New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) sexually harassed multiple current and former state government employees, state Attorney General Letitia James (D) announced Tuesday after a five-month-long investigation.

But before officials began investigating the governor, then-presidential candidate Joe Biden lavished Cuomo with praise, saying he would make a fine world leader.

“I think Governor Cuomo is capable of being president. I think he’s a great guy,” Biden said during a CNN interview on April 16, 2020:

Just a few days before, Biden also joined the clamoring establishment media in praising Cuomo for his handling of the Chinese coronavirus pandemic. Cuomo was subsequently accused of hiding thousands of nursing home deaths, though the Department of Justice (DOJ) under now-President Biden declined to investigate the claims.

“Your governor of New York has done one hell of a job. I think he’s sort of the gold standard,” Biden remarked on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on April 1, 2020:

The sexual harassment investigation found that the governor specifically “sexually harassed current and former New York State employees by engaging in unwelcome and nonconsensual touching and making numerous offensive comments of a suggestive and sexual nature that created a hostile work environment for women.”

The investigators, the attorney general continued, independently “corroborated and substantiated” the facts through interviews, evidence, including contemporaneous notes and communications, which will be made available to the public. The probe included interviews with 179 people and over 74,000 pieces of evidence.

“These interviews and pieces of evidence revealed a deeply disturbing yet clear picture: Governor Cuomo sexually harassed current and former state employees, federal and state laws,” James continued. “The independent investigation found that Governor Cuomo sexually harassed multiple women, many of whom were young women.”

The harassment included “unwanted groping, kisses, hugging, and by making inappropriate comments.” The investigation also revealed that, on at least one occasion, Cuomo and his senior team actively worked to retaliate against a former employee after she stepped forward.

After Joe Biden became president, he said during a television interview with George Stephanopoulos in March 2021, that Cuomo should resign if sexual harassment allegations turn out to be true.

ABC News reported:

“I know you said you want the investigation to continue,” Stephanopoulos told Biden, referring to a probe by New York’s attorney general into allegations Cuomo had harassed several women. “If the investigation confirms the claims of the women, should he resign?”

“Yes,” the president replied. “I think he’ll probably end up being prosecuted, too.”

At a press conference on Tuesday after James’ announcement, Cuomo maintained his innocence.

“I never touched anyone inappropriately or made inappropriate sexual advances. … That is just not who I am or who I have ever been,” Cuomo said.

NEW YORK (AP) — An investigation into New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo found that he sexually harassed multiple current and former state government employees, state Attorney General Letitia James announced Tuesday.

The nearly five-month investigation, conducted by two outside lawyers who spoke to 179 people, found that the Cuomo administration was a “hostile work environment” and that it was “rife with fear and intimidation.”

People interviewed included complainants, current and former members of the executive chamber, State troopers, additional state employees and others who interacted regularly with the governor.

“These interviews and pieces of evidence revealed a deeply disturbing yet clear picture: Gov. Cuomo sexually harassed current and former state employees, federal and state laws,” James said at a press conference on Tuesday.

On at least one occasion, the investigation found, Cuomo and his senior staff worked to retaliate against a former employee who accused him of wrongdoing. Cuomo was also found to have harassed women outside of government, the investigation found.

James said the investigation wouldn’t have been possible without the “heroic women who came forward.”

Cuomo faced multiple allegations last winter that he inappropriately touched and sexually harassed women who worked with him or who he met at public events. One aide in his office said he groped her breast.

Another, Lindsey Boylan, said Cuomo kissed her on the lips after a meeting in his office and “would go out of his way to touch me on my lower back, arms and legs.”

After Boylan first made her allegations public in December, the Cuomo administration undercut her story by releasing personnel memos to media outlets revealing that Boylan resigned after she was confronted about complaints she belittled and yelled at her staff.

Boylan has said those records “were leaked to the media in an effort to smear me.”

Other aides have said that the Democratic governor asked them unwelcome personal questions about sex and dating. One former aide, Charlotte Bennett, said Cuomo asked if she was open to sex with an older man.

Last winter there was a chorus of calls for Cuomo’s resignation from many top elected Democrats in New York, including two U.S. senators, Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand. But Cuomo refused to quit and has been raising money for a fourth term in office.

His position on the allegations has also hardened into one of defiance. Cuomo has always denied touching anyone inappropriately, but he initially said he was sorry if his behavior with women was “misinterpreted as unwanted flirtation.” In recent months, he’s taken a more combative tack, saying he did nothing wrong and questioning the motives of accusers and critics.

He has also questioned the neutrality of the lawyers hired by the attorney general to investigate the allegations. One of the attorneys, Joon Kim, was involved in previous investigations of corruption by people in Cuomo’s administration when he was a federal prosecutor in Manhattan. Cuomo hasn’t expressly said why he believes that would make Kim biased.

The attorney general’s report is expected to play an important role in an ongoing inquiry in the state Assembly into whether there are grounds for Cuomo to be impeached.

The Assembly hired its own legal team to investigate Cuomo’s conduct, plus other allegations of wrongdoing. The legislature is looking into the help Cuomo got from senior aides to write a book about the pandemic, special access that Cuomo relatives got to COVID-19 testing last year, and the administration’s decision to withhold some data on nursing home deaths from the public for several months.

Some members of the judiciary committee have said they expect James’ report to be “critical” for the impeachment investigation.

New York state regulations say sexual harassment includes unwelcome conduct of a sexual nature — from unwanted flirtation to sexual jokes — that creates an offensive work environment, regardless of a perpetrator’s intent.

The governor, in contrast, has repeatedly argued that he did not intend to harass anyone. His office has said he took the state’s mandated sexual harassment training, but has not provided any documentation proving he did.

Cuomo championed a landmark 2019 state law that made it easier for sexual harassment victims to prove their case in court. Alleged victims no longer have to meet the high bar of proving sexual harassment is “severe and pervasive.”

Cuomo Called for ‘Zero Tolerance Policy’ for Sexual Harassment Years Before Investigation Determined He Sexually Harassed Women

Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D), who “sexually harassed current and former state employees, violating both federal and state law,” as announced by Attorney General Letitia James (D), once called for a stringent “zero tolerance” policy when it comes to sexual harassment.

“There should be a zero tolerance policy when it comes to sexual harassment & must send a clear message that this behavior is not tolerated,” Cuomo declared in May 2013:

Years later, an investigation determined that Cuomo “sexually harassed multiple women and in doing so violated federal and state law,” the state attorney general announced Tuesday.

The investigation, which began in March, found that the governor, specifically, “sexually harassed current and former New York State employees by engaging in unwelcome and nonconsensual touching and making numerous offensive comments of a suggestive and sexual nature that created a hostile work environment for women.” Harassment included “unwanted groping, kisses, hugging, and by making inappropriate comments,” according to the state attorney general.

On victim included a State Trooper assigned to protect him, whom the investigation found he harassed on a number of occasions, reportedly “running his hand across her stomach from her belly button to her right hip, while she held a door open for him at an event.” The investigation also found him accused of running his finger down her back, kissing her on the cheek, and making “sexually suggestive and gender-based comments.”

James added Cuomo’s administration “fostered a toxic workplace that enabled harassment and created a hostile work environment where staffers did not feel comfortable coming forward with complaints about sexual harassment due to a climate of fear.”

Cuomo continued to deny allegations of sexual assault throughout the year, only apologizing if his actions were misinterpreted. But ultimately, the Democrat governor said of James’ inquiry months ago, “The report can’t say anything different, because I didn’t do anything wrong.”

Republicans and Progressives Call for New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo to Resign

Republicans and progressives called upon New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo to resign on Tuesday, after New York Attorney General Letitia James concluded that the governor had sexually harassed multiple women and violated state and federal law.

The investigation found that Cuomo “sexually harassed current and former New York State employees by engaging in unwelcome and nonconsensual touching and making numerous offensive comments of a suggestive and sexual nature that created a hostile work environment for women.”

James said investigators corroborated and substantiated allegations through interviews, evidence, including contemporaneous notes and communications, which will be made available to the public.

Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel called on Cuomo to resign. GOP Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik (NY) called for Cuomo to be “arrested immediately.”:

From her personal account, Stefanik said Cuomo’s staff should be also held responsible:

Cuomo must RESIGN. Cuomo must be ARRESTED. Cuomo staff must be PROSECUTED. THE GOVERNOR’S CRIMINAL ENTERPRISE IN NEW YORK MUST END IMMEDIATELY.

James said the decision to resign would be ultimately up to Cuomo himself.

“The report speaks for itself. And right now, I think we should all be focused on [the] bravery of the women who came forward,” she said:

President Joe Biden (D) had said during an ABC News interview in March that Cuomo should resign if the sexual harassment investigation into him confirmed the women’s claims. “Yes,” Biden said at the time. “I think he’d probably end up being prosecuted too.”:

A loud chorus of Democrats and progressives joined Republicans in calling on Cuomo to resign.

Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) tweeted Tuesday after the news: “Time for Governor Cuomo to resign. There is no excuse, time is up.”:

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) told reporters that she found James’s report “deeply, deeply disturbing,” adding, “I do believe he should resign.”:

Local Democrat politicians also called for Cuomo to step down.

New York State Sen. Alessandra Biaggi, chair of the Ethics and Internal Governance Committee, said if Cuomo does not resign, she will call on the state assembly to move to impeach him immediately:

New York City Council Member Brad Lander and Democrat nominee for NYC Comptroller tweeted, “Governor Cuomo should have resigned in March. He should resign now. If he does not, he should be impeached. If he is not, he should be defeated at the polls.”:

NYC Council Member Jimmy Van Bramer, chairman of the Cultural Affairs & Libraries Committee, also called for Cuomo to resign or be impeached:

Zephyr Teachout, who ran against Cuomo in 2014 and lost, tweeted, “If Andrew Cuomo doesn’t resign immediately, he should be impeached immediately. New York can’t function and provide the basic services of government with a dishonest, lawbreaking, toxic Governor.”:

Maya Wiley, who ran for New York City mayor, also called on Cuomo to resign:

The progressive New York Working Families Party also demanded he resign or be “removed” from office:

A smattering of progressive pundits and media figures also called for not only Cuomo to resign, but his brother, CNN anchor Chris Cuomo, who informally advised the governor on how to survive the sexual harassment allegations:

The Albany County district attorney’s office acknowledged Tuesday that it is criminally investigating Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) hours after a probe by New York’s attorney general alleged that the governor sexually harassed multiple women.

“Along with the public, today we have been made aware of the final independent report from AG Letitia James’ office regarding Governor Cuomo’s conduct as they relate to violations of civil harassment statutes. We will be formally requesting investigative materials obtained by the AG’s Office, and we welcome any victim to contact our office with additional information,” Albany DA David Soares said in a statement. “As this matter is developing and we are reviewing the document released by the Attorney General toward, we will refrain from any additional public comment at this time regarding the status of the ongoing criminal investigation of our office.”

Earlier Tuesday, James released the findings of her nearly five-month investigation, which accused Cuomo of sexually harassing multiple women and overseeing an office with a “hostile work environment” that is “rife with fear and intimidation.”

“Specifically, the investigation found that Gov. Andrew Cuomo sexually harassed current and former New York State employees by engaging in unwelcome and nonconsensual touching and making numerous offensive comments of a suggestive sexual nature, that created a hostile work environment for women,” James said at a press conference.

Hours later, Cuomo denied allegations of sexual misconduct laid out in a report by James, signalling that he has no plans to resign.

“I never touched anyone inappropriately, or made inappropriate sexual advances,” Cuomo said in a pre-recorded video, which included an eyebrow raising montage of photos of the governor hugging and kissing constituents and lawmakers over the years. “I am 63-years-old. I lived my entire adult life in public view. That is just not who I am and that is now who I have ever been. It’s important to me that you fully understand that.”

“I do kiss people on the forehead. I do kiss people on the cheek. I do kiss people on the hand. I do embrace people. I do hug people. Men and women,” the governor continued. “I do on occasion say ‘Ciao Bella.’ On occasion, I slip and say ‘sweetheart’ or ‘darling’ or ‘honey.’”

“My job is not about me. My job is about you. What matters to me at the end of the day is getting the most done I can for you. And that is what I do every day. And I will not be distracted from that job,” he added.

According to investigators, CNN’s Chris ‘Fredo” Cuomo was heavily involved in drafting a denial that basically dismissed Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s (D-NY) multiple accusers as liars and cranks.

“Do not overlook the Cuomo report appendix,” tweeted New York Times national political reporter Shane Goldmacher, “which includes Charlotte Bennett’s texts about her Cuomo interactions and this email from Chris Cuomo appearing to draft a statement for his brother.”

If you look at the screen-capped email above, which is from February of this year, it looks as though Chris Cuomo submitted a draft statement to Andrew’s crisis team that would paint Andrew’s accusers as hysterics who are either lying or over-blowing their sexual misconduct allegations.

What’s more, if you look at the eventual statement, Andrew released (see below) a few days later, there’s no question the submitted draft — apparently from Chris — was used. Here’s a side-by-side comparison:

“It appears as though Chris Cuomo helped craft Gov. Cuomo’s Feb. 28 statement responding to the Bennett allegations,” tweeted political reporter Alex Weprin.

It sure does.

It also appears, at least according to investigators, that throughout much of the worst of last year’s pandemic, when Fredo and CNNLOL were lionizing Brother Andrew on Chris’s show night after night as America’s Great and Noble Coronavirus Governor —  you know, to laugh it up and talk about what an amazing job Andrew’s doing — Andrew was not only harassing multiple women, he was also retaliating against them.

Oh, and he was flooding New York nursing homes with the deadly coronavirus.

Oh, and he offered his friends and family members concierge coronavirus testing while everyday New Yorkers ran around desperate for tests.

Oh, and Chris was one of those who received the concierge testing.

Oh, and Chris was also running around outside without a mask in New York while knowing he was contagious with the coronavirus.

And they’re all going to get away with it. CNNLOL, Fredo, and Andrew will all get away with it because when you are a Democrat and a leftist and a left-wing propaganda outlet, you get away with everything.

AG Report: CNN's Chris Cuomo Received Confidential NY State Intel About Brother's Accusers

CNN host Chris Cuomo was given confidential and privileged information by the New York state Executive Chamber as his brother, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) was facing several sexual harassment allegations, Attorney General Letitia James’ report discovered.

Investigators wrote in the report that it was “revealing” that the governor sought guidance from Chris Cuomo and others not employed by the state on his response to the accusations that have since been found to be true.

"None of them was officially retained in any capacity by the Executive Chamber or any of the individuals involved," the report reads.

"Nonetheless, they were regularly provided with confidential and often privileged information about state operations and helped make decisions that impacted State business and employees—all without any formal role, duty, or obligation to the State," it continues.

Chris Cuomo also took part in handling his brother's response to allegations by either writing or editing statements for the governor. This occurred amid the CNN anchor denying involvement in his brother's response.

"Questions have been raised about some of my past interactions with people in the office. I spend most of my life at work and colleagues are often also personal friends. I never intended to offend anyone or cause any harm," the proposed statement for Gov. Cuomo reads.

"Sometimes I am playful and make jokes. You have seen me do it at briefings hundreds of times. My only desire is to add some levity and banter to what is a very serious business," it continues. "I now understand that my interactions may have been insensitive or too personal and that some of my comments, given my position, made others feel in way I never intended. I’m sorry and feel deeply embarrassed about that."

In May, Chris Cuomo was found to have advised his brother on how to handle the sexual harassment scandal but has since apologized.
