MANCHESTER New Hampshire — Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) warned in an interview with Breitbart News that illegal aliens are committing “murder” and “rape” because President Joe Biden “won’t enforce the law and secure our border.”

“We see stories time and time again of illegal aliens committing murder or rape or carjacking people who shouldn’t be in our country to begin with. But they’re here because the Biden administration won’t enforce the law on secure our border,” Cotton began during an exclusive interview with Breitbart News while in New Hampshire to raise money for the granite state Republican Party.

“I know we may be in New Hampshire here, but every town in New Hampshire is a border town, because so much of the drugs that you see in New Hampshire and across the country comes from our southern border,” Cotton said.

Cotton asserted the “lion share” of drugs fueling the opioid crisis come from China by way of the Mexican-American border.
“The evidence on that is clear,” he began. “China has super case laboratories where they make the precursors to synthetic opioids like fentanyl. They send them [drugs] to the cartels in Mexico which finished the job by pressing them into pills or cutting them into other drugs, and they ship them into America.”

“Our boarder patrol does a good job of trying to detect these drugs, which in some cases are literally shipped over in the quantity that they could kill every American. They’re so deadly. And just such a small amount is captured at our border, but that’s just what they catch, think about what they miss. That’s one reason why we just saw the terrible tragedy of the biggest number of drug overdoses in American history last year.”

Cotton also advocated for getting “control of our border” by “finish[ing] building the wall… to enforce our laws” while not “letting illegal immigrants” inside the United States.

“We also need to get control of our legal immigration system at a time when we still have millions of Americans still out at work,” Cotton continued, “We shouldn’t be increasing the number of legal immigrants we have to come here and compete against Americans for those jobs.”

Cotton also outlined a proposal to fix the legal immigration system, which would be based on a “simple mathematical formula that awards points based on your level of education, the field you have, your education, and your ability to speak English, whether or not you have distinctive contributions in your field,” Cotton explained, adding that Canada has implemented a similar plan.

Cotton denied that states protecting the border, a duty the Constitution outlines as a federal responsibility, is leading to a secession movement away from the union.

“No, I don’t, but I do think that when it comes to things like immigration, it’s much more helpful to have a federal approach,” Cotton directly answered. “But the federal approach has to be based on common sense about protecting our border and protecting our people from the illegal aliens and the crime and the drugs that come across our border.”

Cotton additionally commented on a recent court ruling from a federal judge in Texas that said former President Barack Obama violated federal statute when he unilaterally implemented the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

“I totally agree with the ruling; the judge is right,” Cotton said.

“The case is… about whether the President can rewrite laws that Congress has passed, and that’s what Barack Obama tried to do in 2012… The president cannot simply say he is not gonna enforce an entire category of our laws, so the case was rightly decided. There should be no more DACA permits issued period,” Cotton said. “And what Congress should do is address these problems in a targeted way, but what the Democrats won’t do, it’s just that they want to use the people who have received the docket benefits as leverage to get a massive amnesty.”

“Even when President Trump proposed a step that would give those recipients legal status in return for things like eliminating chain migration, finishing the wall, eliminating the diversity lottery, the Democrats said no, because they want a massive amnesty. That’s what they’re trying to do right now, and in their big budget blow out, they wanna slip in amnesty there, they’re gonna claim it’s just for a few very sympathetic DACA recipients.”

Exclusive – Mike Pompeo Rips Biden Immigration Policy: ‘Of Course It’s a National Security Problem’

FRANKLIN, Tennessee — Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo ripped the immigration policy of the Biden administration in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News in Franklin, Tennessee, on Saturday.

Pompeo criticized the Biden administration’s announcement it will increase the number of refugees allowed to legally enter the country by more than 600 percent in its first full fiscal year, FY 2022, compared to the Trump administration’s last full fiscal year, FY 2020.

The former Secretary of State also blasted the Biden administration’s failures on the southern border, which has permitted the entry of more than one million illegal aliens into the United States since President Joe Biden’s inauguration on January 20 of this year.

Breitbart News asked, “In the last full fiscal year of the Obama administration, 80,000 refugees were allowed to enter into the United States, some from hotbeds of terrorism, like Syria, Sudan, and Yemen. Your last full fiscal year, it was down to something like 18,000, with no refugees from these hotbeds of terrorism. Now, under the Biden administration, this next fiscal year, 125,000 refugees will be allowed to enter the United States. There’s no indication the Biden administration will prevent refugees from these hotbeds of terrorism from entering the United States legally as refugees. Is that a national security problem?”

“Of course it’s a national security problem, in the same way that the transit of people across our borders who are coming here unlawfully is a national security problem,” Pompeo said.

“We were very clear. America’s always a generous place. We welcome those who have real problems and want to come to America and are under threat, under our asylum laws. We’re the most generous nation in the history of the world with respect to asylum, but we need to secure America and America’s borders, and we need to make sure we know who’s coming across, and the numbers that are coming across,” he continued.

“As we sit here today, the numbers that are coming across, both unlawfully and formally through our asylum and refugee programs, are staggering, and I am very concerned that they are not sufficiently vetted in a way that can protect the American people from the threats that they may pose,” Pompeo added.

Breitbart News also asked about China and the coming Winter Olympics in that country.

“Why should the United States boycott the upcoming Winter Olympics in China? I think you’ve called them the Genocide Olympics,” Breitbart News asked.

“Today there are more than one million human beings that are being wrongfully interned in China. They are being forced to separate from their families. Women are being forced to be sterilized. There are forced abortions taking place. This is among the most horrific human rights violations that our humankind has ever seen,” Pompeo answered.

“This is ongoing,” he said emphatically.

“It’s not that it happened ten years ago or two years ago. It’s happening even as we sit here today,” the former secretary of state stated.

“To send American athletes, to reward Xi Jinping for that kind of behavior, to ask them to be just literally miles from the place where this is taking place it would remind us of what happened in the 1930s,” Pompeo continued.

“We ought not to honor this Genocide Olympics. Xi Jinping is a horrible human rights violator. We have many other options about how we could do this. We moved a baseball game in a matter of hours, surely we could move an Olympics in a matter of months and months, and if we need to delay our Olympics for a bit so our amazing athletes can all go show the world their greatness, their athletic prowess, so be it,” he added.

“We shouldn’t be there. We shouldn’t be there working to support the Chinese Communist Party with all the money that will come from that, the sponsors, the American TV audience that will come from that. I can tell you this, I wouldn’t send my child to China, given the conditions that are taking place there and the number of Americans that they continue to hold, and business people they continue to hold unlawfully,” Pompeo concluded on the China question.

Breitbart News then turned the conversation to Afghanistan.

“How would the Trump administration have handled the exit from Afghanistan differently than the Biden administration?” Breitbart News asked.

“We don’t know exactly what they’re going to do just yet,” Pompeo responded.

“I had two missions that the president gave me as Secretary of State. The first mission was to get our young people home, to get them out of harm’s way. The second was to make sure we left the capacity to reduce the risk we would ever be attacked from Tora Bora or Afghanistan again,” Pompeo explained.

“I met with the Taliban. We had multiple discussions. I was meeting with people that I’m almost certain had killed friends of mine,” Pompeo continued.

“What was that like? What kind of guys were they?” Breitbart News asked.

“They were bad guys. They were very bad people who don’t care about human rights. They have an interpretation of Sharia that is violative of all the central things that we know and value and how you should treat other human beings,” he continued.

“But in the end, you make peace and reconciliation with your adversaries, with your enemies. And so we were trying to find a path forward. I hope the Biden administration will do this. I hope they are still sincere in their effort to do the second part of the mission set, which is to ensure that we’re never attacked again from Afghanistan. When we left office, there were fewer than two hundred Al Qaeda left in Afghanistan, down from the thousands that were there almost exactly 20 years ago. That’s a really good thing, and we should be proud of the work we did to crush Al Qaeda in Afghanistan. But today, they’re in Africa, they’re in Yemen, they’re in Southeast Asia,” the former Secretary of State said.

“We need to make sure our resources are deployed appropriately to protect our homeland. And that’s the mission set. It’s the mission set President [Donald] Trump had given me. I’m confident we would have delivered on both of those missions. I pray the Biden administration can get both of those right,” he concluded.

Pompeo closed out the interview by noting that he is traveling across the country to help secure 2022 midterm election victories for Republicans running for Congress in both the House of Representatives and the Senate.

Former Secretary of State Pompeo was in Franklin, Tennessee on Saturday as the featured speaker at a Williamson County Republican Party event, The Best is Yet to Come: An Evening with Secretary Mike Pompeo.

An international law enforcement effort led to the discovery and shutdown of a 183-foot tunnel being built to smuggle drugs, weapons, and people under the border into California. The sophisticated tunnel utilized electricity, a ventilation system, a rail system, and an electric hoist to move their illicit cargo from Mexico to the U.S.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations special agents teamed up with Mexican law enforcement officials in Mexicali, Baja California, to locate and seize a sophisticated smuggling tunnel on August 2, according to information obtained from ICE officials.

The team discovered a tunnel inside a home in Mexicali located along the border with California, officials stated. The tunnel ran approximately 183 feet at about 22 feet below the surface to a location approximately three feet north of the border wall in Calexico, California, officials reported.

While the tunnel did not yet have an exit in California, the entrance to the three-foot by four-foot tunnel measured approximately 12 feet by ten feet and utilized an electric hoist to lower the people or drugs underground. The drug traffickers installed an electrical system, ventilation, and a rail cart system to move their cargo through the tunnel.

“These types of tunnels enable drug traffickers to conduct illicit activities virtually undetected across the U.S.–Mexico border,” Cardell T. Morant, special agent in charge of HSI San Diego said in a written statement. “Discovering and shutting down these tunnels deals a major blow to drug trafficking organizations because it denies them the ability to smuggle drugs, weapons, and people across the border.”

“This is an ongoing HSI-led investigation with assistance from the El Centro Sector Border Patrol and the government of Mexico, HSI officials noted. “The HSI San Diego Tunnel Task Force thanks the government of Mexico for its cooperation in this investigation.”
