CALIFORNIA: AMERICA'S FUCKED UP MELTDOWN STATE - Transgender activists nearly banned corrective surgery for infants!

Transgender Activists Nearly Banned Corrective Surgery for Infants in California

Daniel Greenfield

This isn't getting better. It's getting worse.
This version of the ban was too extreme even for California (and these days things have to be really extreme to be too crazy for Sacramento), but it seems inevitable that another version will pass. And parents will have to go for corrective surgery outside California. Unless that becomes classified as child abuse. And that could very well be the next step with this ACLU-backed bill.
California lawmakers have rejected what would have been a first-of-its-kind ban on medically unnecessary treatment for infants born with ambiguous or conflicting genitalia.
The measure would have banned all procedures on intersex children 6 and under unless the Medical Board of California deemed them medically necessary.
State Sen. Scott Wiener, a Democrat from San Francisco who wrote the measure, called it a civil rights issue and said the bill would “ensure that people who are born intersex are able to make their own choices about their health and their gender identity instead of having other people make those irreversible surgical choices for them.”
That's ironic, considering we are talking about a movement that wants parents to make those irreversible choices for children over 6.
As long as those irreversible choices trend their way.
And what the Medical Board of California might have deemed medically necessary, under pressure from the Human Rights Campaign and other lobbies would potentially have been quite needful.
Dr. Hillary Copp, a UC San Francisco urologist, testified:
“I have extreme concern that if  we legislate this issue, there is going to be a generation of children who suffer profound consequences that we’re unaware of.”
