Mark Morgan, former chief operating officer and acting commissioner for Customs and Border Protection (CBP), told Breitbart News that Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Alejandro Mayorkas is regularly lying to the public about the status quo of border security and illegal immigration.

“Almost everything that comes out of that man’s mouth with respect to border security and illegal immigration is a lie,” Morgan said on SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Sunday with host Joel Pollak.

Last week, Mayorkas blamed the Trump administration for an ongoing flow of migrants across the southern border. The former administration, he alleged, “dismantled our capabilities” to address migration across the U.S.-Mexico border.

Morgan remarked, “[The Biden administration has] created the worst situation that we’ve seen in modern history. … This president inherited the most secure border in modern history and has destroyed it all. … They’re lying to the American people. This does not make me feel good  to say, but I’m going to keep saying the truth.”

He continued, “When they say they inherited a dismantled a system, it’s an absolute unmitigated lie.”

Morgan recalled, “In 2019, we had what was referred to as ‘catch and release’ … because of a bad judicial decision. If you came to our border with a family, you were automatically released into the interior United States. We had no choice. That was the law. That’s what we called ‘catch and release,’ so we had hundreds of thousands of families coming in, because we would release them.”

The Trump administration’s Remain in Mexico program helped stem the tide of migration across the southern border relative to its previous volume, Morgan stated.

“By February of 2020, the number of families that tried to illegally enter went down by 75 percent,” he said. “Why? Because we had closed the loophole. No longer could they come and put forth an invalid claim and then be released in the United States, never to be heard from again, and we absolutely made a difference.”

The Biden administration’s attribution of rising numbers of migrants to “seasonal” changes is “an absolute lie,” Morgan explained.

He remarked, “It was April when they were saying, ‘Hey, this is nothing to see, seasonal trend, wait ’til the weather gets up and the numbers will go down.’ … At that moment, there was a 700 percent increase from the previous April. So even the moment that they are trying to lie and push that through to the American people, it wasn’t true. … In July, 210,000 migrants [was] the second-highest monthly total in history. That’s five months in a row, now, of 170,000-plus.”

“We are on track right now in the calendar year to set records of illegal immigration in a single year,” he added. “You’re looking at anywhere between a 400 and 900 percent increase from this time last year. It’s absurd, and it’s absolutely another lie that they’re trying to tell American people.”

He concluded, “The numbers have continued to go up every single month since this president has been in administration.”

Tom Cotton: Every Conservative Must Get Engaged to Stop Democrat Amnesty

Senate Republicans are sounding the alarm over an amnesty provision slipped into Senate Democrats’ $3.5 trillion budget resolution framework that they are seeking to shove through Congress via the filibuster-proof reconciliation process.

On Monday, Senate Democrats unveiled their budget framework that includes spending $107 billion in American taxpayer money to give amnesty to millions of illegal aliens.

The language of the framework is vague, asking the Judiciary Committee members to give “lawful permanent status to qualified immigrants.” Those who would qualify remains unclear, though Democrats have said in the past they want upwards of eight to 10 million illegal aliens given amnesty.

Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) wrote in a statement that “every conservative needs to get engaged to stop” the Democrats’ amnesty plan via reconciliation.

“During a historic border crisis, Democrats are trying to ram through mass amnesty for illegal immigrants … call Congress and tell them no amnesty,” Cotton wrote.

Likewise, Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) panned the amnesty as “the most left wing plan in American history” while Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) described it as “Bernie’s radial priorities” in reference to Senate Budget Committee Chairman Bernie Sanders (I-VT).

Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN) said the amnesty needed to be stopped by first stopping a so-called bipartisan infrastructure plan that Senate Democrats are supporting and 18 Senate Republicans, thus far, have backed.

That plan, as Breitbart News reported, would use federal funds to reward blue states and counties for driving up overall immigration levels to the U.S.

Former Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC), founder of the Senate Conservatives Fund, railed against the amnesty, writing that President Joe Biden and Senate Democrats have made “it official” in their efforts to “use reconciliation to ram through amnesty for millions of illegals.”

“We now have open borders with more than the population of most U.S. towns coming over [the] border illegally every day,” DeMint wrote. “This is madness.”

Former Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) official Jon Feere said the amnesty “would cost Americans billions immediately,” adding that Democrats “have no interest in committee hearings to determine how many more billions it would cost in the first few years.”

While Americans remain mostly in opposition to amnesty for illegal aliens — the latest Rasmussen Reports survey shows 52 percent of likely voters oppose amnesty — the plan is a fulfillment of longtime corporate interest and donor class goals to flood the United States labor market with millions of newly legalized foreign workers against whom working and middle class Americans would be forced to compete for jobs.

The amnesty has major backing from Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s FWD.us, former President George W. Bush, and the Koch brothers.

Likewise, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce most recently held a conference dedicated to promoting the amnesty plan, claiming that legalizing millions of foreign competitors against American workers is “vital” to the U.S. economic recovery following the Chinese coronavirus crisis.

Nationally, nearly 16 million Americans remain jobless, but all want full-time employment. Another 4.6 million Americans are underemployed but want a full-time job.

The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) has repeatedly found that amnesty for illegal aliens would be a net fiscal drain for American taxpayers while driving down U.S. wages.

House Republicans Threaten Action if DHS Hides Data on COVID-Positive Illegal Aliens Freed into U.S.

A group of House Republicans, led by Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX), say they are ready to take legislative action against President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) if the agency hides data on the number of coronavirus-positive illegal aliens released into the United States.

In a letter to DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, the House Republicans call his leadership a “lackluster performance” and credit Biden’s “weak border policies” for “appalling” illegal immigration totals – nearly 200,000 border crossers were encountered by federal immigration officials in June.

“The June numbers put the United States at over 1 million encounters in just the first 7 months of this fiscal year,” they write:

With continued complicity from the Biden Administration, the United States is once again slated to see another massive increase in southern border encounters. For the month of July – reporting indicates another approximate 210,000 illegal migrant encounters – this will be the highest monthly total in the history of DHS.

The House Republicans then blast Mayorkas for what they say has been a “dangerously irresponsible” lack of transparency from DHS about the number of border crossers and illegal aliens testing positive for coronavirus being released into the U.S. interior.

By September 6, the House Republicans are requesting a slew of information on illegal immigration totals. Otherwise, they say they will take legislative action by introducing a resolution of inquiry that will require DHS to respond to their questions.

“The American people and migrants seeking to come here deserve better than the chaos of a wide-open border,” they write. “Without such a foundational mechanism as enforcement of the rule of law, you cannot begin to uphold the words of DHS’s mission.”

Specifically, the House Republicans want a breakdown on the number of border crossers who have illegally entered the U.S. since January 20 who subsequently tested positive for coronavirus and were released from DHS custody into the U.S. interior while still coronavirus-positive, and a total of how many have recieved a coronavirus vaccine after crossing the border.

The House Republicans also want to know the final destinations where border crossers ended up after their release from DHS custody, broken down by state and county, as well as the number of border crossers apprehended since January 20 who are connected to international gangs, terrorist groups, or drug cartels.

In detail, the House Republicans additionally want the cost of housing, utilities, food, education, healthcare, coronavirus testing, coronavirus vaccines, and transportation provided to border crossers at the expense of American taxpayers.

The House Republicans who signed the letter include:

  • Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX)
  • Rep. Randy Weber (R-TX)
  • Rep. Beth Van Duyne (R-TX)
  • Rep. Michael Cloud (R-TX)
  • Rep. Debbie Lesko (R-AZ)
  • Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA)
  • Rep. W. Gregory Steube (R-FL)
  • Rep. Doug Lamborn (R-CO)
  • Rep. Troy Balderson (R-OH)
  • Rep. Glenn Grothman (R-WI)
  • Rep. Vern Buchanan (R-FL)
  • Rep. Bob Gibbs (R-OH)
  • Rep. Matt Rosendale (R-MT)
  • Rep. David Rouzer (R-NC)
  • Rep. Dan Bishop (R-SC)
  • Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO)
  • Rep. Bob Good (R-VA)
  • Rep. Barry Moore (R-AL)
  • Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-NC)
  • Rep. Jody Hice (R-GA)

Inquiry to Mayorkas by John Binder

Last week, DHS officials admitted in a court brief that coronavirus-positive border crossers arriving at the southern border have “increased significantly” in recent months and caused “extremely worrisome” conditions at detention facilities that are far beyond capacity limits.

“This risk has recently increased due to the recent spread of the highly transmissible COVID-19 Delta variant,” a DHS official wrote. “The rates at which encountered noncitizens are testing positive for COVID-19 have increased significantly in recent weeks.”

City officials in McAllen, Texas, revealed that the Biden administration has released more than 7,000 coronavirus-positive border crossers into their communities since February. In the last seven days, alone, the Biden administration released more than 1,500 coronavirus-positive border crossers into McAllen.

According to White House sources who spoke to the Washington PostBiden is weighing a plan that would give border crossers the Johnson & Johnson vaccine before their release into the U.S. interior.

The latest data reveals that the Biden administration has released about 173,000 border crossers into the U.S. interior since he took office in late January. In addition, just in the month of July, nearly 15,000 Unaccompanied Alien Children (UACs) were released to sponsors across the U.S. Another 16,000 UACs remain in federal custody until they are released to sponsors.

Infrastructure Bill Rewards Blue States for Driving Up Immigration Levels to U.S.

The so-called bipartisan “infrastructure” bill, backed by Senate Democrats and 18 Senate Republicans, would reward blue states with federal money for driving up immigration levels to the United States.

The bill, among other things, includes the Digital Equity Act that would help expand broadband to American communities that currently lack access to the internet.

Slipped into the legislation are provisions allocating federal funding based on the number of newly arrived immigrants in a state or region — a design that rewards blue states who tend to have the largest foreign-born populations in the nation.

As the legislation states, the Department of Commerce would set up a grant program to states to fund broadband expansion. The formula used for those grants is as follows:

50 percent of the total grant amount shall be based on the population of the eligible State in proportion to the total population of all eligible States.

25 percent of the total grant amount shall be based on the number of individuals in the eligible State who are members of covered populations in proportion to the total number of individuals in all eligible States who are members of covered populations.

25 percent of the total grant amount shall be based on the comparative lack of availability and adoption of broadband in the eligible State in proportion to the lack of availability and adoption of broadband of all eligible States…

Those considered part of the “covered populations” that a state’s grant money would be tied to — depending on how large this group is — newly arrived immigrants to the U.S. who speak little-to-no English.

The legislation defines these newly arrived immigrants as “individuals with a language barrier, including individuals who are English learners and have low levels of literacy.” Other groups in the “covered populations” include veterans, disabled Americans, nonwhite Americans, rural Americans, and incarcerated Americans.

The provision indicates blue states who help drive up immigration levels to the U.S. with generous public benefits, sanctuary policies, and concentrations of wealth with large income inequalities are set to benefit immensely from the legislation included in the bill.

California, for example, would be the primary winner of the legislation with a foreign-born population at about 24 percent, the highest in the nation. Behind California is Texas, with a foreign-born population of nearly 11 percent, Florida with a foreign-born population of 9.8 percent, and New York with a foreign-born population of 10 percent.

More importantly, the nation’s top 10 counties with the highest foreign-born populations are primarily deep blue areas controlled by Democrats including Los Angeles County, California; Miami-Dade County, Florida; Harris County, Texas; Cook County, Illinois; Queens County, New York; San Diego County, California; and Santa Clara County, California, among others.

These areas could be first in line to receive funding to expand broadband.

Meanwhile, red states and counties such as North Dakota, Idaho, South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Arkansas, Missouri, South Carolina, Nebraska, Kansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, West Virginia, and Kentucky would lose out on such funds to expand broadband potentially because none have significant foreign-born populations.

While Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-TN) has helped stall the bill in the Senate, 18 Senate Republicans voted with Democrats this weekend to advance the bill.

Those Senators include Roy Blunt (R-MO), John Hoeven (R-ND), Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), Bill Cassidy (R-LA), Mike Crapo (R-ID), Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Mitch McConnell (R-KY), Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), Rob Portman (R-OH), Jim Risch (R-ID), Mitt Romney (R-UT), Thom Tillis (R-NC), Todd Young (R-IN), Chuck Grassley (R-IA), John Hoeven (R-ND), Kevin Cramer (R-ND), Susan Collins (R-ME), and Mike Rounds (R-SD).

A Florida resident paced outside a non-government migrant shelter in McAllen, Texas, on Friday hoping to see a friend’s family members. Vicky, who did not want to provide a last name, expressed displeasure at the disorganized conditions at the shelter, the spreading of COVID-19, and the lack of information needed to locate the family members inside.

Vicky spoke with Breitbart Texas outside the shelter and described her frustration in finding out local hotels in the area are housing COVID-positive migrants while not informing other guests. She spoke about multiple failed attempts to find her friend’s family who recently called them from the shelter for assistance. She says the situation is disorganized and that conditions in the shelter are overcrowded.

Much like the Border Patrol, the local shelter run by Catholic Charities in downtown McAllen appeared overwhelmed on Friday. The migrants, recently released by the Border Patrol, waited outside on the sidewalks to gain entry.

Families with small children stood outside the shelter and patiently waited for a room to become available inside the shelter as local shoppers watched. Commercial vans and taxis hustled to take migrants to hotels in the area as the Border Patrol contract buses continued to drop off more migrants in a revolving door fashion.

One Venezuelan family spoke to Breitbart Texas and said they crossed the Rio Grande River near McAllen on Thursday. The young man says he, along with his wife and baby, is headed to South Carolina where they have relatives waiting for them. He says he knows nothing about the shelter or what he will be told inside. When asked when he would be leaving the border area and by what means he said, “I don’t know, we’ll see what they say when we get inside.”
