‘Blood Money’: Establishment Media Blame Republicans for Joe Biden’s Fentanyl Debacle
President Joe Biden’s deputies are trying to blame Republicans for his failure to slow the massive inflow of fentanyl through his semi-open southern border.
NBC News touted Biden’s campaign-year fentanyl pitch on Tuesday, which will likely be part of his Thursday State of the Union address.
“We do have technology that’s in the warehouse that has been tested — but we need approximately $300 million [to] actually put the technology in the ground,” claimed Troy Miller, the acting commission of the Customs and Border Protection agency. “It’s extremely frustrating,” he said in an article that was pushed by media companies to the top of newsfeeds nationwide.
The Democrat Party’s blame-shifting comes as investigative author Peter Schweizer has detailed China’s central role in the fentanyl drug disaster, which is killing roughly 70,000 young Americans each year — far more than the Vietnam War’s total death toll of 55,000.
“What everyone needs to understand is that China is the senior partner in the fentanyl trade to kill Americans, and the cartels are the junior partners … end-to-end, America’s fentanyl epidemic is a Chinese pipeline,” says Schweizer’s “Blood Money.”

Biden’s deputies are eager to use their drug crisis as a campaign club against former President Donald Trump, according to Jon Feere, a former top staffer in Trump’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency.
“There’s no doubt the Secretary of Homeland Security and people in the White House have the means to put together $300 million [by moving] it around from other departments,” he told Breitbart News.
They are “choosing not to spend [the $300 million] on these machines that allegedly would make a huge difference in the trafficking of fentanyl,” he added. Meanwhile, the administration is spending billions of dollars to welcome, feed, transport, and shelter Biden’s migrants throughout the United States.

emorris“The fact that they are interested in using [the drug-detection machines] as a bargaining chip or a political tool suggests that they’re not all that serious about the importance of these machines,” Feere noted.
For months, Biden has been excusing his disastrous and unpopular migration policy by blaming the GOP, whose voters strongly oppose his mass migration priorities.
For example, in August and October, Biden asked for many billions of emergency dollars to run the “Northside Catch and Release Network,” which supports millions of migrants. The requests also asked for $416 million to speed up the deployment of the drug surveillance machines.
Since February, he has also blamed the GOP for blocking the open-borders “border security” bill that Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY), and Biden’s border chief, Alejandro Mayorkas, secretly developed.
GOP Senators shut down the bill once the pro-migration details were revealed. Those details included several billion dollars to bail out the “sanctuary cities” that are sheltering Biden’s migrants during the 2024 campaign.
But the bill also included roughly $400 million for the popular goal of installing more of the machines that can find hidden drugs in vehicles as they cross the border, NBC reported:
The new technology, known as Non-Intrusive Inspection, or NII, lets CBP X-ray a percentage of cars and trucks as they pass through the massive U-shaped screeners, which look something like car washes. Drivers don’t have to get out of their vehicles to be screened, which means traffic can keep flowing through border checkpoints with fewer interruptions.
NBC blamed the GOP for the administration’s failure to deploy the machines, saying:
But some of the equipment that has been purchased hasn’t yet been put into use, because Congress hasn’t allocated the funding needed to install it. The money to install the screeners was in the supplemental funding request Republicans blocked.
In a separate article, published Wednesday, NBC suggested Biden would try to blame the GOP for his many failures:
WASHINGTON — In his State of the Union speech this week, President Joe Biden will pose a question that he hopes will answer itself: Whose side are you on?
Are Americans, as he’ll frame it, on the side of lower health care costs, democratic freedoms and Ukraine’s fight to keep itself from being swallowed up by Russia? Or on the side of drug company profits, tax breaks for the wealthy and Russia’s autocratic leader Vladimir Putin?
The GOP has held hearings into the connections between Biden’s easy-migration rules, the Mexican cartels, and China.
“You talk about welcoming those crossing our border “seeking protection” — you’re welcoming drug dealers across our border!” said Rebecca Kiessling, the emotional Michigan mother of two young men who were killed by a drug overdose in Michigan in a March 2023 hearing. She added:
I don’t use the term “drug overdose” because this was not an overdose. This was murder. My children got fake Percocets [pills] that were fentanyl. There was no Percocet in it at all. And it’s “homicide,” not “overdose.”

Biden’s deputies have not pressured Mexico to forcibly shut down the drug trade because they need Mexico’s cooperation to stabilize the chaotic flow of migrants across Biden’s semi-open border, Feere said.
The Democrats’ eagerness to blame the GOP for drug deaths on Biden’s watch “all goes hand-in-hand with the administration’s general view of national sovereignty — they’re just not that into it,” said Feere, adding, “They don’t care about the effects it has on the American people. They don’t care about the impact that has on our society. This is an anti-border administration run by some of the most extreme American activists they can find … They’re sick.”
“The reality is that Americans see nothing but chaos and crime perpetrated by this administration — and even [administration officials] are realizing these little political games aren’t going to work to their advantage,” he said.

What appeared to be organic protests in the United States during the summer of 2020 in the wake of George Floyd’s death were actually in many cases organized by members of little-known radical organizations linked to China, according to a new book by Breitbart News Senior Contributor Peter Schweizer.
The book, Blood Money: Why the Powerful Turn a Blind Eye While China Kills Americans, details how a number of seemingly spontaneous violent protests and riots by far-left activists against police brutality over the past decade in America were organized by groups backed and funded by Beijing.
One of those groups is the Freedom Road Socialist Organization (FRSO), a secretive pro-Beijing organization.

Protests and rioting erupted after a series of high-profile cases, including the deaths of black teens Trayvon Martin in Florida in 2012 and Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, in 2014. One of the key organizers of protests in Ferguson was Montague Simmons, who was the leader of the Organization for Black Struggle (OBS) in St. Louis. He would later divulge during a presentation that he had brought some 10,000 out-of-state activists to participate in the protest.
Simmons was also reportedly a member of Liberation Road, an offshoot of FRSO. Left-wing author Max Elbaum wrote the definitive history of the radical movement, in which he said FRSO has a long history of taking “their cues from Beijing.”
Schweizer writes that beginning with Ferguson, FRSO activists played an important role in the next half decade in pushing protests toward violence.
When the Black Lives Matters (BLM) protests broke out in May 2020 following the death of George Floyd, FRSO members’ fingerprints were all over them.
Weeks after the BLM protests broke out in Minneapolis, FRSO political secretary Steff Yorek’s wife Jess Sundin bragged about organizing night rallies and emptying the police station, Target, and other major stores, calling it “absolutely tied to, connected to, and part of the movement.”
“I can’t tell you the joy it brought all of us to see the Third Precinct destroyed,” she said.

FRSO member Michael Sampson organized a protest in Jacksonville, Florida; and in August 2020, FRSO was involved in rioting in Kenosha, Wisconsin, where it has a chapter.
In 2022, FRSO would openly pledge its support for the Chinese Communist Party during its Twentieth National Congress in a message that read:
Dear Comrades,
Freedom Road Socialist Organization congratulates the leadership of the Communist Party of China, with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, for the great successes achieved at the 20th National Congress. . . . Socialist China is an example to oppressed people everywhere who yearn for a better future. Again, congratulations on a successful 20th Congress. The CPC is truly a great political party that has proven its ability to do great things. Long live the Communist Party of China! Long live the unity between the people of China and the people of the U.S.!

The Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL) is another secretive Beijing-tied group that has fanned the flames of social disunity in the U.S. since Ferguson.
Brian Becker, national director of the ANSWER Coalition and a member of PSL, cast the Ferguson protests as a “rebellion.” PSL distributed flyers in Ferguson that proclaimed, “There can be no peace with this system! . . . The Party for Socialism and Liberation stands with those in the streets—they have every right to rebel. . . . the system is criminal . . . The cops are the real gangs.”

Becker had in the past said it was the “responsibility of all revolutionaries and progressive people to resist the imperialist offensive and offer militant political defense of the Chinese government.” While Becker has condemned police brutality in the U.S., he has defended the Communist Chinese government for the Tiananmen Square Massacre, calling it “the massacre that wasn’t.”
China’s state media outlet, the Global Times, has even interviewed Becker for a piece headlined “China’s Socialist Goals a Source of Inspiration to Those Who Seek a Humanist Alternative: AntiWar Socialist.” Becker has also appeared on Chinese state-owned media criticizing the United States and defending the Chinese regime.
Another PSL leader named Eugene Puryear from Washington, DC, was actively involved in George Floyd protests in Minneapolis, Philadelphia, and D.C. He has also praised China, and hosted a podcast episode called, “Why China Will Win: Capitalism Inherently Collapses.” He has also argued that criticism of China’s human rights record is “warmongering propaganda.”

PSL also organized a protest in Denver in July 2020, where a mob of 600 people surrounded the Aurora Police Department’s District 1 station and barricaded it for more than seven hours. Four PSL members were arrested and charged with inciting and engaging a riot.
PSL also organized some of the largest demonstrations in Philadelphia, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. The paper “failed to inform its readers about PSL’s close ties to Beijing or the organization’s defense of more extensive and widespread police brutality in China,” Schweizer writes.
PSL leaders were present in Boston to protest the death of a woman at the hands of the police, leading hundreds in chanting, “No good cop in a racist system.”
In Madison, Wisconsin, PSL leaders called for the release of all inmates from Dane County Jail and organized “phone and email campaigns to pressure local officials.”
Even in tiny Westville, Indiana, with population just over 5,000, PSL was among the groups who organized a protest demanding the release of all inmates from the Westville Correctional Facility, Schweizer writes.
In Atlanta, PSL leaders “guided” protestors downtown, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
PSL also organized protests in New York City, New Haven, Detroit, Austin, Anchorage, San Francisco, San Diego, Asheville, Chicago, and Rhode Island, according to Schweizer.
Funding some of these groups is an American billionaire in Beijing, who made a fortune after an investment firm partly owned by the Chinese government’s sovereign wealth fund bought his software company. The mysterious billionaire’s “ties to the regime are so substantial that he was reportedly invited to attend the Chinese Communist Party Congress,” writes Schweizer. In India, the government’s Director of Enforcement alleges that the billionaire “is associated with the propaganda arm of the Communist Party of China.” (He denies it.) The billionaire, Neville Roy Singham, has in turn poured more than $100 million into radical leftist groups in the U.S., such as CODEPINK (which was co-founded by Singham’s wife, Jodie Evans) and the People’s Forum — whose co-executives are PSL members, Schweizer writes.

The People’s Forum serves as a platform for both BLM and radical so-called antifascists, and its members have been part of numerous anti-police protests across the U.S., he writes.
Schweizer details how before these protests, a contingent of Chinese intelligence professionals from the Second Department of the People’s Liberation Army, a Chinese military intelligence unit, landed at the Chinese Consulate in Houston, Texas, sometime in the first half of 2020, posing as academics under so-called J-1 research visas and not disclosing their affiliation with the Chinese military.
Schweizer reveals that the intelligence officers, working with technicians from Huawei, a Chinese military–linked technology company, “were identifying and targeting Americans they hoped would get involved with at least the peaceful protests, if not the violent riots.” They also posted “customized” videos to TikTok instructing Americans how to organize protests and riots, according to Schweizer.
In July 2020, the U.S. government demanded that China’s Houston consulate be closed, which prompted the burning of documents in the courtyard of the consulate. Schweizer writes that the consulate had been involved in stealing American technology and spying, but officials were largely silent about the role the Chinese intelligence officers were playing in steering protests to foment violence.

“Why the silence? Is it because the George Floyd protests were considered sacrosanct by the political and media class?” Schweizer asks. “That made them a perfect target for exploitation by China. If the PLA unit had gone undetected, how effective could it have been in stirring up further division in the United States? Were—and are—there other similar units operating undetected elsewhere in the United States?”
Schweizer also reveals that PSL and FRSO organizers are also involved in anti-Israel protests after Hamas terrorists launched an attack in southern Israel on October 7, 2023, that killed 1,200.
At a D.C. rally in November, Eugene Puryear and Brian Becker of PSL spoke, as did Vijay Prashad and Layan Fuleihan from the People’s Forum. The crowd chanted “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free,” a call for the complete geographical elimination of Israel. PSL also organized protests in New York City, Anaheim, and Boston, according to Schweizer.
FRSO is also involved in the anti-Israel protests. FRSO leadership held an event in Minneapolis to celebrate the anniversary of the Chinese revolution, where they praised “Palestinian freedom fighters.”
Schweizer writes: “It was a remarkable replay of the violent and disruptive days of 2020 when the cause had been different—but the end results are the same: tumult, social divisiveness, and chaos. It was like fanning a small flame, and then watching the fire burn from across the river.”
“The United States has its dividing issues and problems—but China is happy to fan the flames. Much of that work is being done by groups that meet with CCP officials, are tracked by Chinese Communist intelligence, and receive funding from China,” he concludes. “Our leaders are silent and absent.”

Is Jill Biden aspiring to be ‘Gucci’ Grace Mugabe?
Throughout the course of human history, political affairs have been governed by the “strike while the iron is hot” adage, and weakness, incompetence, or a “perfect storm” of illness, distraction, confusion or diminishing mental (or military) capacity have always been “hot iron.”
In May of 2000 Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, speaking to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, warned that any “premature” withdrawal from Kosovo would be interpreted (in the Balkans) as a sign of weakness: “We cannot afford that in a region where weakness attracts vultures.”
As some leading Democrats now admit, Joe Biden’s severely diminished cognitive function is on full display, no doubt a sign of American vulnerability, and I fear the vultures of the world are circling.
In years past, politicians removed from office by force have included Julius Caesar, a seriously twisted puppy named Caligula, dictators like Adolf Hitler, Pol Pot, and a guy named Mussolini. Informed historians realize that some elected officials, showing signs of dementia, frailness, or mental decline, have actually been removed from office without using a knife, poison, or a D-Day invasion, but through peer pressure, concerned colleagues, friends, family members… and ultimately by the voters.
Most recently, Dianne Feinstein, Mitch McConnell, and several federal judges have been brave enough to admit that, due to age and diminishing cognitive abilities, it was time to hang up their gavel or titles. The major difference between these individuals and Biden though, is that the former did not have their fingers on nuclear launch codes, nor do they have the ability to de facto declare war.
According to the NCIB, the number of elderly heads of state varies greatly according to country, but rulers in the Middle East and Sub-Saharan Africa have a substantial number of senior citizen politicians (very few of whom have nuclear weapons). The article further describes how some deteriorating heads of state have, as a last-ditch effort, proclaimed their wives to be “substitutes” to avoid facing a medical coup d’état:
In Tunisia president Habib Bourguiba’s dementia became evident, and he fell victim to a medical coup d’état, led by his own prime minister Ben Ali. Later Ben Ali’s failing mental powers were compensated by his wife Laila Trabelsi.
In 2017, at the age of 93, Robert Mugabe from Zimbabwe, was forced to step down due to an (almost instantaneous) impeachment process, with the accusation that he “allowed his wife to usurp constitutional power”. It’s possible that “chemo brain” fog from Mugabe’s cancer treatments induced dementia or cognitive impairment, which may have been the major reason Mugabe allegedly outsourced political decisions to his wife, “Gucci Grace,” because he was unable to fulfill the “physical and mental” duties required. (Don’t forget, Biden has undergone several surgeries for brain aneurysms he had… in the Eighties.)
Facing impeachment charges including the “inability to perform the functions of the Office” Mugabe resigned, but not before his “luxurious” wife negotiated a pre-resignation deal:
Robert Mugabe and his wife will receive a ‘golden handshake’ worth many millions of dollars as part of a deal negotiated before the resignation of the ageing [sic] autocrat last week. The exact sums to be paid to the former president and his wife Grace are still unclear, though one senior ruling party official with direct knowledge of the agreement said the total would not be less than $10m.
The official said that Mugabe, who has been granted immunity from prosecution and a guarantee that no action will be taken against his family’s extensive business interests, would receive a ‘cash payment of $5m’ immediately, with more paid in coming months.
The 93-year-old’s $150,000 salary will also be paid until his death. The 52-year-old first lady, reviled for her extravagance and greed, will then receive half that amount for the rest of her life.
Not bad for a Marxist dictator… eh?
It is certainly not in my wheelhouse to compare, contrast, or determine whether Biden resembles, in any way, Mugabe or Ben Ali, or whether Jill Tracy Jacobs Biden (PhD Education) has any semblance of the political ambitions held by Laila Trabelsi or “Gucci” Grace Mugabe; but, there are enough examples of cognitive decline and frailty in Biden to warrant an investigation, as well as into the possibility of “elder abuse” by his handlers.
If a beloved family member with dementia forgot to get fully dressed before going outside, most would immediately stop them… and help them put on proper attire. Seeing Joe Biden in the searing spotlight of global conflicts and the blood sport of politics, makes me wish someone, anyone, would keep him from walking around cognitively naked on the world stage—for everyone’s sake.
Do friends and family members have any moral or legal responsibility to treat Joe with human dignity? If they continue to neglect him, what does that mean for the future and security of our country?
Why hasn’t anyone in the “investigative journalism” business asked Jill Biden if she might be “enabling” (or possibly committing) elder abuse?
Maybe the first lady could lay her healing hands on a divided country and, speaking in tongues, deliver a nationally televised press conference on the importance of this topic—I’d suggest that her sage advice be scheduled for Saturday, June 15th, World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.
Until then, I’ll be cautiously watching the circling vultures.

There’s new information about who’s really in charge of Joe Biden
Most people watching Joe Biden believe that he’s a puppet who says and does what he’s told. He seems to be a “useful idiot,” as the 20th century’s communists would have said. The big question, then, is who’s really in charge in the White House? Barack Obama? Valerie Jarrett? Nope, a Bloomberg report intimates. It’s really Jill Biden, and she intends to see her decrepit husband run again.
According to a Nancy Cook article at Bloomberg, the person with whom Joe doublechecks every decision he makes is his unelected wife, Jill Biden, a school teacher who wrote a shoddy dissertation to justify a truly meaningless doctorate in education. Writes Cook:
[W]ithin the White House she is understood to be the president’s closest and most protective confidante.
“She is his gut check on everything,” said Michael LaRosa, former press secretary to the first lady and special assistant to the president.
As the campaign unfolds, the first lady is expected to assert herself on major decisions, especially the biggest of them all: whether Biden — at 80, the oldest person to ever hold the presidency — will run for re-election in the first place. She supports a bid, according to people familiar with the matter, because she cares about how her husband is perceived and believes he’s better at the job than his 42% average approval rating indicates most Americans think.
After several paragraphs describing how the couple met, Cook returns to Jill’s influence on Biden’s administration. We’re told that, while Jill “does not have a reputation for involving herself in policy minutiae, the first lady pays close attention to her husband’s broader public portrayal and to themes of his speeches and events.” If she’s overseeing “themes,” that means she has a say in (or control over) policy.

Another thing that Jill does is work hard to protect Biden from looking bad. Thus, according to Cook, Jill chastised Joe’s top aides in 2022 for letting the president take questions from the press for two hours. That the American people are entitled to know what’s going on (a function the press barely performs) must take second place to Jill’s efforts to keep from reminding Americans that their president is a decrepit, declining man.
Mostly, the Bloomberg article is a puff piece, talking about how useful Jill will be on the campaign trail in 2024 and how she’s less divisive than Michelle or Melania. It’s important to note here, though, that Melania did nothing out of the ordinary and was an unusually beautiful and poised woman who kept out of politics. She was “divisive” only because the media attacked her for anything and everything.
I tend to think that the Bloomberg article understates just how involved Jill is in the Biden administration. I haven’t forgotten how Jill, during the first year of Biden’s administration, tweeted out a photo of her “Prepping for the G7”:
No one doubts that, in an affectionate marriage (which the Bidens clearly have), there’s inevitably pillow talk that sees the president discussing issues with his wife. However, no one looking at the Biden marriage believes that the president has the capacity to discuss issues intelligently with his wife. To the extent there’s mental wattage in that marriage, the ideas and decisions flow from her to him and not vice versa.
What all of this means is that America isn’t governed by a president whose election was dubious at best; instead, it’s governed by the completely unvetted wife of that same dubiously elected president. And that wife has rather consistently demonstrated that she’s not very bright or informed but is very pushy.
The one good thing is that it’s the Democrats’ nightmare to see Joe run again. In 2020, they could get away with the con that Americans hated Trump so much they’d rather have a barely sentient, corrupt, creepy fossil in the White House. However, given the myriad (and intended) disasters of Biden’s administration—a failing economy, a broken border, flailing national security, and an ever-closer WWIII—it'll be a lot harder to cheat Joe into the White House, especially with Kamala at his side.
In other words, Joe Biden is the Republicans’ dream Democrat candidate. And if that’s what Jill brings to the 2024 election…well, “Let’s go, Jill!”

Hunter has reportedly sold five paintings worth $75,000 each to an anonymous buyer. Hunter’s art dealer, Georges Bergès, has previously boasted he had strong ties to businessmen in Communist China, which has concerned many due to the Biden family’s business ventures abroad.
“We are 95% sure that that artwork went to China,” Comer said. “We don’t know where exactly that went to in China, but we’re going to try to find out when we get subpoena power.”

The kindest advice I gave the Democrats was that they should have taken a loss in 2022. Hand the House and the Senate to Republicans and clear the deck for a new generation of leadership. Biden would have been forced to follow Pelosi into retirement after a long grueling struggle with congressional Republicans.
Democrats would have had a good shot at winning in 2024 with a younger candidate who wasn’t at the wheel during these miserable years.
Instead, Biden was locked in for a second term. Most of the critics fell silent and endorsed his reelection campaign. The potential competitors, primarily Newsom, have gotten out of the way. They’ve won the battle and lost the war. And having caught the car, they have no idea what to do now.
Every potential Biden successor has fallen in line behind his yet-to-be-announced candidacy. Meanwhile, the private conversations about the wisdom of nominating an octogenarian and despair over who could take Biden’s place have hardly subsided…
“Nobody wants to be the one to do something that would undermine the chances of a Democratic victory in 2024,” Rep. Dean Phillips (D-Minn.) explained to me. “Yet in quiet rooms the conversation is just the opposite — we could be at a higher risk if this path is cleared.”
“It’s fear, plain and simple,” Phillips explained of both the lack of Democratic officials calling for a new nominee and reluctance of other candidates to step forward. “People are focused on self-preservation and their aspirations.“
Now, unless there’s a concerted effort to shed Biden, that path will be cleared.
There was the senator who said few Democrats in the chamber want Biden to run again but that the party had to devise “an alignment of interest” with the president to get him off the “narcotic” of the office; there was the governor who mused about just how little campaigning Biden would be able to do; and there was the House member who, after saying that, of course, Democrats should renominate the president told me to turn off my phone and then demanded to know who else was out there and said Harris wasn’t an option.
My favorite, though, was the Democratic lawmaker who recalled speaking to Jill Biden and, hoping to plant a seed about a one-term declaration of victory, told her how her husband should be celebrated for saving democracy. When I asked if I could use any of that on the record, the lawmaker shot back: “absolutely not.”
Weak, really weak.
Democrats have two options, push scandals undermining their own president, or prepare to challenge him in primaries. Both options are in theory on the table, except that they’re not.
The DNC voted to rig the primaries for Biden. In theory, a challenger should have good odds of beating Biden in the primaries, considering the polls, but the primaries have now been rigged to favor Biden’s black electorate. That means Biden will win the majority of early primaries out of the gate. Biden’s only likely challenger is also likely to be from the Bernie camp and that means a whole bunch of Democrats who may want an alternative will stick with Biden. If a more mainstream candidate jumps in, he or she will split the vote with the Berniecrat. Alternatively, he or she can cut a deal with the Berniecrats which will once again drive away more moderate voters. There are possibilities here, but few serious candidates seem to have the nerve to go all-in.
The alternative is to hope that the Hunter Biden investigation does something. That’s why the media has been giving it the time of day. But Democrats, of all people, ought to know how long of a shot that is. Even assuming that there are any criminal charges stemming from it that won’t just be dismissed by paying a fine (that’s what I suspect will happen), they’re not likely to touch Biden. Not under Merrick Garland.
A concerted party-wide consensus could shift the dial, but that isn’t likely to happen until things get scarier.
And meanwhile, there’s Kamala looming in the background.
When nearly a dozen Democratic governors lined up for a news conference to trumpet their midterm gains, eager to take a turn at the microphone, the voluble bunch grew quiet when I asked if they thought Harris should be nominated without a primary were Biden not to run.
“I don’t think we’re going to go there on that one, the president is running,” said Gov. Phil Murphy of New Jersey, the chair of the Democratic Governors Association.
When I asked if any of the other governors wanted to speak to the question, they all stayed silent until Murphy said “we’re good” and the governors broke out in a round of nervous laughter.
More to the point, Democrats have seen what happens when anyone in their party openly criticizes Harris — they’re accused by activists and social-media critics of showing, at best, racial and gender insensitivity. This doesn’t stifle concerns about her prospects, of course, it just pushes them further underground or into the shadows of background quotes.
Such as this, from a House Democrat: “The Democrats who will need to speak out on her are from the Congressional Black Caucus, no white member is going to do it.”
Maybe tethering their party to identity politics wasn’t the best plan?
Meanwhile, Team Biden is preparing for a second basement campaign.
The Biden folks believe that Trump or any other Republican nominee will be reluctant to work with the Commission on Presidential Debates, lessening the chances, and risk, of a head-to-head debate.
When your campaign plan is hoping your candidate won’t have to debate, that means you know he’s not qualified or competent to run.

Constant Government Lies Spark Resistance Movements

In the digital public square of social media, I have seen a noticeable uptick in biting memes and political cartoons calling out the U.S. government for its constant lies. In one example, a cyber-billboard screams, "I don't know if I'm being distracted by vaccine deaths so I don't notice inflation, or if inflation is the distraction to Ukraine money laundering, or if Ukraine is a distraction for rampant pedophilia, or if pedos are distracting me from election fraud." Clearly, that was produced before the great balloon scare gripped the nation.
Ah, but no sooner had China Joe proven once again how unsecured our open borders are by allowing a Chinese surveillance balloon to float above the continent's nuclear silos than I ran into a cartoon divided into four squares in which the same man was being hypnotized — first by a dangling coronavirus in 2020, then an mRNA "vaccine" shot in 2021, then a Ukraine flag in 2022, and finally an extraterrestrial spaceship in 2023.
Well done, meme masters and internet freethinkers! Actually, corrupt Senator Harry Reid had started to play the UFO card a decade ago, so perhaps this cycle is just starting up once again. Uff da.
If you want to know what's really going on within a society, you don't run to the national newspapers or interview people with titles. You get out and talk to the people nobody else would dare seek. In the Internet Age, you look at what's being said by ordinary people on unremarkable chatrooms whose opinions are routinely overlooked. What I see today is a bubbling movement of frustration and anger that is as acidic as anything I've come across. Americans are furiously mad — but noticeably not in despair. People are not throwing their hands up in desperation; they're venting their rage at a corrupt system of government that has gotten out of control. They're not hiding in the shadows, whispering in hushed tones; they're screaming at the top of their lungs, just daring the Big Tech censors to blot out their (un)free speech. They're not allowing the State's "politically correct" priests and purveyors of officially sanctioned disinformation to shame them into silence; they're laughing in the spin doctors' faces and calling out the government's mass propaganda for what it is. That's refreshing!
One of my favorite lines from Martin Scorsese's The Departed comes from hard-nosed cop Mark Wahlberg when he says, "My theory on Feds is they're like mushrooms...feed 'em s--- and keep 'em in the dark." The unfortunate truth is that that zinger perfectly encapsulates the federal government's philosophy regarding the American people. Whether it is White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre claiming that Slow Joe is the "best communicator" around; Treasury secretary Janet Yellen insisting for over a year that skyrocketing inflation would be "transitory"; government economists redefining words to avoid admitting that we're in a recession; Homeland Security secretary Alejandro Mayorkas flat-out lying about the southern border being "secure"; or former chief of staff Ron Klain preposterously labeling the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal, in which thirteen U.S. servicemembers lost their lives for no reason, a "tremendous humanitarian achievement," the people occupying the highest positions of power and authority in the U.S. government do not bat an eye while telling the American people the most outrageous falsehoods drenched in risibly nauseating sanctimony. It is we, the American people, who are constantly left in the dark and fed foul-smelling filth.
To a certain extent, this is nothing new. Governments lie and abuse their powers all the time. Anyone who says otherwise either is from the government or benefits directly from the government's monopoly on creating official public "narratives." Not so long ago, people allied with the political left understood this fundamental truth. They railed against the "weapons of mass destruction" rallying cry that catapulted the U.S. into two concurrent wars; they called out the PATRIOT Act as an obvious violation of civil rights; they lambasted Wall Street, Big Pharma, the military-industrial complex, and government's petty regulation regime. They could never admit it to themselves, but deep down, most would have agreed with President Reagan's quip about the nine most terrifying words in the English language being "I'm from the government, and I'm here to help." In their hearts, most Americans of whatever ideological persuasion understood and appreciated Lord Acton's famous warning that "all power tends to corrupt; absolute power corrupts absolutely."
After seeing how effectively the communist vanguard of "woke" warriors have used carrot-and-stick "intersectionality" to co-opt culture, finance, industry, the Intelligence Community, the FBI and DOJ, the courts, and even the military, one thing is abundantly clear: Lord Acton was right! Also clear is that now that political leftists have control over essentially all levers of administrative, economic, and cultural power, they've become amnesiacs when it comes to the great British historian's ardent warnings against centralized government's eternal threat to personal liberty. How quickly the left's mantra on gay "marriage" went from "love is love" to "you must bake the cake!" How brazenly the left's pro-choice jingles went from "safe, legal, and rare" to "shout your abortion!" How cognitively dissonant the left's favorite new tactic of vilifying political enemies as "Russian appeasers" appears when played next to decades of leftist outcry against Senator Joe McCarthy's "red scare." When people without principle secure power, then power alone is worshiped as the highest principle.
Where does that leave us? Well, if we're being honest, it should leave us with a shared understanding that the system as it exists today cannot hold. We cannot be a nation whose rights and liberties are guaranteed by a governing constitution when lawmakers, presidents, bureaucratic agencies, and federal courts have redefined the Constitution's plain meaning into a whole new document. We cannot be a free people with a cherished Bill of Rights when freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of assembly, freedom from unreasonable search and seizure, the right to self-defense, due process, and other supposedly secured rights are thrown out the window every time government agents declare a "health emergency" (especially now that "health" has been redefined to include everything under the sun, including "climate change" and "systemic racism"). We cannot pretend to have representative government when two private corporations posing as political parties exclude most Americans from office while promoting their own lackeys. We cannot feign to have a functioning Congress when most every member is a bought-and-paid-for stooge for some corporate special interest. We cannot profess to be wed to "democratic" principles when millions of unelected bureaucratic agents defended by an authoritarian and secretive national security Deep State run the show. We cannot make believe that we live with anything remotely like "free markets" when the value of the U.S. dollar continues to crumble, Congress spends more and more money it does not have, the private Federal Reserve bank of financial titans keeps printing currency, and the apologists for multinational behemoths claim that blue-collar towns across America must be destroyed in order to pay proper tribute to international treaties posing as bulwarks for "free trade." All these things are lies, and people of goodwill and conscience must call them out as such.
Believe it or not, that is what "the powers that be" fear the most: a self-assured population willing to see through all the poppycock and call it what it is. You didn't think our government just woke up one morning and decided to start an unprecedented mass-censorship campaign targeting "harmful" language" and "disinformation," did you? They did so because they noticed that the people have noticed that they're nothing but self-serving propagandists and liars. When people wake up in raw anger, real change is never far behind.
