CHEAR FREAKS - SAYS GOP WILL DESTROY DEMOCRACY FROM WITHIN - ABOUT LIKE JOE BIDEN AND KAMALA HARRIS ARE DESTROYING AMERICA BY ORCHESTRATING A MASSIVE INVASION

LIKE WHO GIVES A FUCK WHAT CHER THINKS?

Cher Freaks: ‘Like Hitler Destroyed Germany from Within, So Will GOP Destroy Democracy and America’

Left-wing pop star Cher, who campaigned for Joe Biden in 2020, compared the Republican Party to Hitler, warning that the GOP will “destroy democracy & America from within” just as “Hitler destroyed Germany from within.” Cher made no mention of the Holocaust, which resulted in millions of deaths.

“I4,4 THE RIGHTS OF”ALL”CITIZENS 2 VOTE,& HAVE THEIR VOTES COUNT‼️I Can’t Believe Im Having 2 Say This,” the “Believe” singer said in a social media message, to her 3.9 million followers, riddled with emojis.

“Pray WeGop…,Because,Like Hitler Destroyed Germany From Within,So Will Gop Destroy Democracy,& America From Within. ps I Pray Boosters Are a Lifeline,” she said, incorporating the coronavirus pandemic into her cautionary tale.

Cher failed to mention that millions of innocent Jews were murdered at the hands of Hitler’s Nazi regime. It remains unclear if she actually believes Republicans are on par with Nazis, who systematically killed innocent men, women, and children. The actor is in good company, however, as many Democrats have effectively minimized the Holocaust over the years after continually likening former President Trump to Adolf Hitler and his supporters to Nazis. President Biden himself has engaged in such comparisons, even likening Trump to Nazi propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels.

Biden, the Democrat Party’s leader, has struggled in his early days in office with issues that Democrats would have surely sounded the alarm over if Trump were in office. Last week, the Pentagon admitted it killed as many as 10 civilians, including several children, in a Kabul drone strike. Meanwhile, Biden’s administration is withholding lifesaving coronavirus treatment from people as his battle against GOP governors rages on. All the while, Biden is flying unvaccinated illegal aliens into the country.

This is far from the first time the Burlesque star has issued a dire political warning to her 3.9 million followers on Twitter. Weeks ago, Cher spun into an all-caps meltdown over Texas’s pro-life law, warning that “DEMOCRACY WILL WITHER & DIE, & DICTATORS WILL THRIVE.”

“BAREFOOT & PREGNANT, WOMEN AT THE MERCY OF TYRANTS !! WOMEN WILL DIE FROM BACK ALLEY ABORTIONS, SAME AS BEFORE ROE V WADE !! POOR WOMEN WILL BE HIT THE HARDEST !! CAREERS VANISH !! SEXISM, RACISM, trumpism, CULTISM, FASCISM, TERRORISM,” Cher ranted. “DEMOCRACY WILL WITHER & DIE, & DICTATORS WILL THRIVE.”

In July, the Moonstruck star freaked out again, declaring that Trump “WILL KILL” America if Americans do not vote in 2022.

President Joe Biden remains silent about the American-launched drone strike that killed ten civilians, including seven children and no terrorists.

The Pentagon confirmed Friday that the drone strike was a mistake and said it would investigate the process behind the erroneous target.

But Biden has not spoken to reporters about the botched operation or offered a public apology.

The president twice walked by waiting reporters without answering questions as he traveled from the beach in Delaware to the White House and left in the afternoon for the United Nations summit in New York.

The White House acknowledged the mistake on Monday, but focused attention on the Pentagon’s investigation.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki sidestepped questions Monday about whether anyone in the Defense Department would be fired in response to the mistaken target.

“Obviously it was done in error and obviously there was a horrific tragedy that happened, but I’m not going to predict what the impact will be,” Psaki said.

She also tried to signal the president’s feelings about the tragic event.

“As a human being, as a president, as someone who has overseen loss in a variety of scenarios both as a leader and personally, his reaction is it is a tragedy,” she said.

The amnesty is being pushed by Mark Zuckerberg’s FWD.us group of West Coast investors. The group has strong ties to many White House officials and stands to gain from more cheap labor, government-aided consumers, and room-sharing renters.

Amnesty Army Readies Plan B

Amnesty advocates are drafting a Plan B following the Sunday rejection of the wide-ranging amnesty-and-cheap-labor plan by the Senate’s debate referee.

“As we have been saying for weeks, we anticipate this would be a multi-step, iterative process with multiple bites at the apple,” said a statement from Mark Zuckerberg’s FWD.us lobby group for West Coast investors. The group has been funding many astroturf groups around the nation to persuade politicians and journalists that additional migration is popular.

If the decision survives the progressive backlash, it will prevent the Democrats from using their narrow, one-vote majority in the Senate to create a huge partisan amnesty that would have many economic, civic, and political consequences.

The FWD.us statement said:

We wanted to make you aware that Senate Leadership will present alternate immigration-related proposals for the Senate Parliamentarian’s consideration in the coming days, after the Parliamentarian stated her opposition to an initial iteration late Sunday.

Congress has a once-in-a-generation opportunity to pass a pathway to citizenship for millions of immigrants currently living, working, and contributing to our families and communities across this country. This can and must be the year that Congress finally recognizes Dreamers, TPS holders, farmworkers, and immigrant essential workers as the Americans they already are.

The Plan B may be a scaled-down version of the amnesty push, which would have provided amnesty for at least 8 million migrants, accelerated the inflow of chain migrants, and lifted caps on the inflow of foreign graduates. The plan was excluded by the parliamentarian, or referee, from the planned $3.5 trillion budget bill  because  it is a broad policy issue, not a narrow budgetary adjustment.

The secret Plan B may include a push to replace the parliamentarian, or promote a narrower version of the Plan A.

However, Democrat Senators from small states may protect the parliamentarian. They have an incentive to protect the parliamentarian’s clout because they fear that the wealthy states may gain the power to rewrite the Senate’s rules in their favor.

The FWD.us group has close ties to the White House, and in recent weeks, administration officials have been repeating the group’s poll-testing talking points.

The FWD.us statement included responses from their allies to the parliamentarian’s rejection of their initial Plan A:

The White House
“The President has made very clear that he supports efforts by Congress to include a pathway to citizenship in the reconciliation package and is grateful to Congressional leadership for all of the work they are doing to make this a reality. The Parliamentarian’s ruling is deeply disappointing but we fully expect our partners in the Senate to come back with alternative immigration-related proposals for the Parliamentarian to consider.”

[Democratic Senate Majority Leader] Sen. [Chuck] Schumer:
“We are deeply disappointed in this decision but the fight to provide lawful status for immigrants in budget reconciliation continues. Senate Democrats have prepared alternate proposals and will be holding additional meetings with the Senate parliamentarian in the coming days.

“The American people understand that fixing our broken immigration system is a moral and economic imperative. America has always been that shining city on the hill that welcomes those pursuing the American Dream and our economy depends more than ever on immigrants. Despite putting their lives on the line during the pandemic and paying their fair share of taxes, they remain locked out of the federal assistance that served as a lifeline for so many families. We will continue fighting to pursue the best path forward to grant them the ability to obtain lawful status.”

For many years, a wide variety of pollsters have shown deep and broad opposition to labor migration and the inflow of temporary contract workers into jobs sought by young U.S. graduates. This pocketbook opposition is multiracialcross-sexnon-racistclass-basedbipartisan,  rationalpersistent, and recognizes the solidarity Americans owe to each other.

FWD.us allies have produced multiple reports claiming very small wage gains for Americans. Those claims are cited in a “50 economists” letter and were debunked by Breitbart News in April.

However, donor-funded GOP leaders have downplayed the pocketbook impact of migration on Americans’ communities. Instead of trying to win worried swing voters by offering pocketbook gains from immigration reform, GOP leaders try to steer GOP base voters’ concerns towards subsidiary non-economic issues, such as migrant crime, the border wall, border chaos, and drug smuggling.

Joe Biden’s Donor List Includes More than 30'

Executives Tied to Wall Street

JOHN BINDER

Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden has more than 30 business executives on his donor list that have connections to Wall Street.

Analysis of Biden’s more than 800 big donors, those who have bundled contributions for his presidential bid against President Trump, found that more than 30 of the executives listed have ties to Wall Street.

CNBC reports:

CNBC reviewed a new list of more than 800 Biden bundlers who raised at least $100,000 for the campaign, and found that several of them had links to financial firms. A few had been mentioned on the initial list of Biden fundraisers that was released in 2019 during the Democratic primary contests. [Emphasis added]

Beyond those from Wall Street, Biden’s campaign saw fundraising help from leaders in Silicon Valley, including LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman and venture capitalist Ron Conway. [Emphasis added]

Those executives with ties to Wall Street funding Biden’s campaign include:

Frank Baker, Brett Barth, Jim Chanos, Mark Chorazak, David Clunie, William Derrough, Roger Altman, Blair Effron, Jon Feigelson, Mark Gallogly, John Rogers, Jon Gray, Tony James, Jon Henes, Sonny Kalsi, Orin Kramer, Brad Krap, Brian Kreiter, Marc Lasry, Nate Loewenthall, Eric Mindich, Kara Moore, Charles Myers, Alan Patricof, Deven Parekh, Robert Rubin, Evan Roth, Faiza Saeed, Rajen Shah, Jay Snyder, Rob Stavis, and Jeff Zients.

As Breitbart News reported, Biden’s campaign is being backed by nearly “all the big banks” on Wall Street, according to CNN analysis, and Wall Street executives and employees have donated more than $74 million to elect the former vice president.

Trump, on the other hand, has accepted far less money from Wall Street — taking just a little over $18 million dollars from financial firms. This is a whopping $56 million less than what Biden has accepted from Wall Street.

Despite his Wall Street, big business, Big Tech, and billionaire donations, Biden has attempted to portray himself as a small-town fighter from Scranton, Pennsylvania.

In a post on Sunday, Biden wrote that “Donald Trump sees the world from Park Avenue,” whereas he sees the world “from where I came from: Scranton, Pennsylvania.” In fact, Biden has raised over $1 million from wealthy Park Avenue donors, more than eight times the less than $130,000 that Trump has taken from Park Avenue residents.

Big Tech and Big Law dominate Biden

transition teams, tempering progressive hopes

Alexander Nazaryan administration takes office in January.

WASHINGTON — For six years, Brandon Belford worked as an economic policy adviser to President Barack Obama in the White House and federal agencies. He moved to the Bay Area when Donald Trump became president, part of a massive flight of Obama officials from Washington to Silicon Valley, Wall Street and Hollywood. He took high-ranking positions with Apple and then Lyft, where he is currently the ride-sharing company’s chief of staff.

Now Belford is back, as part of one of the “transition teams” named by President-elect Joe Biden to restock a federal government that has been battered after four years of Trump by hiring new officials and advising the incoming administration on what its first governing steps should be.

Those steps could be timid, judging by the composition of those teams, where Obama-era centrism prevails. That has some progressives worried that Biden represents nothing more than a return to normal, at a time when many of them believe the nation is ready to embrace policy ideas well to the left of center.

“The status quo is killing us,” says former Bernie Sanders press secretary Briahna Joy Gray, who now hosts a podcast called “Bad Faith.”

Belford is joined by dozens of other Democratic operatives who have spent the past four years working at prestigious law firms and think tanks. On these “agency review teams” are high-ranking executives from Amazon, partners at white-shoe law firms like Covington & Burling and enough experts from D.C. center-left think tanks — including six from the Brookings Institution alone — to fill a center-left think tank.

Progressives knew this was coming. “I am very concerned about the role Uber executives would play in this administration,” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez D-N.Y., told Yahoo News. Even though she also effusively praised the appointment of Ron Klain as the incoming White House chief of staff, Ocasio-Cortez vowed that corporate America would not “pull the wool over our eyes” when it came to crafting the Biden presidency.

Some have put it less bluntly. “Biden’s transition team is full of wealthy corporate executives who are completely disconnected from the struggles of the working class,” complains left-leaning activist Ryan Knight, whose Twitter handle is @ProudSocialist.

He was presumably referring to the two dozen agency review team officials who come from law firms like Arnold & Porter. Or to the 40 or so members of the Biden transition who are current or recent lobbyists.

The agency review teams are not exactly settling into their cubicles just yet. For one, President Trump has not yet conceded the election, and the transition has been hindered in part by Republican operatives at the General Services Administration. And agency review is an enormously complex process, one that actually began months ago. The transition teams are supposed to ensure a “smooth transfer of power,” in large part by making sure that capable officials are ready to get to work in their respective agencies the moment Biden lifts his hand from the Lincoln Bible.

Speaking on the condition of anonymity, one member of the Biden campaign working on agency-related matters says teams were primarily tasked with surveying the landscape of the federal bureaucracy. She says that the transition teams would make some hiring recommendations, but only as a secondary function.

With a single exception, the agency review team members mentioned in this article did not respond to requests for comment.

One with a typically impressive biography is that of Aneesh Chopra, who served as the U.S. chief technology officer for Obama before starting his own medical data logistics company, CareJourney. Now he is on the transition team for the U.S. Postal Service, where he will presumably work to undo the alleged damage by another logistics maven: Trump appointee Louis DeJoy.

Of course, most progressives are glad that there’s a Biden transition to speak of, instead of a second Trump term. But they also recognize their own role in the Democratic candidate’s victory.

“Everyone fell into line and did everything they could to get Joe Biden elected,” says Max Berger, a progressive activist who worked for Elizabeth Warren’s presidential campaign and Justice Democrats, the group that helped elect Ocasio-Cortez to the House in 2018.

Berger recognizes that progressives will be a “junior partner” to the establishment Democrats with whom Biden has been ideologically and temperamentally aligned for a good half-century. They want to be partners all the same, not just the loyal opposition.

Many are cheered by some of the agency review teams. For one, they are notably more diverse, a stark contrast to Trump’s reliance on white males for so much of his advice. On the transition team for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration is Jedidah Isler, the Dartmouth professor who in 2014 became the first Black woman to earn a doctorate in astrophysics from Yale. The transition team for the Small Business Administration includes Jorge Silva Puras, a political leader in Puerto Rico who also teaches entrepreneurship at a community college in the Bronx.

“The presence of labor officials throughout many of the groups is notable,” says David Dayen, executive editor of the American Prospect. In the Department of Education team, for example, are several executives from the American Federation of Teachers.

He called the Federal Reserve and Treasury teams “all-stars,” a sentiment shared by other progressives interviewed for this article. On the Treasury team is Mehrsa Baradaran, a progressive economist who has written on the racial wealth gap. She is also on the Federal Reserve team, along with Reena Aggarwal, a corporate governance expert.

Progressive strategist Elizabeth Spiers says the finance-related teams are not “not quite Elizabeth Warren levels of aggressiveness but also not stuffed with finance people.” Biden’s advisers appear to have learned the lessons of his former boss. During Obama’s first year, he relied on banking executives to help quell the financial crisis. They did so in ways that steered the new president away from progressive proposals, such as nationalizing those very same banks

There is not a single current executive from Citibank or Goldman Sachs on any of the transition teams. Bank of America has also been shut out. JPMorgan can boast a single toehold in the agency review process: Lisa Sawyer of the Pentagon team. A spokesman for JPMorgan told Yahoo News that the bank was “following the appropriate election laws” and that Sawyer was “not on an agency review team that will touch any banking issues.”

“I think the Biden administration is going to be surprising to progressives in some ways and disappointing in others, and the agency review teams reflect that,” Dayen says. During the summer, the American Prospect published a lengthy exposé about Biden’s foreign policy advisers’ lucrative foray into corporate America. Many are set to return to the highest echelons of official Washington.

“I have to be cautiously optimistic,” says Waleed Shahid, communications director for the Justice Democrats.

Relatively young progressives like Shahid are less likely to wax romantic about the way things were in Washington. They are less interested in experience than conviction. But for many in Biden’s camp, a lack of experience was among the several fatal flaws of the Trump years.

“Everyone — right or left — has made the mistaken assumption for years that governing is easy,” says “The Death of Expertise” author Tom Nichols, who teaches at the Naval War College and is an ardently anti-Trump Republican.

“After having a bunch of nitwits and cronies loose in the government,” Nichols wrote in an email, “I think a lot of people on the left are really giving in to the assumption that as long as you’re not Trump, or not a complete idiot, anyone can do it.”

Given the title and theme of his book, Nicholas cautioned against that approach. “It’s a childish and silly approach to government, but it’s a bipartisan problem,” he told Yahoo News.

While progressive may not see their stars like Sens. Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren occupying the Treasury Department, they do very much hope that a Biden presidency amounts to more than a third Obama term. It was unaddressed economic inequality, they believe, that bred the populist resentment that gave Trump an opening in 2016. The coronavirus has only made that inequality worse. That will only increase populist resentment, they worry, to be exploited by a Trump acolyte — or perhaps Trump himself, again — in 2024.

Addressing that inequality, for now, falls to transition team officials like Mark Schwartz of Amazon and Ted Dean of Dropbox, as well as Arun Venkataraman of Visa and David Holmes of defense contractor Rebellion Defense, in which Eric Schmidt of Google is an investor. Many of these officials are veterans of the Obama administration or Democratic offices on the Hill.

“There is a lot of corporate influence there,” says Maurice Weeks, co-founder of the Action Center on Race and the Economy. “And that is troubling.” But he is encouraged by the presence of “hard-core progressives” like Sarah Miller, a former Treasury deputy who is both an anti-Facebook activist and the executive of the American Economic Liberties Project, which seeks to curb corporate power. She is now on the Treasury transition team.

In some ways, the difference is between former Obama officials who, like Miller, went on to become activists and those who moved on to become rich. The latter did only what many government officials had done before them. But at a time of mass unemployment, a stint at the corporate law firm Latham & Watkins (three transition team members) may not seem as impressive as it may have when Obama was president.

“We don’t just want to rewind the clock by four years,” Weeks says.

For many progressives, Trump was a singular threat to important institutions of the federal government, but rebuilding those institutions is simply not as important as rebuilding entire communities shattered by economic, social and racial inequalities.

A recent report from the Wall Street Journal claims that internal Facebook documents reveal that the company was aware of drug cartels and human trafficking on its platform and failed to take appropriate action against them.

The Wall Street Journal reports in an article titled “Facebook Employees Flag Drug Cartels and Human Traffickers. The Company’s Response Is Weak, Documents Show,” that Facebook failed to crack down on illegal activity on its platform after being alerted to the issues by employees.

The Journal writes:

Scores of internal Facebook documents reviewed by The Wall Street Journal show employees raising alarms about how its platforms are used in some developing countries, where its user base is already huge and expanding. They also show the company’s response, which in many instances is inadequate or nothing at all.

Employees flagged that human traffickers in the Middle East used the site to lure women into abusive employment situations in which they were treated like slaves or forced to perform sex work. They warned that armed groups in Ethiopia used the site to incite violence against ethnic minorities. They sent alerts to their bosses on organ selling, pornography and government action against political dissent, according to the documents.

Facebook removes some pages, though many more operate openly, according to the documents.

The leaked documents reveal that in many of the countries where Facebook operates, it has few or sometimes no people who speak the local languages needed to identify criminal content on the platform. Facebook has previously said that it addressed issues in the past by taking down offending posts, but it has yet to update the systems that allowed repeat offenders to remain on the platform.

Brian Boland, a former Facebook vice president who oversaw partnerships with internet providers in Africa and Asia, said that Facebook treats harm in developing countries as “simply the cost of doing business.” Boland resigned from Facebook at the end of last year. “There is very rarely a significant, concerted effort to invest in fixing those areas,” he said.

EXCLUSIVE: Cartel Violence, Cheaper Smuggling Rates Drive Caribbean Migrants to West Texas Border

Gulf Cartel Gunman
Breitbart Border / Cartel Chronicles

Violence from Gulf Cartel members and cheaper smuggling rates than their rivals are two main factors pushing thousands of Caribbean migrants to Del Rio instead of the Rio Grande Valley, which is considerably closer in terms of travel distance.

More than 12,000 migrants, primarily from Haiti, are being held by U.S. authorities under an international bridge awaiting processing. The migrants crossed from Ciudad Acuna in Coahuila into Del Rio, Texas, and instead of avoiding authorities, they are requesting asylum once they encounter U.S. Border Patrol.

Breitbart Texas spoke with Mexican federal law enforcement officials who contend that Coahuila border cities are preferred among migrants because human smugglers there are less likely to extort or kidnap them before reaching the Rio Grande.

Breitbart Texas also consulted with U.S. law enforcement sources operating in Mexico who say that other criminal organizations such as the Cartel Del Noreste faction of Los Zetas, which operates in Nuevo Laredo and northern Coahuila, have been luring independent human smugglers with safer routes and lower rates to cross through their territory.

Those same smuggling groups appear to be helping guide the caravans of Caribbean migrants towards the Coahuila border. On Thursday, citizen journalists reported large groups of migrants at the bus station of Poza Rica in the state of Veracruz. Those groups were planning on reaching Ciudad Acuna, the citizen journalists reported.

Authorities in Coahuila are escorting buses with migrants from the border city of Piedras Negras to Ciudad Acuna, where they are crossing into Texas by the thousands.

Three hundred million Americans must ensure their homeland complies with the expectations of “brave” foreign migrants, not the needs of their own families, according to a “Citizenship Day” video by President Joe Biden.

“Citizenship Day is a reminder that the job of every single one of us is to ensure that America remains a country worthy of immigrants’ aspirations,” Biden said in a September 17 video.

Biden ignored 300 million Americans’ concerns, accomplishments, and right to a national labor market.

He instead praised migrants — including millions of illegal migrants — who are being invited by his government to compete for the jobs, careers, wages, and housing needed by Americans:

Every immigrant comes here from different circumstances and for different reasons, but they all have one thing in common: Courage. It takes courage to leave behind all you’ve ever known and start a new life in America.

Biden also described illegal migrants who took jobs from Americans as saviors of hapless Americans, saying they “carried our country on their backs throughout this pandemic.”

Legal and illegal migrants do a minority of the work in nearly all job categories.

Biden used his brave migrants/hapless Americans speech to urge Congress to pass multiple wealth-shifting amnesties in the pending budget reconciliation bill.

The bill would also import at least three million extra immigrants, and allow companies to hire cheap foreign graduates instead of well-paid U.S. graduates.

He said:

I’m working closely with Congress right now to finally make that [amnesty] a reality, to ensure that every brave immigrant can pursue all the rights and opportunities that come with American citizenship … I’m confident that this year, we’re finally going to put that within reach of so many deserving immigrants that sacrificed and contributed so much to our nation already.

The amnesty is being pushed by Mark Zuckerberg’s FWD.us group of West Coast investors. The group has strong ties to many White House officials and stands to gain from more cheap labor, government-aided consumers, and room-sharing renters.

Biden’s speech echoes the “Nation of Immigrants” myth that has been pushed by progressives since the 1950s. Before then, the nation’s culture emphasized Americans’ role as independent settlers in a largely empty continent.

Biden’s deputies use that myth to justify their subordination of Americans’ needs and rights to the preference of foreigners. For example, Alejandro Mayorkas, Biden’s border chief, posted a tweet September 14 praising a corporate-backed group that wants to elevate migrants’ desires above Americans’ economic rights:

This important effort shows the best of who we are: a welcoming, generous nation that serves as a beacon of hope and refuge for those in need throughout the world.

This year, Mayorkas is expected to double legal and illegal migration to roughly 2 million people. That flood delivers one immigrant for every two American births.

Regardless of the 1950s myth, the United States won World War II, created a middle-class economy, invented many new technologies, revived racial equality, and landed astronauts on the moon during the long period of low migration between 1925 and 1970.

In 1955, as pro-migration groups insisted the United States was a “Nation of Immigrants,” immigrants were only 7 percent of the population, down from 15 percent in 1910. Since 1955, the share has doubled, back up to 15 percent.

Family income doubled between 1950 and 1970, according to the left-wing Center on Budget and Policy Priorities. But in the subsequent high-immigration era, family income rose far more slowly, by only one-quarter from 1980 to 2020.

Immigration benefits the United States with a bigger economy of many consumers, workers, homeowners, and inventors — Hungarian Steven Grove, and South African Elon Musk, for example. Collectively, they helped expand the nation’s wealth that is stored in house prices, patents, and stock market funds.

But economic studies suggest that migration does little or nothing to increase median income.

Migration also spurs political conflict and chaotic diversity, partly because it allows social-style activists — including Biden — to shift their emotional concerns from poor Americans to the very poor migrants demanded by investors.

For example, Biden’s loose border rules have invited a mass migration of poor people to the U.S. border where they are being held in the open prior to their release into U.S. workplaces:

Many polls show that labor migration is deeply unpopular because it damages ordinary Americans’ career opportunities, cuts their wages, and raises their rents. Migration also curbs their productivity, shrinks their political clout, widens regional wealth gaps, and wrecks their democratic, compromise-promoting civic culture.

Texas Border Mayor Declares Disaster, Closes Entry to International Bridge Above Migrant Camp

The mayor of the border city of Del Rio, Texas, declared a state of disaster on Friday as migrants continue to pour across from Mexico. Calling the situation “dire,” the mayor shut down the toll booths on the Del Rio International Bridge and closed it to traffic as a security measure.

“Dire circumstances require dire responses,” Del Rio Mayor Bruno Lozano said, according to the Texas Tribune. “There’s people having babies down there [under the bridge], there’s people collapsing out of the heat. They’re pretty aggressive, rightly so — they’ve been in the heat day after day after day.”

As of Friday morning, more than 12,000 migrants are being held under the bridge, Breitbart Texas reported. Migrants, mostly from Haiti and Venezuela, continue to cross the border faster than Border Patrol agents can process them and bus them away.

Mayor Bruno reportedly called for assistance from the State of Texas to help keep the migrants from leaving the bridge area and entering his city.

The current migrant population under the bridge is more than 12,000. This is roughly half the adult population of the city of Del Rio.

One day earlier, Mayor Bruno described a separate economy that developed among the migrants being detained under the bridge. Migrants, reportedly Mexican nationals, stream back and forth across the border bringing goods into the migrant camp.

In response to the overwhelming number of migrants crossing into Del Rio, Border Patrol officials shut down interior immigration checkpoints to free up more agents to work the migrant camp.

Meanwhile, Val Verde County Sheriff Joe Frank Martinez told reporters that no one is being tested for COVID-19 or anything else, Breitbart reported.

“We’re alone down here dealing with a national issue,” the sheriff said about the current crisis that is underway in his county. “We feel abandoned.”

Breitbart Texas reached out to U.S. Customs and Border Protection for confirmation about the reported closing of the international bridge. An immediate response was not available.

When asked, “Is Joe Biden really doing the job of president, or are others making decisions for him behind the scenes?” Only 39 percent said “Joe Biden is really doing the job of president,” while a majority of 51 percent said, “others are making decisions for him.”

So Joe Biden is increasingly seen as a president not up to the job and a president who is not really making the decisions he was elected to make.
