Pelosi Says ‘Inflation Reduction Act’ Includes ‘Strong Climate Provisions to Save the Planet’ - And No Funds Wasted On Securing the Border With Narcomex
The former acting DHS secretary said that a new Fox News poll shows that “the vast majority of Americans disagree with this broken and failed border strategy that the administration is undertaking.”

(CNSNews.com) - House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D.-Calif.) sent a “Dear Colleague” letter to fellow Democrats in the House on Wednesday promoting the “Inflation Reduction Act,” which the House will vote on today.
One of the things she applauded about this “inflation reduction” bill was what she said it would do to “save the planet.”
“On Friday, House Democrats will pass and send to the president the landmark Inflation Reduction Act,” Pelosi said in her letter.
“This life-changing legislation,” she said, “increases the leverage of the people’s interest over the special interest: … Strong climate provisions to save the planet and lower families’ energy costs.”
In fact, the 730-page “Inflation Reduction Act”—that passed the Senate on a 50-50 vote with Vice President Kamala Harris casting the tie-breaker—cited “greenhouse gas” or “greenhouse gases” 120 times.
“The charge would start at $900 per metric ton of methane, increasing to $1,500 after two years, which equates to $36 and $60 per metric ton of carbon dioxide equivalent, respectively,” said the Congressional Research Service. “If enacted, this charge would be the first time the federal government would directly impose a charge, fee, or tax on GHG emissions.
Former Acting DHS Secretary: DHS Flew Migrants to NYC for Months; Mayor Adams Didn’t Care Until He Saw Them Getting Off Buses

(CNSNews.com) - Former Acting DHS Director Chad Wolf said Friday that the mayors of New York City and Washington, D.C. should be leaning on the Biden administration to actually do something about the border crisis so that hundreds of thousands of migrants aren’t flooding into cities across the country.
Despite being turned down the first time, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser wrote a letter to Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, asking him to send in the National Guard to help D.C. deal with the migrants that are being bused to the nation’s capital by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott.
When asked whether Bowser should receive help from the National Guard, Wolf said, “No, and in fact the National Guard should be down on the border actually trying to solve this crisis.
“Look, what Mayor Bowser, Mayor Adams in New York City should be doing is leaning on the Biden administration to put policies and procedures in place to stop this crisis so that we don't have hundreds of thousands of migrants going into all cities across the country. That's what they need to be focused on,” he told Fox Business’s “Mornings with Maria Bartiromo.”
“As far as the National Guard is concerned, they need to be advocating again for that at the border to help Border Patrol, to help CBP control that border, but it’s gonna take leadership by the administration to do that at the end of the day,” Wolf said.
He called it “absolutely bizarre” and “very hypocritical” that Adams is complaining about 250 illegal immigrants being bused to his city when Texas deals with 7,000 illegals each day.
“Obviously they only care about this issue when it impacts their cities and their communities,” the former acting DHS secretary said.
“Folks in Texas and Arizona and California and others along the border have been impacted for the past 16 to 17 months so what Governor Abbott's having to do is basically shame big city mayors like Mayor Adams and Mayor Bowser to actually care, to actually get involved in this fight and be part of the solution and to lean on the Biden administration to solve this issue at the end of the day,” he said.
“He shouldn't have to do this, but if this is what it's going to take to get others talking about this crisis and talking about solutions then they need to continue to do this,” Wolf said.
He pointed out that “both D.C. and New York City are sanctuary cities.”
“These are cities that have encouraged illegal immigrants to come to their communities,” Wolf said. “DHS has been flying these individuals into the state of New York, into states all over this country for months and months and months.
“It's only until they see them firsthand getting off buses that they seem to care, that they seem to raise any type of concern at the end of the day. It's bizarre, their view. This administration wants this crisis to go away,” the former acting DHS secretary said.
“When's the last time we heard from the president, the vice president or DHS secretary in a public setting, in a press conference to answer questions about the border, to actually outline their strategy at the border?” he asked.
“Just several days ago they formally ended Remain in Mexico or MPP. They have taken a vital tool away from the Border Patrol to help solve this crisis and they're offering no solution, no plan, and no strategy in return,” Wolf said.
The former acting DHS secretary said that a new Fox News poll shows that “the vast majority of Americans disagree with this broken and failed border strategy that the administration is undertaking.”
“They need to change course. They need to set new policies and new procedures in place. This can be solved, and it can be solved relatively quickly but it takes leadership. It takes hard decisions to actually do that at the end of the day and this administration continues not to do any of that,” he said.
“Again, they don't want to talk about this issue. They hope it goes away, and I don't believe it is because the vast majority of Americans see what's going on down there. They're throwing their hands up and they’re saying after 15, 16 months, aren't you capable enough, aren't you competent enough to actually put something in place that stops this and, again, Americans want a change,” Wolf said.
Abbott’s migrant busing policy has come as the Biden administration has hugely expanded its Catch and Release operation whereby thousands of border crossers and illegal aliens are released into the United States interior every day.
EAGLE PASS, Texas — Within the course of a few short hours, nearly 700 migrants waded across the Rio Grande hoping to surrender to authorities and gain release into the United States. Breitbart Texas posted at several major migrant crossings and observed several large and small migrant groups surrendering to Texas Army National Guard soldiers, Highway Patrol troopers, and Border Patrol agents in and around the small Texas border town of Eagle Pass on Sunday.
The first large migrant group crossed the Rio Grande near Normandy, Texas, 20 miles north of Eagle Pass. The group of nearly 300 migrants, mostly single adults, surrendered to Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Highway Patrol troopers and Border Patrol agents. Some members of the migrant group waited for nearly four hours to be transported to a nearby processing center. The delay in transporting the migrants from the immediate border area was the result of the sudden, overwhelming influx of migrants surrendering to law enforcement authorities in a short span of time.

Within five hours, almost 700 mostly Venezuelan, Cuban, and Nicaraguan migrants would ford the Rio Grande at multiple locations in and around the city of Eagle Pass. One group of more than 200 migrants were apprehended after they surrendered to Texas Army National Guard soldiers and Texas DPS troopers just south of the city. Texas DPS officials transported that group to an international port of entry to await transfer to the Border Patrol as part of Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s plan to return the migrants directly to Customs and Border Protection ports of entry.

As temperatures rose to above 100 degrees Fahrenheit, troopers stood guard over the migrants at the Camino Real Port of Entry until Border Patrol agents arrived to take custody of the migrants. Breitbart Texas observed the troopers as they awaited several hours for the arrival of the Border Patrol’s limited and overwhelmed transportation resources to arrive.

Smaller groups of migrants crossed the Rio Grande in and around the city of Eagle Pass in a steady flow as Breitbart Texas looked on. The smaller groups, numbering from three to more than a dozen waded the swift currents of the river to surrender to awaiting Texas Army National Guard soldiers.

Just south of the city, another large group moved inland from the Rio Grande walking along a marked path directing the migrants to the nearest roadway. The group of nearly 100 walked along a dusty road for nearly one mile before surrendering to Texas Army National Guard soldiers and Texas DPS Highway Patrol troopers.

Eagle Pass, part of the Del Rio Sector of the Border Patrol, is now the hotspot for migrant crossings and currently leads all other border sectors in migrant apprehensions. As reported by Breitbart Texas, nearly 50,000 migrants entered the United States in July within Del Rio Sector — now the nation’s busiest Border Patrol sector. According to a CBP source, the vast majority of those 50,000 migrants crossed the Rio Grande at or near Eagle Pass. This represents an average of more than, 1,600 migrants per day in this single border sector. Most of the migrants surrendering to authorities near Eagle Pass are from countries that are not amenable to an immediate return to Mexico under the CDC’s Title 42 COVID-19 emergency order. According to a source within CBP, not authorized to speak to the media, many of those arrested on Sunday will be released into the United States to pursue asylum claims.
