CHINA'S ASSAULT ON THE WORLD AND THE BIDEN CRIME FAMILY AND SEN DIANNE FEINSTEIN IS RIGHT THERE FOR THE DEMOCRATS' MAKE CHINA GREATER DOCTRINE

James Comer: Biden Family Received China Payout in Return for Joe Biden Favors

House Oversight Committee chair James Comer (R-KY) said Wednesday that he believes Biden family members received $1.3 million from a Chinese energy company in return for favors from President Joe Biden.

Speaking with Bloomberg, Comer said he has reason to believe the Biden family business profited from a company linked to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) because of favors from Joe Biden in his capacity as both president and vice president.

“We believe the reason the family was receiving this money is because of favors that Joe Biden did as vice president and or as president,” Comer said.

The committee revealed in March the Biden family received a collective $1.3 million cut in 2017 from a Biden family business associate, who was sent a $3 million wire transfer from a Chinese energy company linked to the CCP.

Hunter has confirmed the $1.3 million China payout, while Joe Biden falsely denied it. “That’s not true,” Joe Biden told reporters.

“There is a lot of explaining to have to do on behalf of the president,” Comer said in reference to his evidence.

“[There are] at least ten different transactions that will show the president’s immediate family was receiving funds from the Chinese Communist Party,” Comer added:

Comer’s suggestion that Joe Biden’s family made money for favors he performed in his official capacity is noteworthy because Joe Biden or his communications team has denied outright and deflected questions about involvement in the Biden family business. However, more than 17 instances show otherwise.

Recent polling shows Joe Biden is losing the communication battle with voters regarding if he has done something illegal or unethical in relation to his family’s business.

HOW'D THAT HAPPEN JOE?!?!?!

Anybody noticing how many diplomatic victories China is racking up these days?

Somebody at China's foreign ministry must be getting promotions.

It's been one diplomatic victory after another for the Chinese, While most of the attention is focused on China's growing military might and technological success, the diplomatic front is racking up successes, too.

David Goldman had an interesting tweet:

.

The article references Malaysia's fairly new prime minister, Anwar Ibrahim, reputedly a Western-friendly leader, calling for China to step up its One Belt, One Road development initiative, which is focused on high-value infrastructure investment in developing countries, in exhange for perfect payments on the loans. Miss those and the Chinese become the world's biggest repo men for these nations' ports, roads, railroads, dams  et al., taking control of "their" property as many third world countries have learned to their dismay. While the times are good, the Chinese investments are great, but don't look to them for mercy if one's country gets into monetary or fiscal trouble in a bad economy. At that point, they effectively take a nation's sovereignty as "compensation." I wrote about this herehereherehere, and here.

The bad press for this Chinese behavior ought to have sounded the death knell for the Belt and Road initiative, but that hasn't happened. Anwar is following the yellow brick road down in and calling for its expansion, almost as if he wanted China to take over more countries. That's disturbing indeed, given that it suggests a China alignment, not a U.S. alignment for Malaysia, a longtime reliable quiet ally.

It follows, as Goldman notes, the rather startling shift of Honduras from a democracy with close ties to Taiwan, to China. That's most likely based on the fairly new socialist government's search for a sugar daddy (like most of them in that region), drawing itself to Chinese One Belt, One Road investment, plus sticking it to gringo, the country that takes in their country's neediest as illegal migrants, paying for their health care, education, and other expenses, plus getting a lot of criminals off their hands. There also are the billions in migrant remittances. They're hopping onboard the China train and reorienting to China, despite having a coveted free trade pact with the U.S. Who needs to align with the U.S. when the U.S. is giving it away for free?

As for Brazil, they're playing a different long game with China -- focusing on their alliance with the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) and launching a new alternative currency system to replace the U.S. dollar as the benchmark unit of international trade. Bye, bye, Benjamins, it's all about trading in yuan now.

There's more, though, for China to notch on its lipstick case -- Iraq has created new ties with China over energy sales, and will in some transactions accept payment in Chinese yuan, not U.S. dollars.

In Afghanistan, Chinese ties in the wake of the disastrous U.S. pullout, couldn't be warmer.

There's also the Iran-Saudi Arabian peace deal, brokered by China, which makes China officially a peacemaker in the diplomatic community, the go-to nation for ending conflicts and giving each nation a piece of the spoils. That's a tremendous loss of influence for the U.S.

And worse still, there's the persistent coziness of China and Russia, which helps the former extend its war in Ukraine as Ukraine burns its army out and drains resources from the West. By coincidence, Ukraine's president, Volodymyr Zelensky, has said that he will be willing to look into a China-brokered peace deal, even against U.S. recommendation. Why would Zelensky be willing to annoy the U.S. with this move? Seems he recognizes a paper tiger.

And it doesn't stop. All of these victories on the diplomatic front are happening swiftly, like a blitzkreig, except through diplomacy, not war. Where's Joe Biden on that one?

That curiously coincides with China's increasing military strength and technological successes on the space and military hardware front, while the U.S. is indisputably in military decline -- in recruitment, in materiel, in supply, and in technology. Right now, China's technology bests that of the U.S. on some fronts, and analysts say that China could actually beat the U.S. in a head-on military conflict.

Suddenly nations from all corners of the earth are moving towards China, despite its human rights record, and its record on bad debtors. Everyone likes a winner. One would think that the U.S. would notice this string of diplomatic succeesses, but this is the Biden administration. The Chinese reportedly meddled in U.S. elections to get Biden seated at the presidential chair. Might that mean that Biden was their biggest victory of them all?

(CNSNews.com) -- The U.S. House voted overwhelmingly (413-2) on March 27 to pass legislation that would penalize persons involved in forced organ trafficking, a gruesome crime that occurs particularly in Communist China where between 60,000 and 100,000 young people are killed every year to steal their organs.

These "crimes against humanity" are committed with the full knowledge and sanction of the Communist regime, according to House Rep. Chris Smith (R-N.J.) and numerous human rights activists who have studied the topic.

"Every year under General Secretary Xi Jinping and his Chinese Communist Party, between 60,000 and 100,000 young victims, average age 28, are murdered in cold blood to steal their organs," said Rep. Smith, speaking Monday on the House floor.

"These crimes against humanity are unimaginably cruel," he said. "Ethnic groups targeted for this mass harvesting include Uyghurs who suffer from Xi Jinping’s ongoing genocide and the Falun Gong, whose exercise practices and exceptional good health make their organs highly desirable."

"The Chinese Communist Party has declared them to be an evil cult, fit for butchering," added Smith.

The bill that passed and is now in the Senate is HR 1154, the "Stop Forced Organ Harvesting Act of 2023." It was introduced by Rep. Smith, who is the co-chairman of the Congressional-Executive Commission on China. Smith is also the chairman of the House Subcommittee on Global Health, Global Human Rights & International Organizations.

Smith has been active against human rights abuses in Communist China and other nations since he entered Congress in 1980.

Under the Stop Forced Organ Harvesting Act of 2023, current foreign assistance law would be amended to "require reports on forced organ harvesting and trafficking in persons for purposes of the removal of organs in foreign countries, including and especially in China."

Any person who funds, sponsors, or facilitates "forced organ harvesting or trafficking in persons for purposes of the removal of organs," would face civil fines up to $250,000, and criminal fines up to $1 million, as well as potential imprisonment up to 20 years.

Further, the U.S. State Department could deny or revoke the passport of persons engaged in such crimes.

In addition to the "butchering" of Falun Gong members for their organs, " “We also know though open-source Chinese language media that elderly high ranking Chinese Communist Party officials have received replacement organs from the very people they despise and oppress at the People’s Liberation Army Hospital 301 in Beijing,” said Rep. Smith.

In his House floor remarks, Rep. Smith quoted Ethan Gutmann, a research fellow with the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation: “… At any given time since 2017 there are approximately one million Uyghurs, Kazaks, Kyrgykistan individuals and other individuals in the camps. These are concentration camps, of course, made up of mostly Muslims."

"And he [Gutmann] said his estimate is that 25,000 to 50,000 camp detainees are being harvested every year," added Smith.  "Again, he says, 28-year-olds in camps can be harvested for two or three organs each, translating into a maximum of about 150,000 organs [every year]."

“State-sponsored forced organ harvesting is big business for Xi and the Chinese Communist Party and shows absolutely no signs of abating,” said Smith. “We must act -- decisively.”

The legislation was received by the Senate and has been referred to the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations.

Since the Communists took over China in 1949-50, more than 65 million Chinese have been killed for political/ideological reasons, according to The Black Book of Communism (Harvard University Press).

State Department: Communist China Continued to Engage in Genocide in 2022

(CNSNews.com) - The People’s Republic of China continued in 2022 to engage in a campaign of genocide against the Uyghurs and “other ethnic and religious” minorities in the Xingjiang region, the U.S. State Department said in its newly released report on human rights in China.

“Genocide and crimes against humanity occurred during the year against predominantly Muslim Uyghurs and members of other ethnic and religious minority groups in Xinjiang,” said State Department’s the report.

“Since 2017,” said the report, “the government has conducted mass arbitrary detention of Uyghurs, ethnic Kazakhs, Kyrgyz, and members of other Muslim and ethnic minority groups in Xinjiang.”

Then-Secretary of State Mike Pompeo first declared on Jan. 19, 2021, that the People’s Republic of China was engaging in genocide in Xinjiang.

“After careful examination of the available facts, I have determined that since at least March 2017, the People’s Republic of China (PRC), under the direction and control of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), has committed crimes against humanity against the predominantly Muslim Uyghurs and other members of ethnic and religious minority groups in Xinjiang,” Pompeo said then.

“These crimes are ongoing and include: the arbitrary imprisonment or other severe deprivation of physical liberty of more than one million civilians, forced sterilization, torture of a large number of those arbitrarily detained, forced labor, and the imposition of draconian restrictions on freedom of religion or belief, freedom of expression, and freedom of movement,” he said.

“The Nuremberg Tribunals at the end of World War II prosecuted perpetrators for crimes against humanity, the same crimes being perpetrated in Xinjiang,” said Pompeo.

“In addition, after careful examination of the available facts, I have determined that the PRC, under the direction and control of the CCP, has committed genocide against the predominantly Muslim Uyghurs and other ethnic and religious minority groups in Xinjiang,” Pompeo said.

“I believe this genocide is ongoing, and that we are witnessing the systematic attempt to destroy Uyghurs by the Chinese party-state,” said Pompeo.

The same day that then-Secretary of State Pompeo made this declaration, Secretary of State-nominee Antony Blinken stated in his confirmation hearing in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee that he agreed with Pompeo’s assessment.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R.-S.C.) asked Blinken: “Secretary Pompeo designated the Chinese Communist Party as having engaged in genocide regarding the Uyghur Muslim population. You agree with that designation?”

Blinken responded: “That would be my judgment as well.”

“You do agree?” asked Graham.

“Yes,” said Blinken.

The Congressional Research Service noted the State Department’s assessment in a paper it published on Jan. 6, 2023 about China’s treatment of the Uyghurs.

“On January 19, 2021, the State Department announced that it had determined that the PRC had committed crimes against humanity and genocide in Xinjiang, and called on multilateral and juridical bodies to pursue accountability,” said the CRS report.

“The Biden Administration has concurred with this determination and has repeatedly referred to ‘ongoing’ genocide and crimes against humanity in Xinjiang,” said CRS.

“Ethnic and religious minority women, particularly Uyghurs, were often subjected to coercive population control measures,” said the State Department's human rights report on China that was published on March 20.

“Government targeting of ethnic and religious minorities in Xinjiang with intensified coercive population control measures resulted in plummeting birth rates since 2018,” said the report. “Most Xinjiang prefectures reported large increases in sterilizations and implantation of intrauterine devices (IUD), with Hotan Prejecture alone more than doubling its sterilization numbers for women from 2017 to 2018.

“There were widespread reports of coercive population control measures—including forced abortions, forced sterilizations, involuntary IUD insertions, and pregnancy checks—occurring at detention centers in the region and targeting minority groups, primarily Uyghurs and ethnic Kazaks,” said the report.

“Parents judged to have exceeded the government limit on the number of children risked being sent to detention centers unless they paid exorbitant fines,” it said.

The PRC also engaged in the mass incarceration of Uyghurs and other groups.

“The detention of an estimated one million or more Uyghurs, ethnic Kazakhs, Kyrgyz, and other Muslims in Xinjiang left many children without caregivers,” said the State Department report. “While many of these children had relatives willing to care for them, the government placed the children of detainees in orphanages, state-run boarding schools, or ‘child welfare guidance centers,’ where they were forcibly indoctrinated with CCP ideology and forced to learn Mandarin Chinese, reject their religious and cultural beliefs, and answer questions regarding their parents’ religious beliefs and practices.”

Tik Tok CEO Dodges Question on Communist China's Genocide of Uyghurs

(CNSNews.com) -- Up to two million Uyghurs -- men, women, children -- are in Chinese concentration camps today, and the U.S. State Department has declared that China is engaging in "genocide and crimes against humanity" in reference to the Uyghurs. The genocide has been condemned by many nations.

However, when Tik Tok CEO Shou Zi Chew, from Singapore, was asked by Congress last week whether he agreed that the "Chinese government has persecuted the Uyghur population," he did not say.

Tik Tok, a video hosting platform very popular with young people, is owned by ByteDance, a Communist Chinese company.

Chew was questioned at a March 23 hearing of the House Energy and Commerce Committee entitled, “How Congress Can Safeguard American Data Privacy and Protect Children from Online Harms.”

During the hearing, Rep. Debbie Lesko (R-Ariz.) asked, "Mr. Chew, do you agree that the Chinese government has persecuted the Uyghur population?"

He replied, "Congresswoman, you -- if you use our app, and you open it, you will find our users who gave all sorts of content [inaudible]."

Lesko interjected, "That's not -- that's not my question. My question is, do you agree that the Chinese government has persecuted the Uyghur population?"

Chew said, "Well, it's deeply concerning to hear about all accounts of human rights abuse. My role here is to explain what our platform does on this --."

Lesko tried again, "I think you're being pretty evasive. It's a pretty easy question. Do you agree that the Chinese government has persecuted the Uyghur population?"

Chew replied, "Congresswoman, I'm here to describe TikTok and what we do as a platform."

The exchange continued,

Lesko: "Right."

Chew: "And as a platform, we allow our users to freely express their views --."

Lesko: "All right."

(Getty Images)
(Getty Images)

Chew: "On this issue or any other issue that matters to them."

Lesko: "Earlier today -- well, you didn't answer the question. Earlier today, Chairman [Cathy McMorris] Rodgers [R-Wash.] asked you, and I quote, 'Have any moderation tools been used to remove content associated with the Uyghur genocide, yes or no?' Your answer, 'We do not remove that kind of content.' Yet, in 2019, TikTok suspended the account of Feroze Aziz, an American 17-year-old after she put out a video about the Uyghur genocide."

Lesko: "So, your answer, sir, does not align with history."

Chew: "That particular case was a missed moderation."

Lesko: "Right."

Chew:  "I believe that video had a picture of Osama bin Laden."

Lesko: "No."

Chew: "So, we thought it was content that was inappropriate."

Lesko: "No. Yeah, I looked it up. That was a different post that they banned."

Chew: "I can get back on the specifics, yes."

At that point, Lesko's time ran out and the questioning then turned to a Democrat member of the committee.

The camps where the Uyghurs are detained are in northwest China, a region called the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR).

In a 2021 report, the Newlines Institute for Strategy and Policy, on behalf of the Raoul Wallenberg Centre for Human Rights, concluded that “the People’s Republic of China bears State responsibility for committing genocide against the Uyghurs in breach of the 1948 Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (Genocide Convention) based on an extensive review of the available evidence….”

It further explained that under Article II of the Genocide Convention, China has the “intent to destroy” the Uyghurs. It then presented several facts to bolster its conclusion. These include the following:

-- In 2014, President Xi Jinping launched the “People’s War on Terror” in XUAR.  “High-level officials followed up with orders to ‘round up everyone who should be rounded up,’ ‘wipe them out completely … destroy them root and branch,’ and ‘break their lineage, break their roots, break their connections, and break their origins.’” Chinese officials likened the mass internment of Uyghurs to “eradicating tumors.”

-- “[F]orcibly sterilizing Uyghur women of childbearing age and interning Uyghur men of child-bearing years, preventing the regenerative capacity of the group and evincing an intent to biologically destroy the group as such. … Uyghur women are subjected to forced IUD insertions, abortions, and injections or medication halting their menstrual cycle.”

-- “[I]n 2017, China began building a vast network of massive State-run, highly securitized boarding schools and orphanages to confine Uyghur children, including infants, full time.”

-- "[S]ystematic torture and cruel treatment, including rape, sexual abuse, exploitation, and public humiliation, at the hands of camp officials and Han cadres assigned to Uyghur homes.”

-- “Internment camps contain designated ‘interrogation rooms,’ where Uyghur detainees are subjected to consistent and brutal torture methods, including beatings with metal prods, electric shocks, and whips…."

In 2019, the China Tribunal, an Independent Tribunal into Forced Organ Harvesting from Prisoners of Conscience in China, concluded that “forced organ harvesting has been committed for years throughout China on a significant scale and that Falun Gong practitioners have been one -- and probably the main -- source of organ supply. The concerted persecution and medical testing of the Uyghurs is more recent and it may be that evidence of forced organ harvesting of this group may emerge in due course.”

The tribunal also said that if the accusations against China are proved, “they will, inevitably, be compared to the worst atrocities committed in conflicts of the 20th century; but victim for victim and death for death, the gassing of the Jews by the Nazis, the massacre by the Khmer Rouge, or the butchery to death of the Rwanda Tutsis may not be worse than cutting out the hearts, other organs and the very souls of living, blameless, harmless, peaceable people.”

Since the Communists took over China in 1949-50, an estimated 65 million Chinese have been killed for political reasons, according to The Black Book of Communism (Harvard University Press).

Many American parents, educators, and members of Congress -- from both sides of the political aisle -- are very concerned about Tik Tok because the evidence available shows that the Chinese Communist Party can access Tik Tok user data. This apparently is a potential threat to national security.

Tik Tok users reportedly surpass one billion worldwide and more than 150 million in the United States.

In December 2022, the Tik Tok app was banned from U.S. government devices.

Last week, House Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas) said of Tik Tok, "I want to say this to all the teenagers ... who think we're just old and out of touch. You may not care that your data is being accessed now, but there will be one day when you do care about it."

According to the article, Falun Gong and its associated media, including the Epoch Times, have engaged in "conspiracy narratives" targeting Democrats and the Chinese Communist Party and of "links" between Joe Biden and the CCP.  In fact, a great deal of evidence is emerging in the Comer investigation to show that those links are far from being conspiracy narratives.  (See also a 2020 New York Times article, which labels Falun Gong "a leading purveyor of right-wing disinformation.")

The Group the Chinese Communists Fear the Most

I have rarely heard it mentioned in the mainstream media, but, according to reports, during the 1990s in communist China, thirty thousand members of Falun Gong were rounded up and executed.  The founder of Falun Gong, Li Hongzhi, fled China and now lives in the U.S., while in China members of the order went underground.  According to Freedom House, "Falun Gong practitioners across China have since [July 1999] been subjected to widespread surveillance, arbitrary detention, horrific torture, and extrajudicial killing — abuses which continue today."  Nonetheless, there are still some 100 million practitioners worldwide, and the movement continues to grow.

Information concerning the repression of Falun Gong is a Chinese state secret, with severe penalties for anyone attempting to obtain data.  As the Falun Data Infocenter puts it: "The CCP has also used political and financial influence around the world to either keep journalists silent, or drive false narratives about Falun Gong."  With total control inside China and compliance by foreign journalists, the Chinese Communist Party has driven a false narrative that minimizes the number of Falun Gong practitioners and hides data on the number of those abducted, tortured, killed, and killed for their organs, thus totally obscuring the record.  At the same time, Chinese and foreign media continue to suggest that the victim is the abuser: the false idea that Falun Gong is a cult with dangerous potential.

For anyone who has studied the history of or practiced Falun Gong, the enormity of this continuing abuse and misinformation is obvious.  Falun gong is a benign practice of meditation, exercise, and moral instruction with no political ties of any sort, but it is often represented, even by well-meaning Western journalists, as a "cult" or as a right-wing anti-CCP organization, as in a recent article in the Guardian, relying heavily on statements by Media Matters.

If those journalists would do their homework, beginning with studying Falun Gong websites and  the book Zhuan Falun by Li Hongzhi, instead of relying on the well funded Chinese "zero out" campaign, they would realize that Falun Gong is an uplifting instruction based on traditional, conservative Chinese practices.

The story of the Chinese government crackdown on Falun Gong is a classic example of totalitarian intolerance of competing ideas, and it involves both propaganda and physical terror.  A careful examination of the record proves that the response of the communist Chinese regime is not very different from that of ancient regimes toward their own enslaved peoples.  Despite their vast power, totalitarian leaders are fearful and at times even paranoid, as was Stalin, and the flip-side of fear is repression.

In reality, Falun Gong is a complex spiritual practice involving qijong-like exercises, positive thinking, and moral belief based on truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance.  As a practitioner myself, I know how Falun Gong can transform an individual from illness to health, confusion to knowledge, and intolerance to open-mindedness.  It is obvious to me how a totalitarian regime would view Falun Gong as a threat, as indeed it would be to any form of deceit, corruption, or intolerance.  As Falun Gong spread in China during the 1990s, at one point with 60 to 100 million followers in China alone, the practice became a threat to a government that had once encouraged it as a healthy "money-saving" vehicle and a social safety valve for a dissatisfied citizenry.  Yet within months, beginning in July 1999, perhaps 100,000 followers were arrested and 30,000 executed.  Even now, nearly 4,000 practitioners were arrested in 2021 (latest figures).

It is critical to consider the magnitude of this repression, with between two and four million Falun Gong followers "detained" in forced labor camps between 2000 and 2008 alone.  Chinese policy toward Falun Gong is similar to the more widely publicized repression of Uyghurs, 1.5 million of whom have reportedly been detained in China, with hundreds of thousands of others subjected to forced sterilization, forced abortion, and religious suppression, and with the razing or damaging of 16,000 mosques.  Like totalitarian regimes of the past, the CCP appears willing to employ the most ruthless tactics in order to secure its hold on the country.

Though Falun Gong is not a political movement, the exponential growth of Falun Gong during the 1990s might well have pressured authorities to change, and as soon as China's leaders recognized this threat, they suppressed Falun Gong with a heavy hand.  One could hardly be truthful, compassionate, and forbearing and lend one's support to a communist regime governed by a few thousand members of the political elite intent on benefiting from their rule at the expense of the general population.  Falun Gong teaches a form of gentleness and goodness that threatens the lies and violence of any totalitarian government.

One must ask: if the Chinese communists are willing to imprison millions of ethnic and religious minorities and to murder tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, what are they capable of in the future?  How many lives are they willing to expend in a takeover of Taiwan?  And once Taiwan is taken, how many Taiwanese will they imprison and execute?  In the event of a war with Japan or with the United States, how many are they willing to see die, on both sides?  And if Chinese communism were ever to achieve world domination, what kind of future could we expect?  As Christians, probably something not unlike what the Uyghurs and Falun Gong have already experienced.

At the same time, the specter of Chinese repression should open our eyes to the remarkable value of our own system of democratic capitalism.  The CCP has diminished Falun Gong in China, but, like all religious and spiritual practices, Falun Gong has found a safe home in America, at least in principle, though the Biden administration continues to restrict religious practice, to challenge religious rights in the courts and in agency practices, and to unleash the power of agencies like the Justice Department and IRS against the open practice of religion.  Many of the same tactics adopted in communist China are accepted by progressives in our own country, including the encouragement of birth control and abortion, even late-term abortion and infanticide after birth.

For the present, there is still a difference between totalitarianism and democracy as practiced in the USA.  Now is a time when American citizens, media, government, and corporations need to see clearly that communist China is a totalitarian government and to recognize what it is capable of.  China's record toward Falun Gong, a violent repression that continues today, is one element in a string of crackdowns and arrests.  We do not need to send a balloon over China to understand the nature of their regime, but we do need to recognize the enormity of its abuses and take appropriate actions to defend ourselves.

The problem with trying to understand Democrats

As a former member of the Democrat party, I still stay in touch with many of its members who are my close friends.  However, one thing that strikes me is that my friends are almost universally in denial of what the current administration has brought upon this once great nation in just two years of being in office.

The reality of a soaring crime rate in our nation's cities, runaway inflation that was once termed “transitory,” our disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan -- which served as the catalyst for Vladimir Putin to invade Ukraine, all seem to elude them, as if it never happened. When presented with any hard evidence or facts, they are not only in denial, but typically push back with emotion minus facts as if they live in an alternate universe where they can pick and choose the “facts” that fit their own party's narrative.

Recently, in an online exchange with a nationally syndicated Democrat columnist, I was treated to this: “The FBI in recent years identified not Antifa, or anything on the left, as the major domestic threat to the United States. Rather, the FBI has now repeatedly identified right-wing extremists (militias, etc.) as the biggest threat. Indeed, a bigger terrorist threat than anything from outside our borders.”

I responded with a factual query: “How many deaths in the U.S. are a result of right-wing extremists versus how many deaths in the U.S. have occurred in the U.S. due to fentanyl poisoning (~ 100,000) which can mainly be attributed to our current open borders policy which has only emboldened the Mexican cartels through profits gained from human trafficking and the flood of illegal drugs across the border?” Not surprisingly, there was not a response.

As I recall from my college psychology classes, the condition termed "cognitive dissonance" is defined as: “The distressing mental state caused by inconsistency between a person’s beliefs and an action.” An example of cognitive dissonance would be a health-conscious smoker, this person knows that smoking is bad for them, but they still smoke because they enjoy it. Likewise, I suspect many of my friends from the other side of the aisle are in fact good people, but they are unable to deal with the reality of what the Biden administration has done to our nation in just two years and as a defense mechanism, they pretend all is well. As we saw earlier this week in Moscow, in talks between Putin and China's prime minister, Xi Jinping, where there was once American hegemony, China and Russia now are beginning to dominate the world stage as we dither with climate change and other inconsequential woke issues.

I truly wish my all my Democrat friends well, but they appear unable to cope with what is taking place in America no matter how harsh the reality. Let’s hope they can shake the spell of the cognitive dissonance that now burdens them.

Pretending that all is well in spite of the obvious dysfunction that currently surrounds them was employed by Nero who reputedly fiddled while Rome burned, and we all know how that ended.
