Five Human Smuggling Attempts Foiled in South Texas in 11 Hours

Border Patrol agents in the Texas Rio Grande Valley foiled five migrant smuggling attempts in less than 11 hours. The human smuggling ventures spanned from Wednesday evening through Thursday morning, with one causing significant property damage after smugglers abandoned a vehicle in tall grass. The ensuing brush fire destroyed the vehicle and burned privately owned ranch land.

On Wednesday evening, Border Patrol officials received a call from a concerned citizen regarding migrants getting into a vehicle near Mission, Texas. Responding Border Patrol agents attempted to stop a van they believed was related to the call. The van led agents on a pursuit from there into the city of Pharr. With the aid of a U.S Customs and Border Protection Air and Marine Operations helicopter crew, 15 mostly Central American migrants who had entered the country illegally were apprehended. The driver managed to escape and was not apprehended.

Simultaneously, near San Manuel, Texas, Border Patrol agents attempted to stop a Ford Flex on U.S. Highway 281. Agents suspected the driver was smuggling humans on the busy highway leading out of the Rio Grande Valley. Again, a chase ensued that eventually ended when the driver of the suspect vehicle drove onto a private ranch to avoid the pursuing agents.

The driver abandoned the vehicle in tall dry grass and escaped. As Border Patrol agents searched the area for the occupants of the vehicle, the grass caught fire underneath the abandoned vehicle. The vehicle was completely consumed in flames and destroyed. Firefighters responded and managed to extinguish the fire but were unable to save the vehicle. While one migrant was apprehended, the smuggler managed to escape.

Within minutes, Border Patrol agents on U.S. Highway 77 attempted to stop and inspect a vehicle near Norias, Texas. The driver of that vehicle also failed to yield and led Border Patrol agents on a pursuit. The driver drove the vehicle into a private ranch by breaching a closed gate to avoid arrest. Agents observed several people exit the vehicle and run into the brush. The agents apprehended seven migrants from Guatemala. The driver was not apprehended.

On Thursday morning, Border Patrol agents pursued another vehicle near San Manuel, Texas — a Ford pickup truck that failed to yield to Border Patrol agents and sped away. After leading the agents on a pursuit, the driver veered off the highway and stopped. Multiple occupants fled from the vehicle to escape. Border Patrol agents managed to apprehend five migrants after a search of the area. The driver once again escaped.

In nearby Escobares, Texas, a Chevrolet Suburban caught the eye of Border Patrol agents when they observed suspected migrants getting into the vehicle. Agents stopped the vehicle and attempted to identify the occupants. The driver fled from the scene and could not be located. The vehicle was transporting 21 migrants cramped inside.

In just three months of the current fiscal year, from October through December, Border Patrol agents in the Rio Grande Valley sector apprehended 137,239 migrants illegally entering the country. The number of migrant apprehensions is nearly triple the amount apprehended in the same time frame last year.

A series of leaked audio and video conversations between rank-and-file Border Patrol agents and Department of Homeland Security leadership reveal that agents have grown tired of the Biden administration’s border policies. During several visits across the southwest border this week, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and U.S. Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz received the brunt of pushback from frustrated agents.

In a Townhall exclusive report, a leaked audio recording reveals DHS Secretary Mayorkas’ acknowledging the frustrations and telling the agents, “The job has not gotten any easier over the last few months, and it was very, very difficult throughout 2021. I know apprehending families and kids is not what you signed up to do,” Mayorkas told the agents.

On Wednesday, Mayorkas told agents he appreciated their candor, as he was asked how DHS can reconcile saying border security is the Border Patrol’s main mission, yet they are unable to patrol the border due to the lax immigration policies the Biden administration currently has in place. Mayorkas responded by saying “I know the policies of this administration are not particularly popular with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, but that’s the reality, and let’s see what we can do within the framework.”

Mayorkas told the agents DHS is trying to work with the Mexican government to stop the flow of immigrants before they reach the U.S. border. According to Townhall, the agent who asked the question then turned his back on Mayorkas. He responded by saying, “Let me just say, you can turn your back on me, but I’ll never turn my back on you.” The agent responded by saying Mayorkas turned his back on the agents first.

Agents also addressed concerns about facility overcrowding and that they have been demonized by politicians while doing their jobs — perhaps referring to allegations against the agency’s mounted horse patrol earlier this year. In that instance, agents on horseback in Del Rio, Texas, were accused of whipping Haitian migrants.

In a leaked video recording on Thursday, Border Patrol agents in Laredo, Texas, engaged in a tense exchange with Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz after expressing concerns about morale to Secretary Mayorkas. The secretary quickly handed the question off to Chief Ortiz.

Chief Ortiz responded to the question by attempting to address employee resiliency issues and the need for new programs designed to help agents with mental and physical preparedness. Ortiz told the Border Patrol agents, “We tear each other down instead of building each other up.”

Ortiz pressed the agent saying, “I get it, you come to work, you’re frustrated. You’re upset because you didn’t get the desired outcome that you want. Doesn’t mean you give up.” The exchange became heated as the agent responded by saying, “I’m not.”

As Ortiz told the agents that they all raised their hands and signed up to do what is being asked of them. One agent interrupted to say, “To defend the Constitution.” At one point, another agent told Ortiz, “You keep releasing criminal aliens into the country.”

One Border Patrol agent told Ortiz, “For evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing. That’s exactly what’s happening here. Good men are doing nothing! You’re allowing illegal aliens to be dropped off in communities.” Shortly afterward, a comment concerning funding and new vehicles broke the tension.

A source within the Border Patrol told Breitbart Texas that another visit at the Laredo South Border Patrol Station included similar exchanges between agents and Mayorkas. The source says, “Agents have had it. They’re fed up and are not going to remain silent any longer.”

Biden Asks Supreme Court to End Trump’s ‘Remain in Mexico’ Policy

President Joe Biden asked the U.S. Supreme Court to end the Trump-era Migrant Protection Protocols, commonly known as the “Remain in Mexico” policy.

The Biden administration filed a petition for certiorari asking the Supreme Court to hear its argument after lower federal courts found that Biden unconstitutionally ended MPP following a lawsuit filed by Texas and Missouri. 

MPP is a Trump-era immigration law that requires the federal government to send migrants back to Mexico while their asylum hearings are pending. 

The Supreme Court on January 19 denied a motion from Texas seeking to extend the time to file a response by one month.

Government lawyers want to expedite this case. The Biden administration is hopeful that the case will be heard before the end of the Court’s current term in June.

Immigration lawyer Aaron Reichlin-Melnick believes the Court will agree to hear the case. “My instinct says they are more likely than not to agree to hear the case this term,” he tweeted.

However, there is still the possibility that the Court will deny the Biden administration’s request to hear the case. “Of course, the Court could still deny the petition. Or it could grant the petition and rule against the Biden Administration,” tweeted Steve Vladeck. “But it’s a bit amusing that Texas thought no one would figure out that an extension would frustrate even the *opportunity* to resolve the case this Term.”

If the case is heard, some experts believe the conservative court will likely rule against the Biden administration. “It might be better for Biden to withdraw the petition to the Supreme Court and concentrate instead on improving the MPP program,” said Nolan Rappaport. 

In January 2021, President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) suspended new enrollments in MPP. The administration later terminated the program on June 1. A district court ordered Biden to “enforce and implement MPP in good faith” after Texas and Missouri sued the administration. 

The district court determined the MPP revocation violated the Administrative Procedure Act and mandatory detention provisions in federal law.

DHS issued a second revocation memorandum, but a circuit court of appeals affirmed the district court’s decision to require Biden to implement MPP in good faith. 

The case is Biden v. Texas, No. 21-954 in the Supreme Court of the United States.

Thirty-nine global migrants have died in the Atlantic, and another four Indian migrants — including two children — froze on the Canadian border while trying to accept the no-enforcement, no-deportations offer from President Joe Biden.

The growing number of dead migrants shows that “enforcing our immigration laws is the moral high ground,” regardless of the routine claims of racism pushed by pro-migration gorups, said Robert Law, the director of regulatory affairs at the Center for Immigration Studies. Immigration enforcement is the better moral choice, he said, because:

It keeps poor people out of the business of cartels and smugglers, and perhaps most importantly of all, it’s the moral high ground because it protects the most vulnerable Americans who are the ones that will suffer disproportionately from high levels of legal and illegal immigration.

The 39 migrants drowned while trying to cross from the Bahamas to Florida. One migrant survived:

The four Indian migrants died on January 19 as they walked across the border while trying to reach their smuggler. Canada’s NationalPost.com reported:

By accounts from India, they were from a large and supportive family with some assets, the father working as a teacher and owning farmland, and left their village just days before being consumed by the cold. Indian media have identified the victims as Jagdish Patel, 35, his wife, Vaishali, 33, their daughter Vihanga, 12, and son Dharmik, 3.

The deaths are caused by the U.S. government’s economic policy of extracting migrants from all over the world for use in the U.S. economy.

For example, Alejandro Mayorkas, the nation’s pro-migration border chief, has promised not to deport economic migrants who work jobs and avoid breaking laws unrelated to migration.

Mayorkas said on January 20, disregarding his legal duty to serve U.S. citizens:

We will not dedicate our limited enforcement resources to apprehend individuals who have been here in this country for many years who have been contributing members of our communities. Unlawful presence in the United States, alone, will not be a basis for immigration enforcement action … it is a matter of justice and equity as well.

In December, Mayorkas allowed another 150,000 economic migrants to cross the border from Mexico, putting him on track to welcome 2 million migrants in 2022.

The easy-migration policy is an economic stimulus for CEOs and investors who can profit from the extra consumers, renters, and cheap workers. But it is also a hit on American families, who face lower wages, more expensive housing, reduced investment, and crowded classrooms.

But there is little media coverage of the hundreds — perhaps thousands — of migrants who are dying while trying to reach the “justice and equity” welcome offered by Mayorkas, who arrived in the United States as a Cuban refugee in 1960.

“A lot of people are dying,” migration expert Todd Bensman told Breitbart News from the town of Tapachula in southern Mexico. He continued:

I’ve been hanging out with Africans for the last two days — Senegalese, Ghanaians, Nigerians — and all had to come through the Darien Gap [the jungle between South American and Central America where] they saw body after body rotting on the side of the trail. “There are corpses rotting everywhere” – I’ve heard stories like that for two years straight from the Darien Gap.

The Darien Gap is a rough trail over the mountains between Columbia and Panama. Many people — especially women — die along the trail.

“They said they were coming because of Joe Biden,” Bensman said, adding that Biden and his deputies “are absolutely culpable for the deaths and killings, and they’re doing it under the guise that their decisions are rooted in humanitarian impulses.”

Hundreds of migrants have also died in U.S. scrubland after they sneak past U.S. border guards to reach the welcomes offered by U.S. employers and progressives. On January 5, Breitbart News reported:

The International Organization for Migration’s Missing Migrant Program reports that 658 migrants are known to have died or gone missing in the U.S.-Mexico Border region during 2021. This is up from 476 (37 percent) during the final year of the Trump administration.

The deliberate extraction of healthcare workers from poor countries may also add to the death toll of foreigners.

Many more migrants are dying at sea, often without any trace of their deaths. The New York Times noted the rising level of deaths among illegal migrants in boats:

In July, nine Cubans went missing after capsizing 26 miles from Cuba, while 13 others survived. In May, 10 Cubans died and eight others survived a shipwreck south of Key West, Fla.

The death toll at sea is directly caused by the increasing flow of coastal migrants, many of whom expect to be released into the United States by Mayorkas if they are caught, according to the New York Times:

“It’s the worst it’s ever been,” said Mark Levan, a supervisory marine interdiction agent with the Office of Air and Marine operations in San Diego who has been on the job for 20 years. “It used to be there was one event taking place a week involving a migrant vessel. Now, most weeks it’s three or four, sometimes five.”

In California, criminal organizations are collecting $15,000 to $20,000 per Mexican national, and up to $70,000 for people from other countries, to transport people by sea, said Joseph Di Meglio, assistant special agent in charge of Homeland Security Investigations in San Diego. “The reality is it’s a low-risk, high-reward operation,” he said.

Pro-migration advocates were eager to slam Presidnet Donald Trump when a much smaller number of migrants died trying to sneak across the U.S. border. They now ignore the growing number of deaths caused by their support for economic migration, even as they claim that opponents of migration are bigots, said Law:

The progressive left doesn’t actually care about migrants’ suffering. They care more about opening America’s borders and erasing the idea of the United State as a country. The criticism of Trump was not that he treated aliens cruelly — it was that he actually defended and enforced the laws that impose restrictions and limitations [on migration] …

The Biden administration makes a mockery of the word “compassion” when throughout this past year, they’ve been saying “We’re the compassionate alternative to Trump’s cruel policies.”

“Democrats are essentially leaving humans to the slaughter under this guise that the United States should not have any numerical limit on who comes here,” Law said.

“The Democrats’ progressive view of immigration policy is morally bankrupt,” he added.

The government’s quiet support for migration is exposed by the mild and rare penalties against migrants, employers, smugglers, and foreign governments that support illegal migration, he said.

For example, on January 27, an American was sentenced to just 41 months of jail after he was caught transporting 51 migrants by truck, even though it was his second guilty verdict.

Similarly, the Indian government is making a show of prosecuting the smugglers following the death of the migrant family.

“This is a grave tragedy,” said a January 21 tweet from India’s High Commissioner to Canada, Ajay Bisaria. “We will work with Canadian authorities to investigate these disturbing events,” said Bisaria, even though his Indian government enables and encourages millions of Indians to legally and illegally seek jobs in the United States, Europe, and other regions.

“Indian police have arrested six people in a crackdown on ‘illegal’ immigration after four Indians were found frozen to death near the border between the United States and Canada last week,” Al Jazeera.com reported.

But “hundreds of Indians, mostly from the western states of Punjab and Gujarat, attempt to cross the US-Canada border each year, braving harsh weather conditions in search of a better life and job opportunities in the West,” said the January 26 report in Al Jazeera.com.

The NationalPost.com reported the family’s village of:

…Dingucha and others like it are filled with advertisements and enticements for immigration to Canada, the U.S., Britain and Australia. Many make unrealistic promises of admission to Canadian universities, even without a language certificate.

The illegal-migrant population of Indians has been growing in the United States, partly because many can hide in the growing population of Indian contract workers arriving with H-1B visas.

Roughly four million Indians are living in the United States. Of those, about one-quarter were brought in to serve as white-collar contract-workers for the Fortune 500 companies, often by Indian-born hiring managers. At least one-seventh — about 600,000 — are illegal migrants, including many visa workers who have not been sent home after overstaying their visas.

The Indians’ resident relatives, as well as business owners with ties to a shared hometown in India, also help the migrants find jobs either legally or illegally. Indian “facilitators in the United States are using them as indentured servants [saying] ‘Come work for me three to four years, and every paycheck I keep so much until you pay off your [debt],” a border official told Breitbart in 2019.

Migration moves money, and since at least 1990, the federal government has tried to extract people from poor countries so they can serve U.S. investors as cheap workers, government-aided consumers, and high-density renters in the U.S. economy.

That economic strategy has no stopping point, and it is harmful to ordinary Americans. It cuts their career opportunities and wages while raising their housing costs.

The strategy also curbs Americans’ productivity, shrinks their political clout, and widens the regional wealth gaps between the Democrats’ coastal states and cities and the Republicans’ heartland states and GOP-run suburbs and towns.

The economic policy radicalizes Americans’ democratic, compromise-promoting civic culture and allows wealthy elites to ignore despairing Americans at the bottom of society.

Unsurprisingly, a wide variety of little-publicized polls show deep and broad opposition to labor migration and the inflow of temporary contract workers into jobs sought by young U.S. graduates.

The opposition is growing, anti-establishment, multiracial, cross-sex, non-racist, class-based, bipartisan, rational, persistent, and recognizes the solidarity that Americans owe to each other.

What to make of Biden secretly transporting illegal aliens into the US

Two days ago, the New York Post reported the following:

“Under cover of darkness, every night the federal government is transporting illegal migrants as fast as it can away from the border on secret charter flights into unsuspecting communities around the country. Officials have lied and obstructed the few journalists who have tried to reveal the truth.”

This has been an old Democrat project.

They begin by inviting illegal immigrants either explicitly or implicitly through various public forums. 

They then allow numerous illegal aliens into the country by opening up the border.

Since these migrants are uneducated, unskilled, and impoverished they depend on government welfare for their survival. This makes them a permanent underclass who the Democrats think will be perennially subservient to them. 

Many of these migrants eventually are transferred to locations where Republicans traditionally win. The Democrats know they can never convince conservatives to vote for their radical left-wing policies.  So they drown the impact of these resident voters by giving voting rights to a sufficient number of migrants to facilitate a Democrat win.

Soon they plan to have a permanent presence in the House, Senate, and the White House. 

This has been successfully implemented in New York and California; the result of this monopoly is that talentless and corrupt individuals such as AOC,  Bill DeBlasio, Adam Schiff, Eric Swalwell, and Gavin Newsom win elections and eventually become destructive forces.

The impact of these secret transfers will be felt a couple decades later, by which time it is irreversible.

Hopefully, governors will react and prevent this potential travesty.

Democrat proponents of open borders may claim to be compassionate and humane, but it is at the cost of others. Top Democrat leaders such as Obama and Pelosi live in gated affluent localities where even a stranger would not even be allowed entry without documents and permission.

They chose working-class localities for migrants. 

Flooding any locality with numerous foreigners places an unfair burden on its infrastructure because the resources such as schools, hospitals, roads, parks, houses, and law enforcement are finite and directly proportional to tax-paying citizens in that area.

The fact that these migrants are not tested for Covid-19 makes them an additional risk and potential burden on the medical infrastructure and could cause lockdowns that hurt citizens.

These illegal migrants are often willing to work for meager remuneration; this causes a depression of wages and unemployment for native workers. This is why open borders were once termed as a 'right-wing scheme' by hardcore leftist like Bernie Sanders. Sanders whistles a very different tune these days.

The perils unvetted immigration from alien cultures can hardly be exaggerated. Countries in Europe have witnessed an erosion of their cultures and a spike in the most heinous of crimes. The social fabric undergoes considerable changes when religious fundamentalists among migrants commit brutal murders or honor killings in the name of blasphemy.

Soon the place the citizen was born in and has lived all his life looks like a foreign land.

US Officials have recorded over 1.7 million illegal border crossings in the past year, the most since records began. The actual record is much higher since there are numerous undetected crossings.

This surreptitious nightly transportation of illegal aliens should not come as a surprise.

If the Biden Presidency has an overall theme, it is secrecy.

During his campaign Biden seldom held rallies and was never subjected to tough probing interviews, hence his proposed policies or plans for the nation remained secret.  News of Biden’s son’s shady deals in Ukraine and China are suppressed by the media and kept a secret from voters.

Biden’s swearing-in ceremony was done under lockdowns with armed forces guarding Washington DC against regular people while only the likes of Tom Hanks and Lady Gaga were permitted to attend the secret coronation.

In the White House, Biden’s activities remain a secret from regular people. He seldom has many items on his daily calendar. He rarely does unscripted pressers or interviews. He frequently escapes to Delaware for holidays. The transcripts of Biden’s calls with foreign leaders are never published. It has reached a point where leaders such as the President of Ukraine are issuing stern rebukes to Biden for his reckless claims.

His mercurial, listless, forgetful presentation leads citizens to wonder who is in charge.

But that mystery wrapped in a riddle is not likely to be resolved any time soon.

Te Democrats' presumption that these migrants are a homogenous subservient group who will be their permanent voter base could be gravely erroneous.

The modern Democrats are fervent advocates of radical feminism, abortion, gay "marriage," transgenderism, etc., which are generally despised by people of faith. This will reflect in their voting behavior.

Many migrants originate from communist or theocratic or totalitarian nations in South America, the Middle East, or Africa. They have experienced how dictators destroy economies and suppress freedom to cause chaos. When they notice the totalitarian proclivities of the Democrats, they are likely to be turned off.

The news media serves as a propaganda wing for the Democrats. Whistleblowers who were once celebrated for their ‘bravery’ and ‘patriotism’ are now an extinct breed.  Various government and investigative agencies that are supposed to be apolitical have been compromised by the Washington Establishment. Billionaires buy elections by 'donating' to activist groups who infiltrate government election offices and manipulate the electoral outcomes.  

To have an incapacitated, compromised or disorientated leader who ‘wins’ a rigged election but is merely a front for his sinister agenda-driven puppet masters is what usually occurs in third world autocratic nations.

This certainly should not occur in one of the world’s largest democracies.

The secret transfer of illegals is perhaps a rare instance when their nefarious activities were detected. It isn’t beyond the realms of probability that a lot more goes on behind the scenes that will never be known by the public and that will have a permanent impact.

If this isn’t a national emergency, what is?

Left-wing billionaire and Democrat donor George Soros has reportedly fueled Democrats with $125 million through a super PAC heading into the November midterms.

Dubbed as a “long-term investment,” the money is one of the largest political donations in recent years, Politico reported, noting political donations of nine figures are exceedingly rare.

The donation will also likely be one of the largest political donations heading into the midterms.

Soros told the publication the “Democracy PAC” will be allocated to “causes and candidates” to strengthen the “infrastructure of American democracy: voting rights and civic participation, civil rights and liberties, and the rule of law.”

Soros, 91, will concede leadership of the PAC and allow his son Alexander Soros to serve as president.

Alexander Soros told Politico the PAC will be used as a weapon against those who “discredit and undermine our electoral process,” citing the “generational threat that cannot be addressed in just one or two election cycles.”

Reports indicate the “Democracy PAC” has already donated large sums to congressional PACs.

Reportedly, $2.5 million has been donated to Sen. Chuck Schumer’s (D-NY) Senate Majority PAC, $1 million to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) House Majority PAC, and $1 million also donated to the Democratic Association of Secretaries of State.

Soros is well-known for contributing great sums of money nationwide to local prosecutors to alter the criminal justice system in the name of “criminal justice reform.” Breitbart News reported:

The rise of these Soros-backed prosecutors has coincided with a massive surge in murder and crime in many Democrat-run cities, including many where these prosecutors have implemented radical policies toward policing and incarceration.

Most recently, for example, Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón has faced criticism for his radical reforms in the year since he took office, while murders soared. “The city last year experienced 397 murders, up 11.8 percent from the 355 the previous year, and a 53.9 percent increase from the 258 in the pre-pandemic year of 2019,” Los Angeles magazine noted.

Armed Human Smugglers Arrested in Texas After Crash on Railroad Track near Border

A multi-agency effort led to the arrest of two United States citizens accused of smuggling five migrants in remote South Texas. After fleeing a U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint, the two smugglers led law enforcement officers on a vehicle pursuit that ended when the truck crashed onto railroad tracks in La Salle County, Texas. After searching the vehicle, officers discovered a loaded handgun.

The incident unfolded early Wednesday when Border Patrol agents attempted to inspect a Nissan pickup truck at a permanent immigration checkpoint on Interstate 35 north of Laredo. The suspected smugglers fled from the checkpoint. The pursuit ended when the vehicle became disabled while driving onto a railroad track.

The driver of the vehicle attempted to elude the deputy by driving recklessly on the interstate highway. Border Patrol agents and Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol troopers joined the pursuit in hopes the driver would yield. Instead, the driver left the highway and attempted to cross nearby railroad tracks. The impact with the tracks disabled the vehicle, leaving it stranded on the tracks.

Authorities arrested five migrants in addition to the two suspected human smugglers. Law enforcement officers discovered a 9mm handgun concealed in the vehicle after a post-arrest search. The driver of the vehicle and a suspected accomplice were taken into custody by the La Salle County Sheriff’s office and face charges of human smuggling.

The migrants were turned over to the Border Patrol for administrative processing and removal.

La Salle County law enforcement authorities have become accustomed to an increase in vehicle pursuits in the area in recent months. Breitbart Texas visited with law enforcement authorities in the area who say they are not seeing an overwhelming increase in migrants being smuggled, but rather, a change in the tactics used by smugglers including leading officers on high-speed pursuits.

La Salle County Constable Rene Maldonado Jr. told Breitbart Texas the change can be attributed to cartels recruiting younger drivers via social media who perhaps otherwise would not be inclined to participate. Some, he says, are active drug users answering the call to feed their addictions.

The southern end of Interstate 35 stretches from Laredo, Texas, more than 1,500 miles to Duluth, Minnesota. La Salle County is only 30 minutes north of Laredo. The interstate can carry at least 200,000 vehicles per day in this area, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.
