California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) on Friday challenged Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) to a debate after months of hurling attacks at Gov. DeSantis.
Newsom’s proposal for a debate is the latest move in a brewing feud between him and DeSantis.
After months of name-calling and running negative ads in Florida, Newsom asked the feds on Thursday to intervene and investigate DeSantis for “kidnapping” after DeSantis sent 50 illegal immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard, an elite vacation spot where former President Barack Obama owns a $15 million home.

“In particular, I urge US DOJ to investigate whether the alleged fraudulent inducement would support charges of kidnapping under relevant state laws, which could serve as a predicate offense for charges under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization (RICO) provisions of the Organized Crime Control Act of 1970,” Newsom wrote in a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland.
DeSantis commented Friday on Newsom’s letter to Garland, saying, “I think his hair gel is interfering with his brain function.”
“So the governor of California sent a letter to the Department of Justice saying, ‘You need to prosecute Texas and Florida governors.’ And all I can say is, I think his hair gel is interfering with his brain function,” DeSantis said .
Later on Friday, Newsom responded to DeSantis’s hair gel quip by proposing the two debate each other before the midterm elections in November.
“Hey @GovRonDeSantis, clearly you’re struggling, distracted, and busy playing politics with people’s lives,” Newsom tweeted . “Since you have only one overriding need — attention –let’s take this up & debate. I’ll bring my hair gel. You bring your hairspray. Name the time before Election Day.”
The California governor also tagged CNN’s Twitter account, possibly suggesting them as a moderator.
Newsom’s debate proposal seems to be inspired by Dan Rather, who tweeted about the idea of a debate between the two governors last month.
“Here’s an idea for Chris Licht, the new head of @CNN. Set up a debate — one-on-one — between @GavinNewsom and @RonDeSantisFL,” Rather tweeted . “Two governors of big states, potential presidential candidates. Prime time. Ratings I bet would be huge. Who would have the courage to show up?”

Although Newsom challenged DeSantis to a debate, he also recently agreed to debate his Republican challenger in California’s gubernatorial election, state Sen. Brian Dahle.
“Yeah, happy to do it and we’ll do it just as we did the last time I ran for office,” Newsom said when asked about the possibility of a debate with Dahle. “So, I look forward to it.”

Here’s life for ordinary people in the pro-crime utopia of San Francisco which doesn’t just have streets covered in human waste, it also has human waste walking the streets.

Proportionally, Black and mixed-race respondents felt a more severe impact than other groups, with a majority — 54% of Black respondents and 55% of mixed-race respondents — reporting they had suffered theft. Property crime rates were lower for white residents, 43% of whom had a possession swiped within the time period.”
Equity. There’s the disproportionate impact of pro-crime policies.
“Rates of physical and verbal assaults appear to be lower than property crimes, the poll indicated, with roughly a quarter of respondents — 24% — saying they had been threatened or attacked.”
24% is 1 in 4. That’s a horrifying number.
This is the result of Democrats adopting pro-crime policies. And it’s only going to get worse until they start enforcing the law again.

SAN FRANCISCO— Terry Asten Bennett’s family has been running Cliff’s Variety Store since 1936. In all that time, they’ve never experienced the amount of burglaries and property damage that they have recently, Ms. Bennett said.
Thieves smashed a display window and broke down a door to steal items as small as spray paint, and people shattered glass doors on two occasions for no apparent reason.
“These last two years have been insane,” she said. “It used to be a rare occurrence.”
Although violent crime in San Francisco is lower than in many other major U.S. cities, business owners, residents and visitors here are dealing with a rash of thefts, burglaries and car break-ins.
Among the 25 largest U.S. cities, San Francisco has had the highest property-crime rate in four of the most recent six years for which data is available, bucking the long-term national decline in such crimes that began in the 1990s. Property crimes declined in San Francisco during the first year of the pandemic, but rose 13% in 2021. Burglaries in the city are at their highest levels since the mid-1990s. There were 20,663 thefts from vehicles last year—almost 57 a day—a 39% increase from the prior year, although still below the record of 31,398 in 2017, according to the police.
Smashed storefronts are so common that the city launched a program to fix them with public money. Car owners leave notes declaring there is nothing of value in their vehicles, or leave their windows open to save themselves from broken glass. Videos of shoplifters hauling goods out of drugstores such as Walgreens have gone viral, and a smash-and-grab robbery by 20 to 40 people at a Louis Vuitton store last November made the national news.
Owners of small businesses say the costs of security and repairs are eating into profits already diminished by the Covid-19 pandemic. In the Castro, the neighborhood where Cliff’s is located, shops have recorded nearly 100 instances of smashed windows and doors that cost $170,000 to repair since the beginning of 2020, according to the neighborhood’s merchant association.
Criminologists say San Francisco’s high density of retail stores and its mix of tourists, commuters and wealthy residents have made it an inviting target for thieves. Locals point to a host of other factors that may be exacerbating the problem, including the tactics of the police and prosecutors, statewide changes intended to reduce the number of people behind bars, and the city’s dual crises of drug use and homelessness. There has been no end of finger-pointing.
Despite the city’s long history of progressive politics, some business owners and residents are demanding that political leaders shift to a more law-and-order approach.
San Francisco’s mix of retail stores, tourists, commuters and wealthy residents have made it an inviting target. The Union Square retail district, top, and the Chinatown neighborhood.
District Attorney Chesa Boudin, who took office in 2020 as part of the national “progressive prosecutor” movement and has de-emphasized the prosecution of low-level offenses, will face a recall election in June.
“Nothing is more important than to make sure that people who live in this city, people who work in the city, people who visit San Francisco, feel safe,” Democratic Mayor London Breed said at a news conference last month. “The fact is, that does require police officers.”
Some former police officials and business owners blame Mr. Boudin’s focus on keeping people who commit small-scale crimes out of prison. His office, for example, discourages filing charges in cases where suspects are pulled over for traffic infractions and officers find small amounts of drugs. Others point the finger at the police, who cleared just 6% of the city’s property crimes in 2020, more than 8 percentage points lower than the national average. A case is considered cleared if a suspect is arrested, charged and turned over to a court for prosecution, or is identified with sufficient evidence for a charge but can’t be taken into custody for circumstances beyond police control.
Some business owners say the city’s large population of people living on the streets and using drugs such as fentanyl is a big factor in the small-scale thefts. Law-enforcement officials, though, say they suspect organized crews of petty criminals are carrying out a large portion of them.
Police Chief Bill Scott has deployed more officers to tourist spots such as Fisherman’s Wharf to stop car break ins, and to retail shopping districts to stop thefts and burglaries. He has beefed up his retail theft investigations unit.
Businesses have been affected in every corner of San Francisco, even traditionally low-crime areas such as the Sunset District, where commercial and residential burglaries rose 80% in between 2019 and 2021.
Michael Hsu’s Footprint shoe store got broken into for the first time in February 2021. The thief used a blowtorch to crack the glass door without setting off the alarm and took tens of thousands of dollars worth of high-end North Face jackets. More people arrived soon after, taking whatever they could grab before they set off the alarm.
Mr. Hsu, who grew up in the Sunset, said he recalled thinking: “Oh, they finally got me.”

He turned to a grant program for small businesses to fix his shattered storefront.

Mr. Hsu was the first recipient in the new grant program for small businesses to fix their storefronts. Three weeks later, his store was hit again, this time by a thief who climbed up scaffolding, broke in through a second-story window and made off with several boxes of shoes.
He now equips his employees with pepper spray and a key fob that calls the police directly. He upgraded his security system and is putting money aside for other antitheft measures.
The grant program has distributed more than $500,000 to nearly 400 businesses to fix their storefronts.
Sharky Laguana, who is president of the city’s small business commission and runs the van-rental company Bandago, said thieves frequently smash his vehicles’ windows and steal his customers’ belongings. “It gives customers a bad experience, it costs them a lot of money and it costs us a lot of money,” he said.
Police and prosecutors say the majority of car break-ins are committed by organized crews. Mr. Laguana grew so frustrated he launched a reward program for information that leads to busts of big fencing operations that buy merchandise from such thieves. He thought he would be able to raise tens of thousands of dollars at best; he got $250,000 in pledges from rental-car companies and other businesses.
The day after the Louis Vuitton smash-and-grab robbery, San Francisco police deployed a mobile command center that still sits across the street from the luxury-goods store. The department sent more foot patrols to the Union Square retail district, pulling officers from all over the city, said Captain Julian Ng who oversees the area.
“It’s a resource drain, but if I had my way, we’d do this forever because it’s such an important area for the city,” said Capt. Ng.

Five people were arrested in connection with the Louis Vuitton incident. Captain Ng said there are many reasons for the city’s overall low rate of clearing property-crime cases, including the department’s no-chase policy for misdemeanors and nonviolent felonies, which aims to reduce unnecessary accidents. Car break-in crews can easily zip away in their own vehicles without police cars chasing them, he said.
Some former police officials said in interviews that officers don’t feel it is worth making an arrest in low-level cases because they assume the district attorney won’t file charges. They also point to a statewide ballot measure passed in 2014—Proposition 47—that raised the dollar amount at which theft can be prosecuted as a felony from $400 to $950.
Mr. Boudin, a former public defender, said his office hasn’t changed the way it prosecutes property crimes from the previous district attorney, George Gascon, who is now district attorney in Los Angeles and facing his own recall campaign. The office’s rate of filing charges against people arrested for burglaries and thefts dipped to 41% in Mr. Boudin’s first year in office, but increased to 58% in 2021, similar to the rate during Mr. Gascon’s tenure.
Mr. Boudin has pointed the finger back at the police, arguing that the certainty of arrest is low in San Francisco compared with other cities. More consistent arrests of criminals, he has said, would be a more powerful deterrent than the length of prison sentences.
Last November, officers were caught on a surveillance camera sitting in a squad car, watching as burglars made off with stolen product from a cannabis dispensary. The department is investigating the incident.
Lt. Scott Ryan, who heads a unit that investigates property crimes, said clearance rates aren’t a good measure because police often nab serial offenders who they believe to be responsible for far more burglaries or thefts than they can prove.
He said consequences aren’t severe enough for repeat offenders. Police investigators have a list of 48 people arrested five or more times for burglaries in recent years, he said, and more than half of them are no longer behind bars. “There’s got to be a line in the sand,” he said.
In February, Ms. Bennett, the owner of Cliff’s Variety, received an email alert that angered her. The burglar who broke into her store to steal spray paint and gloves was being released from jail, it said.
Charles Andrews, who was convicted in the burglary, was getting out of jail after 244 days. It was the second time that Mr. Andrews had been arrested for breaking into Cliff’s, the first coming in 2017.
The other burglar, who smashed a $4,500 display window to steal a $200 emergency kit, was never caught.

Sylvia Cediel, a public defender who represented Mr. Andrews, said his repeated arrests “reflect the circumstances of his life—primarily extreme poverty.” Mr. Andrews has been homeless since he came to the Bay Area more than a decade ago, she said, and his time in jail has been the only time he has spent off the streets. Ms Cediel said the city needs to do a better job addressing poverty and lack of housing.
Ms. Bennett said she believes the worsening drug problem within San Francisco’s homeless population has led to thefts and some of the property damage at Cliff’s. Last year, Mayor Breed declared a state of emergency because of overdoses in the city’s Tenderloin neighborhood.
In an effort to deter shoplifters, Ms. Bennett now stations employees at the door to greet customers. She installed a camera system and gave employees walkie-talkies so they could monitor shoplifters and confront them before they leave the store. Shoplifting losses have since dropped from 2% to 1% percent of annual sales, she said.
The increase in burglaries, which often involves breaking into closed shops, may be driven in part by emptier streets during the pandemic, police and criminologists say.
Ms. Bennett, whose great-great-grandfather Hilario DeBaca started the business, said the increase in crime hasn’t made her consider closing Cliff’s, which she said is woven into the neighborhood. But the break-ins are eating into the store’s bottom line.
New metal gates to protect the entrances plus repairs from the two burglaries and shattered door totaled about $22,000, less than half of which was covered by insurance, she said. She is applying to the city grant program to fix the most recently shattered door.
“When you’re a small-business owner, you spend more hours at work than at home, so you take it very personally when someone attacks you,” she said. “Whether it’s an attack on you or just your building, it really doesn’t matter. It feels the same.”

Why are Democrats suddenly talking about crime?
The answer is twofold:
First, this level of "lawlessness," as the speaker would say, is driving taxpayers away. My guess is that it keeps a lot of people from driving downtown for dinner on a Saturday. I was in a city in Maryland last summer and asked about Little Italy, a once-charming neighborhood for eating Italian food. My friend said it was still there, but many people were afraid of going down in this atmosphere.
Second, the violence must be hurting Democrats with African-Americans and Hispanics, or the people who live in those areas, which may be both. Check out Chicago and the weekend shootings. It's hard to blame Trump when everyone running the city is a liberal Democrat.
Memo to Democrats: Let the police do their job, and you will see how quickly the "lawlessness" will disappear.

President Joe Biden will campaign in Florida later this month as he continues criticizing Florida governor Ron DeSantis (R), who is running for reelection.
The White House confirmed that Biden will attend a rally for the Democrat National Committee in Orlando, Florida, on September 27.
DeSantis angered the White House when he transported migrants who had crossed the Southern border to Martha’s Vineyard, a paradise for Democrat elites.
“Republicans are playing politics with human beings, using them as props,” Biden said during a reception for Democrat Hispanics on Thursday. “What they’re doing is simply wrong. It’s un-American. It’s reckless.”
DeSantis responded that he was “perplexed” by reports that Biden’s cabinet was “scrambling” to address the recent actions by Republican governors to send migrants to Democrat-run cities.
“He didn’t scramble to get his cabinet together when we had millions of people illegally pouring across the Southern border,” he said , accusing the president of only paying attention to the issue when it affected wealthy Democrat elites.
The White House said Friday that the rally was “already on the books” before the most recent political clash between Biden and DeSantis, and part of his midterm campaign schedule.
“He’s going to have those conversations directly with the American people,” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters on Friday. “And as you know, Joe Biden likes to talk directly to the American people and have that conversation face to face.”
Biden has not been to Florida since he teamed up with DeSantis to respond to the tragic condo collapse in Surfside, Florida in 2021.
During that event, both leaders sat shoulder to shoulder to signal their support for the community and thanked each other for their efforts.

But Biden has singled out DeSantis for criticism on multiple occasions.
During the coronavirus pandemic, Biden frequently criticized DeSantis for blocking mask mandates in schools and vaccine mandates for businesses and employees.
Biden also criticized DeSantis for his response to Disney after the children’s entertainment company attacked him for signing a parental rights bill.
“It’s mean. It’s ugly,” Biden said in April, complaining that the “far right” had taken control of the Republican Party. “Look at what’s happening now in Florida. They’re going after Mickey Mouse. … Don’t say gay? I mean seriously, think about it.”

Holding the open-borders Democrats accountable.
The U.S. is currently in the midst of a serious border crisis since Joe Biden took over.
More than 1.7 million migrant encounters occurred in FY 2021, and more than 2 million in FY 2022. The actual number of individuals who managed to cross the border and are inside the U.S. has to be considerably higher.
So what usually occurs after these migrants are apprehended?
The Biden administration transports these migrants , including the underaged migrants, via night flights, from Texas to New York, late at night.
So what happens after they land?
The New York Post reported that the migrants are then bussed to various other states or cities such as New Jersey or Philadelphia. It isn’t beyond the realms of possibility that these migrants are dropped into swing states.
None of this is reported by the mainstream news media, obviously.
The migrants are resettled into working-class neighborhoods of these states.
Any locality has facilities and resources that are directly proportional to the number of residents, i.e., citizens, living there.
What happens when migrants inundate these localities?
They occupy parks, pavements, and other free spaces, and once again the citizens whose tax money funds the construction and maintenance of these places, suffers.
When the sanitation and waste management facilities are overwhelmed, it results in the surroundings becoming unhygienic, which will become a health hazard causing the spread of diseases.
If the migrants have highly contagious infections such as COVID-19, Monkeypox, tuberculosis, measles, leishmanosis, or any other infectious diseases, once again the citizen suffers, first in the risk of being infected, and second as health facilities meant for citizens are overwhelmed, causing them to have no option but to ignore citizens.

Beyond these issues, the impact of uncontrolled migration is cultural, which can hardly be gauged because the change is gradual.
The migrants may originate from cultures that have anachronistic values and practices from what is found in the U.S. Instead of adapting to their surroundings, quite a few expect everyone else to adapt to their values. Among other things, their refusal to conform results in ‘honor' killings, incestuous marriages, child marriages, foot baths, and 'press 1 for English.’
In addition to the violence and regressive practices, culture and values are the core identity of a nation and a locality that sees its erosion will soon be a lost community.
This uncontrolled influx is a long-term project of the Democrats – to inundate swing states with these migrants who, they think, will be Democrat voters. The hope is this new Democrat voter base will overwhelm the impact of existing Republican voters.
Soon elections are rendered meaningless.
The Democrats have successfully implemented this in states such as New York and California, where even a potted plant, or worse, the likes of AOC, with the letter ‘D’ after its name, is certain to win elections. In California, there are districts so packed with illegal aliens that voter turnout only amounts to about 10% of the number of people present to create the district. These are known as "dead" zones and Democrats know all about them. Large numbers of illegal immigrants also pad congressional seats for Democrats so that even if the illegals do not vote, their presence makes Democrat congressional seats possible that wouldn't otherwise be there. The contests in these states with these arrangements are not between left and right, but left, far left, and socialists.
This open border isn’t due to Biden’s misgovernance, this is an intentional and malicious act to ensure a permanence of power, both nationally, and in key states.
The Democratic leaders who support open borders never suffer the consequences of the policies they advocate.
They live in affluent localities. Their properties are surrounded by imposing walls. They also have armed bodyguards. The migrants will not be allowed even near these localities, except as maids and gardeners.
That changed in April, when Texas Gov. Greg Abbott led a unique practical experiment by transporting immigrants on a voluntary basis to "sanctuary" states run by open borders advocates. The goal was to make them accept the consequences of their words and actions.
These migrants were transported to cities such as New York, Chicago, and Washington. Some were even dropped outside the Washington D.C. home of Kamala Harris, Joe Biden's border czar who had just advised the country that the border was "secure."
The governor of Arizona also followed this move, as so did Florida's Gov. Ron DeSantis, who flew some 50 migrants in to tony Martha’s Vineyard.
As expected, the migrants haven’t been welcomed with open arms. The mayors of the cities have complained and attacked Republican governors while the wealthy liberals of Martha’s Vineyard haven’t actually opened their homes to the migrants they claim to love. Some authorities have called the National Guard.
In doing this, the governors have revealed the Democrats to be hypocrites and elitists.
But we already knew that.
So what happens next?
Doubtlessly, at least some of these migrants will be transported to detention centers away from the local mansions where they will then be re-released back to swing or Republican states.
If there has to be any long-term impact from this amusing exercise, all GOP governors much join in and keep dispatching migrants, to liberal states for as long as they can.
In time, the Democrats may block the busses at their city borders and prevent migrants from disembarking from planes.
It will be chaotic.
The only hope is that the chaos will cause local authorities compel the upper echelons of the Democrat party to fix the borders.
But the exercise in holding the open-border proponents accountable must not stop here.
When the GOP wins back the House and the Senate, they must author a bill that does the following:
Mandates the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to resume construction of a border barrier wall along the U.S.-Mexico border that President Trump began. Mandates DHS to deploy tactical infrastructure and technology across all borders beginning with the southern border. Mandates U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to increase the number of border security agents and officers. Now for the most crucial aspect of all this, the funding:
Yes, the taxpayers will be paying.
But the bill must have any or ideally both of the following clauses:
Mandate the transportation of migrants to liberal states whose governors, senators, representatives, and mayors advocate open borders. All lawmakers who do not vote for the bill, i.e., who advocate open borders, must be compelled to pay an additional tax to fund infrastructure in these liberal cities that will accommodate the newly arrived migrants. In addition to accommodation, these lawmakers must also contribute to funds for law enforcement, hospitals, and schools for migrants. This tax must not be restricted to lawmakers, but also to governors, mayors, and presidents who are proponents of open borders. This will be an ideal way for the Democrats to show they really care for the migrants.
The Democrats will have two choices, either vote for border security and pay nothing, or not vote for border security and fund the costs of migrants.
Let’s see how they vote.
Will a bill such as this ever be authored?
Very unlikely.
But one sincerely hopes some among the lawmakers at least try.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) is again under fire from members of his own party, this time President Joe Biden, over his hesitancy to sign a bill that would encourage California farmworkers to unionize.
California Assembly Bill 2183 would make it easier for farmworkers to unionize and allow them to vote by mail in union elections. Biden is just the latest Democrat politician putting pressure on Newsom to sign the bill.
Biden said he “strongly” supports the farmworker bill in a brief statement issued just before Labor Day.
“In the state with the largest population of farmworkers, the least we owe them is an easier path to make a free and fair choice to organize a union,” Biden said .
“Government should work to remove – not erect – barriers to workers organizing,” the president added.
However, Newsom vetoed a similar bill last year, and farmworker activists fear AB 2183 will suffer the same fate after Newsom sent the bill back to the California legislature less than two weeks ago.
Newsom’s office is on record saying they “cannot support an untested mail-in election process that lacks critical provisions to protect the integrity of the election, and is predicated on an assumption that government cannot effectively enforce laws.”
The California legislature sent a revised version of the bill to Newsom’s desk for his signature, but it is uncertain whether he will veto it.
Newsom is “privately seething” over Biden’s endorsement of the bill, multiple people with knowledge of Newsom’s thinking told Politico .

Biden’s endorsement of AB 2183 came after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) publicly urged Newsom to sign the bill.
“CA farmworkers provide for our families — but far too many can’t provide for theirs because they are exploited and don’t have a voice on the job,” Pelosi tweeted . “We can mend this injustice by expanding workers’ rights. I urge the governor to sign #AB2183 for the farmworkers and For The Children.”
Vice President Kamala Harris added pressure on Newsom, saying it is “long past due” for California to enact this legislation.
Of California’s 800,000 farmworkers, less than one percent are unionized, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Further, more than 70 percent of California’s farmworkers are undocumented immigrants.
Although large unions like the United Farm Workers want Newsom to sign the legislation, farmers and business groups, including the California Chamber of Commerce, are opposed to the bill.
“It essentially amounts to a forced union submission, because even the mail-in voting provision allows the labor organization representative to fill out the ballot,” Western Growers vice president of state government affairs Matthew Allen told Politico . “It’s really quite simple what the bill is doing. It’s eliminating a farmworker’s right to the secret-ballot election.”

On Tuesday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Labor Secretary Marty Walsh argued that “we’re going to have to have a real serious conversation in this country about immigration and immigration reform” in order to address the shortage of workers which is, in some cases, “a bigger threat to our economy than inflation is at this point, than a recession.”
Walsh stated, “Well, the first thing is we don’t have enough workers in the United States of America to fill all of the job openings that are out there. Right now, at this moment in time, more Americans are working in this country than in any other period in the history of America. So, when you think about the amount of jobs and people that are working, it’s a really incredible number. The problem is that we don’t have enough people. There [are] about five million people, I think, still, roughly…that are either looking for work or just not in the workforce, for a whole host of reasons, illnesses, child care, whatever it might be. So, at some point, we’re going to have to have a real serious conversation in this country about immigration and immigration reform. And when I talk to big business in America and I talk to businesses, every single one of them, to a person, says to me, we need to — we’re going to have to think about this long-term and how do we deal with these issue[s].”
He added, “I think, in this country, when you think about our economy, you think about our country, there [are] two sides in immigration. We don’t want immigration — or we’d like to see legal immigration. The problem is, in America, if we don’t have workers to fill these jobs, it’s going to hurt our economy overall. And if you have six million jobs, let’s just play with that number right now, let’s assume six million jobs that, if everyone went to work in America tomorrow that was eligible — or not even eligible, but they went to work, we have six million job openings. As you just said, it’s going to hurt business in our country, it’s going to hurt our economy, and in some cases, I think it’s a bigger threat to our economy than inflation is at this point, than a recession.”

California governor buys up out-of-state billboards to encourage baby murder
I mean, at this point, the verdict is pretty much decided: Gavin Newsom derives pleasure from inflicting pain upon others. We recently saw him in a television advertisement wearing a sweater indoors, while telling California citizens to boil alive during the historic heat wave, because why? Well, the “climate crisis” of course!
However, his latest stunt shows he doesn’t just dabble in political sadism, rather he is rapacious for this political proclivity.
Across seven other states — all governed by conservative leadership which promptly limited state-sponsored murder after the reversal of Roe v. Wade — Newsom launched an advertising campaign to promote abortion, sharing the good news that California taxpayers will foot the bill to shoulder the burdensome financial costs for women now required to travel out-of-state to procure a hired hitman (or, to be put more professionally, an abortionist). The polemical displays shared evocative images, with an accompanying taxpayer-funded website on where to find a paid California killer.
For the left, retaliation is the name of the game, even if that means a little bit of collateral damage (or actually, a lot of collateral damage). Hell hath no fury like a Democrat scorned, and wait until you get a load of these displays:
According to a news outlet operating out of San Francisco, Newsom was interviewed regarding the campaign, and said:
We want women to know that we have their backs. We care, they matter, and we’re not going to turn our backs on them because they’re from another state….
I’m doing this because I’m privileged to be able to do it[.]
First off, enough with the concerned humanitarian act. In light of Governor DeSantis’ prank at the Vineyard, Newsom retorted the stunt wasn’t “clever” but simply “cruel” before continuing with:
I’m formally requesting the DOJ begin an immediate investigation into these inhumane efforts to use kids as political pawns.
Inhumane efforts to use kids as political pawns ? How else would one describe his pathetic effort to promote his candidacy, by using state funds to sponsor a website, all to direct women on where they can go to kill their preborn children?
(Frankly, the political stunts should be left to DeSantis because he’s clearly much better at it, and much funnier than greasy Gavin.)
Secondly, Newsom recognized he possesses something uniquely described as privilege. Could that possibly be construed as a blessing or perhaps even an advantage ? In continuing that thought, would Newsom consider the gift of life a “privilege” (or blessing, or advantage, call it whatever you like), and if so, I’m curious: Mr. Newsom, if your bleeding heart really runs that deep, then shouldn’t all human beings be afforded the “privilege” of life?
Yet, this latest example of absurdity is simply par for the course when dealing with Democrats, and just builds up a smoking gun case we already have that Newsom is an absolute sadism-obsessed monster .

Biden’s Secretary of Defense sponsored a Rand paper which claims abortion is vital to national security. The paper, “How the Dobbs Decision Could Affect U.S. National Security”, warns that the inability to promptly kill children due to the Supreme Court’s decision will lead to “higher health care, child care, and education costs”.
If you don’t kill ’em, you’ll have to teach ’em.
While lefties loved attacking Rand, a think tank created by a defense contractor that is now a subsidiary of Boeing, only when lefties fully took it over did it become capable of this level of sociopathy. Civilized societies didn’t send women into front line combat except as an act of total desperation. The Biden administration has financed a survey arguing that not only should we send women into combat, but that we’ll have deployment issues if we don’t kill their babies.

The Rand survey argues that, “Women play an integral role in the U.S. military. A threat to their health and well-being is a potential threat to our national security.” A footnote however cautions that, “although we use the term woman or women throughout this piece, we recognize that these terms are not necessarily inclusive of all individuals who might seek abortion services.”
Even abortion feminism draws the line at recognizing the existence of women as anything except a political ploy. Think of all the men who need military abortions too.
Like Admiral Rachel Leland Levine who has been accused of killing more peo ple than every branch of the military combined. Unfortunately they were all American citizens trapped in nursing homes. But, as Rand might point out, he did dramatically cut health care costs.
No wonder they made him an admiral even if it’s of the Gilbert and Sullivan variety.
The Rand survey alarmingly warns that the Department of Defense might have to expand its child care program “to accommodate any additional births that occur as a result of women having children that they might not have had otherwise” which is a scary prospect since it already spends “over $1.2 billion annually on child care costs”.
Or about 0.2% of the F-35 fighter jet cost overruns. And the jets don’t fly themselves. Children will have to grow up to fly them. Treating children as a national security liability is backward. Without children, there’s no one in the military to defend the society or anyone to defend.
The military is struggling to find recruits. Birth rates are falling. The number of actual Americans continues to decline. The lack of abortion isn’t a national security threat: abortion is a national security threat which has killed more Americans than any foreign enemy. Arguing that babies are a threat to national security is a literal example of destroying the village to save the village.
The Rand survey frets over a projected “2,800 female DoD civilian employees with unintended pregnancies annually, and between 4,400 (HRBS) and 4,700 (WRHS) active-duty service women with an unintended pregnancy each year.”
Scary stuff.
If only there were some simple and easily accessible means of preventing unintended pregnancies that could be easily taught and distributed to functioning adults.
The military already offers free contraceptives. The Biden administration is rolling out more contraceptive clinics and pushing free IUDs. There’s even a ‘Decide and Be Ready’ app which provides information about available contraceptives for women in the military. Anyone who can be trusted to serve in the military can also figure out how the pill, condoms or chastity works.
Or maybe they’re not qualified or can be trusted to serve.
The Supreme Court’s decision finding that there had never been a constitutional right to abortion is not a threat to national security. The woke brass is the real threat to national security.
And according to them everything the Left doesn’t like is a national security threat. The only things that aren’t national security threats are actual national security threats.
Passing off abortion as a national security issue adds it to the portfolio of such urgent national security issues as diversity, global warming and transgender rights. When mobs of foreign migrants, some of them terrorists and cartel members, rushed the border, the military was not allowed to do anything because millions of foreigners invading the country wasn’t a national security issue. Leftist mobs attacking the White House wasn’t a national security issue either.
But abortion? Now there’s a real national security issue.
Ever since Obama took over the White House, the military has been used as a piggy bank and front for every leftist agenda item. We lost the war in Afghanistan, but the brass makes sure that every branch of the military has an equity office and is having conversations about systemic racism. The VA may be broken, but it’ll offer transgender surgery. The Air Force’s planes won’t fly, but its leadership is now black. Fat Leonard is on the loose, but Adm. Gilday will make sure everyone is reading Ibram X. Kendi. The Army can’t meet its recruitment numbers, but its ads feature lesbian weddings. At least there’s a plan to finally win a war.

Newsom Launches California Abortion Website, One-stop Shop for Ending Pregnancy Twitter 2:16
California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) launched a new abortion website Tuesday, abortion.ca.gov, that will serve as a one-stop shop for those seeking to end their pregnancies, whether they are residents of the state or not, and even if they are illegal aliens.
Newsom has sought to position his state as the alternative to Republican-governed states on social issues, especially in the wake of the Supreme Court decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization , which had no effect on California’s pro-choice laws but reversed the holding in Roe v. Wade (!973) that abortion is a constitutional right. To that end, Newsom has funded some abortion-related travel expenses, and backed a referendum, Proposition 1, to guarantee abortion up to birth.
In a video message, Newsom boasts that the state’s new website will help “those seeking reproductive care, whether you live here or not.” The website itself links to “www.abortionfinder.org,” a service that helps users find a nearby abortion provider.

Her more radical positions, such as support for the Obama administration’s Iran deal, prosecuting a journalist who exposed Planned Parenthood’s collection and sale of aborted babies’ body parts (while receiving campaign donations from them), and defending Ilhan Omar’s anti-Semitism, may indeed sit well with a great many leftists, but her actions as Attorney General of California may not. While in that position, Harris jailed hundreds on marijuana charges and authorized anti-prostitution sting operations which, according to SF Weekly , disproportionately targeted Latino men (a crucial Democrat demographic). In addition to this -- though she later admitted it was a mistake -- she prosecuted and jailed the parents of truant teens. She even refused to release the names of Catholic priests accused of sexually molesting children, abnegating law enforcement’s most basic and humane duty -- regardless of anyone’s opinion of the Catholic Church.

Vice President Kamala Harris said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that if Democrats win two more seats in the U.S. Senate, they will remove the filibuster rule to pass abortion and voting legislation.
Harris said, “In less than two months, we are looking at a midterm election in which so much is on the line. Take, for example, the issue of choice. The United States Supreme Court in the Dobbs decision just took away a constitutional right that had been recognized from the women of America from the people of America.”
She continued, “Well, how does that relate to the midterms? Our president has said he will not let the filibuster get in the way. If the Senate though a majority voter, votes to pass the Women’s Health Protection Act, he will sign it into law. You know what that means in the midterms? We need to hold on to the Senate and get two more then we can put into the law the protections of Roe v. Wade . Everything is on the line when you think about the millions of women and the people in America that care about them who understand the significance of women making the decisions about her own body.”
Anchor Chuck Todd asked, “If the Democrats get 52 Senate seats or more legislative filibuster gone? Or just on this issue?”
Harris said, “The president has been clear on this issue and on another very important issue which is voting rights.”

(CNSNews.com) – MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough on Friday accused pro-life Republicans of “using Jesus as a shield to make 10-year-old raped girls go through a living and breathing hell here on Earth” by opposing abortion.
Why am I talking about this? Isn't she pro-life? Yes, I'm pro-life. I'm also pro-life of the mother, the life she has with her children who are already born. I care about the children who are forced into adulthood, that was made up by a legislature full of men so they can take a victory lap and feel good about it.
Scarborough said that he comes from “a pro-life area.”
Most people I grew up with consider themselves pro-life. So many of them checked out on the radicalism, the radicalism in Michigan, where you have somebody running for governor saying a 14-year-old girl being raped is a perfect example of why she needs to carry the rapist's baby and have the state compel her to have a forced birth, why 10-year-old girls are fleeing the state of Michigan.
Yesterday, I saw a clip, I think "The Recount" posted it. South Carolina state senate, they're debating a proposal that would ban nearly all abortions in the state. They rejected that, but opposition came from every Democrat, female Republicans and some male Republicans. They kept it from overcoming a filibuster.

David Daleiden, founder of the Center for Medical Progress (CMP), said Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) prostituted her powers in her former role as California’s attorney general for the benefit of Planned Parenthood in an interview on SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Sunday with host Joel Pollak.
Daleiden noted the partisan and political dimensions of California’s prosecution of him and his CMP colleague Sandra Merritt. Both he and Merritt were charged with 14 cases of illegal recording of confidential conversations and one count of conspiracy.
“Kamala Harris is the biggest threat to First Amendment civil liberties and First Amendment civil rights that our country has ever seen, in my opinion,” said Daleiden. “While she was the attorney General of the State of California, Kamala Harris, at the behest of her political patron — Planned Parenthood — targeted me for criminal punishment solely because of the content of the message that I was publishing and speaking at the time as you mentioned the undercover video series showing top-level Planned Parenthood officials callously negotiating the harvesting and sale of tiny aborted baby hearts and lungs and livers and brains.”
Daleiden continued, “In the State of California, when Kamala Harris was the attorney general, you could do undercover investigations of factory farming, corrupt chiropractors, [and] fraudulent air conditioning repairmen. Local TV news journalists in California [were] filming and publishing undercover video with conversations — sometimes even in private office spaces — and publishing these videos in on a daily weekly basis. Not a single one of those journalists ever had their home raided or were prosecuted by Kamala Harris’s attorney general’s office.”

“But if you did the exact same kind of undercover filming and publishing, and your message was something that questioned Planned Parenthood or questioned the abortion industry — the sacred cows of Kamala Harris and the San Francisco political establishment in California — then in that case, I became the first and only person involved in news gathering, the first and only citizen journalist in the state of California to ever have the California video recording law enforced against me, criminally,” Daleiden added.
Daleiden went on, “It was launched under Kamala Harris. She targeted our message, specifically. She sent 11 California DOJ agents in April of 2016 to raid my one-bedroom apartment in Orange County with explicit instructions from Planned Parenthood to seize the means of publication, to seize the computers and the video equipment that I was using to publish the videos.”
“Kamala Harris’ deputy prosecutor, Johnette Jauron, who was in charge of the case, she admitted a few years later in 2018 in a filing in court that the reason that I alone have become the first citizen journalist in California to be prosecuted under the California video recording law — to have that law criminally enforced against me when it was enforced against against nobody else for news gathering in California — is because of the content of the videos themselves,” recalled Daleiden.
“It is blatant, unconstitutional viewpoint discrimination and invidious targeting of Americans whose message Kamala Harris disagrees with. So, she is a huge threat to our First Amendment civil liberties in this country.”
Pollak said, “It almost looks as if [Harris] initiated her prosecution of you at the instigation of Planned Parenthood to please Planned Parenthood, to help this politically-connected organization, which is so important for donations in the Democratic Party and for the future of anyone in Democratic politics. She basically acted at their behest. Is that true?”
Daleiden replied, “Yes, absolutely. Like I said, undercover video recording and reporting has never been criminally prosecuted in California in the history of the state until now, until this case, where the entity whose ox is being gored was Planned Parenthood, the political patrons of Kamala Harris and so many others in the California political establishment.”
He further noted how Harris coordinated her prosecution of him and his CMP colleague with Planned Parenthood.
“Just two weeks before she ordered the raid on my home, Kamala Harris had a secret in-person meeting in Los Angeles with several top-level Planned Parenthood of California officials,” stated Daleiden. “We have the action items from that meeting in an email that was produced to us in discovering the case, and those action items show that the meeting was primarily to discuss Planned Parenthood’s political agenda in the state of California, but included within their political agenda were the issues involved in Kamala Harris’s investigation of me.”
Daleiden concluded, “[Harris] was blatantly mixing her political constituent services functions with her law enforcement powers and basically prostituting her law enforcement powers to the service of her political campaign donors. She was running for United States Senate at that exact same time in March and April in 2016. She had petitions urging political support for Planned Parenthood on her campaign website.
He recalled that Harris’s executive office assistant while she was attorney general of California — who was ‘liaising with Planned Parenthood” while “working on this investigation” — later became Harris’s campaign manager during her first run for the U.S. Senate.
“It is a blatant use and abuse of law enforcement power solely to serve private partisan political interests, and that is why she is such a dangerous candidate,” concluded Daleiden.

The arrival of Joe Biden’s decision on a running mate is a true turning point in the history of American politics.
There has never before been a presidential candidate who, prior to entering the White House, has shown such undeniable signs of age-related neurological decay. All political disagreements disregarded, the sight of an elderly person succumbing to the demons of those dreaded cognitive ailments -- which all too often rob us of the older people we love -- is truly excruciating to behold.
The political outcome of Biden's mental state is, if possible, even more unsettling. The role of the president is meant to be powerful. All constitutional checks and balances considered, the sheer power of the chief executive, in that one single person invested with authority to counter-balance the power of the legislative and judicial branches, is truly awesome.
In our situation today, we see a man who is clearly not in full command of his mental faculties, who is allowing himself to be considered for that office of chief executive; an office which, unlike a prime minister in a parliamentary system, is intended to be stable and not prone to regular changes in leadership.
The expectation of a normal four-year presidential tenure on Biden’s part if he is elected must, at the very least, be subjected to serious doubt. If pronouncing basic words -- let alone quoting the most famous phrase of our Declaration of Independence -- is such a confusing ordeal for him, then it is our urgent duty to question whether this individual is fit to be the man who must accept the ultimate responsibility for this country’s national security and well-being.
These facts squarely cast the Democrat side of the current election as not a presidential election at all, but a vice-presidential election .
Should Biden win, the chances are very probable that his vice president will become the 47th president to finish out his first four-year term. As the vice president automatically succeeds to the Oval Office if the president dies or is rendered permanently incapacitated, the profoundly anti-democratic repercussions of this situation is worsened by whom Biden has actually chosen.
The traditional custom for presidential hopefuls is to either choose the second-highest-polling candidate in a primary race, as Ronald Reagan did with George H. W. Bush in 1980, or to choose a highly capable politician who is well-respected by most of the party, as Donald Trump did with Governor Mike Pence in 2016. In both of those cases, the aforementioned running mates reflected the Republican Party and its voters quite respectably while promoting unity.
It is highly questionable, meanwhile, whether Kamala Harris -- aside from all of the establishment media’s expected giddy cheerleading -- really represents her party all that well. She was polling at 2% nationally by the time she ended her own presidential bid on December 3, 2019. it is highly debatable if these are positions that a high number of progressives who voted for the Democrat primary runner-up, Bernie Sanders, would approve of. Especially today, being tough on minority and drug crime -- to the exclusion of “white patriarchal” clergy sex abuse -- is not en vogue among the Democratic Party’s truly energized base, which is largely college-educated millennials taught to have contempt for not only aggressive inner city policing, but inner city policing overall.
It also remains a question as to how many black American voters Kamala really represents. Without doubt, she completely failed to gain these voters' support during the primary. Many black Americans responded to Barack and Michelle Obama due to their image as people who empathized authentically with the black experience of living in inner city America. Harris’s flip-flopping on criminal justice issues has clearly deprived her of the Obama touch.
What should highly concern all Americans of whatever political persuasion is the fact that, given Joe Biden’s medical condition, a Democrat victory in 2020 could very likely result in a person for whom only 2% of Democrats and Democrat-leaning Independents supported to become president.
The reasons for Biden’s choice of Kamala Harris as his running mate are as yet not entirely clear. What is very clear, however, is that a new president of the United States in the near future could be a person whom a weak and faltering man chose by fiat, and not someone whom the majority of the country elected by the ballot. That's a problem.
It's a problem for America -- and it's a serious and profound problem for American democracy.
