfield Beach Middle School did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Wednesday.
A Broward County Public Schools spokesperson told NBC Miami in a statement that the administration would review the incident.
"The school’s leadership is taking this incident seriously and is working with law enforcement in its investigation,” the school district said in a statement. “Any students involved will face appropriate school disciplinary consequences in accordance with the codebook for student conduct."
It was unclear if the student who physically and allegedly verbally harassed Sanford or the students who appeared to watch the incident would face any consequences.
Sanford said she has been bullied since last January. She added that she was most disappointed by the actions, or the lack thereof, of her school.
“They didn’t do anything,” she said. “I wish they, or anyone, did something.”

Commuters, Subway Operator Save Asian Man Thrown Onto Train Tracks in Queens
Commuters and a quick-thinking subway operator saved an Asian man from certain death after he was thrown onto train tracks in Queens in New York on Monday morning.
The incident: Local authorities are looking for the suspect who pushed the 36-year-old victim onto the southbound tracks at the 21st-Queensbridge Station at around 7:45 a.m. just as an F train was arriving, reported NBC Bay Area.
According to witnesses, the suspect approached the man and said something to him before shoving him onto the tracks.
It remains unknown what words were exchanged as the victim only speaks Mandarin.
Subway operator Tobin Madathil said he immediately placed the approaching train into emergency mode after noticing people waving at him, the NY Post reported.
Commuters brought the man back to safety as the train pulled to a stop 30 feet away from him.
The victim, who was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital for treatment, reportedly suffered a laceration on the forehead.
Suspect at large: The NYPD is now looking for the reported suspect, who is said to be between 20-30 years old, about 6 feet tall, and was wearing all-black attire including a face mask, hoodie, pants and shoes on the day of the attack.
The authorities are looking into whether the attack was motivated by race and have released an image of the reported suspect.
The NYPD is offering a reward of up to $3,500 to anyone with information that can lead to the suspect's arrest. Tipsters can call or DM NYPDTips at 800-577-TIPS.
In a statement highlighting the “significant dip in ridership and a spike in crime,” an MTA spokesperson called upon the de Blasio administration to “partner with us and do more to address subway incidents and the ongoing mental health crisis in the city."
Why don't Blacks seem to think Black Lives Matter?
A year ago today, George Floyd, a petty thief with an extensive arrest record, allegedly tried to pass a counterfeit bill in a Minneapolis store. After the police were called to the scene, he resisted arrest, ultimately dying of cardiopulmonary arrest as police officer Derek Chauvin pinned his knee on Floyd's neck, galvanizing the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement.
Meanwhile, over the past weekend, these blaring headlines on shootings of mostly Blacks contradicted the idea that Black lives matter.
Deadliest weekend of the year in Chicago: 12 killed, 42 wounded in shootings
At least six people, including two teens, shot in NYC overnight
In these incidents, and similar ones across the country, the overwhelming majority of the victims were black; the overwhelming majority of the perpetrators were...yes, black. And in St. Louis, which has a black female mayor, this headline blared:
St. Louis Homicide Rate Worst of Large U.S. Cities
Again, the victims and the murderers are disproportionately black.
This pattern is national. FBI statistics indicate that not only are blacks more likely to be crime or homicide victims, but the perpetrator is...no, not an evil white cop or a racist white, but...another black person.
Busy blaming everyone and everything for this dismal state of affairs, the Al Sharptons, the Jesse Jacksons don't confront this truth and deliver it to their followers, inspiring improvement. Why should they? Blaming others, refusing responsibility is much easier. And certainly more lucrative.
And so, as anniversary ceremonies commemorate Floyd's death and its destructive aftermath ironically, support for the BLM movement itself has decreased. The reasons are many but, certainly, the black-on-black crime rate and the cowardly failure of so-called black leaders to address the issue are factors.
Meanwhile, the innocents continue to suffer.
