From April 2020 to April 2021, more than 100,000 Americans died from drug overdoses, according to data from the National Center for Health Statistics. An overwhelming majority of those deaths came from opioids, and fentanyl smuggling has surged at the southern border since the start of Joe Biden's presidency.Joseph Simonson and Collin Anderson

The DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency) reported in January 2020 that China is the primary source of fentanyl:

Currently, China remains the primary source of fentanyl and fentanyl-related substances trafficked through international mail and express consignment operations environment, as well as the main source for all fentanyl-related substances trafficked into the United States.

We know that drugs that kill Americans are smuggled through the Mexico-USA border.  A border wall and border security would greatly reduce the amount of drugs, which would reduce the number of drug overdose deaths.

Yet Joe Biden and  the Democrats and media oppose building the wall.

President Lopez-Obrador and the Wall

By Silvio Canto, Jr.

Over the last few years, I've had conversations with friends in Mexico.  We usually end up talking about the border.  For us, the border is illegal immigration.  For Mexicans, it's guns and cash corrupting a very fragile political system.

As a Mexican friend said recently, the cartels have the politicians in their pockets, especially in the small towns where many of these vans full of cash and guns drive through.

There are many reasons to build that border wall, as former Secretary of Education William Bennett said on Sunday:

By weight, 86 percent of heroin that entered the

United States in 2016 was of Mexican origin,

according statistics from the Drug Enforcement

 Administration.

"After 9/11 we shut down the border. When we shut down the border, drugs didn't come in," Bennett said. "If you shut down that border, if you close it off, if you build a wall, it can have a real and profound difference."

There is another reason, as any rational Mexican will tell you.

On a weekly basis, lots of cash and guns go south.  They are the profits and rewards of the drugs going north.  According to unofficial estimates:

Officials in Mexico believe the tide of laundered money could be as high as $50bn per year, a sum equal to about three per cent of Mexico's legitimate economy -- more than all its oil exports or spending on key social programmes. Internationally, money laundering represents between two and five per cent of global GDP, or between $800bn and $2tn annually, according to the UNODC.

It would be more difficult for money or guns to go south if you had a wall on the border.

So President Trump should pick up the phone and call President Lopez-Obrador.  He should thank him for keeping the caravans in Mexico and discuss the benefits of the border wall.  Why wouldn't the Mexican president support the wall?  I'm sure that the Mexican army and police would love to see that wall go up.

The lack of a stable border hurts both sides.

EAGLE PASS, Texas — Despite a law enforcement presence on both sides of the Rio Grande, a CBP source says more than 600 migrants were apprehended after entering the United States on Thursday.

The source says the arrests in Eagle Pass accounted for more than 50 percent of the apprehensions within the Del Rio Sector that day.

A rescue team in Mexico, “Grupo Beta,” patrolled the river periodically in an airboat as troops with the Mexican National Guard watched. The Mexican National Guard, known as “La Guardia Nacional,” had little apparent impact.

On the United States side of the Rio Grande, Border Patrol agents performed similar marine activities.

Texas National Guard troops standing along a makeshift wall of shipping containers watched over the river and took migrants into custody. Soldiers waited with family units until Border Patrol transports arrived.

One unaccompanied migrant child walked through a gap in the Texas border wall currently under construction. The wall is nearing completion, however, gates along roadways have yet to be installed. A Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol trooper spotted the youth and turned the migrant over to Border Patrol.

In a revolving door fashion, Border Patrol agents made several trips to the Eagle Pass International Bridge to return mostly single adult migrants to Mexico under the CDC Title 42 Emergency COVID-19 order. The source says these scenarios are playing out daily and have challenged the agency’s ability to keep up with the constant flow.

The source says there are no “off days,” meaning the flow of migrants is constant. The source says the Rio Grande Valley still maintains a firm lead in overall apprehensions.

The migrant crossings are occurring in the downtown area and more remote ones around the city. The constant flow is creating a sense of frustration among residents by the lack of a coherent federal response.

Recently, nearly 200 migrants crossed the Rio Grande near Normandy, Texas, in one single event north of Eagle Pass. The larger groups are mostly Venezuelan, Cuban, and Nicaraguan migrants.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced the State began construction of its own border wall. The announcement comes as construction crews began erecting bollard walls in the Rio Grande Valley Sector on Texas-owned property.

“Texas has officially started building its own border wall,” Governor Abbott tweeted on Friday. “Texas is stepping up to do the federal government’s job.”

“Three billion dollars of Texas taxpayer money has been devoted to this cause of Texas securing the border, and so we have a lot of money available to us to continue to build the wall,” the Texas governor said during an interview on Fox News’ “Varney & Co.” “For Texas [this] is going to cost less than it did for the Trump administration for one reason. And that’s because in Texas, unlike the Trump administration, we’re not having to devote money to acquire the land …The state of Texas owns [land] on the border itself.”

“There are property owners of massive acreage on the border who are fed up with Biden’s open border policies,” Abbott added, “and they are donating their land to Texas for us to be able to use that land for free to build a wall on their property.”

Earlier this year, the State of Texas began building additional border barriers in the Del Rio Sector which is now the second-busiest of the nine southwest border sectors.

Friday’s announcement of construction in Starr County, Texas, comes on the same day U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced that Border Patrol agents apprehended an additional 173,620 migrants in November, Breitbart Texas reported. Of those, 47,710 apprehensions — an increase of more than 175 percent over the previous November apprehensions — took place in the Rio Grande Valley Sector where the new state-funded construction project began.

Farage Predicts ‘Doom’ for Boris at Election over Borders as ‘Hundreds’ More Illegals Land

DOVER, ENGLAND - AUGUST 12: Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage speaks to supporters and media on August 12, 2020 in Dover, England. Favourable weather conditions in recent weeks have led to a rise in people attempting to cross the channel, with more than 200 people arriving on the Kent coast …

Brexit leader Nigel Farage has warned that the Tories may be “doomed” at the next general election unless they deal with the migrant crisis in the English Channel, claiming that “six hundred migrants” landed in Britain on Thursday.

While Mr Farage predicted that the market town of North Shropshire, which Boris Johnson just lost to the Liberal Democrats in a by-election, will “in all probability go back to the Conservatives” at the next general election, he warned that a “bigger problem” which continues to unfold in the waters between England and France could cost the party even more seats when the country next goes to the polls.

In a video published to YouTube, Mr Farage claimed that “hours before that result was declared, the Dover lifeboat was called out by the coast guard, following 600 people who illegally crossed the English Channel yesterday”, and further alleged that by early Friday morning another four boats had already been brought into the Dover harbour.

While media reports had not corroborated Mr Farage’s claims of hundreds of illegals making it to Britain via France on Thursday, the Daily Mail had reported around 100 arrivals by Thursday afternoon. Local media outlet KentOnline also reported that “large numbers of people” had been brought ashore at the port town of Dover, while Sky News reported yesterday that “plenty” of boats are still leaving French shores — these reports coming after weeks of relative silence from the press on migrant landings.

It has been estimated that over 23,500 illegal migrants have made the crossing this year, with actual numbers most likely being higher as not everyone who crosses is caught.

Farage has suggested migration was a major worry for voters in the North Shropshire by-election which resulted in an embarrassing defeat for Conservatives, who lost the seat that they held for nearly 200 years to the Liberal Democrats.

Reports surfaced that it cost the British taxpayer an estimated £1.4 billion last year to accommodate illegal migrants.

“This is an issue not just in North Shropshire, but crucially in the Red Wall, and these are areas of voters who’ve normally been Labour,” Mr Farage said.

“Taking back control of our borders, reducing the numbers [of migrants] coming into Britain was the reason [historical Labour voters] voted Brexit, the reason they were happy to vote for the Conservatives in 2o19, and I promise you this issue is going right to the top of British politics.”

The Conservative Party’s once 80-seat majority won in 2019 was in large part delivered by former ‘Red Wall’ voters choosing to vote Conservative, some for the first time ever.

The ‘Red Wall’ refers to industrial areas of Britain, that were once home to coal mines, steel plants, and manufacturing, largely in the North of England, were where the working-class voters typically supported Labour — whose traditional colour is red.

These regions are similar to the so-called ‘Rust Belt’ in the United States.

Immigration is particularly important to Red Wall voters as their communities were disproportionately affected by the “unprecedented influx” of migrants orchestrated by Tony Blair in the late ’90s and 2000s, which has continued largely unabated under the Conservatives.

In his address, Farage once again suggested the solution to ending “huge numbers of young men” coming into Britain is to introduce an Australia-style migration system.

In 2013, former Australian prime minister Tony Abbott’s government launched Operation Sovereign Borders, under which migrant boats are intercepted at sea and either brought to offshore processing centres or returned to their country of origin. This operation helped reduce the number of migrant boats that land in the country to virtually zero.

“The Conservatives are going to be doomed at the next election unless they have a leader with the courage to deal with what’s happening in the English Channel and I don’t think it’s Boris Johnson anymore,” Farage said.

Prosecutor Wants 15 Years for Alleged Trafficker Linked to Death of 39 Migrants

The Belgian Federal Prosecutor’s Office wants a sentence of at least 15 years for alleged people-trafficker Vo Van Hong, who is accused of being connected to the deaths of 39 people in a truck in southern England in 2019.

The 45-year-old Vietnamese national is on trial for the deaths of 39 people, who were also Vietnamese nationals, along with 22 others, who the prosecutor wants to be sentenced to terms of between one year and ten years.

Federal prosecutor Ann Lukowiak has stated that Mr Van Hong was the leader of the smuggling network and called for the Criminal Court of Bruges to hand down a 15-year prison sentence along with a fine of €920,000 (£783,365/$1,038,891) in the case, broadcaster RTBF reports.

Lukowiak has alleged that the 45-year-old is the Belgian head of a smuggling network that has links to others in Germany and France and is believed to have been linked to the trafficking of at least 115 people.

Another man named Long is also said to have been a key figure in the network, and the prosecutor has asked that he face a ten-year prison sentence for his role.

Other defendants in the case include lower-level members of the network, such as taxi drivers who helped transport migrants.

The trial comes just over two years from after the bodies of the 39 migrants, eight women and 31 men, were discovered abandoned in a refrigerated lorry in Grays, Essex in October of 2019, just four days after the vehicle had crossed from Ireland to the United Kingdom.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson commented on the incident at the time saying: “This is an unimaginable tragedy and truly heart-breaking. I know that the thoughts and prayers of all Members [of Parliament] will be with those who lost their lives and their loved ones.”

The trial also comes in the same week that a Latvian people-smuggler was arrested in connection to a similar incident that saw two Syrian migrants left to suffocate to death in a van by the side of the road in Austria earlier this year.

At the height of the European migrant crisis in 2015, people-smugglers abandoned a truck containing 71 migrants, who were later found dead. The case helped to prompt former Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel to declare that refugees were welcome in Germany, which in turn led to a flood of mass migration.

In 2018, four people-smugglers connected with the case were sentenced to 25 years each for their role in the deaths of the 59 men, eight women and four children.

Zuckerberg’s FWD.us Claims No Amnesty Ensures Midterm Defeat for Democrats

The Facebook-funded FWD.us investor advocacy group is touting the claim that Democrat turnout will drop in 2022 if the party cannot pass an amnesty through Congress.

But that claim is toothless, in large part because recent polls show that many Americans of Latino ancestry are increasingly voting for the GOP, precisely because GOP leaders oppose the amnesty-amplified wave of cheap labor into their communities.

The claim is being made by pro-migration groups, including the leaders of the National Day Laborer Organizing Network (NDLON) which denounced the Senate’s parliamentarian’s decision to exclude the parole amnesty for 6.5 million illegals from the draft Build Back Better spending plan.

NDLON declared Thursday night:

Democrats’ excuses for their failure, for their incompetence, and for their insincerity will be the ammunition used by xenophobes in the Republican Party to retake control of the federal government in upcoming elections. Inaction on immigration legalization risks further propelling Trumpism in every possible way … No more excuses. Where there is a will, there is a way.

The NDLON group represents illegal migrants, most of whom work for very low wages, and none of whom can vote in U.S. elections.

Rep. Lou Correa (D-Calif.) is making the same claim, according to Bloomberg, which reported that he “warned that Democrats would face wrath from voters in the 2022 elections if they don’t secure a citizenship path”

But the NDLON claim is being echoed by the politically powerful investor class, who use imported workers, consumers, and renters to spike the value of their Wall Street investments.

Todd Schulte is the president of the FWD.us advocacy group for investors, which gets about $30 million a year from the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative to push for more migration. On Thursday night, he tweeted:

Schulte’s deputy also pushed a hard line:

Unsurprisingly, FWD.us has a hidden agenda in the amnesty debate.

The establishment media extensively cover the proposed parole amnesty for 6.5 million illegal migrants. But the media largely ignores  two other proposed changes to immigration laws that would deliver huge benefits to West Coast investors who created the FWD.us advocacy group in 2013.

For example, the BBB legislation would allow the White House to provide green cards to millions of favored migrants, including perhaps three million “chain migrants” selected by recent immigrants. This open-doors policy would provide investors with millions of new profit-generating consumers, renters, and workers.

The BBB legislation would also allow President Joe Biden’s pro-migration deputies to sell green cards to at least one million migrants who have taken many of the Fortune 500 jobs sought by skilled U.S. college graduates. This change would allow Fortune 500 companies to hire many more foreign graduates with dangled offers of fast-track green cards. These workers are usually imported via the visa worker programs, such as the H-1B and Optional Practical Training program.

But those two benefits for the Fortune 500 investors may be dropped if the Democrat senators cannot also get their amnesty for illegal migrants.

On Friday, an advocacy group for corporate-funded immigration lawyers urged Congress to keep pushing the green card giveaway, even after the amnesty was nixed:

“The corporate guys are riding on perceived sympathy for the illegal alien population in order to get their immigration giveaways,” said Robert Law, the director of regulatory affairs and policy at the Center for Immigration Studies. He continued:

The Hispanic population knows immigration is a pocketbook issue for them as well, and mass illegal immigration — plus legal immigration — hurts the economic opportunities of Hispanic Americans or the black community, or any people who typically are competing at the lower end of the economic spectrum.

The Senate’s debate referee has not issued any judgments on the two green card proposals.

Zuckerberg’s FWD.us network of coastal investors stands to gain from more cheap labor, government-aided consumers, and urban renters. The network has funded many astroturf campaigns, urged Democrats to not talk about the economic impact of migration, and manipulated coverage by the TV networks and the print media.

FWD.us’also spotlights many family dramas amid the inflow of border migrants. This focus helps keep reporters from recognizing the huge pocketbook impact of the establishment’s economic policy of mass migration. The resulting family-drama coverage also keeps many young progressives from noticing that the extraction migration policy drives up their rents and cuts their salaries.

The breadth of investors who founded and funded FWD.us was hidden from casual visitors to the group’s website sometime in the last few months. But copies exist at other sites.

Mexico: Where Is Your Shame?

At a demonstration Wednesday in Mexico City against Arizona's law.

ASSOCIATED PRESS

Immigration: Mexico's government gloated triumphantly after a federal judge's injunction blocked Arizona's immigration law. But it's no victory for Mexico. In fact, Mexico's leaders ought to be mortified.

As radical immigration activists crowed with glee and the Obama administration claimed victory, Mexico's government joined the applause.

Calling Judge Susan Bolton's injunction Wednesday "a step in the right direction," Mexican Foreign Minister Patricia Espinosa declared: "The government of Mexico would like to express its recognition for the determination demonstrated by the federal government of the United States and the actions of the civil organizations that organized lawsuits against the SB 1070 law."

In reality, it ought to be ashamed. Supposedly framed as an issue of federal power pre-empting state power, it's hardly Mexico's business. But Mexico made a big show of saying its interest was in protecting its nationals from the dreadful racism of Arizona that its own citizens, curiously enough, keep fleeing to.

Espinosa said her government was busy collecting data on civil rights violations and her department had issued an all-out travel warning to Mexican nationals about Arizona.

That's where Mexico's hypocrisy is just too much. PROBABLY UP JOE BIDEN'S ASS!

First, Mexico encourages illegal immigration to the U.S. Oh, it says it doesn't, but it prints comic book guides for would-be illegal immigrants and provides ID cards for illegals once they get here. In Arizona alone, Mexico keeps five consulates busy.

That's not out of love for its own citizens, but because Mexicans send cash back to Mexico that helps finance the government.

Instead of selling its wasteful state-owned oil company or getting rid of red tape to create jobs in Mexico, Mexico spends the hard currency from remittances. It fails to look at why its citizens leave.

According to the Heritage Foundation-Wall Street Journal 2010 Index of Economic Freedom, Mexico's big problem is — no shock — government corruption, where it ranks below the world average.

That's where Mexico's cartels come in.

Mexico's encouragement of illegal immigration undercuts its valiant war against its smuggling cartels. The cartels' prowess and firepower have made them the only ones who can smuggle effectively across the border. U.S. law enforcers say they now control human-smuggling on our southern border.

Feed them immigrants and they grow more cash-rich — and right now, immigrant smuggling is about a third of the cartels' income.

Mass graves and car bombings are signs of criminal organizations getting bigger, and more powerful. Juarez, which has lost 5,000 people this year, bleeds because cartels fight over not just who gets the drug routes, but who gets the illegal-immigrant smuggling routes, too.

Aside from the cartel mayhem in Mexico, the bodies are piling up in the Arizona desert and U.S. Border Patrol rescues of abandoned illegals left to die have risen.

It's not the desert's fault, and it's certainly not Uncle Sam's fault, as activists claim. No, it's the fact that Mexicans are encouraged to emigrate. Criminal cartels don't fear abandoning their human cargo in the desert, as long as Mexico does nothing and blames Uncle Sam.

Hearing Mexico's government now cheer the Arizona ruling, which will only encourage more illegal immigration, gives the country's regime a pretty inhuman face.

If Mexico had any decency, it would do all it could to discourage illegal immigration and keep a respectful silence about Arizona.

It needs U.S. support for its war on cartels. Instead of insulting American citizens, Mexico should confront directly the reasons why its people are so desperate to leave, and do all in its power to destroy the cartels that are slowly killing the nation. That includes defunding the murderous gangs by halting illegal immigration.
