It’s Muslim Roulette. Even the most “moderate” and “peaceful” Muslims can, out of the blue, commit the most obscene acts of violence, but with no prior warning signs. Islam is a totalitarian religion, while Muslims are individual human beings who may or may not practice Islam faithfully. There are active Muslims and passive Muslims, the faithful and the unfaithful, the submitted and the un-submitted in Islam, but there is no obvious way to tell the difference between them, which has its benefits for Muslims who are committed to spreading Islam by any means necessary. Mohammad said “War is deceit” and practiced this, and Muslims have followed their leader in using deception against non-Muslims from the first days of Islam to today. When Islam, the very antithesis of peace, is sold to us by Muslims and their useful idiots as being the very definition of peace, and actually gains traction, that would have made Goebbels blush.

Biden to Give Free Work Permits to Most of 70K Afghans Brought to U.S. Thus Far
President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has announced plans to provide work permits to tens of thousands of Afghans brought to the United States, free of charge.
On Monday, DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas announced that the agency will exempt Afghans brought to the U.S. via “humanitarian parole” from filing fees to “help facilitate their resettlement in the U.S. by streamlining the processing of requests for work authorization, green cards, and associated services.”
“By providing these evacuees with access to streamlined processing and fee exemptions, we will open doors of opportunity for our Afghan allies and help them begin to rebuild their lives in communities across our country more quickly,” Mayorkas said in a statement.
The policy move means that most of the roughly 70,000 Afghans, whom Biden has flown to the U.S. for resettlement across 46 states, will be able to apply for and secure work permits without paying the $500 filing fees that other foreign nationals typically must pay.
As Breitbart News has reported, multinational corporations in the airline industry, pharmaceutical industry, big banks, and tech conglomerates are working closely with the Biden administration to funnel Afghans into American jobs.
Facilitating much of the corporate partnership is a non-governmental organization (NGO) backed by former Presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama and former first ladies Hillary Clinton, Laura Bush, and Michelle Obama.
As of November 1, about 10,000 of the 70,000 Afghans brought to the U.S. thus far have been resettled in American communities with no say from residents or local and state officials.
Refugee resettlement costs taxpayers nearly $9 billion every five years. Over the course of a lifetime, taxpayers pay about $133,000 per refugee and within five years of resettlement, roughly 16 percent will need taxpayer-funded housing assistance.
Over the last 20 years, nearly a million refugees have been resettled in the nation — more than double the number of residents living in Miami, Florida, and it would be the equivalent of annually adding the population of Pensacola, Florida.

Biden: 'So Many Muslims Are Targeted With Violence' and 'Oppressed for Their Religious Beliefs'
Complaining about fake violence against Muslims while ignoring real violence by Muslims.

Day by day, it seems that the ruling class and their media mouthpiece are dedicated to one principle: find problems where none exist and ignore real problems that are in desperate need of attention.
Consider the words of U.S. President Joe Biden, spoken during Eid al-Fitr with Muslims at the White House on May 2. He said:
[T]oday, around the world, we’re seeing so many Muslims being targeted with violence. No one, no one should discriminate against oppressed or be oppressed for their religious beliefs…. Muslims make our nation stronger every single day, even as they still face real challenges and threats in our society, including targeted violence and Islamophobia that exists.
Now, let’s briefly parse these surreal claims:
[T]oday, around the world, we’re seeing so many Muslims being targeted with violence.
Where are the statistics for this claim? Rather, what we’re used to seeing is Muslims targeting non-Muslims with violence. According to one tally, for example, during just this last Ramadan, or basically the month of April 2022, Muslims launched 177 terror attacks “in the name of Islam” that murdered 1,086 people. Again, that’s just during one month—Islam’s “holiest” month. The same tally finds that there were zero attacks and zero deaths by non-Muslims operating under the name of their religions.
No one, no one should discriminate against oppressed or be oppressed for their religious beliefs.
Of course, everyone agrees with this—except, apparently, the one group that Biden was speaking to and presenting as “oppressed,” namely, Muslims: systematic discrimination and oppression are endemic to the Muslim world, and that’s because systematic discrimination and oppression are integral parts of the religion of Islam and codified in sharia.
If you’re a non-Muslim, you are openly treated as inferior and with fewer rights. That’s if you’re lucky; otherwise, you’re outright persecuted and possibly killed for your faith. As a recent report found, 360 million Christians around the world are persecuted for their religious identity—and the overwhelming majority of that persecution occurs in Muslim nations. In fact, the persecution Christians experience in 39 of the worst 50 nations is due to Islam. Yet never a word about this from Biden. Instead:
Muslims make our nation stronger every single day, even as they still face real challenges and threats in our society, including targeted violence and Islamophobia that exists.
While one can point to several ways Muslims potentially make the U.S. weaker every day—from terror attacks and violent crimes to engaging in propaganda and subverting the nation from within—it would be useful to explain one reason as to how “Muslims make our nation stronger every single day.” Sure, it sounds nice, but some concrete examples, please.
As for Biden’s complaint about “targeted violence and Islamophobia that exists,” as seen, whatever that may be, it is a tithe of the targeted violence that Muslims launch on others.
As for the “Islamophobia that exists”—and which has existed since Islam was born, for obvious reasons—it is simply a manifestation of the fact that more and more people are learning the truths of Muhammad’s creed, despite the talking points of Biden and the rest.

A Muslim man berated and beat a Coptic Christian woman because she entered his establishment with her head uncovered during Ramadan in Egypt.
According to the Apr. 27, 2022 Arabic language report, Nevin Sobhi, a 30-year-old married mother, went to her local drugstore to pick up some medication for her young son, who accompanied her. On entering, she noticed that the head pharmacist, Dr. Ali Abu Sa‘da, was giving her “the evil eye.” Before long, what was in his eyes reached his tongue: he launched into a loud and “hate-filled tirade” against her for daring to enter his store during Ramadan without any head covering and while wearing a short-sleeved T-shirt.
It should be noted that Ali was aware that Nevin was Christian and, therefore, not obligated to observe Ramadan’s rules. When the Copt told him as much, he responded with a violent slap to her face. When the startled woman responded with shock and anger, he slapped her again—all while her scared, young son cried.
Nevin ran outside, “in a state of collapse, crying and incapable of absorbing the shock.” She contacted her family, and they went to the local police station to report the incident. There, Nevin received what she called her “third slap.” According to the Christian woman:
Inside the police station, I was surprised by attempts and pressure to conciliate. The perpetrator’s lawyer steered the writing of the report [in a manner] that contradicted reality, and they forced me to sign the report which contained statements from the pharmacist’s lawyer without taking my statements. […] We were especially shocked to see the report said that “the pharmacist is a friend of the family, who was just bantering and joking around with Mrs. Nevin, because he is close to the family.”
Continued the woman: “I was so shocked; it was as a third slap to me—that such a radical character could emerge victorious, even as I lose my rights as an Egyptian woman!”
Criticism for and even violence against those who do not outwardly conform to the strictures of Ramadan—even if they are non-Muslims and therefore exonerated—is common throughout the Islamic world.
Some days before this incident, for example, a video surfaced of a woman in hijab yelling at and hitting Coptic girls in a bus for not being properly veiled. Muslim women have even been known to cut off—sometimes clandestinely other times not so clandestinely—the uncovered hair of Christian women. To quote from a report,

That said, such killings would certainly be much more frequent -- especially following Friday mosque prayers, when the believers are regularly riled against the hated “infidels” -- were they not outlawed and punished by the state.
On April 7, 2022, in Egypt, a Muslim man lunged at and viciously stabbed a Christian priest thrice in the neck with a knife; Fr. Arsenius Wadid died soon thereafter. Although the murderer was instantly apprehended by passersby -- the crime was committed on a crowded street -- Egyptian authorities initially tried to do what their Western counterparts often do: portray the murderer as “insane,” an aberration of society.

Mosque Family Night with Alleged Wife Abuser Hassan Shibly
The women-hating hypocrites at the Southeast Texas Islamic Society.

Unless they were being hidden in a room far from the event, there appears to be no women at last month’s Family Night, at the Beaumont, Texas mosque. That may be a good thing, though, because they may not have been too thrilled about who the mosque had invited to speak at it, ex-CAIR leader Hassan Shibly. It was little over a year ago that Shibly was accused by his then-wife of domestic violence against her in front of their children, and the accusation was taken seriously enough to result in Shibly resigning from CAIR. Why would the mosque welcome such a toxic individual to speak at a family event? Why would they allow him to speak at all?
Much like CAIR, itself, Shibly is a Muslim extremist, whose targets are Jews and Israel. He has described Hezbollah as “basically a resistance movement” and “absolutely not a terrorist organization” and the Hamas Holy Land Foundation (HLF) charity as “humanitarian aid providers.” He used Facebook to laud Palestinian jailed terrorist Marwan Barghouti as a “hero” and tweeted that “Israel and its supporters are enemies of God.” In May 2021, he tweeted a graphic that repeated “Israel is an illegitimate apartheid terrorist state” two dozen times, and posted a brutally anti-Semitic video on Instagram, calling on Israeli Jews to “go back to Europe.”
In December 2020, Shibly’s then-wife, Imane Sadrati, created a GoFundMe page asking for donations, claiming that she suffered physical and mental abuse at the hands of Shibly and that Shibly cut off funds from her. She said, “[W]hen I was 9 months pregnant with my first born, my marriage became volatile and abusive. What I assumed was ‘just a disagreement’ turned into screams. What would have been annoying remarks suddenly became violent blows… My husband hurt me mentally, emotionally and physically behind closed doors and openly in front of my children… I need your support to put an end to domestic violence in my home!”
On a 911 call to police that took place days prior to the publishing of the GoFundMe page and that was made public by the Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT), Sadrati alleged that Shibly, who has spent a significant part of his life on the federal terrorist watchlist, threatened to kill her and stated, “He’s been beating me for 12 years.” According to court documents, during one purported incident, Shibly “twisted Sadrati's arm, slapped her and shoved her against a wall.”
Other allegations have surfaced regarding Shibly, including that of ‘secret marriages’ (outside of his legal marriage to Sadrati) and sexual harassment of CAIR co-workers. One former CAIR colleague of Shibly’s, Samantha Bowden, who held the position of CAIR-Florida Communications Director, posted the following on her Facebook page: “HASSAN SHIBLY IS A PERVERT, ABUSER, AND MANIPULATOR, AND I STAND AS A WITNESS TO ALL OF THIS BEHAVIOR… HE’S A MONSTER & NEEDS TO BE ISOLATED FROM PUBLIC ACCESS TO PEOPLE.”
On March 25, 2022, The Southeast Texas Islamic Society (STIS), a.k.a. Jamia Masjid Beaumont, brought Shibly in as a guest speaker for its ‘Family Night Dinner.’ It was only a couple months before that Shibly gave a fundraising appeal for the American Youth Academy (AYA), in Tampa, Florida (and advertised another AYA talk, days before). AYA is a children’s school founded by former Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) North American leader Sami al-Arian. Helping Shibly at the AYA event was Hatem Fariz, a colleague of al-Arian’s and fellow member of PIJ. Both Fariz and al-Arian were convicted of providing material support to terrorists.
Speaking along with Shibly, at the Family Night, was STIS imam and resident fashionista Yasir Usmani. Usmani, who previously served as Youth Director of Darul Uloom Texas and who is proud of his Pakistani heritage, refers to the controversial South Asian group Tablighi Jamaat, which has been banned by a number of nations, “Tablighi friends.” He also labeled India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, “terrorist Modi” and the Indian government, “the infidel government of India.” This month, Usmani voiced and produced videos containing anti-Semitic Islamic tropes, including that Allah turned Jews into “apes” and that Jews have “earned wrath upon wrath.”
One of the coordinators for the event was local Lamar University professor and frequent speaker at STIS, Khalid Hamza. Hamza was denied tenure at a previous school, Florida Atlantic University (FAU), for allegedly “misstating his qualifications on his resume” and “unprofessional behavior.” Hamza was co-founder of the Islamic Center of Boca Raton (ICBR). Other ICBR founders consisted of Hamas web designer Syed Khawer Ahmad and ex-assistant to Sami al-Arian, Bassem Alhalabi. Hamza used a Texas A&M University internet forum to defend al-Arian and portray reports of al-Arian’s involvement in terrorism as media “poisoning people’s minds.”
Given Shibly’s recent wife abuse scandal, it was an interesting choice for STIS to bring him in as a speaker – and on family night, yet! This is especially the case, when the mosque and its leadership have cynically attempted to create the (false) impression that they honor women. On their social media, one can find such messages as: “The Best Of You Are Those Who Are Best To Their Women”; “Treat your WIFE The way you want your DAUGHTER To be Treated”; “Mother is the blessing that no one can replace”; and “MEN ARE THE PROTECTORS AND MAINTAINERS OF WOMEN.”
When Shibly came to speak, all of the leaders of STIS – STIS Chairman Azam Ali, STIS President Tahir “Tony” Ashrafi, and STIS Imam Yasir Usmani – lined up to have their photos taken with him. Ashrafi stated about the Shibly event, “Today we had Brother Hassan Shibly give a khutba at Jamia Masjid’s Family Night! It was a wonderful event… Thank you to Brother Hassan Shibly for joining us and speaking at our event!”
In truth, STIS cares nothing about safeguarding women or about the allegations that Shibly abused his wife, just as it has no issues with the fact that Shibly has associated himself with a Hamas-related group like CAIR or PIJ-linked entities like AYA and Hatem Fariz. STIS President Ashrafi alluded to this, when he posted on his Facebook page a graphic with the following message aimed at women, like Imane Sadrati, who speak out: “DON’T TALK BAD ABOUT YOUR HUSBAND. TO ANYONE. EVER.”
STIS is another radical Muslim institution which has no problem with inviting an alleged domestic abuser, bigamist and harasser of women to address their adherents on a ‘Family Night.’ The mosque’s embrace of Shibly implies a tacit acceptance and approval of all the behaviors he is accused of. Instead of becoming persona non grata, Shibly is considered a celebrity in Islamist circles. This reveals the inherent misogyny and total hypocrisy permeating their extremist ideology and makes a mockery of the family values they claim to be promoting.

How the Koran Calls for the Murder of Christians

Although the murderer was instantly apprehended by passersby -- the crime was committed on a crowded street -- Egyptian authorities initially tried to do what their Western counterparts often do: portray the murderer as “insane,” an aberration of society.
Due to a combination of public outcry (primarily from the Copts themselves), the testimonials of seventeen eyewitnesses, and even the murderer’s own coherent responses -- to say nothing of the fact that of all the people he could have “randomly” murdered he targeted the one openly professing his Christian faith by wearing a large crucifix around his neck -- prosecution finally confirmed that he would be tried as sane and cognizant of his actions.
Why both Westerners and non-Westerners constantly seek to portray Muslim murderers of non-Muslims as “insane” should be clear by now: the alternative -- that Islam somehow promotes such behavior -- would open a massive can of worms that no one wants to deal with.
But can one really say that Islam promotes even the unprovoked slaying of a Christian clergyman, Fr. Arsenius, who was peacefully engaged in a public charitable activity with the youth of his church when he was slaughtered?
Three Koran passages would seem to answer this question in the affirmative: 1. “Kill the polytheists wherever you find them (9:5); 2. “Fight the leaders of disbelief [kufr] (9:12); 3. “When you meet the disbelievers, strike [with your blades at their] necks (47:4).
Consider how these three verses apply to the current case: A Muslim man comes across a “leader of disbelief” -- that is, a clergyman, a visible representative of Christianity, as demarcated by the cross around Fr. Arsenius’s neck. It did not matter that he came across him on an open and crowded street, since Allah also commands the believers to “kill the polytheists” -- and Islam categorizes Christians as polytheists due to the Trinity -- “wherever you find them.” Finally, the murderer took his deity’s advice by striking directly at the neck, the jugular, which he repeatedly stabbed with a knife.
Should this rather straightforward interpretation still seem farfetched or not “nuanced” enough, keep in mind that Muslims recite the aforementioned three and many more hate-filled and violent Koran verses every single day; these scriptures are highlighted, praised, and expounded in countless books, on countless televised programs, and all throughout the mosques of the world, especially Egypt’s. In other words, these verses are ingrained in the minds of pious, observant Muslims.
Even so, one may object that, if such verses are so influential, why aren’t there more such attacks? Such an observation can only be made by someone whose information is exclusively derived from “mainstream media” sources: random attacks on “infidels” are actually quite common -- not a few of them featuring knife stabs to the neck.
In Egypt alone -- where a Coptic clergyman once complained that attacks on Christians happen “every two or three days” -- a murder nearly identical to that of Fr. Arsenius took place in 2017: then, a Muslim man wielding a butcher’s knife was seen and videotaped chasing a Coptic bishop in broad daylight; when he finally cornered him, the Muslim repeatedly stabbed the Christian in his neck and head, murdering him. Finally, to underscore that his handiwork was religiously (Islamicly) motivated, the murderer used the bishop’s own blood to draw a cross on his forehead.
Further confirming that this killer was motivated by Koran verses such as those cited above, neighbors said that he had recently “begun praying in the street, shouting loudly and calling Christians infidels.” As for motive, one report explained that “he had decided to kill any Coptic priest, purchased a dagger, and lay in wait for one to pass by, in a street leading to the local church.”
“Lay in wait for one to pass by” sounds awfully similar to Koran 9:5, which counsels the faithful to “capture them, besiege them, and lie in wait for them on every way.”
There are other such examples. In 2013, Coptic priest Mina Cheroubim was shot dead as he left his church in al-Arish, Egypt. A botched attempt occurred in 2020: while traveling to his church in Alexandria, a Coptic priest was ambushed and “nearly murdered” by a Muslim parolee. According to the report, “the parolee, nicknamed Kareem Madi, has a history of attacking Christians -- especially women and girls.”
Such murderous assaults are hardly limited to Coptic clergymen who, as the saying goes, wear their faith on their sleeves. Everyday Christians are also targeted and killed in what Egyptian media present as “random attacks” (with the only constant being the religion of the murderers, Islam, and the religion of their victims, Christianity).
As just two examples, in 2020 a Muslim man crept up behind a Christian woman walking home with groceries, grabbed her hair, pulled her head back, and slit her throat with a knife. Two days later, another Muslim man went for the jugular of a Christian man with a box-cutter; he only managed to sever an ear. On being questioned concerning his motive, this Muslim confessed that he did not know the Copt, but that he simply “hates Christians.” There are many more such examples from Egypt; see here, here, here, here, here, here, and here.
The reader may still protest: if the Koran teaches the outright butchery of infidels, “wherever you find them,” and if at least ten percent of Egypt’s population is Christian, shouldn’t there be many more -- indeed, daily -- murders? The answer to this seeming conundrum is simple enough. Though the Egyptian constitution is heavily based on Islamic sharia law, Egypt is still a modern state -- meaning that the random killing of an “infidel” is strictly prohibited. As such, it appears that only the most pious -- or as they are often portrayed, the most insane -- are willing to accept the negative consequences of literally enacting the hate-filled and violent verses of their holy book, which include long or even life prison sentences.
That said, such killings would certainly be much more frequent -- especially following Friday mosque prayers, when the believers are regularly riled against the hated “infidels” -- were they not outlawed and punished by the state.

Why Do Muslim ‘Victims’ Celebrate the Victimization of Others?

Speaking on the first day of Ramadan, April 1, 2022, Mahmoud al-Habbash, the Supreme Sharia Judge of the Palestinian Authority, extolled the jihads waged by the prophet of Islam, Muhammad, during Ramadan:
How was this month [of Ramadan] in the life of Prophet [Muhammad]? … Did the Prophet spend Ramadan in calmness, serenity, laziness, and sleepiness? Far be it from him… The Prophet entered the great Battle of Badr [624] during Ramadan... Also in the month of Ramadan, in the 8th year of the Hijra [629-630], the Prophet and the Muslims conquered Mecca.... Ramadan is … a month of Jihad, conquest, and victory.
This is hardly the first time leading Palestinians invoke the early history of jihad in connection to Ramadan. During last year’s Ramadan, on April 16, 2021, Al Jazeera published an article by ‘Adnan Abu ‘Amar, “head of the Political Science Department at the University of the Ummah in Gaza,” explaining how Palestinians find “inspiration” in various jihads throughout Islamic history, “prominent among them the raid of Badr, the conquest of Mecca, the conquest of al-Andalus [Spain], and the battle of the pavement of martyrs [the Battle of Tours].”
Those who understand the true nature and motivation of these battles and conquests must wonder: Why are Palestinians, who present themselves as victims of land-grabbing Israeli oppressors, praising and finding inspiration in the land-grabbing oppressors of history? After all, in all of these military engagements, the Muslims were the aggressors: they invaded non-Muslim territory, butchered and enslaved its inhabitants, and appropriated their lands—and for no other reason than that they were “infidels,” non-Muslims.
The battle of Badr was occasioned by Muhammad’s raids on non-Muslim caravans; the conquest of Mecca was simply that, the conquest of a non-Muslim city; the conquest of al-Andalus is a reference to the years 711-716, when Muslims invaded and slaughtered countless thousands of Christians in Spain and torched their churches; and the battle of Tours is, of course, where the Muslim invasions into Western Europe were finally halted in 732.
That Palestinian elements are constantly praising the unjustified conquests of others is hardly uncommon. On May 29, Hizb al-Tahrir—the “Liberation Party”—often holds large, outdoor events near al-Aqsa mosque to commemorate the anniversary of the Islamic conquest of Constantinople (May 29, 1453). After all the takbirs (chants of “Allahu Akbar”) had subsided at one of these events, Palestinian cleric Nidhal Siam said:
Oh Muslims, the anniversary of the conquest of Constantinople brings tidings of things to come. It brings tidings that Rome will be conquered in the near future, Allah willing…. [Moreover,] Islam will throw its neighbors to the ground, and its reach will span across the east and the west of this Earth. This is Allah’s promise, and Allah does not renege on his promises.
The Palestinian cleric and assembled throng then repeatedly chanted, “By means of the Caliphate and the consolidation of power, Muhammad the Conqueror vanquished Constantinople!” and “Your conquest, oh Rome, is a matter of certainty!”
Again, the question must be emphasized: why are the Palestinians—who, when speaking to the international community, present themselves as an oppressed people whose land is unjustly occupied—finding inspiration in and seeking to emulate those who oppress and steal the lands of others?
If anything, shouldn’t the Palestinians be sympathizing with, say, the Christians of Spain, whose land was occupied, and they themselves brutalized by the occupiers, namely, the Muslim invaders from North Africa?
Similarly, if, as they claim, the Palestinians are an oppressed people whose land was stolen, shouldn’t they sympathize with the Christians of Constantinople, rather than Muhammad the Conqueror, an unsavory pedophile who invaded and conquered the ancient Christian city, while subjecting its indigenous inhabitants to all sorts of unspeakable atrocities?
As for Rome, what does it have to do with the Arab-Israeli conflict that it, too, deserves to be conquered? Absolutely nothing—except that, since the conquest of Constantinople, Islam has seen Rome as the symbolic head of the Christian world, and therefore in urgent need of subjugating; or, to quote the Islamic State, “We will conquer your Rome, break your crosses, and enslave your women, by the permission of Allah… [We will cast] fear into the hearts of the cross-worshipers.”
Perhaps most telling is Palestinian cleric Siam’s claim (delivered to thundering applause) “that Islam will throw its neighbors to the ground, and that its reach will span across the east and the west of this Earth.” In other words, no non-Muslim is safe from the sword of jihad—including those who live countless leagues away from and have nothing to do with the Arab-Israeli conflict.
Surely all this must seem surreal when placed in context? How can Palestinians present themselves as a conquered and oppressed people whose land was stolen—while, in the very same breath, praising former and hoping for future conquests, replete with oppression and land grabbing from other peoples, only because they were/are non-Muslim?
And that is the grand lesson: when all is said and done, Islamic notions of “justice” are based on a simple dichotomy: whenever Muslims conquer, slaughter, subjugate, and steal land—that is just; whenever they have to live under “infidel” authority, that is unjust. Hence the virulent hatred for Israel.
A Palestinian Imam’s Genocidal Prayer
Will there be any consequences for calling for "the extermination of the evil Jews?"
The Palestinian Authority likes to present itself as the “moderate” face of the Palestinian “resistance.” Unlike Hamas, and Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, the PA does not itself conduct terror attacks. But it does encourage terror attacks by others. First, it continues to spend hundreds of millions of dollars annually on its “Pay-For-Slay” program, whereby it provides generous stipends to imprisoned terrorists, and to the families of terrorists who were killed in carrying out their attacks. Congress in 2018 passed the Taylor Force Act, that requires the American government to cease to provide aid to the PA as long as the “Pay-For-Slay” program continues.
Second, the PA honors terrorists by naming schools, streets, plazas, sports competitions, and more, after them, thereby keeping them fresh in the collective memory of the Palestinians, presenting them as exemplars to be emulated by the young.
Now the PA has reminded us – and one hopes the Bidenites are paying close attention – that it is perfectly happy to promote those who call for the “extermination” of Jews. As Jerusalem saw escalating clashes last week between Palestinian rioters and Israeli police, Palestinian Authority TV aired an imam’s call for the “extermination” of Jews, an Israeli media watchdog said Sunday.
The prayer led by a Palestinian imam was broadcast on PA television on April 17, according to Palestinian Media Watch (PMW), as rioting continued on Jerusalem’s Temple Mount during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
“Grant us victory over the infidels,” the imam said, according to a PMW translation. “Allah, delight us with the conquest and liberation of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Allah, make us among the first to enter, the conquerors, the worshippers, and those calling out ‘Allahu Akbar’ inside [the mosque] to You, Master of the Universe.”
“Allah, delight us with the extermination of the evil Jews, O Master of the Universe, and [the extermination] of their hypocritical supporters who have evil in their hearts,” he continued.
The Ramadan prayer was delivered at the Al-Ain Mosque in El-Bireh, near Ramallah.
PMW said it had notified the Israel Police of the footage for its “explicit incitement to murder,” and also called for the arrest of the head of PA TV and the Palestinian Broadcast Corporation.
Comment:
The Ramadan prayer of the imam at the Al-Ain Mosque, calling for the “extermination “ of the Jews, is blood-curdling, but even worse is the fact that the “moderate” PA then chose to broadcast it on the PA’s television. Thus it endorsed, and helped to spread, the annihilationist sentiment of the unidentified imam, who calls not for an end to Israel’s “occupation,” or even for “Israel to disappear,” but for all Jews, everywhere on earth, to be killed. Such a prayer could not have been broadcast on Palestinian television, one suspects, without the knowledge, and approval, of those at the very highest level of the PA government –the PA’s Prime Minister, Muhammed Shtayyeh, and its President-for-Life Mahmoud Abbas.
The Biden Administration has been treating the PA with kid gloves. It had promised the PA that it would re-open the “consulate to the Palestinians” in Jerusalem, and the only reason it has not done so is that the Bidenites must have discovered, to their chagrin, that according to the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations (1963), the “receiving” state where the consulate is to be opened must give its permission, and both Prime Minister Bennett and Foreign Minister Lapid have made clear they will never provide that permission. Biden has als promised to permit the PLO office in Washington, that the Trump Administration had closed,tro re-open. And the Bidenites have, despite the Taylor Force Act, gone ahead and provided hundreds of millions of dollars in aid to the PA that the Trump Administration had halted, even though the “Pay-For-Slay” program continues unchanged..
The Bidenites should read the transcript of the imam’s exterminationist prayer, as broadcast so enthusiastically on the PA’ TV. Better yet, a redoubtable member of Congress, appalled at the Bidenites’’ attempts to appease Mahmoud Abbas and the PA, should read out the imam’s prayer on the Senate or House floor,, and demand to know what consequences, if any, the PA will suffer from having allowed such a “prayer” for the mass murder of Jews to be spread far and wide on its own television station.
Here’s what one would like to hear from, say, a Senator – both Republican Ted Cruz, and Democrat Robert Menendez, come to mind as candidates:
“The Palestinian Authority now receives hundreds of millions of dollars annually from American taxpayers. This aid has been given, despite the fact that the PA continues its “Pay-For-Slay” program, that both rewards past, and incentivizes future, terrorism. Vast sums are spent by the PA through its “Pay-For-Slay” program on these terrorists and their families . The Taylor Force Act was passed by Congress in 2018 to end all American economic aid to the Palestinian Authority (PA) until the PA ceases paying stipends through the Palestinian Authority Martyr’s Fund to individuals who commit acts of terrorism and to the families of deceased terrorists.
“But the infamous “Pay-For-Slay” program continues, and yet American aid has not stopped. We have a right to ask – “what gives”? What precisely is the rationale offered by the Biden Administration for ignoring both the letter and spirit of the Taylor Force Act? Does it believe that some kinds of aid are not prohibited underTaylor Force? If so, could the Administration tell us in detail what aid can still be given to the PA , while the “Pay-For-Slay” program continues,: and not violate Taylor Force?
“Furthermore, what is the Administration doing about the PA’s honoring of terrorists by naming schools, streets, plazas, and sports competitions after them? Such memorializing of terrorists is meant to keep them fresh in the collective memory, and induce young Palestinians to emulate them. Has the Administration raised this issue with the PA? If not, why not?
“And now we come to the latest outrage: the broadcasting on the PA television station, of the recorded sermon given by an imam at a mosque in El-Bireh, next to Ramallah, the capital of the Palestinian Authority. Here is part of what the imam said in his Ramadan prayer that the PA TV found so inspiring that it chose to broadcast to its audience:
“Allah delight us with the extermination of the evil Jews,” he prayed, and then called for the extermination of those he called “their[the Jews’] hypocritical supporters who have evil in their hearts.
“Grant us victory over the infidels..Allah, delight us with the conquest and liberation of the AlAqsa Mosque. Allah, make us among the first to enter, the conquerors, the worshippers, and those calling out ‘Allahu Akbar’ inside [the mosque] to You, Master of the Universe. Allah, delight us with the extermination of the evil Jews, O Master of the Universe, and [the extermination] of their hypocritical supporters who have evil in their hearts,” he beseeched God.
“The Palestinian Broadcast Corporation chose to broadcast this explicit incitement to murder Jews – not Israelis alone, but all Jews, the “evil Jews.” Will the Biden Administration demand tha the PA fire – or better still, arrest –the head of PA TV, Khaled Sukkar, and the head of the Palestinian Broadcast Corporation, Ahmad Assaf? Will it threaten to withhold aid if its demands are not met?
“Or does the Biden Administration think that such broadcasting of calls for genocide need not have consequences? We have a right to ask for answers."
There. That should do it. Let the flustered Bidenites scramble to formulate a suit
4 Dead, 17 Wounded in Islamic Terror in Vienna

This isn't the first Islamic terrorist attack to strike Vienna and it won't be the last.
While information is still being put together, the current toll stands at 4 dead and 17 wounded. The attacker had a rifle and a fake bomb belt, a common feature of ISIS-inspired attacks in Europe, and he appears to be an ISIS supporter.
The terrorist has been shot and killed.
The Islamic killer was allegedly a 20-year-old Albanian immigrant from North Macedonia.
While the attack happened in the vicinity of the hub of the Vienna Jewish community, the synagogue was closed at the time and it's unclear if the Islamic terrorist had been targeting it. It certainly would not be the first time as one of the worst Islamic terror attacks in Vienna by the PLO had targeted a Bar Mitzvah, and there was a more recent attack on a synagogue.
At this stage we don't know, but this was the scene.
Community rabbi Schlomo Hofmeister saw how one of the assassins suddenly started shooting at people. The guests fled to the bars in a panic. The attackers followed them. There were also numerous shots inside, says Hofmeister. The rabbi had alerted the police, but they had "never come", as he told the program "Zeit im Bild" on ORF.
When the security forces arrived, they positioned themselves in the doorways. The officers called for the injured. “I heard shouts from the bars: 'Yes, there are two injured people here! And there is one here too,'” Hofmeister said.
In a bar on Bognergasse, the guests were still sitting outside. "It was the last evening when everyone wanted to have a nice evening before they don't see each other anymore," says boss Peter Friese. Then everything went very quickly. Before he could even react, the customers ran into the bar. "Panic broke out. Suddenly the tables flew, everyone ran in, into the toilets, into the cellar."
The victims: a dead passer-by at the meat market, a waitress at a popular pub on duty at Ruprechtsplatz, the third dead passer-by was found at Franz-Josefs-Kai, a woman died afterwards in the Ottakringer Spital. There are also 17 injured, seven of them seriously. The police counted a total of six crime scenes in the city center.
Unfortunately this is just another day in Europe.

As the most important U.S. presidential election draws nigh, what—one must ask in light of the spate of terror attacks in France and elsewhere—are the two candidates’ positions on Islam?
Most recently, President Trump summarized both what his and a Biden presidency would entail during a rally in Butler, PA, on October 31:
To protect our security I suspended the entry of foreign refugees from terror afflicted nations. Biden has pledged a staggering 700 percent increase in refugees from the most violent terrorist hotspots anywhere on earth. If you don’t mind I’ll end that. And that was the deal, the manifesto, that he agreed to with Bernie Sanders and AOC+3 [Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York and three other female “progressive” reps, including Ilhan Omar of Minnesota and Rashida Tlaib of Michigan]..... The Biden plan would overwhelm your communities … and open the floodgates to radical Islamic terrorism. Call France; ask them how are they doing? You saw what’s happening there, and what’s happening is a disgrace…. So, if you don’t mind, we’ll take a pass, ok? You know I passed the ban, right, the ban, and everyone said “what a terrible thing,” and we won at the supreme court, and now we keep people out who can’t love our country, people that want to hurt people. We want them out and we will keep them out. We are keeping the terrorists and the jihadists … the hell out of our country.
Trump certainly seems to “get it.” His interest in “keep[ing] people out who can’t love our country” echoes another important assertion he once made. Back in March 2016, during a CNN interview when Trump was the Republican presidential candidate, he said:
I think Islam hates us. There’s something there that — there’s a tremendous hatred there. There’s a tremendous hatred. We have to get to the bottom of it. There’s an unbelievable hatred of us.
While these remarks were, as might be imagined, “triggering” to the Left, they also touched on a central truth: Islam does indeed teach Muslims to hate non-Muslims. According to the central doctrine of al-wal’a wa al-bara’, or “loyalty and enmity”—which is well grounded in the Koran and other Islamic scriptures, well sponsored by Islamic authorities, and well manifested all throughout Islamic history and contemporary affairs—Muslims must hate and oppose everyone who is not Muslim, including family members and their own wives.
Indeed, as if to settle the debate once and for all, a few months after Trump said “Islam hates us,” the Islamic State published an article aptly titled “Why We Hate You & Why We Fight You”:
We hate you, first and foremost, because you are disbelievers; you reject the oneness of Allah – whether you realize it or not – by making partners for Him in worship, you blaspheme against Him, claiming that He has a son [Christ], you fabricate lies against His prophets and messengers, and you indulge in all manner of devilish practices. It is for this reason that we were commanded to openly declare our hatred for you and our enmity towards you. “There has already been for you an excellent example in Abraham and those with him, when they said to their people, ‘Indeed, we are disassociated from you and from whatever you worship other than Allah. We have rejected you, and there has arisen, between us and you, enmity and hatred forever until you believe in Allah alone’” [Koran 60:4]. Furthermore, just as your disbelief is the primary reason we hate you, your disbelief is the primary reason we fight you, as we have been commanded to fight the disbelievers until they submit to the authority of Islam, either by becoming Muslims, or by paying jizyah – for those afforded this option [“People of the Book”] – and living in humiliation under the rule of the Muslims [per Koran 9:29].
What about ol’ Joe? The Democratic presidential candidate is, as might be expected, standing by all the usual Democratic clichés: that Islam is inherently good and peaceful; that terrorists are “hijacking” the great faith for their own ends; and that more education, more “inclusion,” and less “Islamophobia” are what will put an end to terrorism.
Or, to quote from an October 15 New Arab report:
Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden promised on Wednesday that Muslim Americans would serve at “every level” of his administration. In a video message to civil rights organization Muslim Advocates, Biden repeated his pledge to repeal the Trump administration's travel ban on his first day in office. The former vice president added that he would push for legislation to fight a rise in hate crimes in the United States, according to media reports. “As president, I'll work with you to rip the poison of hate from our society, honor your contributions and seek your ideas,” Biden said in the video address. “My administration will look like America, Muslim Americans serving at every level,” he added.
So, along with the countless other extreme differences between by the current and the would-be presidents, Trump offers a serious approach that recognizes some of Islam’s most problematic doctrines, while Biden offers the usual, feel good bromides—the natural culmination of which can now be seen in France, which is slowly resembling a war zone.
How the 9/11 Terrorists Got Here
And what they had in common.

The commercial aircraft that al-Qaida terrorists flew into the twin towers, the Pentagon and a field in Pennsylvania on Sept. 11, 2001 — killing 2,977 people — did not take off from some foreign land before flying toward targets here in the United States.
They were all domestic flights that took off from American cities and were headed toward American cities.
American Airlines Flight 11, which struck the north tower of the World Trade Center, took off from Boston and was heading to Los Angeles.
United Airlines Flight 175, which struck the south tower of the World Trade Center, also took off from Boston and was heading to Los Angeles.
American Airlines Flight 77, which struck the Pentagon, took off from Northern Virginia and was heading to Los Angeles.
United Airlines Flight 93, which crashed in Pennsylvania, took off from Newark and was heading to San Francisco.
Almost three years after the 2001 attacks, the staff of the national commission that Congress created by statute to investigate the event published a report on "9/11 and Terrorist Travel."
This report began by making a fundamental point: "It is perhaps obvious to state that terrorists cannot plan and carry out attacks in the United States if they are unable to enter the country."
We let the hijackers in. But did they come here legally? Did they follow our visa and immigration laws? Not according to this 9/11 Commission staff report.
"The story begins with 'A Factual Overview of the September 11 Border Story,'" says the preface to the report. "In it, we endeavor to dispel the myth that their entry into the United States was 'clean and legal.' It was not."
"Three hijackers carried passports with indicators of Islamic extremism linked to al Qaeda; two others carried passports manipulated in a fraudulent manner," the report explained. "It is likely that several more hijackers carried passports with similar fraudulent manipulation. Two hijackers lied on their visa applications. Once in the United States, two hijackers violated the terms of their visas. One overstayed his visa. And all but one obtained some form of state identification. We know that six of the hijackers used these state issued identifications to check in for their flights on September 11. Three of them were fraudulently obtained."
More than two dozen al-Qaida terrorists whom the commission associated with the 9/11 conspiracy tried to enter the United States. Most of them succeeded.
"Twenty-six al Qaeda terrorist conspirators — eighteen Saudis, two Emiratis, one Egyptian, one Lebanese, one Moroccan, one Pakistani, and two Yemenis — sought to enter the United States and carry out a suicide mission," said the commission's staff report. "The first of them began to acquire the means to enter two years and five months before the 9/11 attack."
"The 19 hijackers applied for 23 visas and obtained 22," said the report. "Five other conspirators were denied U.S. visas. Two more obtained visas but did not participate in the attack for various reasons."
One thing these terrorists tended to have in common when they applied for visas to enter the United States was a newly minted passport.
"Most of the hijackers applied with new passports, possibly to hide travel to Afghanistan recorded in their old ones," said the report.
The terrorists who actually piloted the hijacked planes had another thing in common. This was a remarkable ability to enter, leave and re-enter the United States.
"The four pilots passed through immigration and customs inspections a total of 17 times from May 29, 2000 to August 5, 2001," said the report.
Ziad Jarrah, who flew United Airlines Flight 93, which crashed in Pennsylvania, "was the most frequent border crosser, entering the United States seven times."
Had they only let this terrorist into the United States six times, he would not have been on that flight.
Mohamed Atta, who flew American Airlines Flight 11 into the north tower, and Marwan al Shehhi, who flew United Airlines Flight 175 into the south tower, "came in three times each, entering for the last time on May 2 and July 19, 2001, respectively."
Had they only let these terrorists in twice, they would not have flown into the twin towers.
Hani Hanjour, who flew American Airlines Flight 77 into the Pentagon, had made repeated journeys to the United States in the 1990s before coming back as a student — who never went to school — in 2000.
"Hani Hanjour was the only hijacker to enter on an academic visa, arriving on December 8, 2000," said the report. "He had already attended both English and flight training schools in the United States during three stays in the 1990s. Hanjour was also the only pilot who already had a commercial pilot's license prior to entry, having acquired it in 1999 in Arizona."
"Hanjour did not attend school after entering on a student visa in December 2000, thereby violating his immigration status and making him deportable under 8 U.S.C. 1227(a)(1)(B)," said the report.
He, of course, was not deported.
This staff report concluded that "all of the hijackers violated some aspect of U.S. immigration law."
The good news is that our government has succeeded for nearly two decades in preventing another terrorist attack like 9/11. The question now: Will it continue to do so?

How Islam Conquered 2/3s of the Christian World
Revisiting the “most consequential battle in all world history.”

Recently in history, on August 20, 636, the single most consequential battle between Islam and the West took place—that of Yarmuk. Occurring just four years after Muslim prophet Muhammad had died, not only did the military engagement decide whether the Arabian creed thrives or dies; it became a chief source of inspiration and instruction for jihadis throughout the centuries, right down to the Islamic State. And yet, very few in the West are even aware of the Battle of Yarmuk’s existence—much less how it motivates contemporary Islamic terrorists.
The contestants were the Eastern Roman Empire, under Emperor Heraclius, and the newly born Arabian caliphate, under the second caliph, Omar. After a couple of years of Muslim depredations in then Christian/Roman Syria, the two forces met along the Yarmuk River. The pre-battle exchange between the two generals, the Roman-Armenian Vahan and Khalid bin al-Walid—Islam’s much revered (and near cannibalistic) “Sword of Allah”—is instructive:
The Christian commander began by diplomatically blaming Arabia’s harsh conditions and impoverished economy for giving the Arabs no choice but to raid Roman lands. Accordingly, the empire was pleased to provide them with food and coin on the condition that they return home. “It was not hunger that brought us here,” Khalid responded coolly, “but we Arabs are in the habit of drinking blood, and we are told the blood of the Romans is the sweetest of its kind, so we came to shed your blood and drink it.
Vahan’s diplomatic mask instantly dropped and he launched into a tirade against the insolent Arab: “So, we thought you came seeking what your brethren always sought” — plunder, extortion, or mercenary work. “But, alas, we were wrong. You came killing men, enslaving women, plundering wealth, destroying buildings, and seeking to drive us from our own lands.” Better people had tried to do the same but always ended up defeated, added Vahan in reference to the recent Persian Wars, before continuing:
As for you, there is no lower and more despicable people — wretched, impoverished Bedouins. . . . You commit injustices in your own nation and now ours. . . . What havoc you have created! You ride horses not your own and wear clothes not your own. You pleasure yourselves with the young white girls of Rome and enslave them. You eat food not your own, and fill your hands with gold, silver, and valuable goods [not your own]. Now we find you with all our possessions and the plunder you took from our coreligionists — and we leave it all to you, neither asking for its return nor rebuking you. All we ask is that you leave our lands. But if you refuse, we will annihilate you!
The Sword of Allah was not impressed. He began reciting the Koran and talking about one Muhammad. Vahan listened in quiet exasperation. Khalid proceeded to call on the Christian general to proclaim the shahada—that “there is no god but Allah and Muhammad is his messenger”—and thereby embrace Islam, in exchange for peace, adding, “You must also pray, pay zakat, perform hajj at the sacred house [in Mecca], wage jihad against those who refuse Allah, … and befriend those who befriend Allah and oppose those who oppose Allah,” a reference to the divisive doctrine of al-wala’ wa al-bara’. “If you refuse, there can only be war between us. . . . And you will face men who love death as you love life.”
“Do what you like,” responded Vahan. “We will never forsake our religion or pay you jizya.” Negotiations were over.
Things came to a head, quite literally, when 8,000 marching Muslims appeared before the Roman camp carrying the severed heads of 4,000 Christians atop their spears. These were the remains of 5,000 reinforcements who had come from Amman to join the Roman army at Yarmuk. The Muslims had ambushed and slaughtered them. Then, as resounding cries of “Allahu akbar” filled the Muslim camp, those Muslims standing behind the remaining 1,000 Christian captives knocked them over and proceeded to carve off their heads before the eyes of their co-religionists, whom Arabic sources describe as looking on in “utter bewilderment.”
So it would be war: 30,000 Christian Romans against 24,000 Muslim Arabs along the Yarmuk River in Syria. On the eve of battle, writes historian A. I. Akram, “the Muslims spent the night in prayer and recitation of the Quran, and reminded each other of the two blessings that awaited them: either victory and life or martyrdom and paradise.”
No such titillation awaited the Christians. They were fighting for life, family, and faith. During his pre-battle speech, Vahan explained that “these Arabs who stand before you seek to . . . enslave your children and women.” Another general warned the men to fight hard or else the Arabs “shall conquer your lands and ravish your women.” Such fears were not unwarranted. Even as the Romans were kneeling in pre-battle prayer, Arab general Abu Sufyan was prancing on his war steed, waving his spear, and exhorting the Muslims to “jihad in the way of Allah,” so that they might seize the Christians’ “lands and cities, and enslave their children and women.”
The battle took place over the course of six days. On August 20, 636, the sixth and final day, a dust storm — something Arabs were accustomed to, their opponents less so — erupted and caused mass chaos, particularly for the Romans, whose large infantry numbers proved counterproductive. Night fell. Then, according to historian Antonio Santosuosso,
[T]he terrain echoed with the terrifying din of Muslim shouts and battle cries. Shadows suddenly changed into blades that penetrated flesh. The wind brought the cries of comrades as the enemy stealthily penetrated the ranks among the infernal noise of cymbals, drums, and battle cries. It must have been even more terrifying because they had not expected the Muslims to attack by dark.
Muslim cavalrymen continued pressing on the crowded and blinded Roman infantry, using the hooves and knees of their steeds to knock down the wearied fighters. Pushed finally to the edge of the ravine, rank after rank of the remaining forces of the imperial army fell down the steep precipices to their death. “The Byzantine army, which Heraclius had spent a year of immense exertion to collect, had entirely ceased to exist,” writes British lieutenant-general and historian John Bagot Glubb. “There was no withdrawal, no rearguard action, no nucleus of survivors. There was nothing left.”
As the moon filled the night sky and the victors stripped the slain, cries of “Allahu akbar!” and “There is no god but Allah and Muhammad is his messenger” rang throughout the Yarmuk valley, the Arabian chronicler narrated.
Mere decades after Yarmuk, all ancient Christian lands between Syria to the east and Morocco to the west — nearly 4,000 miles — had been conquered by Islam. Put differently: Two-thirds of Christendom’s original, older, and wealthier territory was permanently swallowed up by the scimitar of jihad. (Eventually, and thanks to the later Turks, “Muslim armies conquered three-quarters of the Christian world,” to quote historian Thomas Madden.)
But unlike the Germanic barbarians who invaded and conquered Europe in the preceding centuries, only to assimilate into the religion, culture, and civilization of Christianity, and adopt its languages, Latin and Greek, the Arabs imposed their creed and language onto the conquered peoples so that, whereas the “Arabs” were once limited to the Arabian Peninsula, today the “Arab world” consists of some 22 nations across the Middle East and North Africa.
This would not be the case, and the world would have developed in a radically different way, had the Eastern Roman Empire defeated the invaders and sent them reeling back to Arabia. Little wonder that historians such as Francesco Gabrieli hold that “the battle of the Yarmuk had, without doubt, more important consequences than almost any other in all world history.”
Moreover and as the alert reader may have noticed, the continuity between the words and deeds of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and those of its predecessors from nearly 1,400 years ago are eerily similar. This of course is intentional. When ISIS proclaims that “American blood is best and we will taste it soon,” or “We love death as you love life,” or “We will break your crosses and enslave your women,” they are quoting in verbatim — and thereby placing themselves in the footsteps of — Khalid bin al-Walid and his companions, the original Islamic conquerors of Syria.
Similarly, ISIS’s invocation of the houris, Islam’s celestial sex-slaves promised to martyrs, is based on several anecdotes of Muslims dying by the Yarmuk River and being welcomed into paradise by these immortal concubines. So too is the choreographed ritual slaughter of “infidels,” most infamously of 21 Coptic Christians on the shores of Libya, patterned after the ritual slaughter of 1,000 captured Roman soldiers on the eve of battle.
The Eternal Jihad
Understanding what really happened in Afghanistan.

Although August 15, 2021 will forever live in infamy as the date when the Taliban reconquered Afghanistan, for over 13 centuries that date was famous for another event—Constantinople’s defeat of the caliphate, August 15, 718. While these two events separated by exactly 1,303 years are vastly different in nature—not least that in 718 Islam lost, while in 2021 it won—they both confirm one irresistible point that the confident West should take to heart: the tenacity of Islamic jihad—this relentless snake of war that always bides its time, even if by remaining coiled for many centuries, before striking.
Consider the first event. In 718, the Eastern Roman Empire (“Byzantium”) repulsed, in dramatic fashion, the Arabs. It was such a spectacular victory, and Muslim losses were so bad, that, for many centuries, the caliphates never dared make another attempt against the walls of Constantinople.
Put differently, for many centuries after the year 718, anyone living in Constantinople would have thought—and would have apparently been justified for thinking—that the Islamic threat, whatever it was elsewhere, was well behind them.
And yet, in the early 1400s—700 years after the people of Constantinople had thought they’d seen the last of jihad—it was back again besieging them, with the city finally falling to Islam on May 29, 1453.
More significantly, those who besieged and conquered Constantinople in 1453 had little to do with those who besieged it in the eighth century. The latter were Arabs, under the Umayyad caliphate centered in Damascus. Those who actually conquered Constantinople were Turks, whose capital was Adrianople (now Edirne).
On the surface there is no connection or continuity between those who in the eighth century tried to conquer, and those who in the fifteenth century did conquer, Constantinople—except, of course, for one thing: both were Muslims, and both articulated their hostility for and need to conquer Constantinople in distinctly jihadist terms: like every other infidel, the Christian kingdom had two choices before it: submit to Islam—which it rejected—or fight.
Thus, while the jihad was down in the eighth century, it was never out for the final count. It bided its time, even as empires rose and fell, and finally manifested itself again in the guise of the latest newcomers to the stage of world conquest, the Turks (who, even more ironically, were greater devotees and practitioners of jihad than even their Arab predecessors).
Seen this way, Constantinople’s mortal enemy was never really the Arabs or Turks; it was Islam, which, while experiencing highs and lows in the intervening centuries, still transformed its adherents, first Arabs then Turks, into existential enemies devoted to the slaughter and subjugation of infidels, whenever possible.
Now consider how this “ancient” and “distant” history applies to recent events. At the height of U.S. victory in Afghanistan in 2005, when both al-Qaeda and the Taliban had been all but rooted out, Ayman al-Zawahiri (current leader of al-Qaeda) was asked about the statuses of those two organizations’ leaders, who were missing in action. His response, which follows, has, in the aftermath of August 15, 2021, proven true:
Jihad in the path of Allah is greater than any individual or organization. It is a struggle between Truth and Falsehood, until Allah Almighty inherits the earth and those who live in it. Mullah Muhammad Omar and Sheikh Osama bin Laden—may Allah protect them from all evil—are merely two soldiers of Islam in the journey of jihad, while the struggle between Truth [Islam] and Falsehood [non-Islam] transcends time (Al Qaeda Reader, p.182; emphasis added).
Similarly, consider what Muhammad Arif Mustafa, a Taliban commander, just said last week:
One day mujahedeen will have victory and Islamic law will come not just to Afghanistan, but all over the world. We are not in a hurry. We believe it will come one day. Jihad will not end until the last day [emphasis added].
When one considers the state of the world, the current military and economic dominance of the West, and the general weakness of the Muslim world, surely such claims sound laughable. As seen, however, time has a way of switching the tables, making what once seemed impossible imminent.
In short, as long as Islam exists, the jihad may be down but it is never out for the count. It may take years, decades, and centuries; its name and guise may morph and change from eighth century Arab caliphates, to fifteenth century Turkish sultanates, to the twenty-first century’s loose amalgam of ISIS, al-Qaeda, Taliban, Hamas, Hezbollah, Boko Haram, al-Shabaab, etc.—but it is always there, often lying dormant, yes, though ever ready to strike at the first opportunity.
What will it be called, what guise will it take, and what new inroads will it have made in the decades and centuries to come?
Here, then, is a reminder that, when it comes to the military history of Islam and the West, the lessons imparted are far from academic and have relevance to this day — at least for the jihadis, whose mindset many in the West still refuse to acknowledge.

Bringing in Afghan Refugees with All of Their ‘Luggage’

Afghanistan has fallen to the Taliban and American forces are withdrawing. As with such ventures, this has resulted in tens, if not hundreds of thousands of Afghan refugees fleeing their own country. And as night follows day, this has also resulted in calls by many American individuals and organizations to bring in as many of those refugees as possible, because we “owe” it to the Afghans.
To hear such claims, one would think that these many thousands of refugees will immediately become part of America, sharing our values and ideas, and contributing to our communities.
What is not being talked about are the values, ideas, and culture those refugees are bringing with them.
In order to better understand the people many are calling to be brought in by the tens of thousands, let’s look at some considerations about the society from which these refugees are coming.
National Security
There are two national security issues that must be acknowledged.
First, a 2019 study found that 13% of Afghans had a lot of (4%) or a little (9%) sympathy for the Taliban.[1] This means that for every 100,000 Afghan refugees brought into the United States, we could expect about 13,000 of them to have varying degrees of sympathy for the Taliban.
Then we need to take into consideration that 39% of Afghans think that “suicide bombing” in defense of Islam is often or sometimes justified.[2] If we use the 4% number for those with a lot of sympathy for the Taliban, this means that out of every 100,000 Afghans we could have up to about 1,560 Afghans believing that “suicide bombing” could often be justified.[3]
Combining these two issues means we could be bringing in a potentially significant base of support for a jihadist group; and that base of support could include a large number willing to engage in jihadist attacks in the United States using explosives.
History of Violence
Then there is Afghanistan’s violent history. What is the impact of this history on many of those refugees we are bringing in? Consider this 2018 article:
…Afghanistan is home to nearly two generations that have grown up knowing only conflict and war. As a result, violent and aggressive behavior—particularly from young men—has become an accepted norm of Afghan society…a significant number of Afghan youth have become involved in organized crime or other illegal—and often violent—activities to fulfill their perceived obligations and duties to family…In many parts of Afghanistan, displays of aggression and intimidation represent a rite of passage for adolescent boys and a symbol of manhood for men. The social acceptance of such behavior, however, heightens the risk that intolerance of diversity and interpersonal violence, including violence against women and children, become an everyday fact of life. A 2009 report…described violence as “an everyday occurrence in the lives of a huge proportion of Afghan women.”…a majority of Afghans are exposed to violence beginning at an early age, including physical abuse at home by parents and relatives as well as the liberal use of corporal punishment at mosques, madrassas, and schools. Children witness their mothers and sisters being violently abused at the hands of family members, which comes to be accepted as a social and cultural norm, resulting in the acceptance of violence as a first—and sometimes only—option for resolving conflicts.[4]
We are importing from a culture of violence.
Rights of Women
What is the attitude many of these refugees have toward women? Here are two assessments:
Women and girls in Afghanistan continue to face widespread discrimination and human rights abuses. The country ranks among the least favourable on the Gender Inequality Index and the literacy rate for women is among the lowest in the world. Violence against women and girls is rife and the majority don’t go to school.[5]
And,
About two-thirds of men thought women in Afghanistan had too many rights and that women were too emotional to become leaders, compared to less than a third of women. And while nearly three quarters of women said a married woman should have equal rights with their partner to work outside the home, only 15 percent of men agreed. More than half of men also agreed with the statement that “more rights for women mean that men lose out”.[6]
Wife-beating is largely acceptable in Afghanistan:
Overall, 92 percent of women in Afghanistan feel that a husband is justified in hitting or beating his wife for at least one of these reasons: going out without telling the husband, neglecting the children, arguing with the husband, refusing sex, and burning the food. Seventy-eight percent of women believe that going out without telling the husband is justification for beating, while 31 percent think the same about burning the food…The Afghanistan survey added an additional question to reflect local attitudes—wearing inappropriate clothes. Sixty-three percent of Afghan women feel a husband is justified in hitting or beating his wife if she wears inappropriate clothing.[7]
94% of Afghans completely or mostly agree that a wife must always obey her husband,[8] and two-thirds of Afghan men agree or strongly agree with the statement, “Women in Afghanistan have too many rights.”[9]
Considering the information in this and the previous section, it is not surprising to hear this warning from Pierre-Marie Seve, the director and spokesman of the French think tank Institute for Justice. He noted that migrants are over-represented in nearly all categories of crime [in France] and stated that Afghans, in particular, commit more crimes than asylum seekers from other countries.[10]
Prepubescent Marriage
Prepubescent marriage is acceptable in Afghanistan. In 2016, the Pew Research Center released a report titled “Many countries allow child marriage.”[11] An appendix to that report titled “Marriage Laws around the World” provided this interesting information about approaches to child marriage in Afghanistan:[12]
Despite a law setting the legal minimum age for marriage at 16 (15 with the consent of a parent or guardian and the court) for girls and 18 for boys, international and local observers continued to report widespread early marriage… By law a marriage contract requires verification that the bride is 16 years of age, but only a small fraction of the population had birth certificates…some girls as young as six or seven were promised in marriage, with the understanding the actual marriage would be delayed until the child reached puberty. Reports indicated, however, that this delay was rarely observed and young girls were sexually violated by the groom or by older men in the family, particularly if the groom was also a child.
Will instances of prepubescent marriage soon be coming to your community or to a community nearby?
Sharia as the official Law of the Land
Afghans almost uniformly agree (99%) that Sharia should be the official law of the land.[13] And among those Afghans who say Sharia should be the law of the land, 61% say it should apply to all citizens.[14]
81% of the Afghans who support Sharia as the official law of the land favor corporal punishments for theft; 85% favor stoning as the punishment for adultery, and 79% favor the death penalty for apostasy.[15]
In terms of honor killings for pre- or extra-marital sex, 60% of Afghans believed honor killings of women were often or sometimes justified; 59% believed the same about killing men in those circumstances.[16]
These are majority views among Afghans that are incompatible with American values and laws.
Integrating into American society
The Afghan values and beliefs mentioned above are major hurdles to the idea of Afghans integrating as a group into American society. In addition, only 5% of Afghans speak English,[17] and the adult literacy rate is only about 43% (although the numbers vary). 66% of Afghans believe Western popular culture harms morality in their country,[18] and 96% believe that trying to convert others to Islam is a religious duty.[19]
These are not harbingers of widespread social/cultural integration by these refugees into American society.
Conclusion
Those on the side of bringing tens of thousands of Afghan refugees into the United States have been able to rely on noble sounding rhetoric and emotional arguments to confront those who are not as enthusiastic about that venture.
However, the facts presented in this article show that in reality these refugees are coming from a culture and a land whose values and history are completely different from, and largely incompatible with, those of the United States.
What is being generally overlooked is that there are more socially/culturally compatible countries for these refugees that actually border Afghanistan. Perhaps what we might “owe” these refugees is assistance in finding refuge in those neighboring countries.

Migration Groups Want $8 Billion for Afghan Migrants

Pro-migration groups want at least $8 billion in Americans’ money — and a new citizenship law — to help fast-track at least 50,000 mostly unvetted Afghan migrants, according to the Washington Post.
“The number we’ve been floating around, just on the back of the napkin, is $5 billion for [the Department of Health and Human Services], $2 billion for [the Department of] State, and $1 billion for [the Department of Homeland Security], at a minimum,” said Mark Hetfield, president of the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society.
The advocates also told the Washington Post that they want the incoming Afghans to jump the line in the nation’s asylum courts. The line is several years long because Democrats have allowed at least two million Central American migrants into the United States since 2009 under the claim that they need asylum from crime and poverty. The Post reported:
Congress could create a mechanism to allow them to “adjust” to legal permanent residency, aid groups say, along the lines of the Cuban Adjustment Act of 1966 or more recent programs to aid Iraqis.
The [Afghan] parolees could apply for asylum, stating a fear of persecution if returned to Afghanistan, but the U.S. asylum system is badly overloaded by applicants from the Mexico border.
A survey by Rasmussen Reports shows that the public does not approve of the Democrats’ rush to naturalize tens of thousands of Afghans. A majority of Americans oppose the resettlement of more than 50,000 Afghans in the United States, according to an August 18-19 survey of 1,000 likely voters by Rasmussen.

Many of the migrants could impose more chaotic diversity to Americans’ society, in part, because many are fundamentalist Muslims who lack passports.
Many pro-migration lobby groups are lavishly funded by wealthy pro-migration donors, including Mark Zuckerberg, George Soros, Brad Smith, the president of Microsoft, and others who hide their identity.
But the groups say they cannot get access to usual spigots of taxpayer cash because many Afghan migrants are being sneaked into the United States via small a side door in U.S. immigration law.
For example, only a few of the Afghans fought alongside the U.S. military, so only a few can get “Special Immigrant Visas” (SIV) created by Congress.
Also, only a few of the migrants were legally approved as refugees amid the rush by thousands of Afghans into American aircraft.

So most of the roughly 20,000 migrants now in the United States were allowed into the United States via the little-used “parole” side door in U.S. immigration law. The parole side door was intended for a few charitable cases such as sick passengers on an international flight, “on a case-by-case basis for urgent humanitarian reasons or significant public benefit,” according to federal law.
President Joe Biden’s border chief, Alejandro Mayorkas, may try to admit 50,000 Afghans via the parole door, Hetfield told the Washington Post.
The requested $8 billion in cash “would give [Afghan] parolees the same amount of assistance as refugees or SIVs would get,” Hetfield said.
The changed citizenship laws would allow the paroled Afghans to quickly win green cards and citizenship, many of whom lack vital identification documents or even endorsements by U.S. soldiers. That fast-track process could deliver tens of thousands from Afghanistan to the polling booths by 2028.

Meanwhile, many millions of Americans are unemployed, earn little money, and have difficulty paying their rents. Much of that economic distress is caused by the federal government’s policy of encouraging migration into the United States.
Overall, Biden’s government is expected to import 1.6 million migrants in 2021, or roughly one migrant for every two American births in the year. This policy extracts many new workers, consumers, and renters from poor countries for the benefit of U.S. employers, investors, and government agencies — and also to eventually deliver many potential voters to the Democratic party.
This policy of extraction migration damages ordinary Americans’ career opportunities, cuts their wages, and raises their housing costs.
More migration also means that coastal investors can hire cheap foreign labor on the coasts instead of investing in heartland jobs or deploying wage-boosting robots. Immigration also shrinks Americans’ political clout and wrecks their open-minded, equality-promoting civic culture.
Refugee resettlement costs American taxpayers nearly $9 billion every five years, according to research, and each refugee costs taxpayers about $133,000 over the course of their lifetime. Within five years, an estimated 16 percent of all refugees admitted will need housing assistance paid for by taxpayers.
Study: Over Half of Migrants Are on American Taxpayer-Funded Welfare

More than half of the nation’s non-citizen population — including legal immigrants, foreign visa workers, and illegal aliens — use American taxpayer-funded welfare after arriving in the United States, a new analysis reveals.
Research by Center for Immigration Studies Director of Research Steven Camarota finds that about 55 percent of non-citizen households in the U.S. use at least one form of welfare compared to just 32 percent of households headed by native-born Americans.
Camarota’s research analyzes the U.S. Census Bureau’s Survey of Income and Program Participation data from 2018, showing that 49 percent of households headed by foreign-born residents, including naturalized American citizens, use at least one welfare program.
In 2017, economist George Borjas called the U.S. immigration system “the largest anti-poverty program in the world” at the expense of America’s working and middle class.

Specifically, foreign-born residents used vastly more Medicaid compared to native-born Americans and food stamps. For example, while 33 percent of foreign-born residents use Medicaid, just 20 percent of native-born Americans do so.
Likewise, while 31 percent of foreign-born residents are on food stamps, only 19 percent of native-born Americans use the program.
Camarota’s research reveals that even after years and years of residing in the U.S., foreign-born resident households continue to use high levels of welfare.
About 44 percent of foreign-born residents who resided in the U.S. for 10 years or less use at least one form of welfare. Roughly 50 percent of those who resided in the U.S. for more than 10 years are on welfare.
When naturalized Americans are excluded from that count, the level of welfare use rises significantly for those who have resided in the U.S. for a while. For example, among non-citizen households who resided in the U.S. for 10 years or less, 40 percent use welfare. For those in the U.S. for more than 10 years, about 62 percent are on welfare.
The latest data comes after similar numbers were released in March 2019 that showed that, in 2014, non-citizen households used nearly twice as much welfare as native-born Americans.
Currently, there is an estimated record high of 44.5 million foreign-born residents living in the U.S. This is nearly quadruple the immigrant population in 2000. The vast majority of those arriving in the country every year — more than 1.5 million annually — are low-skilled foreign nationals who go on to compete for jobs against working class Americans.
At current legal immigration levels, the Census Bureau projects that about 1-in-6 U.S. residents will be foreign-born by 2060 with the foreign-born population hitting a record 69 million.

Report: Afghans Arriving at U.S. Military Bases to Get $1,250 Payments

Afghans arriving in the United States and being temporarily resettled at U.S. military bases will receive one-time payments from the State Department, funded by American taxpayers.
As Breitbart News reported, President Joe Biden’s administration is looking to turn various military bases in Texas, Wisconsin, New Jersey, Virginia, New Mexico, and Indiana into refugee camps that can accommodate about 50,000 Afghans.
Most of all Afghans headed to military bases for temporary resettlement are arriving on “humanitarian parole,” which does not expire for at least two years. These Afghans are not eligible for Special Immigrant Visas (SIVs), P-2 visas, or refugee status.
According to the Washington Post, Afghans arriving at military bases will secure a $1,250 one-time payment provided to them through the State Department and funded by American taxpayers.
Among the Afghans arriving in the U.S. — from Dulles International Airport in Virginia and Philadelphia International Airport in Pennsylvania — are those who have little-to-no ties to America and many who do not have the most basic paperwork to prove their identities. The Biden administration, the Post notes, has yet to disclose what they are doing with Afghans who fail the vetting process.
Last week, Bloomberg reported that Afghans flagged with “ongoing security concerns” may still be resettled across the U.S. with some monitoring by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). This week, top Biden officials confirmed that Afghans “flagged for concerns” have sought entry to the U.S.
Over the last 20 years, nearly a million refugees have been resettled in the nation — more than double that of residents living in Miami, Florida, and it would be the equivalent of annually adding the population of Pensacola, Florida.
Refugee resettlement costs American taxpayers nearly $9 billion every five years, according to research, and each refugee costs taxpayers about $133,000 over the course of their lifetime. Within five years, an estimated 16 percent of all refugees admitted will need housing assistance paid for by taxpayers.

Armed Human Smuggler Arrested in Texas near Border

Border Patrol agents in South Texas teamed up with state and local law enforcement to interdict several human smuggling operations, one ending with an armed suspect.
Falfurrias Border Patrol Station agents assigned to the interior checkpoint on U.S. Highway 281 in Brooks County, Texas, on August 31 observed a brown Ford Explorer approaching for inspection, according to the Rio Grande Valley Sector. Officials reported the driver appeared nervous and referred him to a secondary station.
During inspection, the agents questioned the occupants of the vehicle and determined they were illegally present in the United States. They arrested the migrants and the driver. During an inspection of the SUV, agents found two semi-automatic pistols.
Later that day, Weslaco Station agents received information about a black sedan near the Rio Grande in Donna, Texas. Agents responded and observed the vehicle heading north, away from the river. The sedan quickly made a U-turn and drove back to the river where the occupants jumped out and fled into the brush.
Agents apprehended four migrants. They observed two people making their way across the Rio Grande back to Mexico.
McAllen Station agents attempted to stop a suspicious vehicle just north of Edinburg, Texas. The driver failed to yield when the agents attempted a traffic stop. The pursuit ended near San Manuel, Texas. The agents arrested the driver and five “noncitizens” in the vehicle.
Border Patrol agents responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle inside a ranch near Encinal, Texas, on August 31. As agents approached the pickup truck, it failed to yield and fled.
Texas Department of Public Safety troopers and officers from the Encinal Police Department joined in the pursuits the vehicle fled east on Highway 44. DPS troopers deployed tire deflation devices, bringing the pursuit to a safe conclusion.
The occupants of the vehicle fled into the brush. Agents apprehended six Mexican nationals who are illegally present in the U.S.
Vehicle pursuits are becoming more frequent in South Texas as smugglers become desperate to move their cargo into the U.S. interior. Chases are becoming more commonplace as far as 200 miles inland, Texas sheriffs say.

Laredo Sector Border Patrol agents utilizing Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) detected a group of 30 migrants preparing to enter the United States illegally. Ground-based agents later intervened.
Laredo Sector Chief Patrol Agent Matthew Hudak tweeted an image captured by an sUAS flying along the Texas-Mexico border. Drone operators observed video showing a group of 30 migrants attempting to enter the U.S. from Mexico.
Agents later arrived on the scene and took the migrants into custody.
Border Patrol agents have increased their use of technology like the sUAS aircraft to enhance their ability to detect and apprehend illegal border crossings in remote areas.
In April, Del Rio Sector agents utilized sUAS technology to apprehend more than 450 migrants in a two-week period, Breitbart Texas reported.
A video tweeted by Del Rio Sector Chief Patrol Agent Austin Skero shows a group of migrants running through the brush. The group appears to squat down to avoid detection by Border Patrol agents.
With the use of the sUAS drones, monitoring agents are able to clearly see the location of the hiding migrants and direct ground teams to make the arrest.
The operation of sUAS vehicles is not unique to South Texas Border Patrol operations. Earlier in February, sUAS pilots in the Yuma Sector utilized the drone’s technology to locate three migrants hiding in the thick brush along the roadway, Chief Patrol Agent Chris Clem tweeted. The pilot directed the Border Patrol agent directly to the migrants’ hiding spot where he was able to place them in custody.

Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol agents carried out multiple rescues of migrants in life-threatening situations over the past few days. One included a mother and her nine-year-old son who human smugglers abandoned in the deadly ranch lands of Brooks County, Texas.
Falfurrias Border Patrol Station officials received an emergency call on Saturday morning from a Salvadoran migrant who said his nine-year-old brother became lost on a ranch as they attempted to circumvent the interior checkpoint located on U.S. Highway 281 in Brooks County, according to information received from Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol officials.

Agents responded to the GPS coordinates provided by the brother and, within one hour, found the child and his mother. The agents transported the mother and child to the Falfurrias Station for medical evaluation and processing.
Later that day, a U.S. Coast Guard riverine unit patrolling the Rio Grande near La Joya, Texas, came upon a raft with three people attempting to cross from Mexico into Texas. The smugglers on the Mexican riverbank quickly pulled the raft back to their shore, causing the raft to capsize.
Most of the migrants quickly scrambled to the Mexican side. However, one man immediately became in distress and called for help as he repeatedly went underwater, officials reported. The Guardsmen positioned their boat alongside the drowning migrants and pulled him aboard. They transported him to Border Patrol agents for evaluation and processing.
On Friday evening, Rio Grande City Station agents received information about two people running toward a waiting vehicle near Roma, Texas. A Texas Department of Public Safety trooper responded to the area and approached the vehicle. A female quickly jumped out of the moving vehicle.
A second subject jumped from the vehicle and fled into the brush. After stopping the vehicle, the driver, a U.S. citizen, told the trooper he is on federal probation for narcotics and human smuggling.
The trooper called the local EMS service for the woman who injured herself when she jumped from the moving vehicle. During her medical evaluation, the Guatemalan woman lost consciousness. The EMS crew transported her to a local hospital for her leg injury. The second migrant was not found.
Another Coast Guard riverine unit patrolling the Rio Grande near Mission, Texas, on Sunday morning found a male migrant attempting to hold onto a log in the middle of the river. He also utilized plastic bottles stuffed in his shirt to try and stay afloat, officials stated. The Guardsmen pulled their boat alongside the log and pulled the Mexican national into the boat. Border Patrol agents onshore medically assessed the man and transported him to the station for processing.
100 Migrants Died in One Texas Border Sector this Year

Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol agents and local law enforcement officials found the bodies or skeletal remains of more than 100 migrants so far this fiscal year.
Despite nearly 1,000 rescues and new technology deployed to help lost migrants call for help, Border Patrol agents in the Rio Grande Valley Sector found the bodies or remains of more than 100 migrants so far this fiscal year, according to information obtained from U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Some of these migrants drowned while crossing the Rio Grande border from Mexico. Others died on the vast arid ranchlands both on the border and further inland.
CBP officials stated that most of the more than 100 deaths of migrants came on the “rugged ranchlands in south Texas.” On many of these ranches, human smugglers send migrants on a foot journey around interior Border Patrol checkpoints.
During these treks, if a migrant gets separated, falls behind, get’s injured or ill, or for any other reason, can’t keep up, the smugglers leave them behind to die,” Brook County Sheriff Benny Martinez told Breitbart Texas. So far this calendar year, Sheriff Martinez’s deputies recovered the bodies or skeletal remains of at least 70 migrants.
“We’ve had a 140% increase in dead bodies, a 130% increase in 9-1-1 calls, over 200% increase in rescues,” Sheriff Martinez said during testimony before Congress during a hearing this week. “We’re 70 miles north of the [Rio Grande] river, we do have a checkpoint, a lot of private land, and this is what’s occurring in our backyard. There’s a lack of manpower, there’s a lack of resources.”
Border Patrol agents in this sector conducted nearly 1,000 in the sector as emergency calls from lost migrants became a near-daily occurrence, officials stated. Border Patrol agents also deployed 24 rescue beacons on the ranchlands to help reduce the number of deaths. By the end of the fiscal year, September 30, another 24 will be deployed.
CBP officials added:
Migrants are exposed to dangers even before setting foot on U.S. soil. In the RGV, a common method of illegal entry is via inflatable raft. Smugglers will overfill rafts, many times leading to the possibility of the vessel capsizing. Another ongoing threat remains to be heat related illnesses, many of which occur after migrants are abandoned by smugglers. Checkpoint agents also remain vigilant for smuggling loads involving tractor trailers as smugglers use holding capacities of trailers to maximize their profits, dangerously filling 50 to 100 people in non-ventilated containers for hours at a time. Law enforcement partners frequently observe the reckless behavior of smugglers attempting to evade arrest while jeopardizing the lives of those they smuggle.
Distressed migrants abandoned by smugglers are left in desolate areas when they are unable to keep up with the rest of the group. RGV receives phone calls from family members pleading for agents to search specific areas for their loved ones after being notified the person was left behind by the foot guide. Regrettably, there are instances when loved ones find help and return with assistance only to find their loved one has succumbed to the elements. Brooks and Kennedy Counties are approximately a 70-mile hike from the border and is primarily vast, desolate ranch lands. The area is notorious for migrant deaths, especially during summer months, as smugglers attempt circumventing the checkpoint on foot. Last week alone, 10 decedents were discovered on the ranch lands. This month, more than 20 people have lost their lives during smuggling attempts.
CBP officials also discussed the reckless disregard for human life held by human smugglers who “continue to try these brazen attempts with zero regard for the lives they endanger nor to the health of the citizens of our great nation.”

Migrants Hide in New Car Transports on South Texas Trains

On Tuesday, Border Patrol agents in Hebbronville, Texas, discovered 19 migrants hidden on a Kansas City Southern train during routine inspection. The migrants were found hidden in a box car carrying new vehicles from Mexico.
On Wednesday, in a repeat of the previous day’s event, an additional 34 migrants were discovered in cars. The migrants were arrested without incident.
These episodes are becoming all too common along the southwest border during the current crisis. The discovery of migrants hidden on freight trains is a daily occurrence. The migrants are found near the border and sometimes miles away during inspection by Border Patrol agents and local law enforcement. Migrants are increasingly finding unique and sometimes dangerous places to hide on the trains leaving Laredo, Texas.
During Thursday’s train search, 15 additional migrants were found trapped inside a grain hopper, covered in a white powdery substance. This discovery prompted the Border Patrol to summon the Hebbronville Fire Department for assistance in decontamination and treatment of those found trapped. According to the Border Patrol, there were no serious injuries.
Laredo is the largest commercial crossing from Mexico into Texas. More than 3,600 trains with over 400,000 rail cars enter the U.S. through Laredo annually.
