The Coming Economic Storm

President Donald Trump, while meeting with a group of military leaders in the White House in 2017, cryptically warned of “the calm before the storm.” When asked by reporters what he meant he simply replied, “You’ll find out.”

There has been much speculation as to what “storm” Trump was referring to, ranging from overturning a fraudulent election to devolution. While his comments from five years ago remain inscrutable, today a real storm is on the horizon, plain to any American consumer. This storm is economic, perhaps a hurricane, as JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon described it, the likes of which may be terrifying and life-changing to those caught in the maelstrom.

YouTube screen grab

Before I am accused of hyperbole, several financial gurus have likened current economic conditions to a storm, as I chronicled in a recent article. An SMU professor agrees, “We’re seeing these massive dark clouds on the horizon.” A coming storm is an apt description.

Was the Trump presidency, with $2 gas, low unemployment and inflation, peace and prosperity, the calm before the current economic storm? Did Trump know what lay ahead, teasing out a prediction? Regardless of what President Trump was alluding to, an economic storm is definitely coming, not just on the horizon but already taking its toll on hard-working Americans.

Inflation is at 8.6 percent, the official government number for the CPI. This is based on a basket of goods and depending on what is measured and how it is weighted, may misrepresent the inflation rate facing consumers on a daily basis. For example, the Truflation Dashboard reports inflation at 13.2 percent, with food costs up 26.5 percent.

The producer price index rose 10.8 percent in May, foretelling higher consumer prices soon reaching store shelves. Small business optimism fell to a new 48 year low. Pessimistic business owners will not be hiring new employees or expanding their businesses. Many may close up shop instead.

Anyone visiting a gas station sees the price over $5.00 a gallon, more than twice what it was a few years ago. As most goods and services require transportation costs, meaning fuel, expect to see this price increase passed along to consumers through higher prices.

The stock market is down bigly from the Trump days and is now officially in a bear market, meaning markets are down 20 percent or more from their most recent all-time high. Despite the unemployment rate hovering at 3.6 percent, this represents only those actively seeking employment, not those who have given up looking for work.

The labor force participation rate, a better measure of who is working and who is not, dropped to 62.3 percent, the lowest level since the mid-1970s, excluding the months during the COVID shutdowns. What are President Biden and his economic wizards doing to alleviate this?

Inflation is too much money chasing too few goods, a remnant of irresponsible government policy and leadership going back decades. This was exacerbated by copious COVID relief money, paying Americans to stay home and not work or produce. As COVID is waning, the Biden administration, rather than taking its foot off the stimulus accelerator, is continuing to create money and spend like a drunken sailor.

Boneheaded energy policy, reversing Trump era energy independence, has restricted energy production to the point that we are begging the Saudis for oil. Higher energy costs mean inflation and less production as it costs more to work and produce goods and services.

To combat inflation, the Fed must raise interest rates, ideally to above the inflation rate, in order to break the cycle of easy money chasing scarce goods. Last week the Fed hiked its benchmark interest rate by 0.75 percentage point, the largest increase since 1994. This translates to higher borrowing costs for home mortgages, business loans, and credit card balances, throwing cold water on the economy. Mortgage rates have topped 6 percent, the highest since 2008, which will chill the housing market and hurt borrowers who have adjustable rate mortgages.

As the economy slows, we inch closer to a recession. One more quarter of negative GDP places us in a recession, hitting the trifecta along with a bear market and runaway inflation. Is this what Biden and his handlers meant by “Build Back Better”?

Speaking of Biden, his “approval rating fell to 39 percent in its third straight weekly decline, approaching the lowest level of his presidency, according to a Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll.” Rasmussen Reports confirms, showing Biden at about 40 percent approval, almost 10 points lower than Trump at similar points in their presidencies. Despite the hot air emanating from the White House, Americans recognize the coming economic storm.

Consumer sentiment plunged to the lowest level ever measured by the University of Michigan since 1952. Biden’s disapproval of his job on inflation is 71 percent, topping Jimmy Carter’s 66 percent disapproval in 1978. President Biden has “never been more optimistic” about the economy, but perhaps he is the only one. His recent fall off his bicycle is a metaphor for his presidency.

Some Americans are calling it quits, “California exodus continues, now to Mexico to escape high prices, rising crime rates.” Imagine finding drug cartel and crime-infested Mexico preferable to California.

What if the Fed rate hike is too little too late? Will there be additional interest rate increases, further increasing the cost of borrowing and producing, worsening the overall economy? As the CPI rises, government benefit programs indexed to the CPI will also pay out more money. Where does the government get this additional money aside from simply printing it, worsening the inflation they are trying to fight?

What happens when consumers stop purchasing non-necessities since they have little money left over after purchasing food and fuel? What does that mean for the rest of the economy, from travel and leisure to nonessential consumer goods?

The axiom of stopping digging when in a hole is not something the Biden administration is capable of understanding. Where does this go? Economist Herbert Stein wisely observed, "If something cannot go on forever, it will stop." That includes the U.S. economy and assumed prosperity that virtually all Americans have become accustomed to.

Internet entrepreneur Kim Dot Com recently posted a Twitter thread about the world being on the brink of a major economic collapse, not because of Putin or Russia, but because America and much of the first world has been spending money they don’t have. Is that the coming storm? Is it already here?

What are those in charge doing about it? Investigating January 6, promoting drag queens in elementary school classrooms, and trying to neuter the Second Amendment, making it difficult for the American people to defend the rest of the Constitution and Bill of Rights. None of these will help the economy.

Where are Republicans? Are they pushing back and offering a new pathway out of this economic storm? Or they busy cozying up to Democrats and the corporate media, trying to gut the Second Amendment? Where are the warriors when we need them?

Was this the storm Trump was referring to? Whether it was an economic storm or not, buckle up as the American house of cards is wobbly and may collapse in the months ahead.

Who foments violence in America?

Our nation is being brutalized by violence in city after city.  NYChicagoBaltimore, St. Louis, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, and more.  Criminals are being allowed to run free among law-abiding citizens in Democrat-run cities throughout the country.  Soros-backed DAs were promoted precisely to do what they are doing:  foment crime and chaos.  Let the homicidal, drug-addled amongst our increasingly violent population run free to do what they do.

During the summer of 2020, BLM and Antifa wrought violence and did billions of dollars in damage across America.  The Democrat left supported those riots and raised money to bail out the perpetrators no matter what they had done.  Our media, of course, supported the rioters too; they love nothing better than exacerbating an already-explosive situation.  The media do not investigate the obvious possibility that the rioters were recruited and paid to do what they do.  Ask one of them why they are rioting and you will get a blank look.  They may be doing it for a paycheck, not principles or ideology.

If only more Americans realized how contrived such domestic violence is and how planned and orchestrated by the left the events of January sixth were.  We are all pawns in their Marxist/ Stalinist plot to make the US part of a globalist/communist bloc administered by the ghouls at the World Economic Forum.

Who is it that wants to strip Americans of their Second Amendment right to bear arms?  The Democrat radicals of course.  How better to control a population once they have been stripped of any and all means to defend themselves?  Ask Stalin, Hitler and Mao.  That is precisely how they began the genocides each of those tyrants committed against their own people.  This left of ours has such contempt for us, is certain we are so ignorant, that we do not know this essential fact of history that we can be fooled into relinquishing perhaps the most important of our basic civil rights.

Not so fast.  There are enough of us who are cognizant enough of the evil that men can do to see the details of their end game.  Their “great reset” means relegating us all to slave status.  “You will own nothing and be happy” is just one of their mantras.  They, the globalist elites, view the vast numbers of the world’s population as “useless” peons to be  brought under their control.  Yuval Hariri is Klaus Schwab’s closet adviser.  These are well and truly evil people, as if out of a science fiction horror film.  It is who they are.  They include members of the WEF. They include Pelosi, Schumer, Soros, Bill GatesAnthony Fauci and the mad scientists who do his bidding.  They include our wholly propagandistic media, including Fox News of late.  Fox News too is too cowardly to buck the mandates of the left.  They too pushed the experimental vaccines that have done incalculable damage to so many.  And now they mean to jab even babies who are not remotely at risk of dying of covid.  The globalists are committing a planned and executed violent crime against humanity.  Pity the families who do not realize the jabs may well be lethal.

The left loves mass shootings, almost to the point that one might wonder, do they solicit them?  They seem to always serve their cause.  We know the FBI recruited the misanthropes who got on board their “kidnap Governor Whitmer” scheme.  Those men were framed.  The events of January sixth were easily as likely to have been planned and executed by the FBI in conjunction with known collaborators in Antifa and BLM.  Why have we not learned where that deceased shooter in Ulvade got the cash to purchase the high tech weapons he used to kill all those children?  Why did the local police let him have his way without interruption?  Where did the mass murderer in that Buffalo market learn to shoot like a military pro?  The left loves these horrific events because they think they can build on them, use them to strip all law-abiding citizens of their right to defend themselves.  Do they make them happen?  Seems possible.

Dinesh D’Souza’s film 2000 Mules has taught us all about geo-tracking.  Catherine Englebrecht and Greg Phillips used cell phone data to prove that the Zuckerberg-funded drop boxes were stuffed with harvested and fake ballots to cheat in the 2020 election in numerous states.  Now we know that the DOJ used the same technology to track anyone and everyone who was present at the Capitol on January sixth.  That is how they tracked down totally innocent Americans and arrested them for being there.  As everyone knows, a few hundred of them have been held in prison without due process, some for nearly eighteen months and still without a firm trial date.

DC under the Biden administration is operating as Stalin did when he put on his show trials.  Our DOJ is acting Stalinist.  It is allowing the harassment of our Supreme Court Justices even though such protests are against the law.  The Biden DOJ is criminally out of control and abusing good citizens.  We are living in a surveillance state and too many people are being illegitimately punished simply for taking their civil rights for granted.  The First Amendment has been abrogated.

The violent perpetrators of the riots of 2020, like the criminals wreaking havoc on innocent civilians in cities throughout the nation, have been given free rein to riot, assault, freely use drugs, and murder, all according to the globalist plan to take the US down.  Our southern border is now a thoroughfare for migrants from around the world to enter the US illegally at Biden’s invitation.

How many Americans will die at the hands of criminal illegals?  Too many to count.  Perhaps those inevitable deaths are part of the left’s vast depopulation strategy.  They will occur, as they have so many times already.  The man who so senselessly killed Kate Steinle in 2015 has been sentenced to time served.  In a sane world, he would have been sentenced to death.

Bottom line?  It is the left that foments and relishes violence.  They encourage it.  They need it and delight in using it against the rest of us.  Consider the pro-abortion groups Jane’s Revenge and Ruth Sent Us.  Both groups vow to engage in violence if Roe v. Wade is overturned.  They do not believe in “choice.”  They believe in totalitarianism.

Their way or the highway.  That pretty much sums up the American left today.  Violence to further their cause?  Good.  The Constitution and the freedoms it guarantees to us all?  Bad.  Unacceptable.  Civil society, family values, the fact of two genders, education vs. indoctrination, fair elections, American sovereignty?  Bad.  American civil society is under attack and too may people are still taking for granted our liberty.

20 Signs Of The Staggering Decline Of The American Middle Class Family

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nHc3TS2JFzU

We just got more evidence that the middle class is being systematically destroyed in America. At this point, millions of people out there have already grown accustomed to barely scraping by from month to month. But that is not what being “middle class” is supposed to be about. Middle-class families should be able to make more money than they have to spend on everyday necessities because is only by doing so that they can build long-term wealth. Unfortunately, income growth has not kept up with the pace of the rising cost of living, and millions of households have taken massive amounts of debt. At the same time, the labor market doesn't offer good-paying jobs that support middle-class life, and the lack of these positions has been contributing to the decline of this income group all across the country. In the early 1970s, the middle class accounted for around 60 percent of the population, but now middle-income households are rapidly becoming a minority in the United States. And as economic conditions continue to deteriorate, millions of hard-working families all over America are being stretched financially like never before. “In America, the middle class can no longer afford retirement. Middle-class Americans face sharp economic inequality, with ownership of financial assets highly concentrated among the wealthy,” explained Tyler Bond, NIRS research manager. “Now that we have a retirement system largely built around the individual ownership of financial assets in 401(k) accounts, middle-class Americans are struggling to accumulate sufficient financial assets during their working years. This means the retirement outlook for many in the middle class is bleak at best.” Since the onset of the health crisis, the U.S. economy has been decaying at an alarming pace. Over the past two years, the middle class has gotten smaller and smaller in this country, and now it seems that another economic downturn is upon us once again. So many families are already living on the edge right now. Recent surveys have exposed that well over 50% of the population is living paycheck to paycheck and that most Americans don't have emergency savings or a financial cushion to fall back on. When you are living on the edge, there is always a danger that you could fall over. Since 2020, we have never seen so many middle-class Americans falling straight into poverty. In other words, unless dramatic changes happen in America, the middle class is going to be absolutely eviscerated in the next decade. We must wake up now. The middle class is dying right before our eyes, and if we want to save it, we must take action now. Today, we compiled a series of new numbers that expose the rapid downfall of the U.S. middle-class.

15 Signs That The Social Decay In America Is Worse Than It Has Ever Been Before

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDTdgIJcoD8

The social fabric of the United States is rapidly deteriorating. Right now, virtually any measure of social welfare is showing us that social decay in America is accelerating at a very shocking pace. Our main institutions are either being dismantled or falling apart. At the same time, civil disorder continues to trigger unprecedented chaos in several parts of our country. Millions of Americans don't have access to proper housing, food, and education, and the gap between the 'haves' and the 'have-nots' has never been wider. The lack of proper education to help Americans thrive and accomplish financial stability is another sign of societal breakdown. Most colleges and universities are failing in one of their most basic missions: to equip students with the tools they need for a career. Millions of students graduate each year totally ill-prepared to earn a living and pay off the debt they’ve accumulated getting their degrees — at least 40% of those who start college don’t finish within six years. Despite these problems, colleges continue to raise tuition and to pay for these ever-increasing costs, students are borrowing more money and taking on more and more debt. And with federal loans accounting for much of the $1.5 trillion in outstanding student loan debt, and more than a million people defaulting on their loans, taxpayers are picking up much of the tab for this broken system while our younger generations remain utterly unprepared for the challenges of adult life. In the world’s wealthiest country, more and more people are living on the streets. Homelessness is a significant indicator of social decay. There are 750,000 Americans who are homeless on any given night, with one in five of them considered chronically homeless. Around 70% of the homeless are individuals, and families with children make up for the remaining 30%. Living without proper access to housing puts many people in very a vulnerable position, oftentimes, their lives are at risk. An examination of 20 US urban areas found that around 13,000 homeless people are victimized by disease, extreme weather, and substance abuse every year. The number of victims shot up by 77% in the five years ending in 2020. Today, the average life expectancy of a homeless person in America is just 50 years. There will be no future for us if we stay on this highly self-destructive path. The choices that we make individually and collectively as a nation are critical for the health of our society. Throughout all human history, great empires have fallen because societies have consistently made the wrong choices. So if we want to prevent the downfall of America, we must start making better choices. But if we are going to change direction, we better start doing it now because time is running out, and it won’t be too long before it is gone completely. Today, we decided to expose some worrying facts about the social breakdown happening all around us.
