Vice President Kamala Harris will finally visit the border according to a new report, giving in to outside political pressure from Republicans.

Harris is expected to visit El Paso, Texas, on Friday, just days before President Donald Trump’s planned visit, according to Politico reporter Daniel Lippman.

Trump is expected to visit the border next Wednesday with House Republicans and Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX).

He announced his visit last Tuesday.

“What Biden and Harris have done, and are continuing to do on our border, is a grave and willful dereliction of duty,” Trump said in a statement. “My visit will hopefully shine a spotlight on these crimes against our Nation—and show the incredible people of ICE and Border Patrol that they have our unshakeable support.”

Since she was first appointed by Biden to lead the administration’s response on the border crisis, Harris has gone 91 days without visiting the border.

During her trip to Guatemala and Mexico, Harris struggled with questions about visiting the border, describing it as a “grand gesture” she would avoid.

A contentious exchange with NBC reporter Lester Holt only further embarrassed Harris after she flippantly noted, “I haven’t been to Europe.”

At the end of her trip, she finally acknowledged she would visit the border “at some point” in the future.

GOP’s Populist Caucus to Join Donald Trump on Border June 30

The populist Republican Study Committee (RSC) will be joining former President Donald Trump when he visits the border on June 30.

“President Trump spent four years fixing the border,” said a June 23 statement from Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN), who heads the caucus of like-minded conservative Republicans within the GOP. He continued:

But the Biden administration broke it again, and we are now experiencing the worst border crisis in our history. That’s why the RSC has made carrying on the Trump legacy on immigration our top priority this Congress and why we are heading to the border with President Trump to explain how we can end this national embarrassment.

The committee is pushing the business-dominated GOP caucus to adopt policies that would lead to lower- migration and higher wages. An April 12 strategy memo from Banks said:

The Biden Immigration Agenda sacrifices the interests of the American People in order to serve the interests of foreign citizens, criminal cartels, and ultra-wealthy multinational corporations. Biden’s agenda rejects responsible limits and controls on the number of people entering the country.

We, as members of the Republican Study Committee, on behalf of all Americans who believe in the rule of law and the fundamental rights of our people, condemn the Biden immigration policies and will work to block all efforts to achieve it, including by rejecting requests for funding that would facilitate any aspect of it. We instead express our support for a return to a set of policies that live up to our nation’s core obligations, values and principles.

While Biden reshapes our immigration system to serve rich donors and giant corporations, we believe it must serve the interests of American citizens, families and workers.

Trump’s lower-migration policies have helped push up wages and workplace investment for working Americans and their families.

In contrast, the investor-funded establishment wing of the GOP  tries to minimize media attention on the economic damage caused by Biden’s immigration policies. The wing prefers to tout the border chaos, drug crime, and cruelty to migrants. For example, Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel interviewed Texas Governor Greg Abbott, and portrayed President Joe Biden’s migration-raising policies as just a border crisis:

I’m going to move to another issue that’s facing your state but the whole world is watching right now, what’s happening on our, on our southern border, which I don’t think as many Americans completely understand the picture of what’s happening with these children that are coming over, the influx at our border, and the drain on resources this has been for our border agents. Can you paint that picture for us a little bit and how bad it really is?

But Abbott described Biden’s goals:

There’s something else different about this administration. When you go back to the presidential campaign, they were open and obvious. They said “Yes, we want open border policies, yes, we are going to allow anybody to come in who wants to come in,” and so they are fulfilling their campaign promise to the progressive wing of the Democratic Party, and that’s why this is nothing but chaos right now. It will not be solved until the Biden administration realizes that trying to appease the progressive wing of their party is going to be detrimental to them … Biden’s approval rating on the border is 29 percent.

Pro-migration groups have tried to minimize public recognition of the economic damage imposed by migration on American families and say their focus on migrants’ personal stories has shifted the polls in Biden’s favor.

The deep public opposition to labor migration is built on the widespread recognition that both legal and illegal migration undermines democratic self-government, fractures Americans’ society, moves money away from Americans’ pocketbooks, and worsens living costs for American families.

Migration moves wealth from employees to employers, from families to investors, from young to old, from children to their parents, from homebuyers to investors, from technology to stoop labor, from red states to blue states, and from the central states to the coastal states such as New York.

Migrants Found in Grain Hopper Rail Cars near Border in Texas

Border Patrol agents in the Laredo and Del Rio Sectors found more than 40 migrants being smuggled inside grain hoppers and other rail cars near the Texas-Mexico border. The practice of smuggling migrants inside these sealed containers places the migrants in life-threatening conditions.

Del Rio Sector Border Patrol agents inspected a train near Uvalde, Texas, according to videos tweeted by Epoch Times reporter Charlotte Cuthbertson on Tuesday. The videos show multiple migrants being unloaded by Border Patrol agents from the bottom of a sealed grain hopper. The train originated from the border city of Eagle Pass, Texas.

Agents removed 21 Mexican nationals from the grain hopper and four Honduran migrants from other rail cars on the same train.

Under Title 42 COVID-19 protocols put in place by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention under the Trump administration, the migrants will be expelled to Mexico.

In the neighboring Laredo Sector, Hebbronville Station agents found 16 more migrants being smuggled in grain hoppers and other rail cars. The agents uncovered the failed smuggling attempt near Hebbronville, Texas during the morning of June 22, according to information obtained from Laredo Sector Border Patrol officials.

The agents inspected the train and found 15 migrants from Mexico locked inside the grain hoppers. They also found another Mexican national in a separate railcar, officials said.

“This dangerous method of traveling further into the United States after illegal entry is strongly discouraged as it often results in serious injury or death,” Laredo Sector officials said in a written statement. “Many times, migrants choose this grueling method of transportation without realizing the consequences of their actions until it is too late. Fortunately, in this case, agents detected the individuals and were able to rescue them before any fell victim to a heat-related injury.”

EXCLUSIVE: ICE Flies Migrants from Border Area Air Force Base to U.S. Interior

A law enforcement source within Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) provided Breitbart Texas with information regarding flights from Del Rio, Texas, to the U.S. interior.

The source, speaking on the condition of anonymity, says the flights transport mostly Haitian and Venezuelan migrants from Laughlin Air Force Base to areas around the Seattle and New Orleans ICE Field Offices. The migrants, who are not eligible for removal under the CDC’s Title 42 Emergency COVID-19 authority, are being processed for asylum and will likely be released once credible fear interviews take place.

The flights were not authorized by the Air Force until very recently. Earlier this month, Congressman Tony Gonzales (R-TX) urged Acting Secretary of the Air Force Jennifer Miller to authorize ICE’s use of the base to alleviate strains on local resources.

In a June 4 letter, Gonzales writes:

As you know, the Del Rio Border Patrol Sector is experiencing record levels of migrant apprehensions. Local, state, and federal entities in the region are thus severely limited in their detainment and processing capabilities. As a result, substantial numbers of migrants, pending trial, are being released into communities in my district, overwhelming local resources and creating unsustainable bottlenecks.

To help alleviate the high traffic this region is enduring, I urge you to collaborate with ICE to facilitate flights for migrants out of Laughlin Air Force Base and to their final destinations.

Border Patrol in Del Rio sees large groups of Haitians and Venezuelans illegally enter the city almost daily. The sector currently leads the nation in the apprehension of these cohorts.

The source within ICE says the flights help to relieve local community strains and also take the migrant releases further from the public eye at the border.

ICE utilizes chartered Boeing 737, 767, and 777 equipment to facilitate the movement of migrants within the United States and abroad.

Yuma Border Sector Sees 800 Percent Jump in Migrant Encounters

On Monday, Border Patrol agents arrested a group of 86 migrants crossing the desert near Yuma, Arizona. Normally, Yuma is known for a relatively calm border.

Since Friday, the sector has seen four large groups totaling 300 migrants. The groups risk their lives at the hands of human smugglers who ignore the sizzling summers. On Friday, the temperature reached 117 degrees. Since January, agents have apprehended 97 groups of migrants numbering 50 or more.

In Fiscal Year 2020, the Yuma Sector was ranked near the bottom for migrant apprehension volume. It was second-to-last before the Big Bend Sector in Texas. In 2020, agents in Yuma arrested 5,647 migrants. This year, the number climbed nearly 800 percent to 47,358, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Despite significant investments in border infrastructure and technology in the sector, the migrants tend to face lacking consequences for illegal crossings. The recent cancellation of Trump era immigration policies which resulted in certain removal for migrants means Yuma cannot escape the current border crisis in 2021.

There are more than 38 miles of primary border fencing, 8 miles of secondary fencing, and an additional layer of 8 miles of tertiary fencing surrounding Yuma. Nearly 12 miles of all-weather roads were constructed to allow for easier patrol access. Most of the infrastructure was added under the Bush administration in 2005. The enhancements reduced illegal border crossings from nearly 140,000 in 2005 to 37,000, two years later.

As Border Patrol deals with the current surge of unaccompanied migrant children and family units surrendering daily, many others are now willing to ignore the dangers of isolated deserts.

Texas Cops Find 40 Migrants Locked in Horse Trailer

A Culberson County Sheriff’s Office deputy stopped a pick-up truck pulling a horse trailer on Friday just south of the tiny West Texas Town of Van Horn. Normally, in cattle country, a truck pulling a livestock trailer is part of the normal landscape. On this occasion, the deputy was surprised when he discovered 40 illegal migrants crammed into the hot trailer.

A Culberson County Sheriff’s Office deputy pulled over a horse trailer and found multiple migrants locked inside. The deputy also found more migrants locked inside the compartment used to store tac gear in the sweltering West Texas heat.

Deputies arrested the driver on human smuggling charges and turned the migrants over to Border Patrol agents. The incident remains under investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The border crisis is leaving no geographic regions of the southwest unaffected. In the remote Big Bend Sector, the Border Patrol usually makes the fewest migrant arrests of any sector on the southern border. The area is void of any large cities. Its remote isolated roadways make it uninviting for human traffickers who usually stand out amongst local travelers and tourists.

This year, however, is different. Since October, the Border Patrol in this region apprehended more than 25,000 migrants illegally entering the sector. This compares to slightly more than 4,000 during the same time frame last year. The increase of over 400 percent is staggering.

Like in many areas along the southwest border, Border Patrol agents in the Big Bend Sector are overwhelmed with processing and caring for the vulnerable population of migrants streaming across the border. Like other sectors, they too rely heavily on the cooperation and vigilance of local law enforcement authorities to meet the shortfall in available Border Patrol agents in the field.

On Tuesday, Border Patrol agents attempted to stop a vehicle that failed to yield to their emergency lights. The pursuit ended when the smuggler’s vehicle overturned, sending multiple migrants to a local hospital.
