(CNSNews.com) - We've all heard about and occasionally seen on television the wave of crime, drug abuse, homelessness and lawlessness that has turned parts of San Francisco into a no-go zone for residents and tourists alike.
"It is time that the reign of criminals who are destroying our city -- it's time for it to come to an end. And it comes to an end when we take the steps to be more aggressive with law enforcement; more aggressive in our policies and less tolerant of all the bullshit that is destroying our city.
"We are going to turn this around," she said.
To make that happen, Breed announced the following steps in a post on Medium.com:
"We will do all of this while continuing our long-term work to establish innovative mental health interventions, like our Street Crisis Response Teams and the major expansion of mental health beds. We will also continue to expand access to housing and shelter...and to invest in anti-poverty programs that are working," she wrote.
Breed said she knows that her public safety initiatives "will make a lot of people uncomfortable. And I don't care," she said.
"At the end of the day, the safety of the people of San Francisco is the most important thing to me. And we are past the point where what we see is even remotely acceptable."
Drivers in San Francisco are leaving their car’s trunk open in an effort to fend off potential auto burglaries as the city reported a 32 percent increase in car break-ins over the past year.
“I’m shocked,” said Garret Tom, former San Francisco Police Department Deputy Chief. “There’s so much that can go wrong here.”
Tom noted that “we’re in different times” and cautioned that leaving the trunk open would invite more thieves instead of deterring them. “They could steal your batteries, your tires,” he told KGO-TV. “They could go into your glove compartment and find out where you live.”
San Francisco is not the only bay area city to suffer from increased car break-ins. In neighboring Oakland, both car break-ins and auto burglaries increased by 27 percent this year.
“We have got to do more to get us through this holiday season,” Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf said . Schaaf called on private property owners to assist in the city’s surveillance of these criminals by installing security cameras.
“Pointing the cameras towards the street and register it with the Oakland Police Department,” Schaaf said.
Oakland’s Interim Deputy Police Chief Drennon Lindsey said residents’ response to the increase in car break-ins “doesn’t really surprise” her. However, Lindsey warned citizens that thieves have the technology to detect a laptop hidden anywhere within a vehicle.
Lindsey also suggested Oakland residents take a common-sense approach. “Don’t leave valuables in the car, don’t even tuck things under your seat,” Lindsey said.

Black Who Attacked Asian In SF Gets Chesa Boudin's "Restorative Justice" Instead Of, You Know, Justice
See, earlier: New San Francisco DA Chesa Boudin Promises to Stop Gang Enhancements to Protect "Criminals of Color"
Just as predicted, we are rapidly moving to a future where black people will not be arrested for their violent crimes.
SF DA withdraws charges in attack on elderly man, chooses ‘restorative justice’ model instead , KTVU.com, March 3, 2020
The San Francisco District Attorney withdrew charges on Monday against one of two suspects in a widely publicized attack on a Chinese man who had been collecting recyclables in San Francisco’s Bayview district.
Chesa Boudin first told the Chronicle that his office will pursue a “restorative justice” model against 20-year-old Dwayne Grayson, who was arrested last week on suspicion of robbery, elder abuse, a hate crime charge and probation violation following the attack on Feb. 22.
San Francisco police said Grayson recorded the attack and posted it to social media. The second suspect, Jonathan Amerson, 56, turned himself in on Sunday, and was booked on charges of robbery and elder abuse.
Boudin charged Grayson with elder abuse but decided to change his mind after talking with the elderly man, DA spokesman Alex Bastian, told the Chronicle. Boudin did not make mention of changing his charging decision in Amerson’s case.
If restorative justice does not work, the district attorney’s office told the Chronicle Boudin will still have the option to file criminal charges.
The elderly man has not been identified or spoken publicly about the ordeal. At the time, he had been collecting items on Oceola Lane when he was attacked for no apparent reason. Suspects are seen on video stealing from him, and one of them appears to try and strike the him with a weapon.
As onlookers filmed and taunted the man, someone in the background can be heard saying, “I hate Asians.”
No need to reinvent the wheel: All eyes should be on California in 2020, where criminal justice reform policies are being implemented at frightening pace, theoretical concepts preached in academia vanquishing law and order and promoted by those prepared to fight white privilege with woke policies geared to advance the lives of criminals of color!
One wonders if Asian Americans in San Francisco will tolerate this black attack on a member of their community, and the Bolshevik DA deciding “restorative justice” is a better punishment than jail.
What might “restorative justice” be? An alternative/inversion to the white man’s concept of law and order :
When District Attorney Boudin announced he would forego hate crime charges against one of the suspects in favor of restorative justice, people voiced their frustrations. Many are under the impression that restorative justice is just an excuse to let criminals off easy. In reality, restorative justice is a blanket term for a concept that has been practiced by indigenous communities for thousands of years. Rather than exercising retribution or punishment against their own, they would seek resolutions to repair the harm done to the victim, correct the behavior of the perpetrator, and heal any ruptures within the community. If facilitated under those same principles, restorative justice can still be effective in today’s society. San Francisco is the right place to start.
Restorative justice is not just a buzzword, it’s a real practice that’s shown real results. Professor Mary Louise Frampton conducted a five-year study of the Fresno County Juvenile Court’s restorative justice program, which operated as an alternative to incarceration for eligible offenders. Over several conferences with mediators, juvenile offenders would meet with their victims and work out agreements about how to best repair the harm done. The court reviewed the agreements and supervised their completion. The outcome has been remarkable, and other counties should take note.
We are in the late stages of the American experiment, where Bolsheviks have been elected to enact their anti-white agenda in the judicial system, though it remains to be seen if the Asian-American community will acquiesce in the face of injustice.
Black-on-Jewish attacks in NY, Black-on-Asian attacks in SF: Same progressive rule By Monica Showalter
As if San Francisco were not disgusting enough with its corruption, poop patrols, and unpunished street crime, there's now this sort of brutality going on:
Deniiise @RogueCharisma
Racially charged attack on elderly Asian man. This Asian man was just trying to make ends meet for his family by collecting cans. Then he got attacked, he didn’t deserve this. this is ignorant, inhumane, & disgusting. Heartbroken Retweet.

According to the Daily Mail:
The video begins with one onlooker walking towards the man, wielding a pole and using it to hit him on the head. Others laugh and jeer as the victim runs away.
As the man walks away one eyewitness comments: 'Uh oh, he's scared.'
The man turns back, in an apparent effort to get his belongings back.
Another shouts: 'Man, hey, go get your cans, man. Go get your cans, man, don’t be scared.'
The person recording the clip shouts: 'He just robbed your dumb ass. They are his cans. Go get your s***. I hate Asians.'
As the camera zooms in on the man's face he can be seen crying and visibly distressed by the incident.
Those around him mock his tears, continuing to film him as he cries.
It was a miasma of aggression and profanity and disturbing as anything ever seen, given the raw rage and aggression directed at the completely blameless, vulnerable man. It wasn't enough to rob him of his day's or weeks' labors, these thugs (and that's the only correct descriptor) also had a vile need to degrade, humiliate and film him, too.
It's obviously a case of black-on-Asian violence, and not the first instance. Combine it with illegal-on-Asian violence, which is yet another issue, and life must be hell for impovershed Asians in San Francisco.
Where does that kind of hate come from? Who teaches these miserable excuses for humanity this sort of sadism? And where does this hate of a poor old Asian collecting used cans for pennies in stratospheric-costly San Francisco come from? This was no 'Crazy Rich Asians' of movie lore, this was a man who, unlike the thugs who attacked him, actually worked, for a pittance. The thugs by contrast, and they are quite strong and well fed, appeared to have lived lives of leisure courtesy of the state.
The answers are not immediately obvious but some kind of critical mass has been reached and here's a first clue: This kind of black-on-Asian hate is boiling up in progressive one-party San Francisco in exactly the same way black-on-Jewish attacks went on in Bill de Blasio's New York, where a string of violent black-led attacks on blameless Jews occurred. Correlation is not causation, but we sure as heck don't see this kind of thing going on in conservative-run cities. As I noted at the time of the New York attacks :
It's shocking, not only because the number of unprovoked attacks on Jewish people just minding their own business and going about their daily lives are very numerous -- nine at last count within about a week -- but because within the violence itself is a tissue of lies, explicit and implicit, from silky enablers to conceal and euphemize what's really happening. In every case, the victim was Jewish and the attacker was black. That's a politically incorrect to the press and its leftist allies, but it's true.
Here's a second and third clue, off Twitter, where one of its denizens claims to have found a perpetrator:

VIDEO: Chicago Family Become Victims of Smash-and-Grab in San Francisco with Toddlers in Car
2:41
It was a scary moment for a Chicago family targeted during a smash-and-grab while they visited San Francisco recently.
Several family members and two toddlers were sitting inside the vehicle when the incident occurred near Lombard Street and a witness was able to take pictures of the suspects, KRON reported Wednesday.
What shocked them more than anything else was it took place while children were sitting in the vehicle’s back seat.
Another aspect that made the incident different from others was one of the victims had a device in the stolen bag that has since tracked the moves of the alleged thieves.
“I was in the car when it happened. All I could hear was a smash and then I said no, I jumped out of the car but it was quick. It was five seconds,” Kimberly Balde explained.
She and her sister Katherine had parked their rental car near Lombard Street Monday when the incident took place
“You could see that people were in the car so each seat was taken and my two daughters were in the back, one’s two and one’s four and it was behind the 4-year-old and like I said she seen him, he had a ski mask on, and he was wearing all black. And she said, ‘that ninja took that bag,'” Katherine added.
A resident saw the incident, took photos of the suspects, and claimed three vehicles circling the area were involved.
According to Kimberly, her bag was stolen with her computer, headphones, Katherine’s passport, the childrens’ birth certificates, and other items.
“It’s an organized crime for sure, like, they have it very well thought out. It was a five-second deal and if they can get away with it in five seconds why wouldn’t they keep doing it,” she said.
Meanwhile, San Francisco’s Union Square, the high-end shopping area at the city’s center, boarded up for the Christmas shopping season following numerous “mass looting” incidents that started the weekend before Thanksgiving.
“Some retailers have called on Mayor London Breed to resign after championing proposals to reduce funding to the police. District Attorney Chesa Boudin faces a recall election, driven by residents who are frustrated by his refusal to prosecute petty and “quality of life” crimes in the city,” Breitbart News reported December 1.
In addition, statistics showed the epidemic of car break-ins was growing worse in San Francisco, KPIX reported Wednesday:

The sisters told KRON they knew about all the break-ins prior to their visit but did not expect one to happen so quickly and while they were inside the vehicle.
They filed a police report and also gave officials information regarding the tracking device on the laptop.
