JOE BIDEN AND THE MUSLIMS - REMINDS ONE THAT LAWYERS TEND TO BE AMORAL SOCIOPATHS AND A SERIOUS THREAT TO AMERICAN DEMOCRACY AS WE KNEW IT

Memorial Day and the War on the Home Front

If the men in Arlington Cemetery were alive today, what would they see - and say?

My brother-in-law George is a retired cop who’s married to the widow of a man who died in Vietnam.

The last time we were together, he asked me, with a touch of sadness, “What was it all for?” I knew what he meant, and I thought of the graves in military cemeteries representing 246 years of lives lost and blood spilled to defend America.

Between 1775 and 2019, 666,441 Americans died in combat from Concord to Kabul.

But that’s only part of the honor roll of sacrifice and heroism. There are the soldiers who survived but came home bearing physical or psychological wounds – in some cases suffering for the rest of their lives. And there are the widows, orphans and gold-star families.

All of this should occasion an outpouring of gratitude. It still does in some quarters, but less every year.

On paper, we have a military second to none – a defense budget of $693 billion in 2019 (36% of the world’s military spending), an active-duty force of 1.35 million, with 800,000 in the reserves, 800 military bases outside the United States, ships, planes, tanks and missiles that could rock the planet.

In 1939, when World War II started in Europe, our army was ranked 19th in the world, smaller than Portugal’s. Three years later, we had mobilized to fight a two-front war. By 1945, our enemies had been reduced to rubble. Germany signed terms of unconditional surrender in Reims and the USS Missouri steamed into Tokyo bay.

Then, we rebuilt Germany and Japan, kept the peace in Europe, fought off totalitarian onslaughts in Korea and Vietnam and went to war with jihadist terrorism in the Middle East.

And yet. And yet. Where are we today?

We have the weakest president in my lifetime. Given that I lived through Gerald Ford and Jimmy Carter, that’s saying a lot.

The greatest international threat to our security is Communist China., Not only does the President refuse to confront Beijing, but his family seems to be in the PRC’s pocket. Imagine that, prior to Pearl Harbor, one of FDR’s kids got hundreds of thousands in “consulting fees” from Nazi Germany.

Lenin said capitalists would sell Bolsheviks the rope they used to hang us.  At the Wuhan lab we subsidized China’s development of bio weapons which killed 600,000 Americans.

After 10 days of fighting between Israel and the Palestinian terrorists, Secretary of State Antony Blinken said we must treat our best friend in the region and a gang sworn to our destruction with something approaching parity. We’re going to lead an international effort to rebuild Gaza, while Israel awaits the next Hamas offensive.

Defending America is about more than guns and bombs. Thanks to the radical Left’s control of both this administration and the culture, anti-Americanism (a treason chic) is the new normal.

Critical race theory – “systemic racism,” “white privilege,” the urgent need for “racial equity” – is taking over our educational institutions, from public schools to colleges and universities.

Under Biden, the U.S. military is training recruits to loathe the nation they’re expected to defend.  Earlier this month, Lt. Col. Matthew Lohmeier was relieved of command of a unit of the U.S. Space Force for speaking out about critical race theory’s rapid advance in our armed forces.

Lohmeier – who will soon be in charge of a weather monitoring station in Greenland – told an interviewer that the “intensive teaching that I heard at my base (claimed) that at the time the country ratified the United States Constitution, it codified white supremacy as the law of the land.” If you disagreed with that, you condemned yourself as a racist.

This complements the on-going purge of patriots from the military, with monitoring for extremism and the so-called Capitol Hill insurrection as the excuses.

In Biden’s new action army, we also have transgenderism inclusiveness training (“Before I take that hill, Sarge, I need to ask --Which pronoun do you prefer?”), the fight against Islamophobia, so-called, and the president of the United States boasting about flight suits for pregnant pilots.

On the home front, there’s the war on the police that’s turned our cities into shooting galleries with urban homicide rates soaring in the wake of police budgets slashed and following last year’s “mostly peaceful” protests.

While killing domestic energy production, Biden just approved the pipeline which will carry Russian oil to Europe. The president thinks national security is irrelevant, unless there’s a way for Hunter to make money off it.

The border is wide open, with a tidal wave of gang members, guns and drugs flowing in. While Alejandro Mayorkas, the standup comic who heads Homeland Security, assures us that the border is closed (who are you going to believe, me or your lying eyes?), the man Biden picked to run the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms wants to shred the Second Amendment. And the social media giants that helped elect Sleepy Joe want to eviscerate the First Amendment – even banning the last president of the United States.

If the men in Arlington Cemetery were alive today, they would look in dumb disbelief at what America has become in the third century after our founding.

Let’s honor the men who made the ultimate sacrifice for a country that no longer exists -- and those who may be called upon to do so themselves to get it back.

Memorial Days of Biden and Barry

Aversion to victory, kindness to deserters, strength through “diversity,” and mass murder of American soldiers as “workplace violence.”

The last American president with actual combat experience, in a conflict where the United States proved victorious, was George H.W. Bush. During World War II, Bush served as a pilot with Torpedo Squadron 51 (VT-51) and on his 58th mission he was shot down by the Japanese and rescued by a U.S. submarine.

Joe Biden never served in the military but from 2008-2016 he was vice president to the composite character David Garrow described in Rising Star: The Making of Barack Obama. The former Barry Soetoro never served, and for the Obama-Biden team, the role of the U.S. military was not to defeat America’s enemies.

“Troops risking their lives need to be told that their goal is to ‘defeat’ those trying to kill them,” former Secretary of State Robert Gates explained in Duty: Memoirs of a Secretary of State at War. But when Gen. Stanley McChrystal announced a counterinsurgency strategy in Afghanistan, Obama national security advisor Tom Donilon “bridled,” and blasted the U.S. military as “in revolt” and “insubordinate.”  As it happens, Donilon was an advisor to Joe Biden’s first presidential campaign in 1988, and in 2012 Donilon orchestrated the move to put Biden at the head of China policy.

The previous year, Obama ordered SEAL Team Six to take out al Qaeda terrorist Osama bin Laden. Vice president Biden opposed the raid on bin Laden, and his boss did not always take a hard line on terrorists.

Back in 2009 in Afghanistan, Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl deserted his outpost and wound up in custody of the Taliban. In 2014, the composite character president traded Bergdahl for five Taliban commanders held at Guantanamo Bay. They included Mohammed Fazi, who massacred minority Shiites; Khairullah Khairkhwa, close to Taliban founder Mullah Omar and Osama bin Laden; and Abdul Haq Wasiq, the Taliban’s deputy intelligence minister and close confidant of Mullah Omar.

Once freed, they joined the Taliban’s political office in Qatar. In effect, the Obama-Biden team traded Pvt. Slovik for the German high command. Also worth recalling is the Obama-Biden response to terrorist attacks on American soil.

On November 5, 2009 at Ford Hood, Texas, U.S Army Maj. Nidal Hasan murdered 13 unarmed American soldiers, including Pvt. Francheska Velez, who pleaded for the life of her unborn child. Maj. Hasan, a psychiatrist and self-described “Soldier of Allah,” wounded more than 30 others, yelling “Allahu akbar” as he fired.

For the composite character president, this was not Islamic terrorism or mass murder. The president called it “workplace violence,” not even gun violence. The victims included African Americans such as Sgt. Alonzo Lunsford, who took seven bullets from Hasan, but the president never decried the attack as racism.

Hasan got better medical treatment that his victims, and in 2014 the composite character president refused to meet with Lunsford. If any American soldier thought the composite character president was unfit to serve as commander-in-chief it would be hard to blame them.

For vice president Joe Biden the terrorist mass murder at Ford Hood was a “senseless tragedy” and the Delaware Democrat hailed “the brave soldiers who fell.” No word of how, exactly, the soldiers “fell,” nor any hint that the terrorist mass murder could easily have been prevented.

As Lessons from Fort Hood explains, Hasan’s radical Islam was on full display during his training at Walter Reed Medical Center. The FBI was aware of Hasan’s communications with al Qaeda terrorist Anwar al-Awlaki about killing Americans. The Washington office of the FBI called off the surveillance and took no action against Hasan before his mass murder of American soldiers. As they might wonder, who gave the order? Robert Mueller was FBI boss at the time. What did the president know, and when did he know it?

According to A Promised Land, released by the composite character in November, 2020, “Disaster struck our military, this time closer to home.” So it wasn’t Muslim terrorist Nidal Hasan who struck the 13 American soldiers. Only “disaster” struck, and only “closer to home,” an odd description for a military base in an American state.

There were “early indications” that the Department of Defense the FBI and Joint Terrorism Task Force had all been alerted, in one way or another, to Hasan’s “possible drift toward radicalism.” So maybe the “soldier of Allah” wasn’t a radical Islamic terrorist after all, and “insurgency-information sharing systems had failed to connect the dots in a way that might have headed off the tragedy.”

So it was “systems” that failed, not actual people in command, and the systems “might” have headed off what was only a “tragedy,” not a terrorist mass murder. These classic lies and distortions, likely the work of “Obama’s narrator” David Axelrod, betoken a dynamic already in place at the time.

Shortly after the Fort Hood massacre, Army Chief of Staff Gen. George Casey proclaimed, “As great a tragedy as this was, it would be a shame if our diversity became a casualty as well.” In a February 2010 interview, Casey said “our diversity—not only in our Army, but in our country, is a strength.”

By all indications, diversity includes Islamic jihadists plotting to kill American soldiers. Such jihadists must be left alone, lest diversity should suffer. As it happens, kindness to Islamic terrorists and their state sponsors continues under Joe Biden.

In 2016, four Iranian gunboats captured 10 U.S. Navy sailors, who “surrendered rather than opening fire.” Vice president Joe Biden told CBS News, “there was no looking for any apology. This was just standard nautical practice.” It wasn’t “standard practice” to send planeloads of cash to Iran’s “death to America” regime, but Biden had no problem with it. Biden also criticized President Trump for taking out Iranian terrorist Qassem Soleimani, and the Delaware Democrat also has a soft spot for China’s Communist dictatorship.

According to Biden, the Chinese Communists are “not bad folks,” and Biden criticized President Trump for taking out Iranian terrorist Qassem Soleimani. The task of the military is now to enforce “wokeness,” so Biden touts “body armor that fits women properly, tailoring combat uniforms for women, creating maternity flight suits, updating requirements for their hairstyles.”

Joe Biden, did not explain how these moves improve the ability of the U.S. military to defeat America’s enemies. As George Will put it, going into combat with less than your very best is like playing poker with the second-best hand. You have two choices: bluff or fold.

In a showdown with China or Iran, Biden’s handlers would doubtless urge him to fold. On the home front, the murder of 13 American soldiers by an Islamic jihadist would be nothing more than a tragedy, and a threat to diversity.

In 2020, Joe Biden called female college student a “lying dog-faced pony soldier,” told African Americans “you ain’t black” if they failed to support him, and was often unsure of his own location. American soldiers, who put their lives on the line, might find it hard to think of anyone less fit to serve as their commander-in-chief. For Americans and their allies, the struggle against white flag supremacy is the struggle of memory against forgetting.

PIG DICTATOR ERDOGAN IS MIDDLE MAN FOR DRUGS MOVED FROM VENEZUELA THROUGH TURKEY HEADED FOR EUROPE. PIG EROGAN IS TAKING HIS PERCENTAGE AND EAGER TO  COMPLETE THE MUSLIM CONQUEST OF EUROPE.

THE CATHEDRAL OF HAGIA SOPHIA WAS BUILT BY CHRISTIAN SOVEREIGNS JUSTIN AND THEODORA.

The Hagia Sophia: A 'Center of Knowledge about Islam'?

Last summer, Turkish authorities transformed Hagia Sophia ("Holy Wisdom") — which was originally built, and for a millennium functioned, as one of Christendom's greatest cathedrals — into a mosque (again).  On that Friday, July 24, 2020 (which for millions of Eastern Christians is now deemed a "day of mourning"), Muslims met inside the desecrated church, where they were led in prayer by a sword-waving imam, to spasmodic cries of "Allahu akbar."

The Turks, beginning with their president, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, have been presenting this bit of cultural appropriation as their "right."  Imam Ali Erbas, Turkey's president of religious affairs, has gone one farther, claiming that "the goal is for all our mosques and especially Hagia Sophia to become centers of knowledge about Islam."

So be it.  As the anniversary of the Turkish conquest of Constantinople and its Hagia Sophia recently passed (May 29, 1453), let us revisit what happened on that day — a day that truly does impart much "knowledge about Islam," not least because we have primary source documents describing exactly what the Turks did, particularly in and around Hagia Sophia.  (All quoted text in the following narrative was derived from contemporary sources, mostly eyewitnesses; exact references can be found in chapter 7 of Sword and Scimitar.)

Once they had penetrated inside Constantinople, the "enraged Turkish soldiers ... gave no quarter":

When they had massacred and there was no longer any resistance, they were intent on pillage and roamed through the town stealing, disrobing, pillaging, killing, raping, taking captive men, women, children, old men, young men, monks, priests, people of all sorts and conditions[.] ... There were virgins who awoke from troubled sleep to find those brigands standing over them with bloody hands and faces full of abject fury[.] ... [The Turks] dragged them, tore them, forced them, dishonored them, raped them at the cross-roads and made them submit to the most terrible outrages[.] ... Tender children were brutally snatched from their mothers' breasts and girls were pitilessly given up to strange and horrible unions, and a thousand other terrible things happened[.]

Because thousands of citizens had fled to and were holed up in Hagia Sophia, the ancient basilica offered an excellent harvest of slaves once its doors were axed down:

One Turk would look for the captive who seemed the wealthiest, a second would prefer a pretty face among the nuns. ... Each rapacious Turk was eager to lead his captive to a safe place, and then return to secure a second and a third prize. ... Then long chains of captives could be seen leaving the church and its shrines, being herded along like cattle or flocks of sheep.

The slavers sometimes fought each other to the death over "any well-formed girl," even as many of the latter "preferred to cast themselves into the wells and drown rather than fall into the hands of the Turks."

Having taken possession of the Hagia Sophia — which at the time of its capture had served as a cathedral for a thousand years — the invaders "engaged in every kind of vileness within it, making of it a public brothel."  On "its holy altars" they enacted "perversions with our women, virgins, and children," including "the Grand Duke's daughter who was quite beautiful."  She was forced to "lie on the great altar of Hagia Sophia with a crucifix under her head and then raped."

Next "they paraded the [Hagia Sophia's main] Crucifix in mocking procession through their camp, beating drums before it, crucifying the Christ again with spitting and blasphemies and curses.  They placed a Turkish cap ... upon His head, and jeeringly cried, 'Behold the god of the Christians!'"

Practically all other churches in the ancient city suffered the same fate.  "The crosses which had been placed on the roofs or the walls of churches were torn down and trampled."  The Eucharist was "thrown to the ground and kicked."  Bibles were stripped of their gold or silver illuminations before being burned.  "Icons were without exception given to the flames."  Patriarchal vestments were placed on the haunches of dogs; priestly garments were placed on horses.

"Everywhere there was misfortune, everyone was touched by pain" when Sultan Muhammad finally made his grand entry into the city.  "There were lamentations and weeping in every house, screaming in the crossroads, and sorrow in all churches; the groaning of grown men and the shrieking of women accompanied looting, enslavement, separation, and rape."

The sultan rode to Hagia Sophia, dismounted, and went in, "marveling at the sight" of the grand basilica.  After having it cleansed of its crosses, statues, and icons — Muhammad himself knocked over and trampled on its main altar — he ordered a muezzin to ascend the pulpit and sound "their detestable prayers," wrote a disgruntled Christian.  "Then this son of iniquity, this forerunner of Antichrist, mounted upon the Holy Table to utter forth his own prayers," thereby "turning the Great Church into a heathen shrine for his god and his Mahomet."

To cap off his triumph, Muhammad had the "wretched citizens of Constantinople" dragged before his men during evening festivities and "ordered many of them to be hacked to pieces, for the sake of entertainment."  The rest of the city's population — as many as forty-five thousand — were hauled off in chains to be sold into Easter captivity.

Such is the "knowledge about Islam" that the Hagia Sophia's experiences truly impart.

Setting the record straight concerning the conquest of Constantinople, as this article has done, is doubly important now that Google and Big Tech are, like the Turks, devoted to hiding the truth of this day.  Before Turkey violently transformed the Hagia Sophia into a mosque, googling the date "May 29" — a day that for centuries before Pearl Harbor "lived in infamy" — produced numerous search results on the Muslim conquest of Constantinople; today, very few do.

The Jerusalem Jihad, Same as It Ever Was

"If we searched the entire world for a person, more cowardly, despicable, weak and feeble in psyche, mind, ideology and religion, we would not find anyone like the Jew.  Notice, I do not say the Israeli." —Hassan Nasrallah

Israel finds itself in a cycle of endless small wars due to four political illusions — strategic errors, really.

THE TEMPLE MOUNT

Starting in 1948, the struggle against Israel was about religion — and imprudent tolerance.  When the IDF recovered Jerusalem, twice, in fact, Israel should have done what any Muslim, Arab, Persian, or Ottoman victor would have done: remove or relocate adversarial symbols of religious submission.  The Al Aqsa Mosque, built over the ruins of the Jewish temple by Umayyad Calif Abd al-Malik, is a permanent beacon, a signature of Islamic privilege.  Yet the Jewish temple on the same spot in Jerusalem has a pedigree that precedes Islam by millennia.

After serial defeats, Islam still has its mosque and its "Dome of the Rock" fictions — centrifugal symbols that motivate local and global jihad terror at the expense, to be sure, of Jewish culture, security, safety, peace, and sovereignty.

Wars with, and within, Islam are underwritten by the fusion of realpolitik and toxic religion.  For Islamists, separation of church and state is a sacrilege cultivated by Jews, like-minded infidels, heretics, and apostates.

A case on point might be the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul: originally built as a Christian cathedral by Justinian in 537 A.D.; seized by the Ottomans in 1453 A.D. and converted to a mosque; rebranded as a museum by Atatürk in 1933; and now reopened as a mosque by a modern neo-Ottoman, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Symbol and significance matter.

Over time, the Christian Church in Turkey, once the majority religion, was systematically extinguished by political atrocity and Islamic intolerance.  Today, Sunni and Shia zealots are united in their quest to see that Jews and Judaism suffer a similar fate in the Levant.

THE TROJAN HORSE

From the start, the modern state of Israel has been beset by enemies from without.  Indeed, the Mideast has been a bad neighborhood for non-Muslims since Mohamed's time.  Israel now has to deal with an internal Arab-Muslim citizen demographic that may hold the balance of domestic secular power.

If Al Aqsa is a brick-and-mortar Trojan Horse in the heart of the Jewish state, the real threat is the Jerusalem jihad, those 1.5 million so-called "Palestinian" Arab-Israelis, a Sunni demographic that would never tolerate a like number of Jews in their midst should they have the upper hand.

Ironically, as Islamofascists like Hezb'allah and Hamas assume more local control, a second Holocaust is as near as any certainty can be.  Talk of wiping Israel and Jews off the face of the map is not empty rhetoric; it is the lynchpin, the objective, for Palestinian, Shia, and Sunni zealots worldwide.

No subject, at home and abroad, unites Muslims so well as Jew-hate.

GAZA GOATS

In spite of formidable military prowess and exceptional national courage, Israel has always tried to temper victory with justice.  Modern Israel, in part a nation of immigrants, is always sensitive to charges of "imperialism," a slander more appropriate for historical and modern Islam than Judaism.  Conquest, proselytizing, forced conversions, and related atrocities are Islamic, not Judaic values.

From 1948 to 1967, the Gaza strip was occupied and administered by Egypt, yet Cairo never granted Palestinians Egyptian citizenship.  After the 1967 Arab attack against Israel, the IDF took the Sinai and Gaza from Egypt.  Under Israeli control, between 1967 and 1982, the Gaza Strip had a growth rate that averaged 10% per annum.

In the interests of peace with Egypt, the Sinai was returned to Egyptian control, but Cairo never had any illusions about the Muslim Brotherhood or the Palestinian tar baby.  After the Oslo accords of 1993, Israel ceded administrative control of the West Bank and Gaza to the Palestinian Authority (née PLO), again in the interests of a permanent peace.

In short order, a rift developed between the P.A. on the West Bank and Hamas in Gaza.  The PLO and Hamas are joined only by terror and virulent religious bigotry.  Hamas, now allied with Shia Hezb'allah, is poised to take complete control in Arab Palestine, another certainty if de jure Palestine ever holds another election.

By granting measured political autonomy to Gaza, Israel enabled the "two state" fiction, an Arab fantasy where Israel would be flanked on two sides by fratricidal attack dogs dedicated to the demise of Israel.

Hamas does not recognize Israel's right to exist.

Withal, Arab Palestine has never been able to take yes for an answer, and now politics has been hijacked by religious jihad and political terror – again at Israel's expense.

Palestinian autonomy, once a peace offering, is now the dagger pointed at the heart of Zion.

THE TWO-STATE FICTION

Reality is a bitter pill even on a good day.

Unlike the Arabs, many Israelis could never accept the facts of modern Palestinian culture, a Petri dish of discontent and sedition.  Religious jihad today is as much a threat to Arab tribal totalitarians as it is to the state of Israel.  While keeping Palestinians at arm's length, Arab neighbors use the West Bank and Gaza Arabs as confrontation proxies.  Palestinians are in every sense sacrificial goats — permanent Muslim patsies at best, front-line cannon fodder at worst.

Every janissary, dictator, or Muslim autocrat is, alas, hostage to a persistent mujahedeen threat.  Keeping the Israeli-Palestinian conflict alive serves several Muslim interests, inclinations, and prejudices — and policy worldwide.  Israel was always naïve to think that it could cut a deal with local jihad proxies while the Jerusalem trophy and the Temple Mount were in play.

Any thought of legitimizing a nation, like Palestine, on two Israeli borders is a triumph of hope over experience.  "Two states" has never been the solution — only a toxic problem.  A Palestinian state is a recipe for national suicide and another Jewish holocaust.

GRIM HORIZONS

Over time, there are few silver linings in the clouds over Israel.  Today is no exception.  Clearly, Muslim zealots see the 2021 sea change in Washington politics as a golden opportunity to roll back the Abraham Accords and related progress in Arab-Israeli relations.  The Biden/Harris administration is likely to minimize or ignore the Trump initiatives and return to the recidivist apologetics of the Obama era.  The smoke hardly cleared from the latest Jerusalem jihad when the Biden White House assured Palestinians, and Hamas, that America would rebuild anything that Israel's Defense Force had destroyed.  Thus, Muslim attacks from without and within Israel are now motivated or incentivized, in part, by post-conflict American support and largesse.  Any idea that humanitarian aid can go to Palestinians without Hamas taking a butcher's cut is just another fantasy.

In the West Bank and Gaza, we now have a perfect storm where terror, corruption, and jihad meet at the merge.  Islamic terror and Palestinian corruption are subsidized by the United States again — self-fulfilling prophecies underwritten by American tax monies.

Over time, the Palestinian question was so central to Arab politics that the P.A. or Hamas had the power to kill any initiative that improved relations with Israel.  The Abraham Accords were a benchmark of sorts to the extent that they canceled the Palestinian "veto."

Feckless, if not reckless, American policy now gives veto power back to Hamas, a neo-national terror state.  The Jerusalem jihad has new life in 2021, again at Israel's expense.

Mexico, cartels are hunting down police at their homes

MARK STEVENSON
·4 min read

MEXICO CITY (AP) — The notoriously violent Jalisco cartel has responded to Mexico’s “hugs, not bullets” policy with a policy of its own: The cartel kidnapped several members of an elite police force in the state of Guanajuato, tortured them to obtain names and addresses of fellow officers and is now hunting down and killing police at their homes, on their days off, in front of their families.

It is a type of direct attack on officers seldom seen outside of the most gang-plagued nations of Central America and poses the most direct challenge yet to President Andrés Manuel López Obrador's policy of avoiding violence and rejecting any war on the cartels.

But the cartel has already declared war on the government, aiming to eradicate an elite state force known as the Tactical Group which the gang accuses of treating its members unfairly.

“If you want war, you'll get a war. We have already shown that we know where you are. We are coming for all of you,” reads a professionally printed banner signed by the cartel and hung on a building in Guanajuato in May.

“For each member of our firm (CJNG) that you arrest, we are going to kill two of your Tacticals, wherever they are, at their homes, in their patrol vehicles,” the banner read, referring to the cartel by its Spanish initials.

Officials in Guanajuato — Mexico's most violent state, where Jalisco is fighting local gangs backed by the rival Sinaloa cartel — refused to comment on how many members of the elite group have been murdered so far.

But state police publicly acknowledged the latest case, an officer who was kidnapped from his home on Thursday, killed and his body dumped on a highway.

Guanajuato-based security analyst David Saucedo said there have been many cases.

“A lot of them (officers) have decided to desert. They took their families, abandoned their homes and they are fleeing and in hiding,” Saucedo said. “The CJNG is hunting the elite police force of Guanajuato.”

Numbers of victims are hard to come by, but Poplab, a news cooperative in Guanajuato, said at least seven police officers have been killed on their days off so far this year. In January, gunmen went to the home of a female state police officer, killed her husband, dragged her away, tortured her and dumped her bullet-ridden body.

Guanajuato has had the highest number of police killed of any Mexican state since at least 2018, according to Poplab. Between 2018 and May 12, a total of 262 police have been killed, or an average of about 75 officers each year — more than are killed by gunfire or other assaults on average each year in the entire United States, which has 50 times Guanajuato’s population.

The problem in Guanajuato has gotten so bad that the state government published a special decree on May 17 to provide an unspecified amount of funding for protection mechanisms for police and prison officials.

“Unfortunately, organized crime groups have shown up at the homes of police officers, which poses a threat and a greater risk of loss of life, not just for them, but for members of their families,” according to the decree.

“They have been forced to quickly leave their homes and move, so that organized crimes groups cannot find them,” it reads.

State officials refused to describe the protection measures, or comment on whether officers were to be paid to rent new homes, or if there were plans to construct special secure housing compounds for them and their families.

“This is an open war against the security forces of the state government,” Saucedo noted.

López Obrador campaigned on trying to deescalate the drug conflict, describing a “hugs, not bullets” approach to tackle the root causes of crime. Since taking office in late 2018, he has avoided openly confronting cartels, and even released one capo to avoid bloodshed, saying he preferred a long-range policy of addressing social problems like youth unemployment that contribute to gang membership.

But former U.S. Ambassador Christopher Landau said in April that López Obrador views the fight against drug cartels “as a distraction ... So he has basically adopted an agenda of a pretty laissez-faire attitude towards them, which is pretty troubling to our government, obviously.”

Texas Attorney General: Biden Giving Economic Stimulus to Cartels Through Immigration Policy

(CNSNews.com) – Despite what DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas told Congress on Wednesday, the border is not closed, and there are almost triple the number of illegals coming across the border than there were a year ago, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said Thursday.

“You and I were down there a month ago, and I just was in Laredo two days ago. It’s nowhere near closed. The numbers are almost triple those coming across that they were just a year ago. So we know the border is not closed. It is a massive influx of immigrants that have been invited here and really to the benefit of the cartels,” Paxton told Fox Business’s “Mornings with Maria Bartiromo.”

“As you saw, the cartels are the really the only ones absolutely benefiting. They are charging in Laredo actually more than they’re charging where you and I were - about double, about $8,000 per person. The numbers are amazing, and the incentives that Biden is giving the cartels to bring more people, it's just hard to believe,” he said.

The attorney general said that Customs and Border Patrol officers told him it costs $729 per child per day to house unaccompanied minors at the CBP facility in Donna, Texas.

“You may be the only one that’s actually gotten into the Donna facility, the only reporter, and you saw it,” Paxton told host Maria Bartiromo. “We asked the question while I was there, what’s this costing us, and they told us $729 per day per kid. There’s 1500 kids. That’s $400 million just for that one facility.

“I can’t imagine the Ritz-Carlton costing that much, and as you noticed, it wasn't quite the Ritz-Carlton. It was a tent with bunk beds and a few TVs. It’s hard to imagine it cost that much, so I can see why the Biden administration is asking for more money. That’s just one facility,” he said.

“We have them in Texas in Midland. We have them in San Antonio. We have them in Dallas. They’re all over the country, so they need more money. They should be spending money on the border, and yet that's not where the money is going,” the attorney general said.

Paxton said he asked CBP officers where the unaccompanied children are sent to, and they said that 80 percent of them are sent to relatives who live in the United States, but the attorney general doesn’t believe that. He thinks the Biden administration is purposely sending migrant kids to states led by Republican governors so that they will have to cover the costs of taking care of them.

“When we were there together, Maria, I was trying to ask them where do the kids go. They said 80% of them have family members to go with. I don't believe that. That's hard to believe these Central American kids that we saw, 80% of them have relatives here that are close enough to take,” the attorney general said.

“My guess is they’re just being dropped off in red states, and the goal is to destabilize our states by making those costs ours, because as you've said, there's law enforcement costs, and I think a lot of the kids are tied to the cartels. They’re identified with the cartels. They’re brought here by the cartels and they’re moved around by the cartels,” he said.

“So they are tied to them, which means more crime, but then we also have cost of education, health care, just all kinds of costs to the state that we will not be helped on, and I think that's part of what Biden is trying to do, Paxton added.

The attorney general said if you polled the cartels, “they would be 100% in favor” of Biden’s immigration policy, “because this is economic stimulus – which I know Joe Biden likes, but he’s giving it to the cartels.”

He said he’s “not surprised” that Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris don’t want to go to the border, “because they do not want to highlight what's going on.”

“They do not want to talk to Border Patrol. They do not want to talk to the sheriffs. They do not want to talk to state police. They do not want to talk to local city officials from Laredo, because they will all say the same things,” Paxton said.

“The policies that Trump implemented - whether it was stay in Mexico, whether it was stop the catch and release, whether it was building the wall - they worked. None of these policies work. They match what Obama did four years ago, and they are unsuccessful, not in terms of actually stopping illegal immigration,” he added.

Biden Budget Restores Aid to Palestinians, Halted by Trump over Terror

President Joe Biden’s massive $6 trillion budget proposal for the 2022 fiscal year includes hundreds of millions of dollars in restored aid to the Palestinians, some of which President Donald Trump had suspended over concerns about Palestinian support for terror.

In a statement Friday, the State Department noted:

The budget request funds assistance programs and humanitarian aid for Palestinians, including support for the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). The United States will maintain steadfast support for Israel as the Administration renews relations with Palestinian leadership, restores economic and humanitarian assistance for Palestinians, and works to advance freedom, prosperity, and security for the Israeli and Palestinian people alike.

The precise amount of funding was unclear, but Secretary of State Tony Blinken said last week in a visit to the Palestinian Authority (PA) leadership in Ramallah that the U.S. is in the process of sending $360 million in aid to the Palestinians.

Trump had cut aid to UNRWA over concerns that it fosters anti-Israel propaganda, and had also cut U.S. funding to the PA because of its “pay to slay” policy of giving stipends to Palestinian terrorists in Israeli jail or to the families of dead terrorists. The latter funding is prohibited by U.S. law under the Taylor Force Act of 2018; the Times of Israel reports that the PA may try to adjust its program of terrorist stipends so it does not conflict with the U.S. law, though it is not clear exactly how. The funding to UNRWA is under executive discretion and Biden had promised to restore it before the recent war broke out.

Biden has also promised to re-open a U.S. consular in Jerusalem specifically to cater to the Palestinians, currently dealt with by the embassy, and may also re-open the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) in Washington, DC, which was shut by Trump after the Palestinians took Israel to the International Criminal Court, a violation of conditions set down in U.S. law.

Much of the new aid will be directed toward rebuilding parts of Gaza damaged in the recent war with Israel, though it is not clear how to prevent that funding from flowing through the hands of the terrorist group Hamas, which rules the territory. Much funding will be handled by USAID Director Samantha Power, an official notorious for her past hostility to Israel.
