An illegal alien has been sentenced after being convicted for stealing a disabled American veteran’s identity to secure public welfare benefits and commit crimes, federal prosecutors reveal.

Late last week, 59-year-old Fernando Arroyo-Alonso, an illegal alien from Mexico, was sentenced to a year and one day in federal prison for stealing the Social Security Number of a disabled United States Armed Forces veteran.

According to prosecutors, Alonso submitted an application in May 2019 to receive Title XVI Supplemental Security Income — cash payments that are reserved for elderly, blind, or disabled Americans — using the veteran’s Social Security Number.

The veteran had been receiving Title XVI Supplemental Security Income and benefits from Veterans Affairs.

Later, prosecutors said Alonso used the veteran’s Social Security Number to secure an Ohio driver’s license, the state where he had been living. The veteran, though, did not reside in Ohio. In addition, Alonso went on to commit crimes under the veteran’s identity.

Prosecutors said Alonso will be deported to Mexico following his prison sentence.

As Breitbart News has long chronicled, Americans are often the victims of identity theft by illegal aliens. A federal audit in 2020 revealed that nearly 400,000 Americans have unknowingly had their identities stolen, typically by illegal aliens, and were never notified by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

In 2019, federal auditors said they discovered more than 883,000 cases of employment identity theft after reviewing more than a million tax returns. Of those cases, 393,000 identity theft victims were never notified by the IRS, including more than 133,000 children whose parents remain unaware of their child’s stolen identity.

Honduran Migrant Sentenced in International Murder-for-Hire Case in Texas

A federal judge in Beaumont, Texas, sentenced a Honduran national to prison following his guilty plea in an international murder-for-hire scheme. The man pleaded guilty in July to soliciting the murder of family members in Honduras.

Santos Orellana-Hernandez, a 47-year-old Honduran living in Port Arthur, Texas, pleaded guilty in July 2021 to the use of interstate commerce facilities in the commission of murder for hire. He also pleaded guilty to tampering with a witness by intimidation and threats and conspiracy to commit witness tampering, according to a statement from the U.S. Attorneys Office for the Eastern District of Texas issued Wednesday.

U.S. District Court Judge Thad Heartfield sentenced Orellana-Hernandez to 100 months in prison.

Federal court records reveal that Orellana-Hernandez hired who the FBI referred to as a hitman, Gustavo Ramirez, to murder four extended family members in Honduras. The document stated the defendant offered to pay Ramirez $200,000 Lempira ($8,000 USD) to murder his mother-in-law, his wife’s uncle, his wife’s ex-boyfriend, and the ex-boyfriend’s mother. He said he wanted the killings to inflict pain on his wife he was divorcing at the time.

The hits were to take place on or after April 21, 2020, the date his divorce was scheduled to be finalized, the criminal complaint states. He said he would utilize proceeds from the divorce to pay the hitman. The hitman was required to provide photographic evidence of the murders.

Ramirez supplied the FBI a recording of conversations with Orellana-Hernandez regarding the murder-for-hire scheme. In the recording, the FBI said the defendant spoke with the hitman about “planting the corn” — code for burying the victims’ bodies.

The complaint lays out Orellana-Hernandez’s criminal history of domestic violence against his wife and her mother. The couple had been separated for several years prior to the divorce proceedings.

A federal grand jury indicted the defendant in May 2020, the DOJ reported. A superseding indictment in November 2020 added the additional charges related to witness tampering.

“This case exemplifies excellent local and federal law enforcement cooperation, and the FBI collaborated with our international partners in Honduras to successfully stop a senseless act of violence by Orellana-Hernandez,” U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Texas Brit Featherston said in a written statement.
“Crimes of violence, here or abroad, will not be tolerated and all the tools of law enforcement will be utilized to stop violent crime and prosecute the perpetrators to the fullest extent of the law,” Featherston added.

Breitbart Texas reached out to the U.S. Attorneys Office for the Eastern District of Texas regarding the immigration status and history of the defendant. An immediate response was not available.

Joe Biden Says Break up Build Back Better Bill, Stays Silent on Amnesty, Migration

WASHINGTON, DC - JANUARY 19: U.S. President Joe Biden answers questions during a news conference in the East Room of the White House on January 19, 2022 in Washington, DC. With his approval rating hovering around 42-percent, Biden is approaching the end of his first year in the Oval Office …

President Joe Biden used his White House press conference to suggest Democrats break up the Build Back Better (BBB) legislation — and pointedly declined to describe the bill’s amnesty and migration-expansion sections as priorities.

“It’s clear to me that we’re going to have to probably break it up,” Biden said, adding:

I’ve been talking to a number of my colleagues on the Hill. I think it’s clear that we would be able to get support for the $500-plus billion dollars for energy and the environmental issues that are there … I know that the two people who opposed [the legislation] on the Democratic side support a number of things that are in there. For example, [Sen.] Joe Manchin strongly supports early education, [for kids] three and four years of age, strongly supports it. There is strong support for a number of the ways in which to pay for this proposal.

“I think we can break the package up, get as much as we can now, and come back and fight for the rest later,” he said.

No reporters from Fortune 500 new organizations asked about immigration, even though the issue elected Donald Trump to the White House in 2016.

Biden’s huge BBB bill hides several huge immigration measures — but those unpopular measures would be exposed to public scrutiny if the bill is fragmented into small portions.

The bill includes an amnesty for millions of resident illegal migrants without creating protections against future migration.

It includes a short section that would dramatically accelerate the inflow of chain migrants — so spiking house prices.

The bill also includes a short section that would allow Fortune 500 companies to hire myriad compliant foreign graduates with offers of green cards, so allowing CEOs to stop hiring many trained American graduates.

The bill — and the hidden immigration changes — is being blocked by the closed-door opposition of a few Democratic Senators and the unified opposition of GOP Senators.

Biden did mention the migration issue, but only in passing as he complained that the GOP leaders in the Senate, Sen. Mitch McConnell, has refused to help pass legislation:

I think that the fundamental question is; What’s Mitch for? What’s he for on immigration? … What’s he for on dealing with Russia?  … I’ve laid out the proposal on immigration that if we passed, we’d be in a totally different place right now. We’re not there because we don’t have a single Republican vote. My buddy Sen. John McCain is gone.

Republicans are not cooperating with Biden because they’re afraid of the GOP base, he said:

I’ve had five Republican Senators talk to me, bump into me, quote unquote, who have told me they agree with whatever I’m talking about. [They said] “But Joe, if I do [work with you] I’ll get defeated in the primary.”

We’ve got to break that. It’s got to change … Did any of you think that you get to a point where not a single Republican diverges [from the party] on a major issue?
