(CNS News) -- According to U.S. Customs and Border Enforcement (CBP), the area around El Paso, Texas is popular for illegal migrants with criminal records trying to enter the United States. Since the first of this year, CBP has stopped 244 migrants with previous criminal histories in the El Paso Sector.

"The El Paso Sector continues to see migrants with criminal records attempting to enter our borders with different criminal backgrounds that include assault, burglary, driving under the influence, homicide, illegal drug possession, illegal weapon possession and sexual offenses," said the CBP in a press release.

In a Jan. 25 encounter, CBP agents from the Teresa Border Patrol Station stopped a migrant who was trying to enter the U.S. illegally. "Criminal record checks indicated that the El Salvador national is affiliated with a notorious criminal gang and was removed on two prior occasions," said the CBP.

A few hours later, agents caught a migrant in Deming, N.M. "Criminal records indic     ated that this individual had extensive criminal history in San Jose, California," said the CBP. "Criminal convictions include charges of sexual battery, DUI causing bodily injury, hit and run and DUI with priors."

That evening, Santa Teresa Border Patrol agents stopped an "aggravated felon" with "confirmed gang affiliation." According to the CBP, "The felon was part of a group of two migrants encountered illegally into the United States. The previously removed individual had convictions for unlawful transport of firearms, felon in possession of a firearm, and receiving stolen property."

Over the weekend of Jan. 29-30, Ysleta Border Patrol Agents arrested "a migrant with criminal records in a foreign country and another migrant with a murder charge out of Los Angeles, California," reported the CBP.

“These arrests continue to highlight the dangers that Transnational Criminal Organizations pose by attempting to smuggle criminals into our country," said El Paso Sector Chief Patrol Agent Gloria I. Chavez.  "Dangerous criminals endanger our communities when they often continue to disregard the rule of law. The agents of the El Paso Sector are committed to their duties of protecting the American people, safeguarding our borders, and enhancing the nation’s economic prosperity."

“Our agents work diligently and tirelessly to protect our communities and our country," said Chavez. "These significant arrests made over the span of seven days demonstrate the importance of the work the agents do every day. Keeping convicted felons off our streets is amongst the most vital duties performed by Border Patrol Agents.”

In its press release, the CBP noted that "an arrest or criminal complaint is merely a charge and should not be considered evidence of guilt. Subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law."

Fmr. University of Texas Football Star Accused of Migrant Smuggling

Kinney County Sheriff Brad Coe disclosed a surprising human smuggling suspect apprehended in his jurisdiction this week, Ronnie Dinell Major Jr., a former University of Texas football star. Major reportedly told deputies he was once on the Longhorn roster during interviews.

The 6’8 340-pound Major was arrested after deputies reportedly discovered seven passengers in his vehicle who crossed the Rio Grande illegally. Major faces seven counts of smuggling of persons. The charge is a third-degree felony in Texas, punishable by imprisonment for 10 years and a fine not to exceed $10,000.

In 2015, Major was offered a full-ride scholarship after graduating from a Huntsville, Texas, high school and was a highly ranked offensive tackle. In 2017, Major’s collegiate play was cut short by injury. Major then pursued a career in professional wrestling. According to arrest reports, Major is now working as an intern at an Austin area hospital.

The increase in migrant crossings has kept law enforcement across the state busy as smuggling organizations attempt to move migrants inland from the border. Mexican cartels frequently rely on drivers with no apparent ties to their organizations. They are recruited through word of mouth and social media platforms.

The recruitment methods help to insulate cartels. The mostly teen and young adults who respond often chase the promise of quick, easy money.

A recent San Antonio Express-News report highlighted cases where young adults responded to posts on TikTok, Telegram, and Facebook seeking help transporting migrants away from the Texas border.

The cartel advertisements do not warn of the criminal consequences and potentially deadly results.

In March, another Austin resident’s attempt to earn easy money ended in tragedy when eight migrants he transported died after a head-on collision near Del Rio. Sebastian Tovar allegedly led a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper on a 50-mile chase that killed migrants after some were ejected from his truck.

Attorney Kevin Boyd told the Express-News Tovar was driving in tandem with another truck carrying a dozen more migrants. Boyd disclosed six other cases in his care involving defendants, all under the age 25, recruited via Facebook to drive migrants.

The charges against Major are part of the growing list of human smuggling incidents moving through the Texas court system. According to Sheriff Brad Coe, as of January 31, Kinney County (population 3,300) is prosecuting 56 felony smuggling cases.

Beto is desperately hoping that the lights go out

The RCP average has Governor Abbott up 8.2 points on Beto O’Rourke.

So, what is Beto doing these days? The answer is that he can’t stop reminding Texas that the lights went out a year ago. This is from The Austin Statesman:

Democratic gubernatorial candidate Beto O’Rourke will travel to 20 cities and towns across Texas over 12 days to mark the anniversary of the deadly February winter storms and widespread power outages, his campaign announced Monday.

The trip — dubbed the “Keeping the Lights On” tour — will start in El Paso on Friday and end in Houston Feb. 15, the anniversary of the first day of the deadly freeze.

O’Rourke will stop in Abilene, Wichita Falls, Austin, Corpus Christi and at least six other cities to speak about the outages and unveil his plan for improving the reliability of the state’s power grid.

Since launching his campaign for governor, O’Rourke has been a vocal critic of the state’s response to the nearly catastrophic failure of the state’s power grid, arguing that Gov. Greg Abbott and other state leaders have failed to take steps to secure the grid and prevent future widespread outages.

Still, he has yet to release a detailed plan for how to shore up the grid.

Yes, we are waiting for the plan. According to the website, Mr. O’Rourke wants to keep Texas as the energy capital of the US. How? We are waiting for specifics.

Image: Beto O’Rourke (edited in befunky). YouTube screen grab.

A year ago, we had a disaster in Texas. Unfortunately, our power grid collapsed under the weight of unusually cold temperatures and snow. I’ve lived in Texas since 1984 and have seen many tornadoes, heat waves of 100-plus temperatures, freak winter storms, and a few other crazy things. However, nothing like what happened a year ago, when Texas resembled the North Pole for a weekend.

So why is Beto reminding people of that terrible situation a year ago? He’s got nothing else and the campaign looks more and more desperate every day.

JOE BIDEN = POS!

From April 2020 to April 2021, more than 100,000 Americans died from drug overdoses, according to data from the National Center for Health Statistics. An overwhelming majority of those deaths came from opioids, and fentanyl smuggling has surged at the southern border since the start of Joe Biden's presidency.Joseph Simonson and Collin Anderson

“Joe Biden is great on immigration. I guess depends on your perspective. If you’re a human trafficker, or drug dealer, you’d give him an A-plus, but theAmerican people would give him an F. The crisis at our border was not only entirely predictable, it was predicted. I predicted that if you campaign all year long on open borders, amnesty, and health care for illegals, you’re going to get more migrants at the border. That’s what’s happened since the election.” SEN. TOM COTTON

What's the deal with Biden’s 'ghost flights’ of illegal aliens?

Is the Biden administration quietly importing large numbers of illegal aliens through midnight flights?

That would be a reasonable conclusion based on recent reports about the Biden administration’s resettlement process. The White House is being accused of chartering flights for hundreds of “mostly minor-age” illegal aliens to Pennsylvania, according to a report.

The “ghost flights” allegedly took place over the course of three weeks during the month of September, and concluded shortly after the Christmas holiday. Flight tracking websites showed at least one flight from El Paso, Texas to Scranton, Pennsylvania on Dec. 17. That flight was chartered by iAero Airways, which contracts with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Jim Gallagher, president of Aviation Technologies Inc., the Scranton airport’s fixed-base operator, claimed that he observed mostly young, non-English speaking people exiting planes and leaving on busses at the Scranton airport.

The allegations garnered the attention of two of Pennsylvania’s top Republicans, Rep. Dan Meuser and former Rep. Lou Barletta, a candidate in the state’s upcoming gubernatorial election. Both Meuser and Barletta wrote letters to ICE Director Tae Johnson and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas ripping the administration’s handling of the border crisis, and demanding answers over the flights.

“This mismanagement is now directly impacting the people I represent, and I expect you will provide me the answers I need to address my constituents’ concerns,” Meuser wrote.

“Now we see evidence of more flights on Christmas night, and people want to know if illegal immigrants are being transported to our community, whether they’ve undergone background checks and health screenings, and why no one was notified that this was happening,” Barletta wrote.

Barletta later shared photos of what he claimed showed a flight full of illegal aliens at Lehigh Valley Airport in Allentown, Pennsylvania, while suggesting that the Biden administration shifted the flights from Scranton to Allentown following the initial backlash. Meuser has also accused the Biden administration of using funds intended to fight the COVID-19 pandemic to resettle illegal aliens into the U.S.

Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf denied that migrants were being resettled into his state. Wolf, a Democrat, claims that the migrants were simply passing through the state en route to their final destination, and accused Republicans of engaging in a “political PR stunt.” However, this is not the first time the Biden administration has been accused of resettling illegal aliens into the U.S. through secretive, midnight flights.

Just last month, Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis accused the Biden administration of effectively running a “human smuggling operation” by sending planes full of illegal aliens into his state. DeSantis accused the administration of having sent 70 such flights to the state over a six-month period. DeSantis has earmarked $8 million in his proposed budget to ship illegal aliens coming into his state to Joe Biden’s home state of Delaware.

The Biden administration has not addressed any of the accusations emanating from elected officials in Florida and Pennsylvania, likely because their allies in the corporate media have not bothered to cover the accusations. However, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki previously acknowledged that the administration was flying planes full of illegal aliens to New York under cover of darkness. It seems likely, based on the White House’s pattern of behavior, that the accounts from officials in Florida and Pennsylvania are true.

The Biden administration has an established pattern of secrecy when it comes to its immigration policies, and it’s not just about the ghost flights. This month, it was reported that the Biden administration had been hiding the arrest records and terrorist ties of new arrivals. The White House has also withheld an annual report on the number of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) deportations. It was the first time in more than a decade that ICE failed to release an annual report, ending an era of bipartisan transparency on this subject.

Given Biden’s horrific approval ratings, it’s no surprise that his administration is dispersing illegal aliens throughout the U.S. in secret. But, we should all be grateful to local and state officials who work to bring the consequences of the administration’s anti-borders agenda into the light.

Feds Gave U.S. Citizenship to Azerbaijan National as He Molested His Children

The federal government allowed an Azerbaijan national to secure naturalized American citizenship as he was molesting his children, the Department of Justice (DOJ) reveals.

Vyacheslav Fyodorovitch Rizkhov, a 44-year-old citizen of Azerbaijan, was found guilty of naturalization fraud last month after the federal government certified that he was of “good moral character,” and thus eligible for naturalized American citizenship, despite his sexual abuse of children.

According to federal prosecutors, in Cabarrus County, North Carolina, Rizkhov claimed on three separate occasions that he was eligible for naturalization by stating that he had not committed any crimes that he had not been arrested for.

As a result, the federal government approved Rizkhov for naturalized American citizenship.

A year after Rizkhov first applied for naturalization, he was convicted on one count of sexual battery of a physically helpless person and two counts of indecent liberties with a child for molesting his biological three children beginning in at least July 2017.

In March 2021, federal prosecutors filed a case against Rizkhov, asking that his naturalized American citizenship be revoked for fraudulently claiming he was not involved in crimes at the time of his naturalization.

Now, in addition to registering as a sex offender, Rizkhov is facing up to ten years in federal prison for naturalization fraud and is subject to mandatory denaturalization.

Large groups of illegal aliens entering through Kinney County, Texas

Exceptionally organized large groups of illegal aliens are entering the United States through Kinney County, Texas, according to InVest USA CEO Michael Letts. One of the first to decry the FBI’s initial outrageous characterization of the January 2022 hostage crisis at a Texas Synagogue as “not specifically related to the Jewish community,” Letts reminds Americans that we have a clear and present danger on our border.

Stated Letts, “Members of drug cartels and Islamicist terrorists frequently ‘blend in’ with other illegal aliens in their northward march into the ‘land of milk and honey, a.k.a. taxpayer-funded welfare to newly-minted Democrats. Yet, tragically, our Marxist-minded Leftist leaders look the other way -- to the 2024 elections, pushing for new ways for these illegals to get away with voting to keep in these unholy leaders. This treasonous alliance needs to halt now.”

Police officer Letts is now standing in solidarity with Kinney County Sheriff Brad Coe to sound the alarm that our southern border needs to be secured.

As reported by the EpochTimes, authorities in Texas do not see this illegal immigration slowing down, and they are greatly concerned about drug smugglers embedded within this migration train.

Michael Letts and other representatives of InVest USA recently visited the border of Texas with Mexico to talk with frustrated U.S. ranchers who are tired of illegals marching across their land to wreak havoc in the United States. Said Letts, “We saw deputies and officers without Active shooter vests to protect themselves against well-armed cartels, thus lacking the ability to stop this assault and invasion on America effectively.”

InVest recently donated five Active Shooter Vests to Sheriff’s Departments and multiple municipal police departments to, as he said, “to protect those who protect us.”

Kinney County, Texas sheriff Brad Coe reports large groups of Illegal immigrants crossing in his county recently that Letts says pose a clear and present danger to U.S. citizens.

“We at InVestUSA know all too well the danger Sheriff Brad Coe’s Department is facing. However, we applaud the heroic actions taken by Sheriff Coe and his deputies and staff in their effort to keep America safe. They are true American heroes, who defend our liberties, mitigating the carnage caused by the drug and trafficking cartels that are assaulting our country.”

InVest USA reports that Drug and Human trafficking in this area of Texas is up 1,379% from last year, as 2022 begins. Said Letts, “The threat is real and of the highest priority as these Drug and Human trafficking cartels launch an assault and war on innocent civilians and young people.”

According to Letts, one tactic drug cartels employ is to use small groups to distract and divert law enforcement. While U.S. border agents are spread thin, the cartel networks traffic drugs that destroy America’s citizens.

Come to think of it, isn’t this the same tactic the Left uses to continually keep the Right on the defensive so that they have virtually no time left to advance anything that is good or decent or edifying? Sadly, the Left continues to call good evil and evil good. For now, they are getting away with it.

Gravel Dump Trucks Carrying Migrants are Trending near West Texas Border

Dimmit Carrizo Load

Dimmit County Sheriff deputies are encountering a new trend from human smugglers over recent weeks using gravel dump trucks to move larger migrant groups through the region.

On Sunday, deputies attempted a vehicle stop near Big Wells, Texas. The driver stopped and ran onto a nearby ranch to escape. When deputies inspected the cargo area of the belly dump truck, where more than 60 migrants were found. Deputies were able to locate and arrest the driver.

The migrants were turned over to Border Patrol agents in Carrizo Springs. The case remains under investigation and the driver faces human smuggling charges. The migrants will be processed for removal.

Less than two weeks ago, deputies pursued a similar vehicle that eventually crashed through a ranch gate before coming to a stop. The driver and an estimated 40 people were observed jumping out and running into the ranch. Deputies, Border Patrol agents, and CBP air support found and arrested 34 migrants. The driver managed to elude apprehension.

Gravel trucks routinely travel through the county transporting materials for road improvements at oil and gas exploration sites. Separating the conventional from illicit loads is no easy task for deputies.

The emergence of the trend only adds to the volume of daily smuggling incidents for the department. As deputies thwart larger smuggling attempts, they were also involved in four car chases involving migrants last week.

‘Unable to Statistically Track’: Biden Administration Unclear How Many Illegal Aliens Deported After Being Freed into U.S.

Top officials with President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) are admitting they do not know how many illegal aliens have been deported from the United States after having been released into the nation’s interior.

Over the last 12 months, Biden’s DHS has operated an expansive Catch and Release program that has freed more than half a million border crossers and illegal aliens into the U.S. interior.

In many of those cases, border crossers and illegal aliens are given Notices to Appear (NTA) before an immigration judge. Prior DHS data published by Breitbart News revealed that about 85 percent of border crossers and illegal aliens released into the U.S. are evading deportation by skipping out on reporting requirements.

DHS officials now admit, in a letter to Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ), that they are not tracking the number of deported border crossers and illegal aliens who have failed to comply with reporting requirements following their release into the U.S. interior.

Agency officials admitted in the letter:

At this time, [DHS] is unable to statistically track the number of noncitizens released by [Customs and Border Protection] with a charging document or instructions to check-in with [the Immigration and Customs Enforcement] who have been removed from the United States. [Emphasis added]

DHS officials also did not divulge how many border crossers and illegal aliens have been arrested by ICE agents after having violated their release terms.

Biden’s DHS has failed to disclose the total number of illegal aliens arrested and deported in Fiscal Year 2021. Former ICE officials have suggested that the agency is diligently trying to manipulate the data to make it harder to compare to past years of interior enforcement.

Research has shown that deportations are incredibly cost-efficient for Americans, as deporting every illegal alien in the U.S. is about six times less expensive than what taxpayers are forced to subsidize for the nation’s 11 to 22 million illegal aliens.

Kevin McCarthy: Democrats’ Visa Giveaway, China Bill ‘Helps China … Hurts America’

The Democrats’ bill to help the U.S. compete against China’s fast-growing manufacturing and technology sectors actually allows China to compete against America, GOP leader Kevin McCarthy said Wednesday.

McCarthy used his floor speech during the debate to spotlight visa provisions in the bill that would encourage U.S. companies and universities to hire and train Chinese graduates instead of American graduates:

They call it the American Competes Act. But make no mistake. It’s a bill that concedes to China. The American Concedes Act is Democrats desperate answer to their string of self-created crisis. While it contains some provisions supported by Republicans. Speaker Pelosi is holding these good ideas hostage by using this 3,000 page bill as a vehicle for the party’s far left agenda.  Almost every page of Democrats concede Act has a provision that helps China but hurts America.

Now here are just a few excerpts. On page 1,689, it provides a new unlimited green card program for the Chinese Communist Party to exploit.

The green card language was touted by Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-Ca), whose district includes part of Silicon Vallery.

Advocates say it allows the “best and brightest” foreign graduates to get green cards, jobs, and then citizenship if they work to get a science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) PhD. in American or foreign universities. But the fine print of the bill shows it would give green cards to a wide variety of ordinary foreign graduates, including chemists, doctors, engineers, statisticians, accountants, tax experts, software developers, and computer security experts.

Lofgren said:

We must build our domestic STEM workforce and encourage startup companies to establish roots here. While increasing STEM scholarships for U.S. students, the act simultaneously draws the world’s best and brightest STEM doctoral recipients and company founders to the U.S. It ensures that individuals who earn STEM doctoral degrees from top research universities will be eligible for permanent residence. Unlike Canada, the United Kingdom and Germany, our laws don’t provide a visa option for company founders to start a new venture and create jobs in the United States. This Act would fix this.

I want to thank Priscilla Kim [Harvard, 2015] on my staff for the hard work she put into this.

The bill’s language sets no limits on the number of foreign migrants who can get green cards and then U.S. jobs and careers, nor does it set any minimum standards for the skills of those migrants.

Roughly 1.5 million non-immigrant, foreign contract workers — such as H-1B workers — have been imported and hired by CEOs to fill white-collar careers that would otherwise be held by U.S. graduates. The mass inflow of cheap and compliant foreign workers distorts the nation’s professional sector by empowering CEOs, suppressing U.S. salaries, undermining professionalism, slowing innovation, and diverting investment towards the coasts, such as Silicon Valley and New York.

The China bill is strongly backed by business groups, such as Mark Zuckerberg’s FWD.us advocacy group for West Coast investors: “According to FWD.us estimates, 100,000 international student graduates of U.S. colleges and universities each year would like to stay and work permanently in the U.S.,” the group said in a new report.

That 100,000 number is roughly one-eighth of all Americans who graduate each year from four-year colleges with degrees in healthcare, business, science, biology, software, math, or engineering.

Zuckerberg’s investor allies at FWD.us are leading the 2022 push for more migration and amnesty. The investor group is not just looking for extra workers — it wants more migrants because they also serve as consumers and renters.

The  American Action Forum, which is tied to investors and GOP donors, also endorsed the China bill’s green card giveaway: “These are desirable changes. Greater immigration raises the growth rate of the employed population, leading to more [-economic] output and income.”

Most of the Democrats who spoke during the Wednesday floor debate downplayed the distinction between the Americans and the imported workers in the nation’s workforce.

“It is an investment in our people,” said Rep. Haley Stevens (D-Mich). “I will always bet on the American workforce. My job in Congress is to connect people to the tools that unlock our future. And those tools are in this bill.

“China now surpasses the United States in the global share of research papers and consistently files more [artificial intelligence] patents than any other country,” said Rep. Jackie Speier (D-Ca). “We need to invest in talent,” she added, without citing Americans.

“Our future prosperity depends on what we do now to nurture STEM talent in our country,” said Rep. Deborah Ross D-NC), who also filed an amendment that would allow the children of Indian contract workers to get green cards.

“We need to be making goods in America with American workers,” said Majority Leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), before adding that the bill:

…maximizes the American talent pool fruit by strengthening and diversifying our nation’s STEM workforce. This is very important because we want many more people, women, people of color, other previously underrepresented communities, to be part of this.”

The bill “also invests in a STEM workforce for the future to ensure we have the talents to bring all these semiconductor climate manufacturing jobs back home where they belong,” said Rep. Sean Kasten (D-Il). He continued:

If I could share a personal story. About 13 years ago, I was building a tree house in my backyard. And as I was starting, the six-year-old neighborhood kid shows up behind me with a cute little hardhat and a tool belt and said “I’m here to help.” And my 2009 summer intern, as it were, is now a sophomore at the University of Illinois studying nuclear engineering.

The visa provisions in the bill allow an unlimited inflow of Chinese, Indian and other foreigners into U.S. nuclear engineering careers.

A few GOP legislators spoke against or filed amendments to block, the visa giveaways.

“We’ve got this new W visa [program] that is language in the bill, said Michael Burgess, R-Texas. “No language about protecting American jobs, but we’re going to give jobs to other people.”

His amendment says: “Strikes Sections 80301 and 80302 that create a new classification of ‘W’ visas for start-ups.”

“Amazingly, the Democrats blocked consideration of all my common sense amendments which would have prevented known Chinese spies from entering our nation,” said Rep. Vicky Hartzler (R-Il). “Stop [Chinese Communist Party] officials from taking advantage of our higher education system!”

Rep. Lance Gooden (R-Tx) filed an amendment that “Prohibits a new visa class from being created to maintain the numerical limitations on immigrant visas.”

GOP Rep. Troy Balderson (R-)h) filed an amendment that “stipulates that doctoral STEM graduates from institutions in the People’s Republic of China (PRC), Russia, or any designated State Sponsor of Terror are not eligible for cap-exempt STEM doctoral visas.”

But Democrats filed amendments to further expand labor migration into U.S. graduates middle-class jobs.

Democrats Rep. Kathy Manning (D-NC), Scott Peters (D-CA), Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL), and Ross added an amendment to expose American graduates to unending competion from the world’s graduates: “Adds graduates with advanced degrees in STEM who work in a critical industry to the exemption from numerical visa limitations for doctoral STEM graduates.”

Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-Va) opened a door for Korean graduates: “Creates an E-4 treaty trader visa category for up to 15,000 nationals of South Korea each fiscal year who are coming to the United States solely to perform specialty occupation services, subject to various requirements.”

Reps Ayana Pressley (D-Mass) and Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) posted an amendment to expand white-collar migration, which “allows dual intent for STEM doctoral students, allowing them to transition to a green card as provided under this bill without first needing to leave the country.”

Eleven legislators filed an amendment to further expand the inflow of H-2B seasonal laborers for the landscaping, restaurant, and resort businesses in their districts.

McCarthy was unsparing in his extensive criticism of the Democrats’ bill, which excluded GOP negotiators but added many unrelated provisions backed by Democrats. He said:

These policies would make our nation more vulnerable to Chinese espionage … there’s nothing in there that actually makes us stronger against China, only weaker. The actions of the [Democratic] majority tell you all you need to know about who they truly want to help: Themselves, their corporate allies [and] tee Chinese Communist Party.

Migration moves money, and since at least 1990, the federal government has tried to extract people from poor countries so they can serve U.S. investors as cheap workers, government-aided consumers, and high-density renters in the U.S. economy.

That economic strategy has no stopping point, and it is harmful to ordinary Americans because it cuts their career opportunities and their wages while it also raises their housing costs.

The strategy also curbs Americans’ productivity, shrinks their political clout, and widens the regional wealth gaps between the Democrats’ coastal states and the Republicans’ Heartland states. The economic policy radicalizes Americans’ democratic, compromise-promoting civic culture and allows wealthy elites to ignore despairing Americans at the bottom of society.

Unsurprisingly, a wide variety of little-publicized polls do show deep and broad opposition to labor migration and the inflow of temporary contract workers into jobs sought by young U.S. graduates.

The opposition is growinganti-establishmentmultiracialcross-sexnon-racistclass-basedbipartisanrationalpersistent, and recognizes the solidarity that Americans owe to each other.
