Congressional Leaders Head to England to Find Ally in Fight Against China
'For the sake of both our nations and the sake of the free world, we must work hand in hand'

A bipartisan coalition of lawmakers will travel to the United Kingdom Thursday to promote a transatlantic alliance against Chinese "aggression and malign influence across the globe."
Led by House Select Committee on China chairman Mike Gallagher (R., Wis.), the 10-lawmaker delegation will hold high-level meetings with British officials and members of Parliament to increase Western pressure on China and beat back its growing global footprint, sources familiar with the trip told the Washington Free Beacon. Joining Gallagher will be Reps. Michael Waltz (R., Fla.), Haley Stevens (D., Mich.), Donald Norcross (D., N.J.), and Rob Wittman (R., Va.), among others.
"Chinese Communist Party aggression is global, and the United States and United Kingdom face common economic, military, and ideological threats posed by the CCP," Gallagher told the Free Beacon. "For the sake of both our nations and the sake of the free world, we must work hand in hand to stand up to CCP tech theft, United Front work, transnational repression, and flagrant violations of our sovereignty."
The diplomatic push comes as Congress grows increasingly worried that the Biden administration is not doing enough to confront China’s military threats and global spy networks. The Biden administration came under intense criticism earlier this year after it allowed a Chinese spy balloon to traverse the United States, collecting sensitive information on military sites. Beijing has also amplified its threats to invade Taiwan, an issue of particular concern to Gallagher’s committee, which recently ran a war simulation that determined the United States would be unable to push back a Chinese assault on the island.
The chief goal of the trip, Gallagher said, is to convince America’s closest ally that it is in Britain’s best interest to more forcefully "fight CCP aggression and malign influence."
The lawmakers will hold closed-door powwows with Britain’s deputy national security adviser, its defense minister, and eight members of Parliament. The group will also meet with Google employees working on the company’s DeepMind artificial intelligence project, highlighting the lawmakers’ interest in cutting edge technologies that could help the United States and its allies in a military confrontation with Beijing.
China’s cyberattacks and clandestine spy networks will also top the agenda, according to congressional sources familiar with the trip.
Britain has faced many of the same challenges as the United States when it comes to confronting Chinese aggression. A Chinese spy balloon may have also surveilled the United Kingdom this year, and British authorities have come under increasing pressure to address the threat of CCP spies.
The United Kingdom also relies heavily on Chinese technology, such as cameras and drones that are vulnerable to China’s surreptitious data collections efforts. Beijing also has established secret police stations in both nations, which the Communist regime uses to harass and detain dissidents outside of the country.
American authorities arrested two men in April for running a secret CCP police station in New York City. Gallagher and his delegation intend to raise this issue with their British colleagues, so that the two countries can work in tandem to crack down on China’s spy apparatus.
"The CCP thinks it can divide us, but there are too many of us, in the United Kingdom and elsewhere, that see them clearly," said a senior congressional aide familiar with the upcoming trip.
Ahead of the trip, Gallagher’s Select Committee on China will hold a hearing on China’s "economic aggression," which sources say will set the stage for the upcoming meetings in Britain. Lawmakers will bring with them a litany of recommendations on how the United States and United Kingdom can cut economic ties with Beijing and interrupt its march toward global supremacy.
"For the last 25 years both parties [in Congress] largely made the same naïve bet on China—that robust economic engagement would lead the Chinese Communist Party to political liberalization," Gallagher will say in remarks opening the hearing, according to an advance copy. "Now the era of wishful thinking is over. The CCP’s economic warfare uses any and all available leverage to coerce us—and it is time to defend ourselves."
When the winds of war are blowing as they are now, it is essential to recognize new developments and extraordinary activities by the enemy.
Since Joe Biden’s inauguration on January 20, 2021, most Americans have been dumbfounded by his open border policy and its administration by DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who has continued to gaslight us with the claim right up to the present that, “the southern border is secure.” In fact, the records show anything but a secure border. In just 28 months since Biden’s inauguration, over six million illegal aliens have entered the United States—including criminals, terrorists, and human, child, sex and lethal drug trafficking cartels—all of whom put enormous burden on American schools, health care facilities and law enforcement.
And now that Biden has allowed Title 42 to expire, with record numbers of immigrants having gathered at the southern border to enter the U.S., many now recognize that this chaos may be intentional Biden administration policy.
Some have observed the parallels with what is happening with the priorities of the Biden Administration with the Cloward-Piven neo-Marxist theory that was conceived and developed at Columbia by left-wing political activist sociology professors—the husband-and-wife team of Richard Cloward and Frances Fox Piven. That theory became an 8-step plan designed to overload the U.S. public welfare system to bring about a crisis. That plan, now updated with a mass replacement migration component, could be called Cloward-Piven 2.0, and it has even greater potential to bring the United States into collapse, chaos, and bankruptcy by expanding lawlessness in addition to exploding the rolls of poor immigrants who become dependent on a variety of social welfare programs—including food stamps, health care and more.
The strategy is quite simple—call it “fundamental transformation,” which is to radically increase the costs and national debt from an enlarged social welfare and law enforcement infrastructure driven by the surge of millions of poor new immigrants—many from various failed states. Since these immigrant arrivals include criminals such as cartel members involved in human, sex and drug trafficking and others carrying infectious diseases, there are obviously additional large law enforcement costs in addition to the increased health and welfare expenditures. Unchecked, the overall cost becomes so great that it can bring down the targeted host country—even a rich country like the United States.
But it gets worse.
There are new developments at the southern border that reflect the Biden national security team being not only weak, but also compromised and controlled like Joe Biden, who has received tens of millions of dollars through Biden family shell companies and a labyrinth of LLCs from various Chinese entities tied to the Communist Party of China (CCP).
U.S. border authorities have recently reported a 900% increase in Chinese males coming across the border in the last year, at a time when multiple threat indicators are rising, such as intense military overflights of Taiwanese airspace and war games around the island country.
The entry of Chinese in the mix of people seeking entry to the U.S. is a new red flag for it is very difficult for Chinese to get authorization to leave China. It’s almost certain that the CCP has allowed and arranged for select Chinese to travel to Central America and Mexico with plans and maps for them to make their way up to and get over the southern border. And the likely purpose is to establish a Chinese “Fifth Column” presence in the United States.
The CCP and its military have already been infiltrating Taiwan to act as “Fifth Column” units to undertake cyberattacks and place false information on social media and to undermine Taiwan’s state telecommunications infrastructure. Whether or not the PRC invades Taiwan, it appears that the CCP and PRC will continue to attempt to create chaos in Taiwan through a range of protracted operations that may include targeted military strikes and continuous unrestricted warfare operations. The goal is to wear down and demoralize the Taiwanese with an end game of compelling the Taiwanese government to accede to PRC demands, similar to what happened with the PRC takeover of Hong Kong.
So, the unprecedented surge of male Chinese immigrants at the southern border is another wakeup call that the CCP/PRC move on Taiwan may happen sooner than anticipated.

President Joe Biden said during his trip to Ireland that he is “proud” of his son Hunter and sister Valerie Biden Owens — both of whom are key players in the family influence peddling operation currently under multiple investigations.
“I’m here with my sister, Valerie, and my younger son, Hunter Biden,” Biden said. “Stand up, guys. I’m proud of you.”

Both Valerie and Hunter Biden are key associates in Biden’s international business schemes. While much has been reported on Hunter, Valerie is a lesser-known character. Yet both have worked in the family enterprise, as Breitbart News reported.
Valerie is chair of the Biden Institute at the University of Delaware. The institution received more than $6.7 million in anonymous donations from China, including direct funding from the Chinese government — all after Joe Biden set up a program under his name.
Email exchanges between Valerie, Hunter, and business associates show the Biden family planned to cash in on the family name at the university’s Biden Institute, Breitbart News reported in March. The emails also reveal the business partners discussing ways to carefully distance Joe from financial documents outlining the deal.
This is not the first time Joe Biden has brought family members abroad. In particular, Hunter took 411 trips across 29 countries between 2009 and the middle of 2014, according to Secret Service travel records obtained by Judicial Watch.
One of those trips was to Beijing, China, in 2013. Ten days after the visit to China, Hunter secured a ten percent interest in BHR Partners, a Chinese state-backed investment fund.
Hunter has divested his ten percent interest in the fund, his lawyer claimed in November 2021. The business license for Hunter’s company, founded in Washington, DC, which holds the ten percent stake in BHR Partners, Skaneateles LLC, was revoked upon dissolution in September 2021, many months after Joe Biden assumed office.
It is unclear who purchased the ten percent stake or where Hunter’s ten percent share was transferred. Chinese records show Skaneateles still owns ten percent in BHR Partners.
Vice President Kamala Harris said Friday that the situation at the border was "going rather smoothly," two days before a busload of migrants was dropped off in front of her Washington, D.C., residence.
"You know, I hear that everything in the last couple days is going rather smoothly, given what the concerns were," Harris said during remarks at a Democratic fundraiser in the Atlanta suburbs on Friday. "The bottom line, however, is that this issue of immigration falls squarely within the responsibility of the United States Congress."
Two days later, a busload of illegal migrants reportedly sent from Texas by Gov. Greg Abbott (R.) disembarked outside her D.C. home.
Buses of migrants have been dispatched to cities like D.C. and New York City as the border crisis continues. Since Title 42 expired on Thursday, thousands of migrants have crossed the border, and the Biden administration has been releasing them into the country.
Abbott began sending migrants to D.C. in 2022 and has often chosen the Naval Observatory grounds, which hosts the vice president's home, as the destination.
"There will be more coming," Abbott said Thursday in regard to the buses of migrants. "There will be more going to New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, and other places across the country."
Harris did not discuss immigration in her prepared remarks on Friday, only addressing the issue when asked about a statement by Georgia Republicans slamming her for attending the fundraiser instead of dealing with the border.
Harris's answer that the issue is Congress's problem is similar to a response given by Homeland Security secretary Alejandro Mayorkas last week.
"There’s a very important message, not to communicate only to Sen. Sinema but to all senators and all members of the House of Representatives: We need immigration reform," Mayorkas said. "The president passed to Congress a proposal to fix our broken immigration system on the first day in office."
The end of Title 42 brought a record number of migrants to the southern border, including an Afghan terrorist caught trying to sneak into California and a child who died in the custody of Health and Human Services—the second minor who has perished on the Biden administration's watch.
Sounds like a humanitarian tragedy, a policy disaster, a political nightmare. But not if you hear the Biden administration tell it! Speaking at a swanky fundraiser in Atlanta on Friday as this scene was playing out, Vice President Kamala Harris—President Joe Biden named her border czar, remember?—declared that things down south are "going rather smoothly."
We'd hate to hear what "bumpy" looks like. President Biden, meanwhile—he's on vacation in Rehoboth Beach—said that things at the border are going "much better than you all expected." Low bar.
Elections have consequences, and the situation on the southern border is a direct result of policies Biden and Harris put in place on their first day in office. Border wall construction came to a halt, and among other things the Biden administration put an end to the "Remain in Mexico" policy that required asylum seekers to wait in a third country until their claims were adjudicated.
Our colleague Joe Simonson was in the border city of Brownsville, Texas, last week, and he saw the situation firsthand. Some holding facilities reached more than 200 percent capacity over the weekend. Conditions in at least one of those facilities was so poor that a 17-year-old child from Honduras died, and the Biden administration has cut most of the migrants loose. It's the administration's only answer.
Even Democrats are starting to notice. New York City mayor Eric Adams—who once said that "New York City is, and has always been, a city of immigrants" and pledged that his government would "reflect that"—now says there is "no room" in his city for migrants.
Adams is converting public school gyms and shuttered prisons into shelters for aliens arriving by the hundreds. "No city should be going through this," Adams said.
No country should, either.
Kamala Harris Urges Illegal Migrants to Help Elect Joe Biden
Sen. Kamala Harris promised Sunday to reduce detention space for migrants as she asked an illegal immigrant activist to help Joe Biden win the election.
Our border czar (or is it czarina?) decided to say something about the border situation. It's been a while since VP Kamala Harris said anything, so she got our attention. This is what she said:
Kamala Harris has claimed the end of Title 42 is 'going rather smoothly' despite border governors dropping off migrants at her own home and thousands of migrants remain stuck in processing.
The Vice President spent her weekend in the wealthy Atlanta suburb of Buckhead at a fundraiser for the Democratic Party of Georgia, the third time she's visited the swing state this year.
The state's Republican Party called it 'deplorable' Harris was 'coming to Atlanta for a fundraiser campaigning while the border crisis is overflowing and we have out-of-control inflation' in a statement.
Responding to that criticism, Harris said everything she's heard from the border crisis is apparently fine.
'I hear that everything in the last couple of a days is going rather smoothly given what the concerns were,' Harris said.
She then doubled down on Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas' choice to blame Congress.
'The issue of immigration falls squarely within the responsibility of the United States Congress. We've done what we can but the Congress must pass legislation,' she added.
We got this: it's all Congress' fault anyway.
Honestly, I don't know why the big surge did not happen. My guess is that there are a couple of things in play.
First, Texas has placed lots of troops at strategic places and it's a lot more complicated to surge; and,
Second, the human smugglers are smart and they know that a surge is bad for their business. They are probably controlling the flow so that we don't have a human wave crashing the gates. In other words, the people are on the other side and will come.
In the meantime, some are getting court date notices for 2027. What are these people going to do in the next four years? I guess we will find out when they get off at the VP's residence.

“I’m undocumented … I can’t vote …What can we do during this election to help make sure that we get you elected?” asked Astrid Silva, who was brought into the United States as a child by her illegal migrant parents.
“You can tell people who can vote what life is like for you now, and what life can be like,” Vice President nominee Harris told the Nevada-based political organizer who runs the pro-amnesty Dream Big Nevada group, adding that:
We are committed to shutting down private detention centers and ending policies that have been about separating children from their parents at the border.
Harris’s comments may be a coded message to would-be illegal migrants and their supportive legal-immigrant relatives.
For example, if implemented, Harris’s promise to start “shutting down private detention centers” could cripple border enforcement. If the enforcement agency does not have commercial prisons to hold detainees prior to their asylum hearings, the agency would be forced to release waves of job-seeking migrants into the U.S. labor market.
Similarly, Harris’s promise to end “policies … about separating children” echoes the media-magnified demand by pro-migration activists that officials release migrant mothers and children when they cross the border. That demand would let migrant families freely travel to relatives — including their illegal migrant husbands and fathers — who are working illegally in the United States.
Last week in Nevada, I caught up with my friend @Astrid_NV, to discuss the Biden-Harris plan for immigration reform and how Dreamers can make a difference in this election.
Like Biden, Harris pushed the Cold War “Nation of Immigrants” claim, even though only about 10 percent of people in the United States are legal immigrants:
We want to have a president who understands we are a nation of immigrants. This is a country that was built and that has derived its strength from immigrants coming here over the generations.
Harris also tried to blur the legal and civic differences between illegal migrants, legal immigrants, and American citizens. For example, she told Silva:
Define who you are, and you tell the world who you are. Don’t let anybody ever put you in a box because they have a limited perspective on who can do what and who can be one.
[…]
We are all in this together. And so, chin up, shoulders back, right? We speak our truth and know that there will always be people applauding and supporting that even if you can’t see them at that one moment, know that there are so many of us who are supporting your leadership and the power of your voice. It’s really important.
Harris also claimed President Donald Trump vilified immigrants: “We’ve seen under the current president the kind of vitriol, the kind of hate, the vilification of immigrants in such a horrible way.”
But a Washington Post poll showed in April that Latinos are the strongest advocates for a near-total halt to legal immigration during the coronavirus epidemic and economic crash.
Biden’s 2020 plan promises to “reassert America’s commitment to asylum-seekers and refugees,” wipe out Trump’s asylum reforms, bar any deportations for 100 days, and end migration enforcement against illegal aliens unless they commit a felony.

Biden also wants to let companies import more visa workers, let mayors import temporary workers, and allow an unlimited flow of foreign graduates through U.S. universities into white-collar jobs. Biden would “exempt from any cap [the] recent graduates of Ph.D. programs in STEM fields.”
Biden also wants to accelerate the inflow of chain migration migrants and dramatically accelerate the inflow of poor refugees to at least 125,000 per year.
“The influx of low wage workers from all across the world will drive down incomes, drive down wages, deplete the middle class, bankrupt Social Security, bankrupt Medicare, bankrupt Medicaid, bankrupt federal entitlements, overcrowd schools, and overcrowd every hospital in the middle of a pandemic,” White House aide Stephen Miller told reporters on October 28.
“It is an assault on reason, it is an assault on law enforcement, and it’s an assault on the very idea of having a country, having a Republic,” Miller added. “This is not about left or right or Center. This is about between having a country, or not even having a country.”
