HOW MANY HOMELESS AMERICANS HAVE IT SO GOOD???

Exclusive: Venezuelan Migrant Living Good Life at New York City Taxpayers’ Expense

Danny, a Venezuelan migrant who recently arrived in the “Big Apple,” is beyond surprised with the accommodations and benefits provided to him. He crossed the Rio Grande in May near Brownsville, Texas, after a grueling trek through Panama, Central America, and Mexico.

Now, Danny told Breitbart Texas he has a clean hotel room, a New York City identification card, free health care and prescription benefits, and recently found a job at a cleaning company. All at the expense of New York City taxpayers.

The video shows the city-provided hotel room where Danny and another migrant currently live. He recently began working for a residential/commercial cleaning company and works four days weekly. Despite not having a work authorization card allowing him to legally work, or a New York driver’s license, his employer hired him and allows him to drive a company vehicle into New Jersey on workdays. The video shows Danny’s drive to work across the George Washington Bridge over the Hudson River.

Danny’s journey to New York began in early May when he was forced out of a migrant camp when members of the violent Gulf Cartel burned an encampment he was living in on the Mexican bank of the Rio Grande. Danny told Breitbart Texas of the incident in Brownsville and provided video footage of the camp. He arrived in Texas before the end of the Title 42 protocol.

Danny told Breitbart Texas he traveled from Brownsville to Dallas on a bus trip that cost him $80.00. From there, he and several Columbian migrants managed to scrape up the funds needed to fly into New York City. With no friends or relatives in the United States, Danny said he made his way to a local homeless shelter once he arrived.

The shelter life was chaotic, and for 15 days, Danny says he did his best to avoid any issues with other residents. On the 15th day, he was told he could move to a city-funded hotel in the Bronx. Danny has been at the hotel since mid-May, saying the accommodation is beyond anything he could have imagined.

Contrary to reports that describe drug use and violence in some of the New York City hotels used to house migrants, Danny says that is not the case where he is staying.

“We have more than 15 Army soldiers that help with security and hand out food to us when we get hungry, there is plenty of food available all day and our rooms are cleaned every morning,” he told Breitbart Texas. Danny says laundry service and cable television at the hotel are free as well. All of this is provided by the taxpayers of New York City.

Danny was released by the Border Patrol shortly after his crossing. He explained to Breitbart Texas that he doesn’t have a set date to report to ICE to begin his formal asylum process. His case paperwork only says “TBD” on the date, time, and place line on his Notice to Appear (NTA).

The Border Patrol resorted to using the “To Be Determined” language on the NTA to speed the releases from some migrant detention facilities. Setting precise dates, times, and places on the form requires timely coordination with ICE to receive the required docket information for the notice.

Danny says he has a common-law wife in Colombia that he plans to help cross into the United States using the CBP One application soon. “I can fly her from Bogota, Colombia to Monterrey, Mexico, for less than $300. Hopefully, she will be here soon and get the CBP One appointment fast,” he emphasized.

Danny says he must wait at least six months after he formally applies for asylum before he is able to legally work so his employer agreed to pay him in cash. He told Breitbart Texas many of the migrants that live in the hotel have found underground employment in restaurants, small businesses, and nearby homes where they clean and care for children. “Finding a job here was easier than I thought. They have great confidence in me where I work and even allow me to drive the work truck,” he told Breitbart Texas.

Danny proudly showed Breitbart Texas a copy of his newly issued city identification card and his health care cards issued by Molina Health of New York. The health plan provided by the city affords Danny medical, prescription, dental, and vision services. The plan requires no monthly premiums, no co-pays, and offers prescriptions to “Essential Plan” holders at a cost of $1 for generic medications and $3 for named brand drugs.

Danny provided photos of the food supplies available for the migrants at the hotel and one of the Army National Guard soldiers moving food into a refrigerator for use by the migrants.

Danny says most people in Venezuela earn less than the equivalent of $50.00 per month. He says he now earns double that amount in a single day. He says he is surprised and grateful for the support he has been provided and hopes one day to be able to move from the hotel when he is legally able to enter the workforce.

The cost to provide services to the migrants in New York City is staggering with one recent estimate of $4.2 billion through July 2024, according to a February New York Post report.  Adams has repeatedly asked the Biden Administration to reimburse the city for migrant care expenses hoping to pass some of the costs onto U.S. taxpayers.

In response to Adam’s pleas, $135 million from the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Shelter Services Program has been doled out to the city in recent months.

House GOP Report: Illegal Aliens Costing American Hospitals Billions in Unpaid Medical Bills

Illegal aliens released into the United States interior are costing American taxpayers, and the public hospitals they help fund, billions in unpaid medical bills every year, a report from Republicans on the House Homeland Security Committee details.

The report, wherein Chairman Mark Green (R-TN) notes the failures of President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, revealed the extent to which illegal immigration wreaks havoc on the nation’s hospitals intended to provide first-class care for Americans and legal immigrants.

“Hospital and emergency room care for illegal aliens is one of the most significant expenses,” the report states, mentioning that illegal aliens typically have no form of health insurance and therefore rely especially on emergency room services for free care.

“Consequently, this has led to significant costs for hospitals because providers are often not reimbursed for these services,” the report states:

In a January 2021 filing challenging the Biden administration’s deportation moratorium, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton wrote that his state alone was required to pay anywhere between $62- 90 million per year to cover illegal aliens under its Emergency Medicaid program. [Emphasis added]

He also pointed out that between 2006-2008, uncompensated costs borne by Texas state hospitals providing care to illegal aliens ranged from $597 million to $717 million. That’s as much as $1.03 billion in May 2023 dollars. [Emphasis added]

In Florida, for Fiscal Year 2021, illegal aliens cost state hospitals about $312 million. Meanwhile, in Illinois, a statewide healthcare benefits program for illegal aliens has ballooned from a projected $2 to $4 million cost to what has now become a $1.1 billion program for taxpayers.

Locally, in Yuma, Arizona, executives with the Yuma Regional Medical Center said that in just one year, taxpayers were left with $26 million in unpaid medical bills from illegal aliens who showed up to the hospital requesting free care.

“Some migrants come to us with minor ailments but many of them come in with significant disease. We have had migrant patients on dialysis, cardiac catheterization and in need of heart surgery,” Dr. Robert Trenschel, CEO of the hospital, previously told the House Homeland Security Committee. “Many are very sick. They have long-term complications of chronic disease that have not been cared for. Some end up in the ICU for 60 days or more.”

One of the main strains on the hospital is pregnant illegal aliens arriving with little-to-no prior prenatal care, putting them at high risk for potentially serious complications which results in longer, costly stays at the hospital.

The issue has been raised by more than just House Republicans.

Most recently, Democrat presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. visited the U.S.-Mexico border to warn of the massive waves of illegal immigration that are straining the nation’s security and social safety net resources.

During his visit, Kennedy said he talked to local officials in Arizona who explained that their hospitals’ maternity wards are so packed with pregnant illegal aliens that American women are having to reschedule their delivery dates.

“Moms occupied 32 of 36 beds in Yuma hospital maternity ward so that local moms had to delay induced pregnancies for two weeks,” Kennedy wrote in a Twitter post.

Months ago, the Federation for American Immigration Reform reported that illegal immigration costs the nation’s hospital systems at least $23 billion annually — $8.2 billion of which is uncompensated medical care for illegal aliens.

Biden’s DHS Rewards Sanctuary Cities, NGOs with $290M for Resettling Illegal Aliens in U.S.

President Joe Biden is rewarding sanctuary cities and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) with more than $290 million in taxpayer money for  resettling border crossers and illegal aliens across the United States.

Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is taking the millions in taxpayer money from the Shelter and Services Program (SSP) — a federal initiative launched by the administration and funded by Congress.

This week, DHS officials announced that more than $290 million from SSP had been rewarded to various towns and cities, many of which are sanctuary jurisdictions, along with NGOs like Catholic Charities and United Way for helping resettle hundreds of thousands of border crossers and illegal aliens across American communities after their release into the nation’s interior.

In total, 34 cities, towns, and NGOs are getting the millions in federal funds.

Many of the cities are sanctuary jurisdictions. For example, San Diego County, California, a sanctuary jurisdiction, is set to secure more than $15 million in SSP funds, while the sanctuary city of Denver, Colorado, will receive more than $8.6 million.

The sanctuary city of New York City is securing the largest amount of SSP funds, more than $104 million, to aid border crossers and illegal aliens, while the sanctuary city of Chicago has scored more than $10.5 million and the sanctuary state of Illinois will get nearly $19.4 million.

The World Hunger Ecumenical Arizona Task Force (WHEAT), an NGO based in Arizona, is set to get $15.5 million to help border crossers and illegal aliens across the state and Catholic Charities, across California and Texas, will rake in more than $24 million in SSP funds.

Last month, Reps. Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Lance Gooden (R-TX) requested a full accounting by the Biden administration in regard to federal funds being rewarded to cities and NGOs that are aiding illegal immigration in the U.S.

“The surge of illegal immigration, fueled in part by NGOs like those on the [Emergency Food and Shelter Program] National Board is unsustainable and unfair to law-abiding citizens and immigrants alike,” Gooden said.

Illegal immigration imposes an enormous burden on American taxpayers.

Annually, the 11 to 22 million illegal aliens living in the U.S. costs taxpayers more than $143 billion. That amount, though, does not include any of the social and economic costs — such as higher housing prices, depleted wages, lost jobs, increased crime, and strained public resources at hospitals and schools — associated with illegal immigration.

Report: Chicago Operating ‘Secretive’ Network of Taxpayer-Funded Migrant Shelters ‘Shrouded in Mystery’

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS - MAY 10: People walk by at the Inn of Chicago, a hotel near the Magnificent Mile in the city's downtown which is being used for temporary housing for newly-arriving migrants on May 10, 2023 in Chicago, Illinois. Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot issued a state of emergency on …

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson (D) is running a “secretive” network of taxpayer-funded migrant shelters that are “shrouded in mystery and quietness,” according to the Chicago Tribune and those familiar with the operation.

Since August of last year, more than 10,000 border crossers and illegal aliens have arrived in the sanctuary city of Chicago — many arriving on buses sent from Texas.

To deal with the waves of illegal immigration, rather than urging President Joe Biden’s administration to halt the influx, Johnson has said Chicago is open to migrants and vowed that the city will house, feed, and care for new arrivals.

Those promises have been realized by the city’s migrant shelter network, funded entirely by local, state, and federal taxpayers. A report from the Chicago Tribune, and those familiar with the operation, suggests that the shelter network operated by Johnson’s office is “secretive” and ensures that the public is not allowed inside shelters.

The Chicago Tribune reports:

The condition of the city’s 12 shelters cannot be assessed fully because the city has repeatedly denied a request from the Tribune and others for access to them. According to a letter in May from Chicago’s congressional delegation, the city has spent more than $75 million in the past nine months on over 10,000 new arrivals who have come to Chicago since August, and Chicago aldermen recently voted to spend an additional $51 million on migrant care through June. [Emphasis added]

Footage sent to the Tribune by migrants over WhatsApp confirms descriptions from those willing to speak about dirty bathrooms and hotel rooms crammed with as many as three to four families. Footage shows asylum-seekers at a shelter in Leone Beach Park in Rogers Park sleeping on the gymnasium floor. [Emphasis added]

Bawany described the city shelters as being “shrouded in mystery and quietness.” The lack of information extends not just to the public, but to the migrants themselves. No one seems to know what is going on, he said. [Emphasis added]

One particular shelter, with signs on doors keeping the public out, is the Inn of Chicago. Reporters at the Chicago Tribune said they were told they could not view the inside of the shelter.

Typically, before border crossers and illegal aliens are moved to the migrant shelters, they stay for days on end in police stations across the city — sleeping on the floor.

Most recently, Johnson cheered as the Chicago City Council ignored objections from local taxpayers over a plan to throw $51 million at the migrant shelter operation. Native Chicagoans, for months now, have said the city is singularly focused on aiding border crossers and illegal aliens as their communities remain underfunded and largely abandoned.

“We need to take care of our community, we need to take care of our black community,” one resident said during the city council meeting.

The Chicago Sun-Tines pointed out 248 people were killed in Chicago January 1, 2023, through June 10, 2023.

On May 9, 2023, the NRA noted that 2,767 people had been killed in Chicago on Lightfoot’s watch.

The most violent year of Lightfoot’s tenure was 2021, which was the deadliest year Chicago has witnessed in a quarter of a century. The Hill reported that Chicago police confirmed 797 homicides during the course of 2021.

The Chicago Tribune indicates at least 170 people have been killed in Chicago so far this year.

8. CRIME: Because of the Democrat rule in blue cities, crime is not being prosecuted in the name of some weird kind of reparations. What the Democrats don't get is that they hurt their own innocent population by allowing criminals a get-out-jail-free card, and by not prosecuting at all. Their racist policies hurt the very people they claim to want to help. Why are they doing this? To deliberately create chaos in the execution of anti-white racism. The one solution to the rising crime rate, the prosecution and incarceration of criminals, is the one thing blue cities under Democrat rule will not do. Mayor Lightfoot makes weird and demonic home videos of herself dancing around in what appears to be a drugged stupor. Rather than be a responsible mayor, she has totally ignored the death-by-violence rate in Chicago. This is another very clear example of Democrats doing what they do best; destroying things.

Joe Biden Celebrates 11 Years of DACA Program: Illegal Aliens ‘Are Americans’

President Joe Biden is celebrating the 11th anniversary of former President Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program that has allowed nearly 800,000 illegal aliens to evade arrest and deportation.

In a statement on Thursday, Biden commemorated the program by saying that the millions of illegal aliens enrolled and eligible for DACA “are Americans” despite their not having United States citizenship and flouting federal immigration law.

“Eleven years ago on this day, President Obama and I announced the DACA program to allow young people to live and work in the only country they’ve called home … DREAMers are Americans,” Biden said:

Many have spent the majority of their lives in the United States. They are our doctors, our teachers, and our small business owners. DREAMers strengthen our economy, enrich our workplaces, and during the COVID-19 pandemic, many served their communities on the frontlines. [Emphasis added]

As Breitbart News reported last year, standards for the DACA program were set so low by the Obama administration that from 2012 to 2018, about 53,792 illegal aliens were awarded DACA despite having prior arrest records. Meanwhile, nearly 8,000 illegal aliens awarded DACA were later arrested for crimes, the data shows.

More than 30 illegal aliens were given DACA status despite having previously been arrested for rape. Ten illegal aliens, likewise, were awarded DACA after having been arrested for murder, and 95 illegal aliens after having been arrested for kidnapping.

Biden noted that his administration is opening Affordable Care Act benefits, known as Obamacare and subsidized by American taxpayers, and Medicaid to DACA illegal aliens, even as Obama, in 2012, vowed that illegal aliens would not be eligible for Obamacare.

American taxpayers could be charged about $2.8 billion every year to provide Obamacare to every DACA illegal alien in the U.S. Biden said he hopes the move will push Congress to approve an amnesty for DACA illegal aliens.

“My administration is committed to providing DREAMers the opportunities and support they need to succeed,” Biden said. “… only Congress can provide permanent and lasting stability for these young people and their families. Congress must act to protect our DREAMers.”

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said in a statement that the agency, under his leadership, will continue advocating on behalf of DACA illegal aliens.

“The Department of Homeland Security will continue to advocate on behalf of DACA recipients every day, in the courts and through our actions, until Congress provides an enduring solution,” Mayorkas said.

In February, Sens. Dick Durbin (D-IL) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) introduced an amnesty plan to give green cards, and eventually naturalized American citizenship, to the nearly two million illegal aliens enrolled and eligible for DACA.

Somehow, Democrats can't seem to understand that the more they subsidize and throw money at something, the more unaffordable it becomes

In Illinois, we have some of the highest childcare costs in the country...and the Democrats brag about how much money they throw at it and pretend that solves the problem instead of contributing to the problem.

The higher they raise the subsidy for poor and middle-class people, the higher the daycare providers will raise the costs for people who pay their own way.  It is a simple economic concept.

Illinois child care costs are among the highest in the U.S.

Illinois parents pay among the highest child care costs in the nation, a new study from the Annie E. Casey Foundation has found. The average single mother spends more than a third of her paycheck on child care.

Gov. J.B. Pritzker has done "an exceptional job" of providing state grants to help support child care businesses, Connors said.

"With Smart Start Illinois, his new budget, he's put through quite a few different resources for child care providers to build capacity back in," she said.

A new $130 million grant program from Smart Start is designed to strengthen child care workers' compensation with an aim of stabilizing the field. However, Conners said the government can't solve the problem alone.

College costs are a great example of the harm that is caused when the government hands out too much money.

In the 1960s, the government started throwing lots of money at students in the form of grants and loans to supposedly make college more affordable.  Colleges used this largess to bulk up administrators, and their prices increased much faster than inflation.

As the colleges kept gouging, the government kept upping the money it threw at them.  I wonder what went wrong!

The solution today for Democrats is to have other people pay the debt, which would certainly not make colleges more affordable for current and future students.

The proper solution is to stop requiring degrees for so many jobs that don't need them and stop throwing so much money at students to attend.  Make the colleges compete.

Obamacare is also a great example of how to make things unaffordable.

To get Obamacare passed, we heard multiple obvious lies:

  • You were going to be able to keep your doctor and keep your current plan.
  • There was going to be more competition.
  • Prices were going to go down substantially.
  • It was going to pay for itself.

It doesn't take an economics degree to understand that a bill that has massive mandates, many taxes, and massive subsidies; takes away choices for what kind of policy you can buy; and forces you to buy it was going to raise prices.

And prices did not go down.  They skyrocketed — for years.

As rates skyrocketed, so did out-of-pocket amounts. Deductibles for popular silver-level plans, which cover about 70 percent of costs, increased 87 percent between 2014 and 2020, averaging more than $4,500, according to the Kaiser foundation.

When Trump and Republicans got rid of the individual mandate and gave the people back freedom of choice on the type of insurance they could buy, prices stabilized because competition returned.

But Biden is back with Obamacare Jr.

Biden launches a new push to limit health care costs hoping to show he can save money for families

He is again advocating that people not have a choice of what kind of insurance they can buy, and is again promising that his policy would reduce costs.

As always, the media are presenting this story without reminding the public of the massive number of lies relating to Obamacare.

As P.T. Barnum said, "There's is a sucker born every minute."

Here are some simple statements about energy and supply-side economics that even most journalists, entertainers, educators, scientists, and other Democrats should be able to understand:

If the government seeks to destroy or limit the amount of reasonably priced and reliable energy sources like coal, oil, and natural gas that people and businesses can use and force them to buy less reliable, less efficient, more expensive sources of energy like wind, solar, and flammable lithium, prices are likely to rise substantially and contribute greatly to higher inflation.

The poor, the middle class, and small businesses will be the ones who suffer the most.  It will be unaffordable for them to replace their gas-powered cars, trucks, and other equipment and to remodel their houses to comply with the new requirements.

Almost all Democrat policies seem to be about controlling what we buy and use, and they do it through cumbersome regulations and taxation.  They then claim they take care of the poor and middle class by giving handouts to pay for a portion of these new products.  Most of the media applaud Biden economics and claim not to understand why the public don't appreciate the great Biden policies as their real wages have continued to drop substantially since Biden took office.

Either most journalists are as clueless about economics and the harm Democrat policies cause, or they just don't care, and they believe their job is to elect Democrats to remake or destroy America, no matter how much they have to intentionally mislead the public.

White House: Increase in Black Unemployment ‘Statistically Insignificant’ But It Did Significantly Increase in May

During an interview on Bloomberg on Friday, White House Council of Economic Advisers Chair Jared Bernstein stated that the increase in the black unemployment rate “was statistically insignificant in June,” but the increase in black unemployment in May was statistically significant.

Co-host Romaine Bostic asked, “Well, what about some demographics? Our International Economics Correspondent Michael McKee pointed this out to me, that, when you look at unemployment rates in terms of demographics here, it went down for white men, it went down for white women, but it went up for blacks, it went up for Hispanics, and it went up for those who only have a high school education or less.”

Bernstein responded, “Well, if you look at some of those demographic categories — as you should, and I applaud Michael for doing that — you really do have to take account of the fact that these are some very noisy indicators. They jump around a lot from month to month. And in fact, the increase in black unemployment, BLS (Bureau of Labor Statistics) will tell you that was statistically insignificant in June, but that wasn’t the case in May, where it did grow. But that’s off a 4.7% trough, that’s, I think, among the lowest black unemployment rate[s] on record. So, the smart thing there to do is to take the average for the quarter, the black unemployment rate for Q2 is 5.4%. … That’s tied for the lowest quarterly rate on record.”

Carney on ‘Kudlow’: Bidenomics Is ‘Top Down’ Government Grift ‘Built on a Lie’

President Joe Biden’s economic policies are top-down big government crony capitalism predicated on the false notion that he inherited an “economic catastrophe,” Breitbart Economics Editor John Carney said in a Friday interview with Fox Business host Larry Kudlow.

Biden again touted his “Bidenomics” economic policies in a speech in South Carolina Thursday, arguing that his administration is building “an economy from the middle out and the bottom up, not trickling down.”

Carney, however, argued that Bidenomics is actually “built on a lie.”

“First of all, it’s built on a lie because the very beginning of Bidenomics is [Biden’s claim] ‘I inherited an economic catastrophe,’ which we know isn’t true. He didn’t inherit an economic catastrophe. He inherited an economy that was growing above six percent. He inherited an economic boom. So, everything since then has been a lie.”

“We got inflation because they lied that we were in an economic catastrophe, so they overspent,” he continued. “So, of course, right now you’re thinking, ‘Why can’t I make sense of this?’ It’s because it’s just lies.”

Carney then zeroed in on Biden’s “middle out and bottom up” claim.

“Nobody I’ve talked to can explain what ‘from the bottom up and the middle out’ means at all,” he said. “And that’s also not what they’re doing. When they are having government-directed money flowing into the economy—you know, all the subsidies for the Green New Deal stuff—that’s not from the bottom up. That’s the top down.”

“It’s a grift,” Kudlow added. “It’s money to donors, campaign donors. It’s money to big corporations who buy into their DEI and climate change stuff. It’s money to Democratic interest groups city by city, state by state. You are so right. It’s totally top down.”

“It’s not working either, because the American people are rejecting it all of the time. Whenever you see polls, they say they don’t trust Biden,” Carney noted.

An AP-NORC poll released this week found that 69 percent of Americans believe Biden’s economy is “poor,” and 64 percent disapprove of his management of the economy.

Carney also commented on Friday’s jobs report from the U.S. Labor Department, noting that despite the numbers coming in under expectations, the report “almost guarantees two more hikes” from the Federal Reserve.

He made this same point in Friday’s Breitbart Business Digest, explaining that the June jobs report and data showing a 4.4 percent year-over-year growth in average hourly wages “are likely enough to lock-in a rate hike at the end-of-the-month Federal Open Market Committee meeting and tilt the balance in favor of another rate hike in September.”

THE DEMOCRAT PARTY'S 'CHEAP' LABOR NAFTA DOCTRINE HAS DESTROYED MIDDLE AMERICA. BY THE TIME THE DEMS ARE FINALLY PUT OUT OF OFFICE, THE ENTIRE NATION WILL BE RUN BY THEIR BILLIONAIRE CLASS DONORS

In the most recent Rasmussen Reports survey, nearly 6-in-10 Americans said it is “better for businesses to raise the pay and try harder to recruit non-working Americans even if it causes prices to rise” when faced with labor shortages. A minority of only 26 percent said it is better for the government to provide such businesses with foreign workers to hire.

'Bidenomics in Action': June Jobs Growth Drops Below Expectations

July 7, 2023

U.S. employment growth in June fell short of expectations by tens of thousands of jobs, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Friday.

Payrolls increased by 209,000, according to the report. That figure is well below the consensus estimates of 240,000, a possible sign of economic cooling. The June numbers mark the lowest monthly job creation rate since December 2020. The unemployment rate showed little change, dropping to 3.6 percent from the May figure of 3.7 percent.

While President Joe Biden has touted "Bidenomics" as a main aspect of his reelection campaign, multiple recent polls have found that around two-thirds of Americans are dissatisfied with the economy under Biden, the Washington Free Beacon reported. Biden in a Friday statement declared that the June jobs report represents "Bidenomics in action," saying it shows that the economy is experiencing "stable and steady growth."

Average hourly earnings remained strong, growing by 4.4 percent from last year, the report found. The biggest employment gains came in government, which added over 60,000 jobs, mostly at state and local levels. Other sectors experiencing strong growth include the health care and construction industries.

In keeping with trends from the past few months, the leisure and hospitality sector experienced slow growth, adding just 21,000 jobs. The retail and transportation sectors, meanwhile, lost workers.

Illinois to Require Landlords Rent to Illegal Aliens as Housing Costs Surge

Illinois will soon require landlords to rent and sell property to illegal aliens, opening the housing market to tens of thousands considered deportable from the United States, even as rents remain sky-high in metropolitan areas like Chicago.

Late last month, Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D) signed SB 1817 into law, which will add “immigration status” as a protected class under the Illinois Human Rights Act.

The law ensures that landlords across Illinois will be banned from refusing to rent or sell property to illegal aliens strictly because they are illegally in the U.S.

“This law sets clear boundaries, protecting the rights of immigrants and ensuring that financial institutions and service providers cannot engage in discriminatory practices,” State Sen. Ann Gillespie (D) said in a statement. “Putting these protections in place will promote fairness to ensure people are not unjustly denied housing.”

The law comes as housing costs for Americans remain sky-high in Illinois.

For example, in Chicago, the median rent today is about $1,900 a month — a bill that is out of reach for most working and middle class Americans. Compare that to last year when the median rent in Chicago was $1,750 a month.

Decades of research have detailed the impact mass immigration has on housing costs for Americans. The results are so evident that establishment media outlets like the New York Times and New York Magazine have acknowledged the issue.

Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) has been a singular voice in the Republican Party raising the alarm on mass immigration’s detrimental impact on housing costs that prevents first-time home buyers and those looking to move from securing property.

“Think about what this does for housing prices when you have to house 10 million people that shouldn’t be here, that drives up the costs of housing when interest rates are already through the roof,” Vance told Breitbart News earlier this year.

“This is economic warfare and theft of the American dream from American citizens, that is the big problem here and that’s why we have to keep fighting it,” he continued.

In 2013, a study by the Michael Bloomberg-funded New American Economy, which promotes mass immigration, explained how the importing of tens of millions of immigrants over decades had helped raise housing costs by $3.7 trillion for the next generation of homebuyers but spun the figure as the creation of “housing wealth.”

Scott Baio on Moving to Florida: ‘I’ve Watched Southern California Devolve into a Third World Country’

Actor Scott Baio, the Charles in ChargeArrested Development star, said he moved from California to Florida because the Golden State had devolved into a “third-world country.”

Baio gave his explanation for the big move when speaking with Fox News host Jesse Watters on Tuesday.

“I’ve been there for 45 years, Jesse, and I’ve watched Southern California devolve into a third world country,” Baio said. “Between the homeless defecating on the sidewalk, doing drugs on the sidewalk in the middle of the day, illegal aliens all over the place, laws mean nothing, crime is out of control, graffiti on everything.”

“And all my tax dollars, I don’t know what they go for. I’m afraid to go to the mall, my wife and kid are afraid to go to the mall,” he added. “I’ve been in California a very, very long time and it’s so sad to me, I’ve got family and I’ve got friends there. I didn’t want to leave, but I’ve been pretty much forced out.”

Though Baio would list himself as a conservative, he did note that other less conservative celebrities like Katy Perry have also left California.

“You know what’s interesting to me? You know how many requests I’ve had for interviews because I tweeted I’m leaving California? Maybe 40. Nobody has ever asked, that I know of, any liberal actor that’s left California to come on and talk about why they left California,” Baio said. “Katy Perry left California to move to Kentucky or something. Me, because I want to get out of the hell hole that it’s become, I don’t get it. I must be a unicorn or something.”

Baio also scolded California for floating the possibility of slavery and racial reparations. As Breitbart News reported, the California Reparations Task Force also recommended that California review its past housing ordinances to rectify any discrimination.

Despite initially opposing reparations, California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) eventually caved and backed the proposal.

Second Bus Carrying Migrants from Texas Arrives in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A bus carrying migrants from a Texas border city arrived in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday for the second time in less than three weeks.

The office of Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass was not formally notified but became aware on Friday of the bus dispatched from Brownsville, Texas, to L.A. Union Station, Bass spokesperson Zach Seidl said in a statement.

“The City of Los Angeles believes in treating everyone with respect and dignity and will do so,” he said.

The bus arrived around 12:40 p.m., and the 41 asylum-seekers on board were welcomed by a collective of faith and immigrant rights groups. Eleven children were on the bus, according to a statement by the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights.

The asylum seekers came from Cuba, Belize, Colombia, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Nicaragua, and Venezuela. They received water, food, clothing, and initial legal immigration assistance at St. Anthony’s Croatian Parish Center and church.

Jorge-Mario Cabrera, a spokesperson for the coalition, said the group “was less stressed and less chaotic than the previous time.” He said most were picked up by family in the area and appeared to have had sandwiches and water, unlike the first time.

Los Angeles was not the final destination for six people who needed to fly to Las Vegas, Seattle, San Francisco, and Oakland, he said.

The city received a bus carrying 42 migrants from Texas on June 14. Many were from Latin American countries, including Honduras and Venezuela, and they were not provided with water or food.

Bass said at the time that the city would not be swayed by “petty politicians playing with human lives.”

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said he sent the bus to Los Angeles because California had declared itself a “sanctuary” for immigrants, extending protections to people living in the country illegally.

It was unclear if Abbott sent the latest bus. A phone message to his office was not immediately returned.

Earlier in June, the state of Florida picked up three dozen migrants in Texas and sent them by private jet to California’s capital, catching shelters and aid workers in Sacramento by surprise.

Poll: 7 in 10 Voters Say U.S. in State of ‘Cultural and Economic Decline’

Seven in ten Americans believe the U.S. is in a state of “cultural and economic decline,” the latest Convention of States Action/Trafalgar Group survey found.

The survey asked respondents if they believe the U.S. is in a state of “cultural and economic decline” and found that most, 72.5 percent, believe it is. Another 21.6 believe it is not, and 5.9 percent remain unsure.

Interestingly, there is bipartisan consensus, as most — 91.7 percent of Republicans, 71.5 percent of independents, and 50.7 percent of Democrats — believe the U.S. is in a state of cultural and economic decline.

When asked who is best equipped to reverse this state of decline, most across the board, 80.6 percent, said “everyday Americans” as opposed to 19.4 percent who said “elected officials.”

Once again, there is bipartisan consensus as 72.1 percent of Democrats, 80.7 percent of Republicans, and 87.5 percent of independents agree that “everyday Americans” are best equipped to halt and reverse the decline.

The survey was taken June 5-9, among 1,088 general election voters and has a +/- 2.9 percent margin of error.

The poll was released toward the end of what society has deemed “pride month,” which put the general state of cultural decay on full display, with woke companies pushing leftist agenda items to the forefront of their businesses.

Target, for example, came under fire after pushing the transgender agenda, offering transgender swimsuits for adults. One such swimsuit was advertised as “tuck-friendly” for males who wish to “tuck away” their genitals to appear more feminine. Target also advertised a swimsuit as having a “light binding” effect for females who wish to flatten their breasts to appear more masculine.

Perhaps what is more, the popular retailer also offered an array of pride-themed items for children and babies, including apparel advertised as “Thoughtfully Fit on Multiple Body Types and Gender Expressions.”

Meanwhile, economic decline has been on the forefront of Americans’ minds since President Biden took office, as the country has experienced high inflation and record-high gas prices during that time.

Most, 52 percent, disapprove of Biden’s handling of the economy, the latest survey from The Economist/YouGov found.

Business Lobby Ask Biden for More Foreign Workers Rather than Enticing Americans Back into Workforce

While Americans have struggled to remain in the workforce, the powerful business lobby is urging President Joe Biden to increase the share of foreign visa workers whom they can hire to what would be the highest level on record.

Nearly 130 special interest business groups — including many Chamber of Commerce chapters, construction companies, farms, landscaping businesses, restaurants, and retail stores — wrote to Biden asking him to expand the inflow of foreign visa workers to fill millions of American jobs.

“We respectfully request that you expand a special category of immigration permits for individuals who can fill positions where labor shortages exist, for people migrating to the United States, and long-term immigrant contributors like DREAMers, farm workers, and essential workers,” the business groups write.

Already, the U.S. imports more than a million legal immigrants on green cards annually in addition to more than a million foreign visa workers who arrive specifically to take American jobs. Likewise, under Biden, tens of thousands are securing work permits after crossing the southern border.

In particular, the business groups pointed to a plan touted by Republican Govs. Eric Holcomb of Indiana and Spencer Cox of Utah that gives states the ability to import foreign visa workers whenever business interests in such states decided that there are labor shortages that cannot be filled with Americans.

“One plan advanced by Republican governors, Eric Holcomb of Indiana and Spencer Cox of Utah, would allow states to ‘sponsor’ immigrant workers,” the business groups wrote:

With that authority, states could decide how many visas are needed each year for specific jobs. U.S Senators Bob Menendez (D-NJ) and Dick Durbin (D-IL) support the idea, as does New York Governor Kathy Hochul. [Emphasis added]

With congressional action on permanent immigration reform gridlocked, we look to your administration to expand the use of visas under current regulations and give states the authority to act on their workforce needs, so that migrants are treated humanely and businesses can rev up the engines that drive state and national economies. [Emphasis added]

The latest push by special interest business groups to open a constant flow of foreign visa workers to hire comes as Biden has ballooned the nation’s labor market through mass immigration while remaining largely unconcerned with the issue of Americans dropping out of the workforce.

For instance, last year, foreign-born workers saw their share of the U.S. labor market hit the highest level in almost 30 years at more than 18 percent, with close to 30 million now holding American jobs.

At the same time, the number of native-born Americans in the workforce has declined by 0.5 percent. Likewise, unemployment for foreign-born workers was lower last year, at 3.4 percent, than the unemployment rate for native-born Americans, at 3.7 percent.

The boon of foreign visa workers in the U.S. labor market, the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) recently detailed, means lower wages for working class native-born Americans in addition to more foreign workforce competition.

“Between the fourth quarters of 2016 and 2019, real (inflation-adjusted) weekly earnings for full-time, U.S.-born workers without a bachelor’s grew 3.2 percent,” CIS researchers write. “During this time, growth in the total immigrant population (legal and illegal) averaged about 400,000 a year, compared to about 730,000 a year from 2012 to 2016, when earnings actually fell slightly for the less-educated U.S.-born.”

Americans, by a majority, say businesses should work harder to recruit those on the labor market sidelines rather than the federal government importing foreign workers for them.
