In his piece for the National Interest,
Todd Bensman explains that President
Biden's deal to bolster troop
deployments on Mexico's southern
border will not ease the mounting
mass-immigration crisis if the
administration continues to reward
illegal entry into the United States. By
eliminating the Trump turn-back
policies and granting most family units
and unaccompanied teenagers legal
permission to stay, Biden is
encouraging a determined and growing
wave of people to break the Mexican
cordon. Short of reinstitution of
deterrence-based policies by the
United States, the Mexican operation
will do nothing new to staunch the
inexorable tide of humanity. |
