Barack and Michelle Obama apparently don't think Joe Biden has what it takes to win reelection. Rather than projecting confidence in Biden's political talents, they are sounding the alarm.
"I am terrified about what could possibly happen," Michelle Obama said of the upcoming presidential election during a recent interview with podcaster Jay Shetty. The former first lady went on to argue that if Biden loses to Donald Trump, the "childish" and "vulgar" former president, the American people would be to blame for failing to appreciate the extreme benevolence of the federal government.
"The fact that people think that government, ehh, you know, does it really even do anything? And I'm like, 'Oh my God, does government do everything for us,'" Obama said. "And we cannot take this democracy for granted. And sometimes I worry that we do."
Michelle's dour remarks come amid reports that her husband Barack is also panicking about the 2024 election. The former president has grown increasingly agitated, according to the Wall Street Journal, because he "knows this is going to be a close race" and "feels that Democrats very well could lose."
In recent months, Barack Obama has had "animated" discussions with Biden and senior campaign officials about the election, the Washington Post reported over the weekend. Obama reportedly advised the Biden campaign to model itself on his own reelection campaign in 2012 and urged the president to hire or at least "seek counsel" from former Obama campaign aides.
"Someone wants to light a fire under the asses of some of these [Biden] people," a top Democratic strategist told the editors of Axios, who suggested the news of Obama's skepticism may have leaked to the Post because Biden aides are terrified of giving him bad news. Biden is widely feared within the White House due to his "quick-trigger temper," a common symptom exhibited by individuals suffering from dementia or Alzheimer's disease.
For what it's worth, the Obamas have never been particularly optimistic about Biden's ability to win a national election. In 2019, for example, Barack Obama tried to talk his former vice president out of running because he worried Biden would "embarrass himself on the campaign trail" and thought Beto O'Rourke had a better chance of winning. (He didn't.)
"You don't have to do this, Joe, you really don't," Obama reportedly told Biden. He warned fellow Democrats not to "underestimate Joe's ability to f— things up." The multimillionaire Obamas didn't even donate to Biden's 2020 campaign. Four years earlier, Obama successfully "pressured" Biden to "get out of the way" so that Hillary Clinton could coast to the nomination, all but ensuring that Trump would win.
When he's not complaining about Biden's campaign, Obama is apparently still working on the second volume of his White House memoir. (He left office in 2017.)

Trouble in Paradise: Black Women Threaten to Boycott Biden
Campaign officials get 'earful' from core constituency, urged to offer XXXL clothing sizes to 'appeal to a diverse range of supporters'
What happened: Joe Biden's reelection campaign recently held a series of meetings with "influential Black women from around the country," during which the core Democratic constituency gave the president's team an "earful" and threatened to withhold their support for Biden absent "serious changes" to address their concerns.
What they said: "Black women who put [Biden] over the top in 2020 won’t turn out for him in 2024" unless his reelection campaign takes "immediate steps to engage Black women who feel disillusioned by the president's first term," Jasmine Wright of NOTUS reported on Monday.
• Members of the pivotal coalition demanded that Biden's team hire more "senior-level Black women" and deploy a more diverse array of campaign surrogates with "lived experience."
• "If they want Black women to really be on board, we need to see someone that mirrors us on that national level," Rev. Krista Alston, who co-organized a virtual meeting with Biden campaign staff, told NOTUS. "You've got to have representation."
• The group also suggested the Biden campaign spice up its "dull" merchandise offerings and offer clothing sizes larger than XXL in order to "appeal to a diverse range of supporters."
Why it matters: Biden is in trouble. The president's approval rating among black voters has dropped nearly 20 points since the start of 2023, according to an NBC News poll published in late November.
• Notably absent from the NOTUS report was any suggestion that black female leaders want Biden to step down after one term in order to elevate Vice President Kamala Harris, a mixed-race woman, to the top of the Democratic ticket.
Crucial context: Harris, one of the most widely despised vice presidents in American history, recently hired an anti-Biden gunslinger as her campaign communications director. Meanwhile, her stepdaughter Ella Emhoff has fomented anti-Semitism, and her husband Doug Emhoff has been ridiculed for inaccurate Hanukkah posts.
• One of America's most prominent black women, Michelle Obama, said she is "terrified" about the 2024 election, presumably because she doesn't think Biden has what it takes to win. The Obamas have consistently disparaged Biden's political talent.
• One of former president Donald Trump's most enthusiastic supporters, Rochelle "Silk" Richardson of the commentary duo Diamond and Silk, is a black woman. Her sister, Lynette "Diamond" Hardaway, passed away one year ago today. Rest in peace.

Biden was 25 in 1967, and was attending Syracuse University College of Law, from which he graduated 76th in a class of 85 in 1968. By 1967, when he supposedly talking to the Egyptian government on behalf of Golda Meir, he had already embarked upon his career of lying. A Syracuse College of Law faculty report on December 1, 1965 stated that Biden “used five pages from a published law review article without quotation or attribution,” and recommended that he fail a legal methods course because of his plagiarism.
Donald Trump Recounts How Ted Kennedy Once Told Him Joe Biden Was the ‘Dumbest’ Senator
PALM BEACH, Florida — Former President Donald Trump told Breitbart News exclusively that years ago when he was a U.S. senator that now-President Joe Biden was regarded by then-Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-MA) and his colleagues as the “dumbest” person in the U.S. Senate.
Trump was explaining how Biden is a “very vicious guy” surrounded by “vicious people,” but also noted that Biden is “not smart at all.”
“I ran against him. I got far more votes than I did the first time. I feel I know him very well,” Trump told Breitbart News in an exclusive more-than-two-hour-long interview at Mar-a-Lago just before the new year. “A lot of times in dealmaking you know a person better if you’re doing deals than if you’re with that person all the time. He’s surrounded by vicious people, radical left people, and people that are ultimately going to destroy him. They give no quarter. They’re willing to do anything like weaponize the Justice Department and the FBI and all of those things can come back to hurt Joe and them and everybody else ultimately. There’s a level of viciousness that you don’t see. Joe Biden is a very vicious guy. He’s not a smart guy—not smart at all. All you have to do is look at his academic credentials. But he’s a very vicious guy.”
Trump then said that Biden, while “vicious” in reality, has been able to fool Americans into believing “this image of ‘nice,’” something that Trump says a story from the late Kennedy undercuts.
“He’s got this image of ‘nice,’ when Ted Kennedy—who I knew very well, he’s a Palm Beach guy, rich family, had a house on the ocean a mile down the road,” Trump said. “I was very friendly with him for various reasons. I said to Ted Kennedy, ‘who’s the smartest guy in the Senate?’ He gave me a name I won’t tell you because I cannot stand the guy but it was really true he’s a smart guy. Then I said ‘who’s the dumbest?’ He said ‘probably Joe.’ I said ‘who’s Joe?’ He said ‘Joe Biden.’ I said ‘why is he the dumbest?’ He said ‘it’s because he doesn’t understand concepts, he doesn’t understand policy, and he doesn’t understand anything that is complicated like taxes and various other things.’ But, he said, ‘he’s hale and hearty and well-meant.’ It’s true, sort of, with the smile—you could see a friendliness there, but it’s not friendliness. Ted Kennedy said he’s the dumbest guy in the Senate and now he’s our president.”
Kennedy died at the very beginning of former President Barack Obama’s first term–Biden was Obama’s Vice President–but he served for decades in the upper chamber of Congress with Biden. Kennedy was a senator from Massachusetts from November 1962 through his death in August 2009. Biden was a senator from Delaware from January 1973 until he became vice president in January 2009.
Trump is correct that the Kennedy family had an estate on Palm Beach for many years, one that John F. Kennedy used to call the “Winter White House” when he worked from there as president of the United States during holidays. The Kennedy family sold the property later, during Trump’s presidency. Trump, who often worked from here at Mar-a-Lago during the winter months of his presidency, would call his resort the “Winter White House” or “Southern White House” as well–just like JFK, Ted Kennedy’s brother.
Later in the interview, Trump accused Biden of having “Trump Derangement Syndrome,” a term that has come to describe those obsessed in an unhealthy way with Trump.
“I think he’s got Trump Derangement Syndrome. I think he’s got the biggest case of it,” Trump told Breitbart News of Biden.
Trump also noted that he thinks hard leftists are using the desperate steps of weaponizing government against him and absurdly claiming Trump winning would be a move towards authoritarianism because they are clinging to power. Trump said he does not think they care about the country, and in fact he believes they actually secretly hate America.
“I think they just want to stay in power,” Trump said. “I don’t think they care about the country. In many ways, they hate the country. Who could love the country when you’re letting 15 million people in? By the end of his term, I think they will have let 15 million people in. Who could love the country? I think, inwardly, they hate the country. They might not even be able to express that.”
Asked to define who he means by “they,” Trump said he means the people who are steering Biden—who, again, he believes is stupid—for their radical agenda.
“A group of radical left maniacs that are running the country for Biden—using him—I believe he’s a shell,” Trump said when asked to define “they,” adding too that Biden is simply a “vehicle” for these radical leftists controlling him.
“He’s a vehicle and he turned out to be great for them,” Trump said. “None of them wanted him because he can’t speak and he couldn’t speak three years ago—he couldn’t speak at the debates. The last debate, he gave away the whole energy. He actually said he doesn’t want to do energy. I said that was a Perry Mason moment. But in the end, the press doesn’t pick it up. The press is dishonest not for what they say but for what they don’t say in many ways. It’s almost worse.”
Trump noted that the weaponization of law enforcement against him and other political opponents of these leftists is a whole new step towards the third world.
“I think what they’ve done with the weaponization and going after your political opponent—I think that’s one of the biggest moves made in politics in this country in a hundred years,” Trump said. “It’s never happened here. It has happened in banana republics and third world countries fairly routinely.”
Trump also added that the leftists steering Biden are “unrestrained lunatics.”
“Yeah, I think they are unrestrained lunatics,” Trump told Breitbart News. “I believe they will do whatever is necessary but we’re going to win. We’re going to win. For instance, they indicted me four times and the greatest criminals on earth haven’t been indicted four times.”
