JOE BIDEN'S NEVER ENDING SABOTAGE OF HOMELAND SECURITY - MS-13 Murder Suspect Released into U.S. as an Unaccompanied Alien Child

Washington, D.C. (January 23, 2023) –The Center for Immigration Studies broke the story this weekend  that a 17-year-old illegal alien and MS-13 gang member arrested in Maryland for the murder of an autistic woman was released into the United States as an Unaccompanied Alien Child (UAC). Congress and the media should be asking Biden administration officials running the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for a full accounting of how and why this UAC was released into the country and how many other dangerous individuals have been released under the Biden catch-and-release policies.

The UAC suspect allegedly strangled his victim to death, only months after being released into the United States. He is also facing rape and robbery charges.

Jon Feere, the Center’s Director of Investigations and a former ICE Chief of Staff, asks:
  • To what extent did the Biden administration’s decision to exempt UACs from Title 42 play a role in this individual entering the United States?
  • Was any background check conducted on the UAC, and if so, what did it reveal?
  • At what point did the Executive Branch learn that this individual was connected to MS-13, and was he released into the United States despite evidence of his affiliation?
  • Was the UAC handed off to a sponsor in the United States? If so, who is the sponsor, did the sponsor undergo a background check, and what did that background check reveal?
  • Is the sponsor in the United States illegally?
  • Shouldn’t Congress bar illegal aliens from sponsoring UACs?
  • Did the UAC apply for a Special Immigrant Juvenile green card?
  • Has he attended any court proceedings?
  • Has he failed to abide by the terms of ICE’s Alternatives to Detention (ATD) program?
The UAC sponsorship process is severely broken, as was revealed in a bipartisan Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs report in 2016, “Protecting Unaccompanied Alien Children from Trafficking and Other Abuses: The Role of the Office of Refugee Resettlement”.

“The Biden administration continues to threaten public safety with its lawless, open-border policies and Congress must immediately require DHS to secure the border and deport the millions of illegal aliens that have entered the United States through fraud and misrepresentation,” says Mr. Feere. “The media must also demand that the Biden administration stop with its anti-transparency agenda and start providing full immigration histories on demand.”

Exclusive – Rep. Russell Fry Previews Oversight Committee’s Southern Border Hearing: Biden Is ‘a Day Late and a Border Wall Short’

Rep. Russell Fry (R-SC) previewed an upcoming House Oversight Committee hearing on the border crisis while appearing on Sirius XM’s Breitbart News Saturday over the weekend and blasted President Joe Biden as “a day late and a border wall short” on the heels of his first trip to the border two years into his presidency.

Fry is the only freshman congressmember to serve on both the House Oversight and Judiciary Committees and is one of just three members of Congress serving on both. The representative for South Carolina’s seventh district — who unseated former Rep. Tom Rice (R-SC), one of ten House Republicans to vote to impeach former President Donald Trump — emphasized the importance of oversight from all committees but noted that the Judiciary and Oversight committees would be key vehicles in bringing about accountability.

“Look, every single committee is going to have oversight capabilities into this administration into what is going on, but these two, Oversight and Judiciary, are going to be kind of at the centerpiece of the oversight umbrella, if you will, of the new Republican majority,” Fry told Breitbart News Saturday host Matthew Boyle. “I mean, that is one of the tools of House Republicans in really exposing what is going on in the Biden administration, that they haven’t done oversight for two years. Nancy Pelosi didn’t do anything.”

The upcoming Oversight hearing on the border will take place February 6, and as Fry pointed out, the committee will hear testimony from “officials at the border about how the Border Patrol agents are managing the crisis” in addition to “the impacts of the crisis on … their mission” of securing the border.

“To me, look, I mean, the president, it took two years to get down there,” said Fry. “You know, he went down to the border … during the slowest time of the year in January … President Biden’s been a day late and a border wall short. I mean, we really have to get a handle on that. You look at the policies of the Trump administration on illegal immigrant crossings on the border wall; these things work. These things unite the American people, really, on how to deal with this issue, but Democrats have turned a blind eye, so… uncovering what is going on down there is really important so that we know how to fix it because this administration hasn’t done that.”

U.S. Customs and Border Protection reported more than 250,000 migrant encounters along the Southern border in December alone, setting a new record, as Breitbart News reported.

Boyle emphasized that “oversight is not just about ‘We’re going to go get these guys, and we’re going to go, you know, embarrass them and … drag them through the mud,’… it’s about highlighting these problems.”

“Again, highlighting the problems with the policies that we’re seeing at the border, digging into what went wrong at the beginning of the Biden administration, and then recommending solutions … that can then be implemented policy-wise,” Boyle added, emphasizing that Democrats and the mainstream media have claimed that Republicans are overstepping.

Fry concurred, noting, “The oversight capabilities of a Congress, any Congress, are really important to make sure that the administration, any administration, is doing their job and enforcing the laws and, and executing the laws that Congress passes … so this is, this is not new,” he said.

“And you know, it’s amazing to me, Democrats, how they flip the script because just a couple years ago they wanted to investigate everything, and it ultimately culminated in … a wrongful impeachment of a president without due process. … But now, it’s hands off, we can’t touch them,” Fry explained. “We can’t do anything … that would highlight the failures of this administration. But here’s the thing: I mean, they can continue to gaslight us with the national media, but the American people are smart, they know what’s going on. They see it, they feel it in their pocketbooks, so oversight is a really good way, like you said, to … bring light to issues that are happening in real time and provide solutions on how to deal with them.”

“So I think the border is chief among those, I mean, Republicans are committed in their commitment to America to secure that border, and part of that is going to be … a range of Oversight hearings that’s going to highlight the failures of this administration on dealing with the crisis at the border,” continued Fry. “Look, every single town in this country is seeing overdoses spike from fentanyl. I mean, we’re at an all-time high, you’re seeing border crossings at an all-time high, and people see it, they feel it in our communities, and it’s because of the failures of this administration to secure the border and enforce the laws. So oversight is going to provide not only a why, but a how to fix it.”

Boyle asked Fry if Americans can expect impeachments over the handling of the border crisis, including a potential impeachment of Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, in addition to other actions to ensure accountability.

“Absolutely. For me, I think all options should be on the table as they should be for any Congress,” said the representative for South Carolina’s Seventh Congressional District. “But I also think in the same vein, having run against somebody who voted for [the] impeachment of a president … I think you’ve kind of lay your case out. I think you’ve got to develop testimony, real testimony in these hearings, to talk about the failures … and to expose them for what they are.”

Exclusive: Only 14% of Voters Support Amnesty for Illegal Aliens

Only 14 percent of Americans support amnesty and citizenship for those who have entered the country illegally, and an even smaller portion of Hispanic voters feel the same way, a Convention of States Action/Trafalgar Group survey obtained first by Breitbart News found.

Three-quarters of U.S. voters believe that those who entered the country illegally should simply be expelled, and 59.5 percent said those who have entered the country illegally should be expelled and those in the asylum review process should have the review completed and determination made, whether that be asylum or removal. Just 14.3 percent believe that asylum and citizenship should be granted to those who entered the country unlawfully.

Perhaps more telling is the fact that less than three percent of Hispanic voters, 2.8 percent specifically, believe those who entered the country illegally or are in the asylum review process should be granted amnesty and citizenship, while 78.9 percent of Hispanic voters believe that those who entered the country illegally should be expelled.

According to the survey, “55.6 percent of Hispanic voters believe that those who entered the country illegally should be expelled and that those who are seeking asylum should have their reviews completed and granted asylum or be removed,” while 23.3 percent of Hispanic voters “believe that only those in asylum review should be granted amnesty and citizenship,” per summary of the survey.

Further, most, 63 percent, view securing the southern border as “essential to U.S. national security,” and a majority also believe state governors play a role, having a responsibility to step up and secure the border if the federal government fails to do so.

The House, under Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s (R-CA) leadership, will not consider any legislation that grants amnesty to illegal aliens, making that vow during an exclusive interview with Breitbart News.

“We know first and foremost one of our greatest strengths is the rule of law, so you have to have an immigration system based upon the rule of law. You have to secure the border. The immigration system is broken and we’re going to fix it. Yes,” McCarthy said when asked if he could pledge no amnesty during his leadership, emphasizing “yes” to that pledge afterward as well.

The survey comes on the heels of President Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reaffirming that it has “no records” on over 377,000 border crossers released into the U.S. interior via the ATD program.

(CNSNews.com) - For the past ten months, encounters of illegal aliens at the southwest border have exceeded 200,000, but the 251,487 known to have crossed in December breaks all previous monthly records.

The 251,487 undocumented migrants encountered at the border in December 2022 is up 7 percent from the 234,896 encountered in November 2022; up 40.29 percent from the 179,253 encountered in December 2021; and up a whopping 239.87 percent from the 73,994 undocumented migrants encountered in December 2020, the final month of Donald Trump's presidency.

So how do you spin those numbers? U.S. Customs and Border Protection found a way, announcing in a press release:

“The December update shows our new border enforcement measures are working. Even as overall encounters rose because of smugglers spreading misinformation around the court-ordered lifting of the Title 42 public health order, we continued to see a sharp decline in the number of Venezuelans unlawfully crossing our southwest border, down 82 percent from September 2022,” said CBP Acting Commissioner Troy Miller.

“Early data suggests the expanded measures for Cubans, Haitians, and Nicaraguans are having a similar impact, and we look forward to sharing the additional data in the next update."

On January 5, the Department of Homeland Security announced a "safe and lawful way" for Cubans, Haitians and Nicaraguans with U.S.-based supporters to come to this country, live here "temporarily," and apply for work permits. Those who don't follow the new rules will be turned back to Mexico -- if they are caught, that is. A similar policy was implemented earlier for Venezuelans.

Yet the caravans keep coming, as the chart below shows:

President Joe Biden, speaking to the nation's mayors in Washington on Friday, noted that immigration is a "major issue affecting many of your communities."

"I visited the border earlier this month, the first time as president," Biden said (although he didn’t see a single migrant while he was there).

"And I’m taking action where I have the legal capacity to do so. I’ll continue to call on Congress to act to pass comprehensive immigration reform to fix the system. (Applause.)

"The first bill I introduced was a comprehensive reform legislation on immigration. But because of some in the Congress, they refused to consider it. They found it a better issue to campaign on than an issue to solve.

"So, we have a choice: They can keep using immigration to try to score political points, or we can help solve the problem. Immigration reform used to be a bipartisan issue. And we can make it that again, in my view."

Biden's "day one" immigration bill would provide a pathway to citizenship for millions ofo undocumented people already in this country, while "ensuring that the United States remains a refuge for those fleeing persecution."

It calls for "smart border controls," and it would supplement existing border resources "with technology and infrastructure."

It also would provide billions of dollars to address the "root causes" of migration, namely, the corruption and instability in Central and South America. It also includes money to reduce immigration court backlogs, and it would eliminate the one-year deadline for filing asylum claims.

Republicans insist that border security comes before any so-called "reforms."

House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.) told "Sunday Morning Futures" that Republicans plan to advance bills that secure the border, and he said he hopes to get support for such bills in the Democrat-controlled Senate.

"I hope we get Senator Manchin and other Democrat senators who have blocked any attempt to secure the border, because we're going to be sending a package of bills to secure the border to get control of this problem," Scalise said.

"I mean, you talked about the people on the terrorist watch list, those are just the ones we've caught. How many have come across that we don't even know about?

"And we're seeing, by the way, not just countries from the southern border, we're seeing from countries all around the world, over 150 countries, coming across our southern border because Joe Biden opened it up. He could close it on his own, he won't.

“We're going to bring legislation to show the country how to fix this problem. Let's get the senate engaged so they can pass that bill to the president."

U.S. Customs and Border Protection says it has detained 38 people on the terrorist watchlist between ports of entry so far in Fiscal 2023, which started in October. A total 98 people on the terrorist watchlist were encountered and detained in Fiscal Year 2022. No one knows how many got away.

The Terrorist Screening Dataset (TSDS) – also known as the “watchlist” – is the U.S. government’s database that contains sensitive information on terrorist identities.

The TSDS originated as the consolidated terrorist watchlist to house information on known or suspected terrorists but has evolved over the last decade to include additional individuals who represent a potential threat to the United States, including known affiliates of watchlisted individuals.
