News of Dex’s death due to an accidental fentanyl overdose comes one day after Rick Harrison, one of the chief talents on Pawn Stars, revealed that his 39-year-old son, Adam, died from a fentanyl overdose, which he blamed on the border crisis.

“The fentanyl crisis in this country must be taken more seriously. It seems it is just flowing over the borders and nothing is being done about it. We must do better,” he said.

The annual death toll from fentanyl poisoning among Americans now equals the annual death toll of American soldiers in World War II. But Biden has made no effort to deter the Chinese from poisoning Americans citizens by, for example, ending the subsidies we provide to their economy or revoking China’s Most Favored Nation trade status, or closing all the Confucius Institutes in our universities set up to steal our technologies. From the Chinese Communist point of view, this alone would be worth the tens of millions of dollars they have poured into the Bidens’ pockets. DAVID HOROWITZ

So they want billions and billions in assistance to foreign countries, such as Ukraine, which is not a NATO country, but a big hog wallow for the U.S. foreign policy consulting establishment, nearly all Democrats, drawing lots of "contracts," if not losing track of the money entirely, as a top Ukrainian official admitted, but they refuse to lift a finger to halt Joe Biden's open-borders policies, which have created untold misery on city streets as migrants are dumped, human trafficking networks are empowered, cartels are growing so rich they are driving Mexicans out of their homes, families are being separated and broken up and kids sold into slavery based on Biden's immigration incentives, migrants are dying en route through dangerous crossings, illegal alien crime is growing, and Democrat-led cities are seeing their budgets blown out and vital police and fire services cut.

REALITIES OF JOE BIDEN'S OPEN BORDER:

The lethal policy also sucks jobs and wealth from heartland states by subsidizing coastal investors with a flood of low-wage workers, high-occupancy renters, and government-aided consumers.

The population inflow also reduces the political clout of native-born Americans, because it encourages elites to divorce themselves from the needs and interests of the ordinary Americans whom they want to treat as an irredeemable caste NEIL MUNRO

JOE BIDEN is known as a serial liar, a "public servant" who has somehow managed to accrue tremendous wealth, a race-baiting opportunist, Catholic-in-name-only, and a bought-and-paid-for politician in bed with criminal cartels and foreign foes.  In another era, Joe Biden would have been run out of his country much the same way Benedict Arnold was two and a half centuries ago; in an era when integrity, honor, fortitude, fidelity, and grit have been jettisoned for immorality, unscrupulousness, weakness, betrayal, and craven pliability, however, he is elevated to king sleazeball in a city drowning in sleaze. Jordan Subpoenas HHS Sec: How Many HHS-Placed Migrant Children Are Criminals or Are Put in Homes with Them?

Is the HHS placing unaccompanied alien children (UACs) in the homes of convicted criminals, or placing criminal UACs into the homes of law-abiding Americans? That’s what the House Judiciary Committee wants to know.

If so, just how many criminal unaccompanied alien children (UACs) are being placed in the homes of unwary American sponsors - and how many innocent alien children are being placed in the homes of convicted rapists, murderers and other criminals?

House Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) was forced to subpoena Health and Human Services (HHS) Sec. Xavier Becerra this week, after a year and a half of HHS stonewalling his committee’s repeated requests for answers.

Rep. Jordan is subpoenaing Becerra for data and information about HHS policies relating to the placement of unaccompanied alien children (UAC) with sponsors and sponsor vetting, as well as the placement of criminal and gang-affiliated UACs in sponsor homes.

In particular, the Committee wants answers to questions that HHS’s Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) director didn’t answer when he was questioned at a hearing last June, such as:

  • Whether ORR has a policy to refer known gang members to the Department of Justice before deciding to transfer them to sponsor homes.

  • The total number of UACs that ORR has placed in the custody of a known sex offender.

  • The total number of sponsor applications rejected based on the potential sponsor being a convicted murderer.

When questioned, ORR Dir. Robin Dunn Marcos pleaded ignorance, but promised HHS would provide the answers following the hearing.

The answers never came, despite multiple follow-up requests by the Committee.

“Accordingly, given HHS’s inadequate voluntary compliance, please find attached a subpoena for the Committee’s requested documents and information,” Chairman Jordan’s writes in the subpoena’s cover letter to Sec. Becerra.

The urgency of gaining answers regarding the vetting and placement of unaccompanied alien minors is highlighted by a Judiciary Committee report describing the case of a 20 year-old woman who was killed and raped, allegedly by a suspected gang member UAC placed in a sponsor home:

"A tragic example of the failure to enforce U.S. immigration law under [DHS] Secretary [Alejandro] Mayorkas’ watch is the murder and sexual assault of autistic 20-year-old Kayla Hamilton in Aberdeen, Maryland in July 2022.”

The UAC had been transferred to the care of a woman identified as his aunt in Frederick, Maryland. He is facing charges of strangling Hamilton to death.

He was placed in a foster home even while his homicide charge was pending and after he was found to be affiliated with MS-13.

The interim report said that the committee’s oversight "revealed that the Biden Administration insufficiently vetted Kayla’s murderer and allowed him to enter the country."

Kayla’s mother, Tammy Nobles, is now suing both the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Department of Human Services (HHS) for $100 million for the wrongful death of her daughter.

Nobles’ suit contends that her daughter would still be alive, if the government had done its job and denied a confirmed MS-13 gang member acceptance into the U.S., to be placed in a home where he had the opportunity to rape and kill Kayla.

“For me, this not a political issue, this a safety issue for everyone living in the United States,” she told a House Homeland Security Committee impeachment hearing into DHS Sec. Alejandro Mayorkas.

“Nobody at the border did their job and checked his background,” Nobles said in an interview on “NewsNation Prime.”

"She was brutally murdered and raped in her room, and he strangled her with the phone cord. And then he just robbed her of $6, and he just left her on the floor like trash and went to lunch with his half-brother like nothing happened," Nobles told Fox News.

The Biden Administration must be held accountable for failing to make even a single phone call to vet the 17 year-old El Salvadoran migrant, Nobles said:

"He had a record, a criminal record in El Salvador in 2020. And he also had gang tattoos. All they had to do was make one phone call to pull up his criminal record in El Salvador to find out… he was on the list for and listed as a known gang member of MS-13. Those two things should have kept him from entering the country."

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) has subpoenaed Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Xavier Becerra for information on the agency’s handling of criminals and gang members posing as Unaccompanied Alien Children (UACs) in the hopes of being released into the United States.

On Tuesday, Jordan announced that he subpoenaed Becerra, suggesting that HHS has been less than forthcoming regarding how the agency handles UACs who are discovered to be criminals and gang members.

HHS oversees the UAC program, in which children arriving at the U.S.-Mexico border are briefly taken into Department of Homeland Security (DHS) custody before being transferred to HHS custody, where they are eventually placed with an adult sponsor — the majority of whom are not their biological parents.

According to Jordan, the Judiciary Committee has asked repeatedly since June of last year for all information from HHS regarding where UACs are placed, the vetting process for adult sponsors, and what the agency does when a UAC is found to be a criminal or gang member.

HHS, Jordan alleges, has been unable to disclose the total number of UACs that the agency has placed in the custody of a known sex offender or the number of adult sponsors who have been rejected for being a convicted criminal, including a convicted murderer.

From Fiscal Year 2021 through Fiscal Year 2023, more than 370,000 UACs have been released into the U.S. interior by Biden’s DHS. The majority of UACs, 61 to 66 percent, are males, while 69 percent to 72 percent are 15 to 18-years-old.

As Breitbart News has chronicled, Becerra has been unable to guarantee that 100 percent of adult sponsors’ homes are inspected before a UAC is placed in their care — a requirement for many pet adoption programs, Rep. Debbie Lesko (R-AZ) previously noted.

Last year, the New York Times released a bombshell report suggesting that more than 85,000 UACs released into the U.S. interior had been lost in the system after being sent to live with adult sponsors — most of whom were not their biological parents — by HHS.

HHS losing contact with these UACs coincides with a boom in labor trafficking among migrant children. The labor trafficking pipeline has gotten so out of hand that the Department of Labor Inspector General has opened an investigation into the Biden administration’s handling of the issue.

OPEN BORDERS: DESTROYING THE NATION FASTER THAN THEY CAN DESTROY WHAT WAS THE BORDE

Border surge spreads west, video shows migrants rolling into La Jolla's Windansea Beach

You've got to hand it to Texas's Gov. Greg Abbott: When he protects his state's border, the cartel human smuggling operators take their migrant landing points elsewhere, because not every state protects its borders like he does.

Which brings us to far-west San Diego where I am, with its famous surfing spot, Windansea Beach in tony, ritzy, La Jolla, which is at least as rich as Martha's Vineyard, immortalized in Tom Wolfe's 1968 New Journalism masterpiece, "The Pumphouse Gang."

Maybe the "mysterioso" stuff is a lot of garbage, but still, it is interesting. The surfers around the Pump House use that word, mysterioso, quite a lot. It refers to the mystery of the Oh Mighty Hulking Pacific Ocean and everything.

What's going on at Windansea now?

Since this is a place I know well -- not the scruffy, low-class border area, not the forbidding cactus-filled, rattlesnake-infested, desert/mountain badlands, both of which are associated with illegals arriving in San Diego County -- I feel the shock of recognition. They are rolling in on this side now.

The scrappy, independent Times of San Diego reported:

In a second incident, in La Jolla about 90 minutes later, a large panga landed on the rocks at Windansea, OnScene reported, with up to 30 people seen leaving the boat. The group, including women and children, ran east to waiting vehicles on La Jolla Boulevard. The cars left the scene.

(Because you know the left-leaning San Diego Union-Tribune isn't going to cover this.)

The migrants are now coming here, in well-organized, perfectly timed, practiced, military precision. Look at the planning that went into that landing. They must have done this many times before.

They left their litter, too, according to this Instagram post:

"The waves were gnarly and the boat had capsized; the fuel had dumped into the water and you could smell it," a local said.

There have been other incidents of migrants landing boats in tony coastal areas in the last few years -- I've seen reports of migrant boats landing in Coronado, Huntington Beach, and Malibu, but as you can see from the video, this was right out front in downtown La Jolla in broad daylight.

Until now, it's never been this brazenly done.

Where are they going? What will they be doing? Who are the NGOs on the inside who are helping them? We know that home break-ins and car burglaries are dramatically up in La Jolla, and yes, foreign gangs from places like Chile have been implicated. Where are these recent arrivals now?

The topic is trending on Twitter because it's such a shock to those of us who know the place.

Many people are asking how the hell that boat got through right there next to the signature port of the world's mightiest Navy, with the home of the great nuclear submarines just down the coast at Point Loma?

Was nobody guarding the coast? Or are migrants simply being waved through, perhaps for a handsome cartel payment? Who pays for that disposable boat with its $20,000 engine?

Imagine if those military-aged young men rolling out into that waiting van on La Jolla Boulevard were actual soldiers? As this video makes the rounds on the internet, you can bet China and Russia are watching.

Where the heck was the Coast Guard?

And howzat outsourcing of the guarding of our border and sea coasts to the Mexican National Guard (just announced the other day) working out?

According to a Border Report item that ran on local Fox5 News:

According to Mexico’s National Guard, it will try to have at least three soldiers on patrol in the area at all times.

“It’s not worth risking your life by trying to swim around the wall,” said Juan Hernández Guiñal, director of water rescues for the Tijuana Fire Department. “There are high waves and strong currents, which add to the level of danger for the migrants, we urge them to not cross the border in this area.”

They don't need to swim. They'll just take the water taxi to La Jolla, complete with waiting van on the other side, because nobody's going to stop them.

Since everyone in La Jolla is likely to be talking about this, it's a huge whomp upside the head for them. They are rich and they vote generally blue. Border problems are problems of the badlands, not the boulevards and promenades of La Jolla.

Now they get the border surge Joe Biden launched on Texas, like a squeezed balloon spilling over to the California coast.

Thus far, nobody in the establishment has said a word about this, not the City of San Diego, of which La Jolla is an enclave, not the San Diego Union-Tribune, not the wokester Navy, not the Coast Guard. Was everyone at a drag show?

Who the hell missed this and why is it happening?

But you can bet that just like the residents of Martha's Vineyard, the residents of La Jolla are bound to be making phone calls, as their city looks to become the next Eagle Pass, or Lukeville. It's coming.

Take another bow, Joe.

Trump to States: Use National Guard to Remove Migrants Across Border

Former President Donald Trump called on governors to use their National Guard soldiers to remove migrants back across the border. His post on Truth Social follows statements from 25 Republican governors supporting the State of Texas’s standoff against the Biden administration in Shelby Park.

“We encourage all willing States to deploy their guards to Texas to prevent the entry of Illegals, and to remove them back across the Border,” President Trump wrote. “All Americans should support the commonsense measures by Texas authorities to protect the Safety, Security, and Sovereignty of Texas, and of the American people.”

In part one of his post, Trump wrote, “In the face of this National Security, Public Safety, and Public Health Catastrophe, Texas has rightly invoked the Invasion Clause of the Constitution and must be given full support to repel the Invasion.”

The former president’s comments came on the day 25 Republican governors from Alaska to Florida, New Hampshire to Nevada, issued statements of support for Texas and Governor Greg Abbott’s mission to secure the state’s southern border.

“If Greg Abbott needs more razor wire, I’ll load it into a pickup myself,” South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem told Fox News Thursday night.

On Tuesday, the Department of Homeland Security sent a second demand letter to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton demanding the State allow full, unimpeded access to Shelby Park in Eagle Pass, Breitbart Texas’s Randy Clark reported. The Texas Military Department seized the park earlier this month and expelled the Border Patrol agents other than those launching boats into the Rio Grande.

By January 26, 2024, please confirm that the State will provide U.S. Border Patrol with the access described above,” DHS General Counsel Jonathan E. Meyer wrote in the letter to Paxton. “If the State refuses the requested access in part, but not in whole, please specify what access you intend to deny.”

As the deadline approached, Abbott is standing fast on the State’s control of Shelby Park and the small section of the Rio Grande border with Mexico.

“Texas has a constitutional right to defend and protect itself,” Abbott told Fox News. “We will continue to hold the line.”

Since the new fiscal year began on October 1, 2023, Border Patrol agents apprehended more than 460,000 migrants who illegally crossed the border between ports of entry into the five Texas-based sectors, according to unofficial Border Patrol reports reviewed by Breitbart Texas.

A word about the elections down Mexico way

Mexicans elect a new president every six years.  So it occasionally happens that the U.S. and Mexico have elections on the same year. Such is 2024, when voters in both countries will get to choose a new president and Congress.

Former U.S. ambassador to Mexico Earl Anthony Wayne has expressed some concerns about democracy south of the border. This is what he wrote:

AMLO has been very critical of the Supreme Court and other autonomous institutions that were created over the years as Mexico was building its democracy. However, AMLO has not had the two-thirds majority in both houses of Congress needed to approve the constitutional reforms he would like to see. His attempted reforms have sparked very large counter demonstrations and been rebuffed by Mexico’s courts, but he has persisted in his calls for constitutional change.

During AMLO’s six-year tenure, the independent global indexes on democracy and related issues, including corruption and rule of law, have reported deterioration and backsliding in the quality of Mexico’s democracy. The 2023 World Justice Project’s Rule of Law Index, for example, tracks a decline in Mexico’s rule of law score during AMLO’s term and currently ranks Mexico at 116 out of the 142 countries measured. Thus, the outcome of the Mexico’s elections could be very important for the strength of Mexico’s democratic institutions.

Not surprisingly, many in Mexico see the 2024 elections as a test for maintaining the strength of its democracy – echoing themes being heard in the U.S. election campaign.

Interesting.  I learned this week that Mexicans are planning a huge march nationwide to protect their democracy from what they see as AMLO's overreach.

At the moment, AMLO’s candidate, Claudia Sheinbaum, looks like an easy winner in the upcoming election.  She is leading against opposition candidate, Senator Xóchitl Gálvez, by a strong margin.  One of these two ladies will be the next president of Mexico and it looks like it will be Claudia.

The real threat to democracy is that AMLO doesn't go away.  I am not saying that he stays as president but rather does not leave the stage.  His candidate Sheinbaum looks more and more like a puppet of AMLO.  She is a well-educated woman but does not have the personality to match AMLO's political skills.

At some point, likely President Sheinbaum may have to lock AMLO in the closet and prove to Mexicans that she is in charge.  It will be tough.
