MUSLIMS - GLOBAL TERRORIST - The problem is not that a Syrian immigrant from the capital of ISIS had a gun. The problem was that a Syrian immigrant from the capital of ISIS was in Colorado and in America.

The gunman who allegedly opened fire in a Boulder, Colorado, grocery store on Monday has been identified as 21-year-old Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa by the New York Times.

Boulder Shooter is ISIS Sympathizer, Leftists Hardest Hit

Another opportunity to shore up their sagging “white terror threat” narrative is lost.

A man murdered ten people in a Boulder, Colorado supermarket Monday. No details were immediately released about the shooter, but Leftist “journalists,” working from a photo of the shooter, seized upon the shooting to shore up their sagging narrative of “white supremacist terrorism.” There was just one problem: the massacre was actually, after a four-year hiatus, a new incidence of Islamic jihad on American soil.

Even after the shooter’s name was revealed as Ahmad Al Issa (which is how he himself wrote it on his Facebook and Twitter accounts), establishment media reports continued to give his name as  “Alissa,” which of course is a common first name for women in the U.S., and thus gives the impression that he is an American non-Muslim. Were “journalists” trying to obscure the fact that he is a Muslim migrant ISIS sympathizer? Of course they were.

And that was after they had already decided that he was one of those “right-wing extremists” who are, according to DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, the “most lethal and persistent” threat the U.S. faces today. Julie DiCaro, a senior writer and editor at Deadspin, tweeted: “Extremely tired of people’s lives depending on whether a white man with an AR-15 is having a good day or not.” As of this writing on Tuesday afternoon, DiCaro has not taken down the tweet, as some media hacks are still, like a captain going down with his sinking ship, insisting that Al Issa is white. Prominent race baiter Tariq Nasheed tweeted: “White supremacists are trying their hardest to deflect from the fact the Boulder suspect is WHITE. Syrians in America are legally, politically & socially WHITE. Their white status is well documented in court cases Terms like ‘muslim’, ‘Arab’, ‘islamic’ doesn’t change whiteness.”

Of course Al Issa really is white, as he is an Arab Muslim migrant from Syria, and Arabs have been considered “white” ever since they began arriving in this country. Nasheed’s tweet, however, still pointed up the Left’s inconsistency and hypocrisy: up until this shooting, Leftists considered Arab Muslims to be “brown,” after the fashion of Linda Sarsour, who memorably identified as white until she put on a hijab and miraculously became a “person of color.” If the Boulder shooter had been a white non-Muslim American and his victims had been white Arab Muslims, Tariq Nasheed would be railing against the persecution of “brown” people in the United States.

But as it is, Nasheed is trying desperately to shore up a failing narrative. The reality is that Ahmad Al Issa is a deeply religious Muslim with pro-ISIS sympathies. He complained bitterly about “Islamophobia,” hated Donald Trump with passionate intensity, and had scouted out churches and Trump rallies as possible targets for his jihad massacre.

All this makes it abundantly clear that not only is Ahmad Al Issa not a “white supremacist,” but he is a living manifestation of the effects of Leftism in America today. After migrating from Syria as a child during the Obama administration, he, and many others like him, has been inundated with relentless propaganda about how he is a victim of a racist and “Islamophobic” society that will never give him a fair shake, and is institutionally determined to make sure he will never succeed. He has been told that Trump hated Muslims and that his followers were precisely the people who were keeping him down and denying him access to the privilege that they themselves enjoyed at the expense of the “brown” people they despised.

The Democratic Party has been stoking this kind of resentment and feeding it to young people in schools, colleges and universities for years. Ahmad Al Issa is a product of their indoctrination. That in itself may be one reason why Leftist “journalists” and professional agitators such as Tariq Nasheed are so intent on driving home the point that this was a “white” shooter acting out of the hatred that is intrinsic to American culture: to deflect attention away from the fact that he is not a product of American culture at all, but of the Left’s subculture of hatred and resentment. If we had a sane political environment in the country today, that is the hateful subculture the Justice Department would be concerned about. Instead, even as Antifa continues to make the Great Northwest into a radioactive wasteland, this hateful subculture isn’t even on the radar screen. And Ahmad Al Issa isn’t going to put it there.

Palestinian Media Watch, an Israeli watchdog group, recently determined the Palestinian government spent around 3.2 percent of its total 2020 budget, or $155 million, on the "pay-to-slay" program. Many of these payments were obscured by the PA, which funneled some $300 million to the PLO so that it could continue payment to terrorists in violation of U.S. law.

Muslim Soldiers Executing Their Christian Comrades

Muslim soldiers are killing their Christian comrades in arms — apparently because the latter, as "infidels," are already the enemy.  Most recently, in Nigeria, a Muslim colonel stole weapons from an armory and then blamed the twelve soldiers on duty for the theft.  Six of those twelve soldiers — all Christians — were then executed.  According to a lawyer acquainted with the case:

The [Nigerian] government of today detests Christianity[.] ... This administration is running on ethnic agenda against the Igbo [Christian] population[.] ... This has never been a practice in the Army. Things got changed the moment this present administration [of Muhammadu Buhari] came to power. Things are happening before that didn't happen. It's not only about these six soldiers[.] ... Even in the security forces, Christians are being targeted.

The Feb. 4 report elaborates:

Many Nigerians now believe the Army fights for Islam, not Nigeria[.] ... In the country's predominately Christian south, people call it 'Boko Haram's Army.' Muslims hold all the most important leadership positions. The Army's lack of action to protect Christians comes directly from its leaders in government[.] ... When troops go into areas controlled by radical Islamists to defend Nigerian Christians, the government orders them to retreat. Then, Islamist rebels shoot them in the back.

The phenomenon of Muslim military men murdering their Christian counterparts — and getting away with it — is hardly limited to Nigeria.  In 2018, for instance, Matthew Samir Habib, a 22-year-old Christian in Egypt's military was killed simply for being Christian.  He was the latest of about ten Christian soldiers in Egypt to be killed in separate incidents over the years by Muslim soldiers on account of their faith.

In virtually all of these cases, a similar pattern follows: despite all the evidence otherwise (such as physical bruises all over the bodies of the slain), military officials insist that — due to some sudden and inexplicable bout of depression — all these Christians supposedly committed "suicide."  Meanwhile the dead Christian soldiers' families and those closest to them insist their slain sons and brothers were happy and healthy, that they were observant Christians, and that there was evidence that they were being persecuted by their Muslim "brothers-in-arms" for their evident Christianity.

For example, in the aforementioned case of Matthew Habib, the murdered Christian was shot twice — and still authorities maintain it was suicide.  (Click here for several more examples of military authorities offering bizarre reasons for the deaths, all rejected by the victims' Christian families.)

Why these Christians are being killed is not difficult to comprehend.  For many Muslims in Egypt, Nigeria, and elsewhere, war is synonymous with jihad — and it doesn't do much for morale to have lowly infidels, who are themselves the prime targets of jihad, fighting alongside the practitioners of jihad.

These modern-day killings shed further light on a more theoretical — or rather theological — point.  One of the staples of the Islamic whitewashing industry is the claim that jizya — the extortion money subjugated Jews and Christians were and are required to pay (Koran 9:29) — actually "entitled them to Muslim protection from outside aggression and exempted them from military service," to quote Georgetown University's John Esposito.

By this widely held logic, Muslim invaders did not demand that the conquered non-Muslim populations ransom their lives with money — as virtually all Muslim jurists and historians explain it — but rather were kind enough to offer their infidel subjects "protection" and exemption from military service for a small fee.

However, and as the modern-day killings of Christian soldiers makes clear, Christians and Jews were "exempt" from military service not because they paid jizya tribute, but because, as conquered infidels, they themselves were the enemy and had to remain separate and subjugated — as Christian minorities in Muslim nations tend to till this day.  (As one example, requests to open or renovate churches are always met with mass violence and upheavals, often enabled if not instigated by local Muslim authorities: as infidels, Christians are not allowed to build or renovate temples of worship that openly challenge the teachings of Muhammad.)

Apologists like Esposito twist the facts around in another important way: while payment of jizya did indeed purchase "protection" (of a sort) for the conquered infidels, that protection was not against an outside hostile force, but against inside hostile forces — that is, Muslims themselves: sharia manuals make clear that failure to pay jizya made the lives of dhimmis forfeit.

Finally, and as if all the above was not enough, that the Koran itself requires conquered non-Muslims "to give the jizya willingly while they are humbled" (9:29) — or else — puts to rest any claim that payment of jizya was a mere business transaction justifying exemption from military but rather a ritual show of Islamic dominance over infidel subjects.

The gunman who allegedly opened fire in a Boulder, Colorado, grocery store on Monday has been identified as 21-year-old Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa by the New York Times.

The New York Post reports that Alissa was charged with “charged with 10 counts of first-degree murder” on Tuesday.

Boulder police chief Maris Harold noted that Alissa lived in Arvada, Colorado, and pointed out that his ten alleged victims were between the ages of 20 and 65 years of age.

NPR reports that the deceased included 51-year-old police officer Eric Talley, who had been with the Boulder Police Department since 2010.

The New York Daily News observed that police do not have a motive behind the Boulder attack. But Gov. Jarid Polis reacted by saying, “Today we saw the face of evil. I am grieving with my community and all Coloradans.”

Ten killed in mass shooting at Boulder, Colorado grocery store

Ten people, including three workers at the King Soopers grocery store in Boulder, Colorado, were killed Monday afternoon in the latest mass shooting to occur in the United States. The suspected shooter, 21-year-old Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa, was taken into police custody Monday following a brief shootout that left 51-year-old Boulder Police officer and father of seven, Eric Talley, dead.

Alissa is currently detained in a local hospital after suffering an apparent gunshot wound to the leg. He has been charged with 10 counts of first-degree murder.

The ages of the victims range from 20 to 65. King Soopers has confirmed that three of the deceased were employees: an aspiring pilot, 20-year-old Denny Stong; front-end manager Rikki Olds (25) and Special Olympics track and field and skiing participant Teri Leiker (51).

Nevin Stanisic (23), Tralona Bartkowiak (49), Suzanne Fountain (59), Kevin Mahoney (61), Lynn Murray (62) and Jody Waters (65) were also killed in the attack, which began shortly before 2:30 p.m. local time and ended with Alissa being led away in handcuffs just before 3:30 p.m.

Photos and video released from the scene show grocery store workers, hands on each other’s backs, helping to lead customers out of the store in single file lines, as hundreds of police and SWAT officers, along with drones, helicopters and armored vehicles, descend on the store. The market is less than two miles south of the University of Colorado at Boulder. None of the victims are believed to have been enrolled at the university.

The university, with an enrollment of over 33,000, is the social and economic center of Boulder. The city is relatively affluent, with a median income of $66,117. The median property value, at $645,600, is nearly triple the national average.

As a witness to the shooting, Ryan Borowksi, told CNN, “Boulder feels like a bubble, and that bubble burst. This feels like the safest place in America and I just nearly got killed for getting a soda and a bag of chips.”

The shooting comes one week after a 21-year-old Georgia man shot and killed eight people, including six women of Asian-American descent, at massage parlors in the Atlanta area, and five days after two workers were killed by a co-worker inside a Roundy’s grocery distribution center in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin.

The latest statistics from the Centers for Disease Control estimate that 111 people are killed every day in the US due to gun violence, with 39,707 people killed in 2019, a number that exceeds all other countries except Brazil.

As of yet, no information has surfaced that establishes a political motive, or points to links between Alissa and terrorist or extremist organizations. He appears to have been suffering from psychological distress, likely exacerbated by the pandemic.

Alissa resides in a suburb of Denver called Arvada, about 20 miles south of Boulder, sharing a residence with his brother and sister-in-law. Key details of his personal life, including whether he is employed or attending school, have not yet been made public.

He was enrolled at Arvada West High School from 2015 until he graduated in 2018. While in high school, he participated on the wrestling team, and on his Facebook profile he described himself as “Born in Syria 1999, came to the USA in 2002. I like wrestling and informational documentaries.”

On his Facebook page, Alissa posted videos of himself wrestling in high school and occasional posts about his Muslim faith. Like millions of other Facebook users, in November 2015 Alissa sympathized with victims of a series of ISIS-linked terrorist attacks. He changed his profile picture to the French flag in support of the victims of a mass terror attack in Paris.

In response to the far-right terrorist attack in April 2019 that targeted Christchurch, New Zealand mosques, Alissa shared a post that read: “The Muslims at the #christchurch mosque were not the victims of a single shooter, they were the victims of the entire Islamophobia industry that villified [sic] them.”

In interviews with investigators, members of Alissa’s family have stated that he may have been suffering from an undiagnosed mental illness. The Associated Press cited an unnamed official as revealing that Alissa’s family said he had complained of people following or chasing him.

In interviews with CNN and the Daily Beast, Alissa’s brother, Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa, said that beginning around 2014, Alissa said he felt like he was being followed and became increasingly paranoid. Alissa said his brother put tape over his laptop camera to prevent anyone from observing him.

“He always suspected someone was behind him, someone was chasing him,” Ali Alwi Alissa said. “We kept a close eye on him when he was in high school. He would say, ‘Someone is chasing me, someone is investigating me,’ and we’re like, ‘Come on man, there’s nothing…’ He was just closing into himself.”

In interviews with the press and the police, Alissa’s brother reiterated that “[It was] not at all a political statement, it’s mental illness.” He told the Daily Beast that his younger brother “used to get bullied a lot in high school, he was like an outgoing kid, but after he went to high school and got bullied a lot, he started becoming anti-social."

Court records obtained by a local Fox affiliate, KDVR in Boulder, show that Alissa was arrested in 2017 after he allegedly punched a classmate in the head. At the time, Alissa reportedly said that the victim “had made fun of him and called him racial names weeks earlier.” Alissa plead guilty to a charge of assault.

Witnesses and the police warrant indicate that the shootings began outside the grocery store and that Alissa was armed with a “black AR-15 style” rifle and possibly body armor. Footage taken at the scene of the shooting shows that multiple victims were shot in the parking lot. The victims, according to statements given to investigators, included an older man whom Alissa allegedly shot multiple times as he stood over him. He then made his way into the grocery store.

Court documents allege that Alissa had purchased a Ruger AR-556 pistol on March 16, six days before the shooting. The affidavit, which was unsealed Tuesday, indicates that his sister-in-law, whose name is redacted, saw Alissa “playing with a firearm she thought looked like a ‘machine gun’” in the days prior to the shooting. Police have indicated that they recovered a “rifle” and a semiautomatic handgun at the scene.

While mass shootings have long since become a grotesquely regular feature American life, and an acute expression of the deeply dysfunctional character of US capitalist society, the country’s social, political and economic contradictions have intensified after a year of the pandemic.

Colorado has been home to a disproportionate number of mass shootings since the 1990s. A 2019 analysis by the Denver Post revealed that Colorado had more mass shootings per capita than all but four states, and that the Denver metropolitan area has had more school shootings per capita since 1999 than any of the other 24 largest metropolitan areas in the US. Alissa himself was born three days before the 1999 Columbine massacre.

In ritualistic fashion, Democratic and Republican politicians have offered their “thoughts and prayers,” while spouting their respective party’s political positions in the “debate” between gun rights and gun control. The Democratic party is once again promoting the panacea of limited restrictions on guns—such as the closing of “loopholes,” expansion of background checks and a ban on assault weapons—while the Republicans curry favor with their far-right supporters by opposing any limitation on what they proclaim to be their “Second Amendment” right to bear arms.

No section of the political or media establishment dares seriously examine the underlying social and political conditions that have made the US the scene of over 100 mass shootings since 1999, costing thousands of lives. Issues such as ever widening social inequality, endless wars abroad and the militarization of the police at home, and a general attack on science and culture are not raised because they point to the bankruptcy of capitalism and its ruling elite.

In bumbling comments Tuesday, President Joe Biden rehashed the usual clichès while joining fellow Democrats in calling for more gun control measures. At a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on reducing gun violence, Chairman Dick Durbin of Illinois cited two pieces of legislation passed by the House in 2017 that would supposedly close “gaps” in the federal background check system.

The Republican response was made clear in the opening comments of the ranking Republican member of the committee, Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley. Grassley used the hearing to raise the bogeyman of “left-wing extremism,” absurdly linking the Boulder shooting with last year’s mass protests against police murder.

“Statistics show that the murder rate in 2020 increased most significantly in June when the rioters were on the march and policy makers forced police into retreat,” Grassley declared.

Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton, an advocate of martial law to crush left-wing protests, said the “simple” solution to gun violence was “support our police, enforce our laws and lock up criminals.”

Palestinians Funneled Hundreds of Millions to Terrorists, State Dept Report Reveals

Biden administration remains intent on restarting aid to Palestinians

The Biden administration privately confirmed to Congress last week that the Palestinian Authority has continued to use international aid money to reward terrorists but said the finding won't impact its plans to restart funding.

In a non-public State Department report obtained by the Washington Free Beacon, the administration said the Palestinians spent at least $151 million in 2019 on its "pay-to-slay" program, in which international aid dollars are spent to support imprisoned terrorists and their families. Financial statements further indicate that at least $191 million was spent on "deceased Palestinians referred to as ‘martyrs.’" Despite this practice, which violates U.S. law and prompted the Trump administration to freeze aid to the Palestinians, the "Biden-Harris Administration has made clear its intent to restart assistance to the Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza," according to the report.

It remains unclear how the Biden administration will restart American aid without violating a 2018 bipartisan law known as the Taylor Force Act, which prohibits the U.S. government from resuming Palestinian aid until the payments to terrorists are stopped. The latest report on the matter is likely to rankle pro-Israel lawmakers in Congress who see the payments as a gift to the Palestinian government as it continues to sponsor terrorism and foment anti-Israel hatred.

A spokesman for Sen. Ted Cruz (R., Texas), a primary backer of the Taylor Force Act and proponent of continuing the freeze of Palestinian aid, told the Free Beacon the Biden administration is currently planning to skirt American laws barring taxpayer dollars from reaching the Palestinian government.

"Congress correctly and overwhelmingly passed the Taylor Force Act to limit assistance to areas controlled by the Palestinian Authority, because the Palestinian Authority just shifts fungible resources to pay terrorists," the spokesman said. "Sen. Cruz is concerned that in the rush to elevate the Palestinians and downgrade the U.S.-Israel relationship, the Biden administration is looking for ways to circumvent the restrictions on American taxpayer dollars going to those areas in ways that will benefit the Palestinian Authority."

The State Department admitted it was "unable to certify" to Congress that the Palestinian Authority and Palestine Liberation Organization are complying with the Taylor Force Act, primarily because they have "not terminated payments for acts of terrorism to any individual, after being fairly tried, who has been imprisoned for such acts of terrorism and to any individual who died committing such acts of terrorism, including to a family member of such individuals," according to the report.

The Palestinian government continues to fund the "pay-to-slay" program, the State Department confirmed in the unclassified March 18 report. A classified version of the report with "additional information on the amount the PA is believed to have transferred to" terrorists during 2019 also was produced by the State Department. Those figures, which likely stand at more than $155 million in 2020 alone, could galvanize a bipartisan coalition of lawmakers to publicly oppose the Biden administration’s efforts to resume Palestinian aid.

Currently, "plans for [resuming] this assistance are being developed, and the resumption of assistance to the West Bank and Gaza, including any assistance for the PA using [fiscal year] 2020 funds, will be fully consistent with applicable requirements under U.S. law," the administration claims in the report without explaining exactly how it will legally execute that plan.

Another private State Department memo outlining the Biden administration’s efforts to increase diplomacy with the Palestinian government indicates that U.S. aid dollars will start flowing again at the end of March or early April, according to a copy of that memo recently leaked in the press.

In addition to paying terrorists and their families, the State Department determined the Palestinian government has "not taken proactive steps to counter incitement to violence against Israel." Thus, the U.S. government also could not certify for Congress that the PA has made good on repeated promises to end incitement and recommit to peace negotiations.

The report highlights contradictory statements by PA president Mahmoud Abbas made throughout 2020 promising to pursue peace and also continue terror operations against Israel. Moreover, "incitement to violence and glorification of terrorism occur in public statements and social media posts by PA officials and politicians, in official media broadcasts and social media outlets, and in school textbooks," according to the report.

Palestinian Media Watch, an Israeli watchdog group, recently determined the Palestinian government spent around 3.2 percent of its total 2020 budget, or $155 million, on the "pay-to-slay" program. Many of these payments were obscured by the PA, which funneled some $300 million to the PLO so that it could continue payment to terrorists in violation of U.S. law.

A Muslim Terrorist From the Capital of ISIS Shot Up a Supermarket. Biden Blames Guns

Biden ended Trump’s Muslim ban claiming it “undermined our national security.”

Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the Freedom Center, is an investigative journalist and writer focusing on the radical Left and Islamic terrorism.

Two years ago, Ahmad Al-Issa shared a post titled, “Why refugees and immigrants are good for America.” On Monday, the Syrian Muslim immigrant shot up a supermarket killing ten Americans.

Biden declared that he was "still waiting for more information regarding the shooter, his motive, the weapons he used. The guns, the magazines, the weapons, the modifications that have apparently taken place to those weapons that are involved here."

Why do the modifications to the Syrian immigrant's weapons matter more than his motive?

Obama joined in, demanding that it is, “long past time for those with the power to fight this epidemic of gun violence to do so.”

Guns don’t kill people. Muslim terrorists do.

Ahmad Al-Issa spent much of his time in America accusing his classmates and everyone around him of being ‘Islamophobes’. He repeatedly got into furious confrontations with the Americans whom he claimed were disrespecting his Islamic religion.

The media is spinning this as a mental illness, but if hating non-Muslims is a mental illness, then it’s a common one in his home country.

While Ahmad Al-Issa came to America at a young age with his family, the Al-Issa clan originated from Raqqa. The name of the Syrian city may not mean much to most Americans, but it was the former capital of the Caliphate of the Islamic State.

Or ISIS.

And that was after it had been previously taken over by the Al Nusra Front, linked to Al Qaeda, and by Ahrar al-Sham, which had coordinated with ISIS. Multiple Jihadist units and groups used the name ‘Raqqa’ to symbolize their determination to stake a claim to the Syrian city and region.

Raqqa has a sizable Sunni Islamist base even beyond ISIS.

While Al-Issa grew up in America, his family would have likely maintained an extensive network of family connections with Raqqa. Family members insist that Ahmad Al-Issa was not a radical, but he was clearly a committed Muslim and his Facebook page, since taken down, is filled with Islamic content, and with attacks on President Trump and on America over ‘Islamophobia’.

Colorado took in a sizable number of migrants with multiple charities, religious and secular, springing up to help the alleged refugees. And once again Americans are reeling from a terror attack because Democrats and some Republicans refuse to secure our immigration system.

There were plenty of warnings that Ahmad Al-Issa’s hatred for America and obsession with Islamophobia could turn violent. In 2017, he assaulted a fellow student claiming that he had made fun of his identity. The Syrian immigrant got off with a misdemeanor, probation, and community service. Just imagine if the system had done its job and locked him up instead.

The angry outbursts and claims of Islamophobia are now being spun as mental illness.

But the most obvious explanation for why a Syrian Muslim immigrant whose family comes from the capital of ISIS would shoot up an American supermarket isn’t mental illness.

Nor is the solution gun control.

Democrats and the media had attacked President Trump for suspending the migration of Syrians into America. When Biden overturned the suspension, the media cheered.

“Beyond contravening our values, these Executive Orders and Proclamations have undermined our national security," Biden had falsely declared.

The bodies of ten dead Americans show what national security with terror migration looks like.

In 2016, Judge Posner had prevented Governor Pence from blocking Syrian refugees. Posner bizarrely claimed that Pence's attempt to protect Americans from Islamic terrorists was the equivalent of forbidding "black people to settle in Indiana."

The Trump administration’s moves would not have stopped the Al-Issa clan from coming here in 2002, but it would have prevented future terrorists from taking more American lives.

Biden and the Democrats responded to the King Sooper shootings by preaching “common sense gun control”. But their gun control has yet to work in Chicago or New York. Meanwhile what Americans need isn’t fewer guns, but fewer immigrant and refugee terrorists.

The tragedy of the Al-Issa family arriving here in 2002, after September 11, is a case study in the obstinate refusal of our political elites to reckon with even the worst terror attacks.

President George W. Bush had postponed the Presidential Determination for the number of refugees imported into America because of the September 11 attacks. But he nevertheless went ahead and issued it in November 2001 which allocated 70,000 refugee slots.

And, insanely, boosted the Near East/South Asia category from 10,000 to 15,000 which had been set at 4,000 under Clinton. In 2001, some 3,000 had already been referred to through Syria, Jordan and Turkey. These numbers may sound technical, but they show the terrible policy decisions that led directly to the brutal murder of ten Americans in an ordinary supermarket.

The American victims of Ahmad Al-Issa's rampage included grandparents and employees, an actress, and a police officer who charged the Muslim shooter and paid for it with his life.

Colorado Democrats clamor that this shooting didn’t have to happen. They’re right, but not because of gun control. It didn’t have to happen if we just reformed our immigration system.

Ahmad Al-Issa grew up in America and hated every minute of it. He hated his host country, his classmates and his peers. Over the years, his hatred grew until it consumed him. Then it consumed in his victims in a murderous rampage aimed at non-Muslim Coloradans.

In 2019, Al-Issa had fashionably tweeted, #istandwithrefugees. It's the sort of thing that many in Boulder, in Colorado, and across America have irresponsibly tweeted.

And it’s a hashtag that kills.

Bush’s decision to let in the Al-Issa family after September 11 killed ten Americans. It was a tragic decision that he might not have seen buried in the numbers. But it happened anyway.

There’s really no excuse for it today after two decades of continuous Islamic terrorism.

Every day that we keep our border open, that we welcome in more migrants from terror states, we are pointing a loaded gun at our own heads and pulling the trigger. Most of the time the chamber is empty, but every now and then, the immigration gun fires and people die.

Biden and the Democrats would like to talk about Al-Issa’s weapon modifications after opening the border to gang members and terrorists. They want to push restrictions on Americans owning guns, instead of restrictions on their own resettlement agencies bringing in terrorists.

The problem is not that a Syrian immigrant from the capital of ISIS had a gun. The problem was that a Syrian immigrant from the capital of ISIS was in Colorado and in America.

The authorities and the media will go on lying to Americans. They will blame mental illness, as they do with every Muslim terrorist, and depict Al-Issa as the victim of Islamophobic bigots. The Democrats will turn the killer into the victim and his victims into the perpetrators as they have done so many times. They will tell us that Islam is a religion of peace, and that Al-Issa’s religion and his family origins in the capital of the ISIS Caliphate should be ignored.

And even in the midst of so many burning issues, we must not give up the fight on this one.

There are hard, cold truths about Islamic terrorism that decades after September 11 we seem to be no closer to understanding than Bush was in November 2001.

We can stand with the terror refugees killing us. Or we can stand with their American victims.

The Boulder Jihad and Jihad Denial

Why U.S. authorities and the establishment media are trying to obscure who Ahmad Al Issa is and what he believes.

Editors’ note: As we witness U.S. authorities and the establishment media trying to de-Islamize the Jihad in Boulder and to obscure the fact that the Jihadist perpetrator, Ahmad Al Issa, is a Muslim migrant ISIS sympathizer, a vital question confronts us: why does the Left consistently engage in Jihad Denial? Why is it so invested in denying the Islamic roots of Islamic Jihad?

This is, without doubt, one of the most pertinent questions of our time, especially now with the Boulder Jihad -- and its tragic victims -- hovering right before our very eyes. Frontpage Mag editors have therefore deemed it vital to run, below, an excerpt from Jamie Glazov’s book, Jihadist Psychopath: How He is Charming, Seducing, and Devouring Us. The excerpt, which is part of the introduction to the book, details the Left's standard practice of trying to hide and camouflage the true sources of Islamic terror. This documentation equips us with the understanding of why Jihadists like Ahmad Al Issa are able to sow the destruction that they do today -- and so easily. It also sets the foundation for our insight into why exactly the Left practices Jihad Denial -- and what all the specious ingredients of that denial entail. These facts will all be unveiled in several published segments of Jihadist Psychopath in our forthcoming issues of Frontpage Mag.

At approximately 3:05pm on Halloween afternoon, Oct. 31, 2017, 29-year old Sayfullo Saipov drove a rented truck onto a Manhattan bike path and slammed into nearly two dozen cyclists and pedestrians. He then crashed into a school bus and emerged from the vehicle wielding a paintball gun and a pellet gun. He screamed “Allahu Akbar” throughout the whole ordeal and succeeded in murdering eight people and wounding fifteen -- until an NYPD officer shot and wounded him, dropping him to the ground.[i]

Saipov was a married Muslim father of three who had come to the United States from Uzbekistan seven years earlier on a “diversity visa lottery” program, a system that allows foreigners into the country, not through their merit, but through random games of chance.[ii]

The evidence was overwhelmingly clear that this Uzbekistani immigrant was engaging in Islamic Jihad during his massacre on that Halloween afternoon in Manhattan. Indeed, he was already known to law enforcement “for his direct ties to other terrorism suspects under investigation,” and the FBI quickly tracked down a second Muslim in connection with his attack. [iii] Saipov had also left a note behind in the truck, stating that the Islamic State "would endure forever” and that “There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is his prophet.”[iv] His cellphones contained thousands of Islamic State-related images, including about 90 videos depicting Islamic State fighters killing prisoners by running them over with a tank, beheading them, and shooting them in the face.[v]

When he was recovering in the hospital, Saipov requested that the Islamic State’s flag be displayed in his room. He waived his Miranda rights and gloated about what he had done, acknowledging that he had acted in response to the Islamic State’s online calls to Muslims to attack non-Muslims. He also boasted that he chose to carry out his rampage on Halloween, so as to maximize the body count.[vi]

Saipov was a resident of Paterson, New Jersey, an area known to the locals as ‘Paterstine’ for its sizable Islamic community, where the PLO terror flag flies over City Hall and where Islamic terrorist sympathizers celebrated after their compatriots murdered thousands on 9/11.[vii] Saipov’s 23-year-old wife, Nozima Odilova, wore a niqab, a Muslim garment that reveals only the eyes. The Muslim couple had two girls (ages 6 and 4) and a six-month old baby boy. A neighbor observed that “The girls didn’t have friends. There were no parties.’’[viii]             Notwithstanding all of the empirical evidence pointing to the Islamic nature of Saipov’s Halloween massacre, the establishment media, New York’s leaders and America’s higher culture just couldn’t seem to a find a motive in it all. Saipov’s shouts of “Allahu Akbar” throughout his terror attack, for instance, were quickly explained away by Zainab Chaudry, a member of the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), who informed the New York Daily News that the Arabic term simply meant “God is greatest” and that Muslims use that term in a variety of contexts, and not only while they are murdering infidels.

The New York Times was also most happy to assure Americans that Saipov’s “Allahu Akbar” pronouncements had absolutely no connection to his crime. The paper tweeted that although the phrase had “somehow become inextricably intertwined with terrorism,” “its real meaning is far more innocent.”[ix] CNN’s Jake Tapper jumped forward to explain all of that innocence, noting that “Allahu Akbar” meant that “God is great” and that it was “sometimes said under the most beautiful of circumstances.”[x]

During these curious developments, the leaders and authorities in New York joined the peculiar chorus. The governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo (D), stepped forward to assure everyone that Saipov was just a “lone actor,” that there was “no evidence to suggest a wider plot or wider scheme” and that there was, therefore, no “ongoing threat or any additional threat.”[xi] The mayor of New York City, Bill de Blasio, was of a similar mind, announcing that what had happened in Manhattan was very un-Islamic. "The last thing we should do,” he pleaded with his constituents, “is start casting dispersions on whole races of people or whole religions or whole nations. That only makes the situation worse."[xii]

New York Deputy Police Commissioner John Miller was also on the same page, announcing that what Saipov had perpetrated “isn’t about Islam” and “isn’t about the mosque he attends.”[xiii] Even H.R. McMaster, President Trump’s national security adviser, got into the mix, affirming that Saipov should be classified as a “mass murderer,” a statement that clearly implied that the Jihadist was not motivated to carry out his crime by a religious conviction.[xiv]

In this bizarre atmosphere of denial, Muslims were depicted as the victims of it all. And the establishment media went the extra yard to drive that particular theme home. The Press Herald led the way, titling its main article on the terror attack: “In aftermath of bike path killings, mosques near NYC face hostility again.”[xv] The story featured Dr. Mohammad Qatanani, an imam at a mosque in Paterson, NJ, voicing his concern that, after Saipov’s murder spree, Muslims in the area would now feel “blamed as a religion and as a people." The article also highlighted the views of a Muslim interviewee named Abu Mohammed, who blamed Saipov’s massacre on the policies of the United States. [xvi]

The New Yorker made sure to help out with the whole narrative, running a piece that focused on how Muslims and Islam were the real victims of Saipov’s act. The story featured Annie Thoms, an English teacher at Stuyvesant High School in Lower Manhattan, who was very worried about Islam being maligned and about the feelings of her Muslim students. “Especially after 9/11,” she said in the article,

every time I see that something is a terrorist incident, and someone has said   ‘Allahu Akhbar,’ I feel a pit in my stomach, because terrorism is the evil opposite of what Islam is. So many of our kids here at Stuyvesant are Muslim, and they fear being tarred with this kind of thing.[xvii]

It was probably Isaac Stone Fish, a former Newsweek correspondent who was on sabbatical from the magazine Foreign Policy, who best encapsulated the establishment media’s view of the Manhattan massacre. Seemingly unable to grasp what all the fuss was about, he tweeeted, “The most Trumpian thing most people do is overreact to a small terrorist attack.”[xviii]

Even the U.S. court system couldn’t seem to find a speck of Islam in Saipov’s Islamic act. When a federal grand jury returned a 22-count indictment against the Jihadist, it treated him as though he were a mafia member, charging him with murder “in aid of racketeering” -- a charge that federal prosecutors typically use in organized crime cases. The message rang out loud and clear: Saipov had nothing to do with a religion or with an ideological movement. [xix]

Despite all of this denial about Saipov and his terrorist act, the truth nonetheless stared everyone in the face: Saipov was a devout Muslim and was clearly devoted to ISIS and to his prophet Mohammed. The fairy-tale of “Allahu Akbar” that Zainab Chaudry, the New York Times and Jake Tapper tried to foist on Americans couldn’t erase one undeniable fact: that the Arabic phrase is a declaration of Islamic superiority and supremacism. Those who understand Arabic are well aware that the phrase does not mean “God is great,” but “Allah is greater” -- because Allah is greater than the other gods of other religions and that is why Islam’s followers, like Sayfullo Saipov, are commanded to subjugate and/or kill them.[xx]

What Chaudry, the New York Times and Tapper also failed to tell their audiences was that the actual origin of “Allahu Akbar” lies with the Prophet Mohammed himself, who shouted the phrase upon destroying the Jews of Khaybar in the year 628. [xxi] When Jihadists shout those words, therefore, they are emulating their prophet and declaring Allah’s superiority by killing non-Muslims.[xxii] This is why the last words heard on the flight recorder of United Airlines Flight 93, the domestic passenger flight that was hijacked and driven into the ground by four Al-Qaeda terrorists on 9/11, were “Allahu Akbar.”[xxiii] It is also why Mohamed Atta, ringmaster of the 9/11 plot, advised his fellow hijackers to shout that phrase, since, as he explained, “this strikes fear in the hearts of the unbelievers.”[xxiv]

Thus, when the New York Times tweeted its confusion about why “Allahu Akbar” had somehow become “inextricably intertwined with terrorism,” the paper revealed its breathtaking ignorance regarding the millions of Muslims who have screamed that phrase over the centuries in the process of murdering millions of unbelievers.[xxv]

When Tapper stated that “Allahu Akbar” is “sometimes said under the most beautiful of circumstances,” he was partially right, but he failed to explain the context, which, as Cheryl K. Chumley of the Washington Times has accurately noted, is that “Heil Hitler” was also said in circumstances that many Nazis perceived as “beautiful.”[xxvi]

The statements of New York’s leaders also left much to be desired. In terms of New York governor Cuomo’s assurance that Saipov was just a “lone actor” and that there was no “wider plot,” one couldn’t help but wonder: upon what evidence had Cuomo based his assessment? How did his assurance square, exactly, with the fact that law enforcement knew of Saipov’s direct ties to other terrorism suspects under investigationand that the FBI had tracked down a second Muslim in connection with Saipov’s attack? How was Cuomo’s assurance consistent with all of Saipov’s other ISIS connections and with his personal declarations? How did it fit with the fact that in June 2017, the Islamic State published a poster depicting an SUV driving over a heap of skulls and bearing the legend “Run Over Them Without Mercy”? How could Saipov have possibly been a “lone actor” if he was a foot soldier for ISISand ISIS had issued a directive to Muslims to engage in vehicular jihad? [xxvii] And how could there have been no “wider plot” if Saipov’s vehicular jihad mirrored many other terror attacks, from the vehicular Jihadist attacks in Barcelona to France to the UK?[xxviii]

No one asked Cuomo these questions directly, so he did not have to answer them. Nor was Mayor de Blasio taken to account on his warning against “casting dispersions” [sic] on whole religions. Neither was New York Deputy Police Commissioner John Miller called out personally on his contention that Saipov’s attack wasn’t about Islam or about Saipov’s mosque. But de Blasio and Miller had left one very pertinent question unanswered: what if Saipov’s religion and his mosque’s teachings actually had inspired him to wage terror against unbelievers?

In terms of the court that treated Saipov as though he were in the mafia, one matter remained extremely disturbing: Saipov was not, in fact, in the mafia. He was a soldier of Islam and of the Islamic State. As leading scholar of Islam, Robert Spencer, noted on this issue:

The Islamic State is not a mafia family, and jihad mass murder is not racketeering. This is a war, and the New York City truck jihad massacre was one battle in that war. Yet authorities continue to prosecute these jihadis as if they were a series of criminals committing separate and discrete criminal acts that are unrelated to one another.[xxix]

In the end, one of the most troubling aspects about Saipov’s Halloween massacre was that it could have easily been prevented. But it wasn’t prevented precisely because of the attitudes exhibited by the Chaudrys, de Blasios, Tappers and all of their other ideological comrades. Indeed, the evidence surfaced that the NYPD had actually suspected Saipov’s mosque of terror ties over a decade before the massacre, and that it had kept the mosque under surveillance for a number of years. But all of that stopped because an individual by the name of Linda Sarsour, the notorious Palestinian-American political “activist” who was one of the organizers of the 2017 Women's March, considered the NYPD’s surveillance of the mosque to be discriminatory. With the help of the ACLU and other pro-terror groups, she waged a campaign to stop this surveillanceand Mayor de Blasio complied, terminating the NYPD’s capacity for investigating all mosques and Islamic radicalization.[xxx] This dire development resulted in eight dead in Manhattan.

What had inspired de Blasio to make his decision about the NYPD was, of course, very clear, just as it was very clear what Sarsour and the New York Times were expecting him to say about Saipov. And that is exactly why they so approvingly embraced his announcement. It was the message that has been sanctioned by our society’s elites; the message that is now the only one allowed to be spoken or heard. And that message is that Islamic terrorism has absolutely nothing to do with Islam. What Saipov had done on that Halloween afternoon in Manhattan, therefore, also had nothing to do with the Religion of Peace -- even if Saipov himself thought it did.

De Blasio’s, Cuomo’s and Miller’s message was just the latest in a long and consistent narrative of messages that had been emanating from American leadership, media and popular culture long before Saipov plowed a truck into innocent civilians on a Manhattan bike path. Its hackneyed theme had been heard after every single Islamic terror attack on American soil, from Fort Hood in 2010 to the Boston Marathon Massacre in 2014, and from San Bernardino in 2015 to Orlando in 2016. And that theme was that no matter how proudly and unambiguously Jihadists point to Islam to justify and explain the mayhem and violence that they perpetrate, their pronouncements are never to be taken seriously. Rather, it is other factors, the ones connected to racism, unemployment and climate change, that, we are told, are actually the main causes of the terrorists’ actions.

As we stand back and examine this picture, it becomes painfully evident that something very wrong is transpiring right before our eyes in the terror war. Some kind of “pressure” is in the air -- a pressure that ensures that after every jihadist attack, we call the attack everything but what it actually is. We are to ascribe many different motives to the perpetrators, except the very motives that they themselves have candidly identified. Indeed, we have been given a template of mantras to repeat each time, with just a few blanks to be filled in for each new attack, so that the different set of names, times and places fit accordingly.

Accompanying the “pressure in the air” are several articles of faith that we are expected to dutifully embrace. The Party Line is unmistakable: first, when Jihad strikes, we have to accept that the guilty party is us. We are expected to believe that it is America and the West that are responsible. That’s right: the devil made them do it. Second, and perhaps most importantly, we have to embrace the sacred rule that it is Muslims that are the real victims. Any deviation from this perspective is now considered tantamount to a hatred of all Muslims in general. In other words, you are an awful and bad person if you fail to embrace every single tenet that the “pressure in the air” instructs you to believe about terrorism.

What we have here is a situation in which any desire to protect the West from the terrorist enemy is now categorized as a hatred of an entire group of people. It is also labelled “racist” -- even though Jihad is not a race and its Muslim practitioners come in all shapes, colors and ethnicities. And no matter how illogical and erroneous this line of thinking may be, it now prevails as the only permitted narrative in our cultural and official discourse.

Consequently, we have a disaster facing us. And that disaster, in a nutshell, is this: a totalitarian and expansionist ideology called Islamic supremacism is waging a deadly war on the West. It is a war that Islamic supremacists have openly proclaimed and shouted from the rooftops. They have made it abundantly clear as to why they are waging this war, why they hate us so much, and why they are so determined to destroy our way of life. But standing up to this ideology and protecting ourselves from those who heed its call is now, as noted above, considered hateful, racist and, of course, “Islamophobic.” And since most people’s most dreaded fear in our leftist and politically correct culture is to be called a racist, our civilization’s will and ability to defend itself has been severely disabled. What we have, in essence, is our surrender to Islamic supremacism.

The “pressure in the air” can take credit for this surrender. And it has done its job extremely well. This “pressure” has been created, of course, by a pernicious and treacherous entity: the Unholy Alliance, that sinister pact between Islamic supremacism and the Left that seeks to destroy the democratic-capitalist West and every liberty that comes with it. As empirical reality reveals, and as author David Horowitz has meticulously documented in his book Unholy Alliance and on his website DiscovertheNetworks.org, leftist and Islamic supremacist totalitarians are working feverishly together to destroy America and the West.[xxxi]

It is transparently clear who our enemies are today, and there is no mystery about the agendas they are pursuing. But tragically, the Unholy Alliance controls our culture, which is why it has succeeded in creating the “pressure in the air” that is now so effectively sealing so many eyes and lips and, in turn, allowing the enemy to encroach with so much ease.

This book is dedicated to unveiling the causes and elements of this tragic catastrophe. It will reveal Islamic supremacism’s assault on our society and the Left’s complicity in that assault. In so doing, it will expose the Left’s inner nature, its method of regulating our thoughts and language, and the treacherous manner in which it empowers our deadly foes. The work will also crystallize how Jihad Denial, which manifested itself so blatantly and disturbingly in the Saipov Halloween massacre, plays a key role in the Left’s agenda – and in our own suicide.

Our story will be told in a completely original and unprecedented context, unambiguously laying bare the fact that Islamic supremacy is rooted in psychopathy. To make this case, we will document how a psychopath behaves, and then demonstrate how Islamic supremacism’s behavior is classically psychopathic. As a result, this work will make manifestly clear that our psychopathic enemy is doing what a psychopath does best: charm, seduce and devour his prey -- all while playing the role of the victim. We will be able to see that Islamic supremacism is subjugating the West in exactly the same way that psychopaths subjugate their victims. In turn, we will also see that the manner in which we are surrendering is exactly the manner in which victims surrender to psychopaths. And thus, the Jihadist Psychopath will be unveiled for the first time for all to see.

In demonstrating this thesis, this book will reveal the powerful temptation in human nature to accept a pernicious lie like Jihad Denial, showing how and why humans desperately cling to its subliminal and comforting assurances that a safe and ordered world is possible, if only we will turn a blind eye to the very forces that seek to annihilate us. In illuminating this human need to delude oneself in the face of a dire threat, this work will make clear what the psychopath’s conquering of his prey is really all about.

The pages ahead will focus primarily on the battle taking place in America, which is reflective of what is happening in the rest of the world, especially in Western Europe, where the battle is now almost totally lost. There are, of course, still many brave people left in Europe who want to save their freedoms and are valiantly rising up and fighting back, but they face a colossal uphill battle.

And so we embark on dissecting and crystallizing the threat of the Jihadist Psychopath and the process by which, with the willing aid of his leftist minions, he is charming, seducing and devouring us. It is a harrowing tale which, this author prays, lovers of freedom will heed with gravity, taking every lesson and warning to heart.

For there is not much time.

'Christians and Jews Are Infidels and Cursed by Allah'

The horrific persecution Christians experienced under Islam in just one month, February, 2021.

Raymond Ibrahim is a Shillman Fellow at the David Horowitz Freedom Center.  This report was originally published by the Gatestone Institute.

The following are among the abuses inflicted on Christians by Muslims throughout the month of February, 2021:

 Attacks on Converts to Christianity

Uganda:  A Muslim husband splashed acid onto his wife after suspecting she had converted.  After he witnessed a Christian couple praying with his wife, and in “the middle of the prayers, my husband walked out and began calling Muslims and mentioning that infidels were at his house,” Janati Kyoleka, a 25-year-old mother of three—aged 5, 2, and 5 months—who had secretly converted in December, explained in a Feb. 26 report:

When my friends saw the Muslims approaching the homestead, they took off….  My husband began questioning me whether I had embraced Christianity.  I kept quiet. He started beating me with sticks, and my 5-month-old began crying, and before the arrival of the neighbors, my husband had already poured acid on me, and I lost all consciousness.

She regained consciousness in a hospital bed.  Acid burns covered the right side of her body, from breast to thigh, including genitalia. “I know my marriage with my husband is over,” Kyoleka reflected, adding, “I am grateful to God that my children are with me.”  A local church couple have since taken her and her children in:  “The responsibility of taking care of Kyoleka and her three children is not easy, but God will give us sufficient grace and providence,” said a member of the Christian family.

Iran:  Four converts to Christianity that were arrested on the charge of “acting against national security by forming a house Church,” were sentenced to a combined total of 35 years in prison. By forming and meeting in a house church, they were further accused of “widespread association with missionary groups, as well as evangelical Christian groups outside the country.”  According to the Feb. 3 report, “Judge Moghiseh – who has earned the nickname the ‘Judge of Death’ for his harsh treatment of prisoners of conscience – reportedly spoke ‘obscenely’ to the Christians and would not listen to their defence, only citing the report of the intelligence agent.” Apparently deeming his sentencing too lenient, the “Judge of Death” further informed the Christian prisoners of conscience that “your actions are worthy of death.”

Malta:  A Muslim man stabbed a former Muslim who converted to Christianity in an attempt to kill the apostate and please Allah.  Simar Halil Hannan, 26, apparently with the help of an accomplice, stabbed Lamir Mohmmad, 29, in the neck.  The men are originally from Syria.  During the court hearing, testimony was offered that “In Syria there was a practice whereby if they kill an apostate, they are assured passage to Heaven in the afterlife.” Although prosecution insisted that his client “was now living in terror of the men,” which “led to a heated exchange with the court,” according to the Feb. 12 report, the accused were granted bail.

Somaliland: On Jan. 25, a Christian couple and their newborn baby were arrested.  On the next day, police searched and seized from their home recriminating evidence of Christianity.  Promoting any religion other than Islam is banned in Somaliland.  On that same day, they arrested Aster, an Ethiopian (and therefore likely Christian) woman that had been living with them. On Jan. 31, they were presented before a judge who informed them that they “are suspected of spreading Christianity.”  The prosecutor has 45 days from the date of arrest to complete his investigation and gather evidence, at which point they will be judged.  As last reported, they remain incarcerated and denied access to their lawyer.  This story is not without precedent: a few months earlier, on Oct. 5, 2020, a Somaliland police colonel announced that a husband and wife were also arrested for being “apostates and evangelists spreading Christianity.” Police reportedly entered the couple’s house after being alerted by “suspicious activities.” On finding Christian materials inside their home, police apprehended and hauled away the couple, who have three children. During the same conference, the police colonel repeated that “whoever dares to spread Christianity in this region should be fully aware that they won’t escape the hand of the law enforcement officers and that the spread of Christianity will not be allowed and is considered blasphemy.” He also encouraged citizens to report on those they suspected of being Christian, which may explain how this latest couple was outed as Christians.

Attacks on Christian “Blasphemers”

Pakistan:  Haroon Ayub and Salamat Mansha, two Christian men, both aged around 26, were arrested and are being charged with blasphemy—which carries the death penalty—because Muslims lied and told police that they were proselytizing, including by saying that the Muslim prophet Muhammad had “strayed” from the truth and other words that amounted to  “acts of terrorism.” On Feb. 13, the day of the incident, a group of Muslims came across the two Christians reading the Bible in a park.  The Muslims began questioning the two, including by asking them for any Christian literature that might help them understand their religion. The Christians gave them a booklet titled “Water of Life,” and the Muslims left.  Haroon then returned home, while Mansha stayed in the park. “A few minutes later,” and to quote from their defense lawyer,

the Muslim youths returned to the spot where Mansha was present and attacked him, claiming that he and Haroon had blasphemed against their prophet.  They also summoned the park’s security and lied to them that the two Christians were evangelizing to Muslims in the park and had used derogatory words for the Koran and the prophet [Muhammad]….  Mansha was taken into custody from the spot, while we have managed to obtain pre-arrest bail for Haroon Masih till Feb. 24.  Haroon and Mansha were not preaching to the Muslims as alleged in First Information Report [FIR] No. 61/21. In fact, they were reading the Bible and discussing it amongst themselves when a group of Muslim boys, including Ahmed [who filed the police complaint], overheard them and objected to their Bible study.

Algeria: A 43-year-old married Christian father of four was sentenced to five years in prison for reposting a cartoon of Muhammad, the prophet of Islam on his Facebook account—three years ago, in 2018.  To his surprise, on Jan. 20 of this year, authorities appeared at his door concerning the said cartoon; they ordered him to appear at court, which he did on the following day. According to the Feb. 1 report, “After questioning him about a caricature of Muhammad recorded on his Facebook account with a screenshot by agents from Algeria’s cybercrime unit in 2018, the prosecutor requested he be punished with five years in prison under Article 144 of the penal code against insulting Muhammad.”  The judge complied, sentencing him to five years imprisonment and the payment of a 100,000 dinars fine (equivalent to about USD 750).  “It is a tragedy for us and for his family,” local Pastor Seighir said: “When a member of the Body of Christ is sick, the whole body feels the pain. Brother Hamid was naive in accepting this cartoon on his Facebook account. That this story goes back three years and only now it’s resurfacing – it’s hard to digest.”  The pastor added that the accused’s wife and four children—aged 6, 4, 3, and 3 months—are especially “dejected and dismayed, especially since one of the children is seriously ill.”  Article 144 bis of the Algerian penal code finds guilty,

Whoever insults Prophet Mohammed (Peace Be Upon Him) or the rest of the prophets, or ridiculed the basics of the religion or any of the Islamic rituals either in writing, drawing, expression or any other method. The General Prosecution shall initiate the litigation procedures spontaneously.

In 2016 and 2017, two other Christians were respectively sentenced to prison for blaspheming against Muhammad.

Attacks on Churches

Kenya: According to a Feb. 3 report, Muslims torched five separate churches between Jan. 20 and Jan. 24.  “A majority of the church members were afraid to attend services [in or near the ruins] in the aftermath of the burning of the churches, fearing that the arsonists might follow them right into their homes, risking the lives of their families,” a local source said.  As occurred when vandals in France used human excrement to draw a cross on the Notre-Dame des Enfants Church in 2019, so these Kenyan arsonists also “committed the heinous acts of scooping human feces onto the buildings,” the source added.

Sudan: The ninth church to be torched in Muslim-majority Sudan in two years occurred, according to a Feb. 17 report.  Before it was set aflame, local Muslims shed light as to why they attack churches: “In every city or village where Muslims live, they should not allow anything that belongs to infidels such as church buildings to be there,” one Muslim wrote on social media; another insisted that, wherever Muslims allow the existence of a church, that place becomes “disgraced.”  In short, and in the words of the Rev. Kuwa Shamal, of the Sudanese Church of Christ, “They targeted the church because they do not want to see any sign of the cross in the area.”

Authorities also apprehended, beat, and threatened a Christian leader because he spoke out against the burning of this latest church.  On Feb. 14, masked men believed to be national security personnel seized Osama Saeed Kodi, chairman of the Christian Youth Union, handcuffed and blindfolded him. “We will kill you if you continue with Christian activities in Tambul,” he was warned before being released. “I have been brutally beaten by national security personnel on my chest and on my right leg,” Kodi later said. “I am still in pain as a result of this beating. I thank all those who stood with me during the detention. I shall continue to defend the right of the church despite all these obstacles.”

Nigeria:  Suspected Muslim arsonists set Holy Family Catholic Church ablaze on Sunday, Feb. 21.  According to a report from that same day, on learning that “armed bandits” were approaching their village, Christian locals fled.  On finding no one to victimize, “the armed bandits set ablaze the place of worship and the two houses.” Another report is less sparing on the possible identity and motive of the arsonists:

While the gunmen in this particular incident remain unknown, Kaduna State has experienced countless attacks at the hands of Islamic terrorist groups, led by Fulani militants and Boko Haram. Christian communities are targeted, and thousands of believers have been kidnapped, tortured and killed with nowhere to turn for safety. While the government denies religious motives behind these attacks, the frequent burning of churches and targeting of believers shows that a hatred of Christianity plays a key role in violence throughout the Middle Belt.

Algeria: Although all mosques were given permission to reopen on Feb. 15, churches were denied the same greenlight.  According to a press release from the Prime Minister’s office, “all mosques on the national territory are opened, in strict compliance with health measures and protocols for the prevention and protection against the spread of the Coronavirus, in particular the preventive support system put in place for mosques.”  As one report, notes, however,

Churches were notably omitted from the press release, despite the fact that the same social distancing and health protocols could apply to churches, just the same as mosques.  Churches in Algeria were already facing pressure prior to the pandemic as nine churches were closed in 2019. None of the 2019 closed churches were reopened, primarily due to the claim that they were unregistered or unregulated by the state. Now, new health regulations indicate that churches may continue to be disadvantaged and so far have not been awarded the same benefits as other religious buildings of worship.

Sexual Assaults on and Forced Conversion of Christian Women

Bangladesh:  Two Muslims brutally raped a married Christian mother.  On the evening of Feb. 5, the 43-year-old woman was at home alone (her husband worked nights and her son was studying at a distant school).  Two men broke in and attacked her.  According to the woman,

With their faces covered, they looked like thieves, but instead they wanted sex and started beating me up.  As I tried to disentangle myself, I recognised Mohammed Alam’s face [a neighbor]. They kept beating me; I was scared and helpless. I asked for some water and they gave me a glass mixed with a sleeping pill that made me unconscious for three days.

When her husband returned home from work on “the next morning he found the door open and his wife on the floor, undressed and unconscious.”  He proceeded to file a complaint at the local police station against his neighbor, Mohammad Alam, and his accomplice.  Mohammad was arrested, though his friend remains on the run. “Alam thought that since we were very weak Christians we would not raise our voices,” his victim explained.  Her husband said that, although their Muslim neighbors initially “showed their solidarity and denounced the attack,” once he filed the complaint, all these same “local Muslims sided with Alam, claiming he could not have done it…  His brothers also offered me money to withdraw the complaint, but I told them that I want punishment for the attackers.”

Pakistan:  After Arooj Karamat, a 23-year-old Christian girl applied for the position of math instructor in a school adjacent to a mosque in Islamabad, the Muslims around her began to harass and insult her—to the point of threatening her with rape and death if she did not convert to Islam.  Initially Arooj’s female Muslim colleagues began to discuss religion around her; she assiduously refused to respond, even when they made comments “about Christianity [that] were hateful and derogatory.”  Before long, those same teachers began to pressure her to convert to Islam.  In a Feb. 16 interview, Arooj gave her story, which culminated with a violent abduction attempt.  After explaining how she did not want to take the job, as it was so close to a mosque, the 23-year-old explained (grammar slightly adjusted for readability):

I started facing religious criticism from my co-workers who talked bad about Christianity. There were three female teachers and one male teacher; he taught Quran (religious studies) to students. One day on July 20, 2020 that man named Muhammad Abdul Basit offered me to convert to Islam and be a Muslim if I want to go to heaven and if I want to live a peaceful life; he was a kind of extremist person, he belongs to some religious group who spread Islam… I refused to accept Islam; then he started cursing me, speaking bad things about Christianity and then threatening me that he will rape me and kill me for denying Islam.

She quit that same day, told her family everything, and her father and younger brother always stayed near her whenever they ventured outdoors.  Four days later, the family was out shopping. When Arooj and her mother stepped out of the store, and as they were walking towards the waiting male members of the family, they passed by a mosque.  From it, Muhammad Abdul Basit came running out; at the same time, a big pickup truck pulled up behind the Christian women. Arooj continues:

[F]our men with black turbans on the head and white gowns with long beard came out with guns and a rope in their hands; they covered us from all sides; I  started screaming for help and they pushed away my mother and one of them  hit my mother with a gun and broke her arm; others were grabbing my arms and legs while Muhammad Abdul Basit was trying to tie my hands with rope and forcing me towards car; I was shouting for help and my mother was laying on road injured, screaming and shouting for help; people on the road gathered around us  to see what is going on and my brother and father also came there to see what was happening; when they saw us they both fought with them to protect us; my brother and father grabbed my legs and arms out of the car; then those men beat my father and brother—they beat my father so bad and injured him badly while Muhammad Abdul Basit was hitting me with slaps on my head and face, and those four men took out big guns and loaded them; they were about to shoot me but the public had gathered by them; it was a big crowd there so they could not shoot me at that time  and went away but were  threatening us loudly that they will come back to kill me.

Nigeria: Based on the diary of Naomi Adamu—one of the many school girls abducted by Islamic militants of Boko Haram in 2014 to much international attention (before it was revealed that they were overwhelmingly Christian)—some of what they went through is becoming known.  According to a Feb. 20 report,

Adamu wrote on the days when it was safe, after compulsory lessons on the Qur’an and foraging for meagre rations from the forest.  The small act of rebellion gave her strength. When her Boko Haram minders told her she would be killed if she did not convert, marry a fighter and bear his children, she refused and was beaten with the butt of a rifle…  [She and others who refused to comply] were condemned to backbreaking labour as ‘slaves.’ ….   ‘I became the leader of our girls because I was the eldest among them and I was the most stubborn. Boko Haram wanted me to convert as an example because they knew the other girls listened to me – they beat me and bullied me and threatened to kill me, but I told them even if the heaven and earth come together I will not marry.’ … Soon, some of the hostages were openly insubordinate, refusing orders and being beaten repeatedly. They began quietly singing hymns when their guards were distracted. Then the singing got louder.  A small group of the most defiant students was separated. Adamu, their leader, was dubbed ‘the chief infidel’ by furious Boko Haram leaders. ‘When they realised we don’t wear hijab like the other girls they beat us and said they would cut off our heads. They made us wear hijab and pray but we decided together to fake the ceremony. We mouthed Christian prayers and told each other the story of Job,’ said Adamu.  Once again the students were told they would be killed if they did not submit and convert. Again the small group of rebels refused. ‘At a certain point we had seen so many bodies, we were no longer afraid to die.’

Slaughter of Christians

Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC): On Sunday, Feb. 14—St. Valentine’s Day—Islamic terrorists of the Allied Democratic Forces killed 13 civilians in the Christian majority nation, and burnt down a Catholic church during a raid.  Three soldiers and four terrorists were also killed in the subsequent firefight.  The Allied Democratic Forces, which is connected to the Islamic State, killed about 850 people in 2020.  Discussing this and other attacks on DRC’s Christians, Illia Djadi, a human rights activist acquainted with the region, said that

These predominantly Christian communities are attacked by an Islamic extremist group with a clear Islamic expansionist agenda.  We need to pay attention to these events because what is happening in eastern DRC, the killing of innocent civilians on an almost daily basis, is an underreported tragedy.

Nigeria: A Muslim colonel stole weapons from an armory and then blamed the 12 soldiers on duty of the theft.  Six of those 12 soldiers—all Christians—were then executed on Jan. 25.  According to lawyer Emeka Umeagbalasi,

The government of today detests Christianity…  This administration is running on ethnic agenda against the Igbo [Christian] population….  This has never been a practice in the Army. Things got changed the moment this present administration [of Muhammadu Buhari] came to power.  Things are happening before that didn’t happen. It’s not only about these six soldiers….  Nigeria is becoming like Somalia and Rwanda. That was exactly how it started, with the government taking sides and backing the members of a particular ethnic group. That’s the situation. Even in the security forces, Christians are being targeted.

The Feb. 4 report elaborates,

Many Nigerians now believe the Army fights for Islam, not Nigeria…  In the country’s predominately Christian south, people call it ‘Boko Haram’s Army.’ Muslims hold all the most important leadership positions.  The Army’s lack of action to protect Christians comes directly from its leaders in government… When troops go into areas controlled by radical Islamists to defend Nigerian Christians, the government orders them to retreat. Then, Islamist rebels shoot them in the back.

As for those Christians killed “illegally” by Muslim terrorists in Nigeria, some of the more notable follow:

  • On 17, in Niger state, Islamic gunmen attacked a boarding school for boys and killed a Christian student; 42 others were abducted and subsequently released.
  • On 16, Fulani herdsmen shot dead Mati Sani, a 65-year-old elder of the Evangelical Church Winning All; three other Christians were abducted during the same raid.
  • On 14, Muslim herdsmen shot and killed four Christians, all members of the Evangelical Church Winning All.
  • On 7, Muslim Fulani herdsmen killed another church elder and four other Christians.
  • On 2, Fulani herdsmen ambushed and killed two Christians traveling on a road.

Generic Attacks on Christians

Indonesia:  On Feb. 8, authorities publicly flogged two Christian men for drinking alcohol and gambling in Aceh, which enforces Islamic law, or Sharia.  A masked man administered 40 lashes with a stick on each of their backs.

Ghana: An armed gang attacked an all-night Christian prayer service around 2 am on Feb. 6.  Three Christians—one only 2-years-old—were injured after one of the assailants opened fire; the rest of the congregation fled and hid.  “All three victims sustained minor gunshot wounds on their legs,” one of the congregants added.  Discussing this incident, another report offers context:

Ghana has historically been a safe country for Christians, with over 70 percent of the population claiming to follow Christ. While Muslims and Christians have generally lived peacefully amongst each other, fears of religious tensions have increased, especially towards the northern Burkina Faso boarder. Though it is unclear if this attack was religiously motivated or just a random act of crime, attacks on churches is a bad sign for the freedom of religion in a region where Islamic radicalism and attacks on Christians is growing rapidly.

Sudan: According to a Feb. 22 report, on the day that the only Christian program on Sudanese television first aired, outraged Muslims urged authorities to remove it. “Christians and Jews are not only infidels, but they are cursed by Allah,” Muzemil Fakhiri, a popular imam complained in an online video:  “Now Sudan TV is openly broadcasting infidel programs instead of playing Islamic programs.  Yes, Christians are infidels!”
