2021: 1.9M Migrants Apprehended Along Southwest Border, 500K ‘Got Aways’

Border Patrol agents apprehended more than 1.9 million migrants who illegally crossed the southwest border with Mexico between ports of entry during 2021. Another estimated half-million migrants managed to avoid apprehension and sneak into the U.S.

Unofficial numbers indicate that Border Patrol agents assigned to the nine southwest border sectors apprehended approximately 1,929,000 migrants who illegally crossed between ports of entry in 2021. Official U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) reports revealed that agents apprehended 1,773,674 migrants through the first 11 months of the year. A source operating under the umbrella of CBP told Breitbart Texas that, with three days to go, agents apprehended approximately 156,000 migrants in December to date.

In addition to the apprehension of migrants, officials disclosed to Breitbart that a minimum 428,000 migrants are reported as “got aways.” The known got-away count is updated daily by the Border Patrol, according to the source. The data is entered into a system of record easily accessible to agency leaders. The metric is usually not released by DHS. The estimate is achieved by counting migrants who ultimately escape apprehension after being observed by aircraft and camera systems. Agents also use traditional sign-cutting techniques to identify footprints.

Agents previously told Breitbart the numbers of got aways are likely much higher this year because of the constant flow of migrants being apprehended along the southern border impedes the agency’s ability to adequately patrol miles of the border. The absence of routine patrols is driving the got-away numbers up as there are no available Border Patrol agents to respond to electronic sensors, camera activations, and unmanned aerial surveillance sightings.

Combining the actual apprehension totals and the got aways, nearly 2.4 million migrants illegally crossed the border between ports of entry this year.

Joe Biden, with Help from GOP, Resettles Over 52,000 Afghans Across U.S. in 2021

President Joe Biden has resettled more than 52,000 Afghans across American cities, towns, and communities this year, the latest Department of Homeland Security (DHS) data reveals, in the largest refugee resettlement operation in American history.

Biden’s massive Afghan resettlement operation started in mid-August after a botched withdrawal of United States Armed Forces from Afghanistan following a 20-year war that took the lives of hundreds of thousands of people.

Since then, Biden has resettled more than 52,000 Afghans across American communities in 46 states. DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has admitted that vetting procedures for Afghans arriving in the U.S. are minimal.

“We are not conducting in-person, refugee interviews of 100 percent individuals,” Mayorkas said during a congressional hearing in November.

The resettlement operation has been aided by American taxpayer money, approved by Republicans and Democrats in Congress. In September, 49 House and Senate Republicans helped give Biden $6.4 billion to resettle an endless number of Afghans across the U.S.

Earlier this month, 19 Senate Republicans and Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) joined Democrats to throw more taxpayer money at Biden’s Afghan resettlement — providing him with an additional $7 billion.

Along with those resettled across American communities, the Biden administration continues temporarily housing about 22,500 Afghans at U.S. military bases that they have transformed into refugee camps.

Those bases include Camp Atterbury in Indiana; Fort Dix in New Jersey; Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico, Fort Pickett in Virginia; and Fort McCoy in Wisconsin. Afghans, while still living on the bases, can begin applying for work permits.

In total, the Biden administration has brought more than 75,000 Afghans to the U.S. in just a matter of a little more than four months. Most are arriving on humanitarian parole, a visa-less category for anyone claiming to be facing persecution, while few are Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) holders.

Partnering with Biden, a non-governmental organization (NGO) — backed by former Presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama — is facilitating much of the Afghan resettlement on the corporate side. That NGO is working with the Koch brothers network of donor class organizations and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

Refugee resettlement costs American taxpayers nearly $9 billion every five years, according to research, and each refugee costs taxpayers about $133,000 over the course of their lifetime. Within five years, an estimated 16 percent of all refugees admitted will need housing assistance paid for by taxpayers.

Exclusive — Lauren Boebert: Democrats ‘Play the Victim’ to Distract from Southern Border, Medical Mandates

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) told Breitbart News in an exclusive interview that Democrats “play the victim” to distract from their policies on medical mandates and the U.S. southern border, among other issues.

“We are taking back the majority in 2022. It’s not going to come easily,” Boebert told Breitbart News last week at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest in Phoenix, Arizona. “We need to continue to message to the American people [about] the agenda of the Democrats.”

“Every bright, shiny thing that you see comes from the Democrats — an Ilhan Omar, Lauren Boebert spat — is just a distraction from their policies,” the congresswoman added. “They have to play the victim in some role, because their policies are destroying our country.”

Boebert continued:

From the invasion at our southern border, to the supply chain crisis, to the jobs crisis. The unemployment crisis, the unconstitutional medical mandates, our children that are bound in masks in schools, and so much more — vaccine mandates probably coming to a school near you.

And our frontline workers, who are now put in a position where they have to choose their livelihood — their career that they have had their entire lives — or an unconstitutional medical mandate. And so, this is all a distraction from their policies. Their policies are not working.

“But the question is, Alana, what kind of majority are we going to have? Are we going to have Mitt Romneys? Are we going to have Mitch McConnells? Are we going to have Adam Kinzingers and Liz Cheneys? No,” Boebert added.

“We need to have the Madison Cawthorns. We need the Jim Jordans, we need the Andy Biggs,” the congresswoman affirmed. “We need more people who will stand firm in what they believe in, and who are principled.”

“No one’s looking for a perfect politician, that doesn’t exist,” Boebert said. “We’re not looking for perfect, we’re looking for principled. We’re looking for someone who will put themselves second, and the people they were elected to serve, first.”
