On Wednesday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Hannity,” Breitbart News senior contributor Peter Schweizer said he reads President Biden’s statements about his son Hunter’s deals as a declaration that “it’s going to be business as usual in the Biden administration as far as these deals are concerned.”

Schweizer said, “Joe Biden has said there are going to be no sketchy overseas deals during his second term. Here’s the problem: He does not believe that the early deals that Hunter was involved in, the China deal, Burisma, he’s never described those as sketchy. So, I read that as saying, it’s going to be business as usual in the Biden administration as far as these deals are concerned.”

Biden Asia Czar’s Holdings May Present Conflict of Interest

Kurt Campbell owns part of a firm that gives advice to corporations doing business in Asia

President Joe Biden's Asia czar owns part of a "shadow lobbying firm" that gives strategic advice to corporations doing business in Asia, a position that ethics experts say could create conflicts of interest.

Kurt Campbell is the founder and former CEO of the Asia Group, a strategic consultancy firm based in Washington, D.C., and Hong Kong. He spent the past eight years running the group and is still listed as the owner of the Asia Group's investment bank arm, according to the D.C. Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs.

The Asia Group bills itself as the "premier strategic advisory firm to the world's leading companies seeking to excel across Asia" and provides businesses with strategic advice on government policy and business, including "advice to market leaders looking for investment opportunities in China's Belt & Road Initiative," a global infrastructure project by the Chinese government that has been deemed a security threat by U.S. officials.

Campbell's work for the firm could pose a conflict with his role as director of Asia policy at the National Security Council, where he is likely to encounter issues that overlap with his former clients' interests.

Jeff Hauser, the director of the Revolving Door Project at the Center for Economic and Policy Research, described the Asia Group as a "shadow lobbying firm." He said such firms, which have become prevalent in Washington, provide lobbying-like services but use legal loopholes to get around laws that would otherwise require them to register and disclose their clients.

Campbell's appointment to the National Security Council position was "worrisome because Campbell has been spending the last few years advising multinational and non-American companies in how to get the best results in Washington and capitals across Asia," said Hauser.

"I think it's just kind of hard for him to do his job without there being a conflict," Hauser said. "I think [the White House is] sort of baking conflict in by hiring somebody who has had such a disparate number of clients."

One conflict could be Campbell's work in China, the country that poses the most pressing geopolitical concerns for Biden's new administration. The Asia Group, which doesn't disclose its clients, says on its website that it "represents a diverse client base in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors, from leading Fortune 500 multinational corporations to cutting-edge early-stage companies" in the defense, tech, aviation, and medical industries in Asia.

Corporate records show Campbell founded the consulting firm in 2012, during his final months serving as an assistant secretary at the State Department. He spent the past eight years as CEO, stepping down on Jan. 14 after Biden appointed him.

Campbell still co-owns the Asia Group's bank arm, the Asia Group Capital Advisory Partners (TAG Capital), with a Shanghai tech tycoon with close ties to the Chinese government and numerous business interests under the jurisdiction of Chinese regulators.

It is unclear if Campbell has divested from TAG Capital or whether the investment bank is still actively operating. He is listed as an owner in the company's Washington, D.C., business filings. An official at the D.C. Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs told the Washington Free Beacon that businesses are required to file ownership changes immediately, and they have not yet received any change notices.

Campbell did not respond to a request for comment. The White House did not return a request for comment or respond to a request for Campbell's financial disclosure records. Those records are not yet available for many new administration hires.

According to a July 2020 financial disclosure report filed by Campbell's wife Lael Brainard—who has served on the Federal Reserve Board of Governors since 2014—Campbell held partial ownership of the Asia Group, TAG Capital, and a company called the Asia Group Capital Ventures as of last summer. He received distributions, shares of partnership income, and consulting fees from the companies, and the value of the businesses was "not readily ascertainable," according to the disclosure.

Campbell should "absolutely" divest from the companies if he has not already, said Hauser.

"It's quite possible he has already. If he has not, that is atrocious," Hauser said. "You have a powerful government figure with a direct way to profit that is pretty obvious. He absolutely should have no ties to any consulting company."

According to the TAG Capital website, which was removed from the internet in 2019, the firm is "a boutique investment bank specializing in cross-border transactions across the Asia-Pacific region." The company listed its main headquarters in Hong Kong and Washington, D.C.

"We draw on unparalleled relationships and decades of experience in every leading and emerging market in Asia to identify, advance, and execute unique opportunities for companies on both sides of the Pacific," said the website, noting that the company’s leadership had "deep insights into political and economic conditions and priorities at central, provincial, and municipal levels in governments throughout Asia."

The co-owner of TAG Capital is Robert Roche, an American ex-pat who lives in Shanghai and runs a multibillion-dollar labyrinth of Chinese and Cayman Islands-based media and technology companies. His flagship corporation, Acorn International, describes itself as "a leading direct marketing and branding company in China," with a diverse range of holdings in the advertising, e-commerce, and food sectors.

Roche's conglomerate operates under extensive regulations from the Chinese government, according to Acorn International’s Securities and Exchange Commission filings. "We operate our direct sales and advertising businesses in China under a legal regime consisting of the State Council, which is the highest authority of the executive branch of the PRC central government, and several ministries and agencies under its authority," the company disclosed.

Senior Chinese Official Tells Biden to Abandon ‘Misguided Policies’ of Trump

Senior Chinese foreign policy official Yang Jiechi, one of the top aides to dictator Xi Jinping, on Monday instructed President Joe Biden to abandon the “misguided policies” of his predecessor, Donald Trump.

Yang drew a “red line that must not be crossed” against U.S interference in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Tibet, or Xinjiang province.

“For the past few years, the Trump administration adopted misguided policies against China, plunging the relationship into its most difficult period since the establishment of diplomatic ties,” Yang told a virtual forum hosted by the New York-based National Committee on U.S.-China Relations

“I hope the new administration will remove the stumbling blocks to people-to-people exchanges, like harassing Chinese students, restricting Chinese media outlets, shutting down Confucius Institutes and suppressing Chinese companies. These policy measures are not only wrong but also unpopular,” Yang said.

“We in China hope that the United States will rise above the outdated mentality of zero-sum, major-power rivalry and work with China to keep the relationship on the right track,” he declared.

Yang added a warning that China’s crackdown on democracy in Hong Kong, its growing aggression toward Taiwan, its brutal occupation of Tibet, and its vicious oppression of the Uyghur Muslims in Xinjiang province are on the far side of a “red line that must not be crossed,” thus signaling total rejection of the human rights concerns expressed by the United States, other Western powers, and human rights groups.

“We in China hope that the U.S. side will fully understand the sensitivity of these issues and handle them with prudence, so as to avoid disruption or damage to mutual trust and cooperation,” he said.

Yang insisted that the ruling Communist Party has the “wholehearted support” of the Chinese people, contradicting the Trump administration’s portrayal of the Chinese as frightened captives of a harsh dictatorship.

The South China Morning Post described Yang as “the highest-ranking official so far to comment on the bilateral relationship since Biden’s inauguration nearly two weeks ago.”

“Yang’s message to the U.S. was consistent with a view in Beijing that the U.S.’s erratic policies were being driven by deepening fissures in American society, rather than its own policies. Chinese diplomats in recent weeks have repeatedly dismissed Trump’s actions as ‘madness,’ laying the blame for the deterioration in ties at Washington’s feet,” Bloomberg News observed.

Republicans Demand Hold on Biden Commerce Pick Over Huawei Concerns

Raimondo won’t commit to keeping Chinese tech giant on U.S. Entity List

Leading House Republicans are calling for a hold on the Biden administration’s nominee to lead the Commerce Department, citing her refusal to commit to keeping Chinese telecom giant Huawei on the U.S. Entity List as a result of its global spy operations.

Gina Raimondo, Rhode Island’s Democratic governor and President Joe Biden's commerce nominee, drew scrutiny earlier this month when she declined during her confirmation hearing to answer questions about how the administration will approach Huawei, the top Chinese telecom company that is suspected of helping the Communist Party spy on users across the world. Huawei was put on the Commerce Department’s Entity List in 2019, restricting its access to U.S. technology that could be used to fuel Beijing’s spy operations.

"The fact that the Biden administration has still refused to commit to keeping Huawei on the Department of Commerce’s Entity List is incredibly alarming and dangerous," a group of 21 lawmakers led by Rep. Michael McCaul (R., Texas) said in a Tuesday joint statement that called for a hold on Raimondo's Wednesday confirmation vote. "There have been repeated, bipartisan calls to keep Huawei on the Entity List in the past, with members on both sides of the aisle referring to the company as a national security threat."

White House press secretary Jen Psaki also declined on two separate occasions last week to say whether Huawei will remain on the Entity List, heightening concerns the Biden administration could drop the designation in a bid to appease China.

Three Republican senators—Marco Rubio (Fla.), Tom Cotton (Ark.), and Ben Sasse (Neb.)—demanded in a letter last week that Raimondo clarify her views on Huawei, hinting that they could put the nomination on hold if answers are not provided by the administration. Senate rules allow all members to place a hold on a vote for any reason. Senate Democrats, however, do not need any Republican votes to confirm Raimondo if her nomination comes to the floor.

The U.S. crackdown on Huawei garnered bipartisan support during the Trump administration, but it is unclear if Democrats will support a hold on a Biden nominee.  If Huawei is removed from the Entity List, it will once again be able to tap into sensitive U.S. technology, which remains a priority for the Communist government.

The representatives calling for a hold on the nomination—including Mike Rogers (R., Ala.), Mike Gallagher (R., Wis.), Joe Wilson (R., S.C.), and Steve Chabot (R., Ohio), among others—described the Huawei designation as a "threshold issue" for how Raimondo and the Biden Commerce Department will approach national security issues stemming from China’s public and private surveillance on citizens across the world. Huawei was identified by the U.S. Defense Department as having deep ties to China’s military. The company also has been accused of helping Beijing perpetuate crimes against its minority populations through surveillance and other tracking methods. Technology experts have also warned that Huawei products grant the Chinese government a so-called back door into any users’ devices.

"We urge those senators who have a history of calling for Huawei to remain on the Entity List to stick to their principles and place a hold on Ms. Raimondo’s confirmation until the Biden administration clarifies their intentions for Huawei and on export control policies for a country that is carrying out genocide and threatening our national security," the lawmakers said in a joint statement.

The 2020 National Defense Authorization Act, a massive defense spending bill that was passed with bipartisan backing, included a section meant to ensure Huawei is not removed from the Entity List until the executive branch deems it does not pose a national security threat.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R., Texas) has also expressed a willingness to place a hold on Raimondo’s nomination, telling the Washington Free Beacon through a spokesman that the senator was "deeply concerned by commerce secretary nominee Raimondo’s comments" and "all options remain on the table."

Tucker Carlson Delivers a Monologue So Damning That President Trump Shares It, Includes Explosive Hunter Biden News

Tucker Carlson has always been known for his hard-hitting monologues, sometimes stretching 20 minutes into his show. And while some hit closer to home than others, last night’s was so impactful that President Trump himself shared it.

It involves an explosive video that was eventually deleted from social media by China, and it exposes perhaps the most dangerous threat America faces.

If you watch the above clip, what you’ll see is a Beijing-based professor bragging about China’s ability to settle affairs with the United States in their favor. But it’s his admission that that’s only possible because the CCP has people placed he calls “old friends” in upper positions of power across the influence sectors in the country. He’s obviously talking about government inroads, but he also specifically mentions someone being the vice president at a major Wall Street firm. At another point, he notes an American woman who now has dual Chinese citizenship and lives part of the year in Beijing. Why that’s important is that the communist nation does not allow dual citizenship. You do the math on that.

Things got more damning, though. The professor goes on to talk specifically about President Trump and how he’s blown up China’s ability to control American interests and bend them in their favor. The trade war is specifically mentioned here, with it being noted that Wall Street “tried to help” but couldn’t do much because Trump held an adversarial position against the financial institutions in question. Unsurprisingly, we hear about how easy Barack Obama’s administration was to manipulate in comparison. The professor even brags about having so many people near the levers of power during that time, but they couldn’t “fix Trump” in his words.

That’s when things get really explosive, though. Carlson plays one final clip in which the professor, obviously relieved, says that now Joe Biden has been elected. That leads him to say that Trump has claimed Hunter Biden, Joe Biden’s son, ran some kind of “global foundation.” He then makes a stunning admission that yes, the Chinese are the ones who funded that and that there are many “deals” in all of it.

As Carlson quips, now you know exactly why we the mainstream media and social media immediately sought to quash the Hunter Biden story with such force. The Chinese have compromised so many people at the top, including in our media structure, that the story simply couldn’t be allowed to live despite it being true. And keep in mind, if there was ever a video like this targeting Eric Trump or another Trump family member, for example, it would be the lead story on every network for months as proof of foreign interference.

The segment ends with an assertion that Joe Biden has been compromised, and that’s exactly correct. There hasn’t been a more China-friendly politician in the last 30 years than Biden. With his probable swearing-in on the horizon, the communists are rejoicing. That should tell you just how big a mistake it was to let him anywhere near the presidency.

Senate Committees Drop New Report on Hunter Biden, Alarming Connections to China

Katie Pavlich

The Republican led Senate Finance and Homeland Security Committees published a new and lengthy report Tuesday evening further detailing national security concerns related to Hunter Biden's shady foreign dealings in China and Ukraine.

"The Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs (HSGAC) and the Senate Committee on Finance undertook this investigation into potential conflicts of interest, and the involvement of the Biden family in foreign business ventures while Joe Biden was vice president, following allegations that the Obama administration’s Ukraine policy could have been affected by Hunter Biden’s position on the board of Burisma, and that family members may have improperly sought to benefit from their relationship with the vice president," the report states.

The Committees found the relationship between the Biden family, through Hunter and former Vice President Joe Biden's brother James, is deeply connected to the Chinese Communist Party.

"Hunter Biden and Devon Archer engaged in numerous financial transactions with Chinese nationals who had deep connections to the Communist Chinese government. These Chinese nationals included Ye Jianming, founder of CEFC China Energy Co. Ltd (CEFC) and chairman of the board for its subsidiary, the China Energy Fund Committee (CE Fund). They also included Gongwen Dong, who was Ye Jianming’s associate and reportedly executed transactions for his companies. Ye’s connections to the Communist government are extensive and, as explained below, he has been previous affiliations with the People’s Liberation Army. Based on the information received by the Committees, Ye was also financially connected to Vice President Biden’s brother, James Biden. Thus, there exists a vast web of corporate connections and financial transactions between and among the Biden family and Chinese nationals," the report states. "Hunter Biden has extensive connections to Chinese businesses and Chinese foreign nationals that are linked to the Communist government. Those contacts bore financial fruit when his father was vice president and after he left office."

"The records acquired by the Committees show consistent, significant and extensive financial connections among and between Hunter Biden, James Biden, Sara Biden, Devon Archer, and Chinese nationals connected to the Communist regime and PLA as well as other foreign nationals with questionable backgrounds. These connections and the vast amount of money transferred among and between them don’t just raise conflicts of interest concerns, they raise criminal financial, counterintelligence and extortion concerns. The Committees will continue to evaluate the evidence in their possession," the report concludes.
