W.Va. Attorney General Calls for Fentanyl to Be Listed as a Weapon of Mass Destruction
(CNSNews.com) - West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey said Thursday that fentanyl should be listed as a weapon of mass destruction because of its potency.
“I don't think that the media wants to acknowledge what’s going on because if you have to point fingers at China, the Mexican drug cartels, then all of a sudden, hey what is Secretary of State Blinken doing? By the way, not nearly enough. What is Mayorkas doing? He should be impeached or fired, and then what’s Merrick Garland doing?” he told Fox Business’ “Mornings with Maria Bartiromo.”
“They’re not increasing the number of fentanyl prosecutions. This has been an unmitigated disaster. The only agency I think that’s trying to some degree is the DEA, but they need a lot of help. That’s why I’ve called for fentanyl to be listed as a weapon of mass destruction, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg of what we need to do,” Morrisey said.
When asked what he expects when Title 42 ends next week, the attorney general said that he’s “concerned we are going to get another stream of people, flooding across the border, and with it of course comes more human trafficking, more deadly fentanyl, more invasion into the heartland, so we’ve been worried.”
“I mean this administration is a disaster in terms of how it’s handling the border, so it’s just going to be another seminal event, gonna flood more people, and that means more drugs, more death, and we have to keep educating Americans as to what is going on,” he said.
When asked how many times he has filed lawsuits against the Biden administration for various issues, like climate change, the border, et cetera, Morrisey said, “I know we're up in at least individually and with my colleagues I think in the high 20s, in terms of original actions. Then we’ve joined other briefs. We’ve sued dozens and dozens and dozens of times.
“Let me tell you, it’s not enough. If I had more lawyers, I would be suing them even more frequently because the reality is, this administration violates the rule of law every day, and it’s nowhere more evident than what’s going on at the border,” the attorney general said.
“Maria, just a few weeks ago I had families of the victims of fentanyl in my office, and they were talking about what was going on what happened to them personally, and the stream of fentanyl flooding from China through the border. This is very real. It is killing West Virginians, and it has to stop,” he said.
Morrisey said that “we pour so much money and time into addressing first responders' needs, because they are the ones on the front line, and the saying is if you touch it, you could die or one pill kills.”
“That is what we're seeing right now. Law enforcement needs to have so many different versions of Narcan available just to avoid having first responders and our brave policemen die. it is a serious problem, and I see this, and my heart goes out to all the families of the victims who have died from this,” the attorney general said.
“As you all know, you touch fentanyl or you have some of it laced, and it could even be through a vaping tool, which we’ve have heard of more and more and then you are going to die in a very short period of time, so I have been getting out to the schools in West Virginia,” Morrisey said.
“We’re trying to educate a lot of people, because a lot of these kids don't realize the potency of it, and we have to educate people. Meanwhile though, half the country doesn't even know about it because other than Fox and few other stations, they’re not covering it. So that’s why I am excited for the House to come in and start doing oversight so that everyone in America knows this crisis,” he said.
Sen. Hawley on Biden's SW Border Chaos: 'This Is Their Plan, and They Are Executing It'
(CNSNews.com) - As the Biden administration blames congressional inaction for the border crisis, Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) says he is among the Republicans who will not support the Democrat plan to give illegal aliens a pathway to citizenship, which seems to be the goal of Democrats who are doing nothing about the current invasion of Texas and Arizona particularly.
Republicans say border security comes before any "comprehensive immigration reform."
"The truth is, we shouldn't have to trade anything to get the enforcement of our laws at our own southern border," Hawley told Fox News's Laura Ingraham.
"I just say, this Biden administration is getting exactly what they want at the southern border. This is a 14,000 a day illegal surge. They've known about this, they have known this would
happen. This is what they want, Laura.
"They don't want a border. They don't want there to be Customs and Border Patrol, they don't want there to be I.C.E., they don't want there to be immigration enforcement. This is their plan and they are executing it."
Ingraham noted the far-reaching effects of allowing unchecked illegal immigration -- on the electoral process, schools, public health system, housing -- and criminal justice, Hawley chimed in:
"And let's not forget, we're talking about hundreds of thousands -- millions of people coming across the border in the space of one year, and what this really says, Laura, is the Democrats are willing to turn over our sovereign southern border to the biggest human trafficking operation in the world. Those would be the border cartels.
"They're willing to let them have it. You're concerned about kids. Well, the Democrats want to give the cartels, who are smuggling children, control of the border. You're concerned about crime. The Democrats want to give the cartels control of the border.
"And I can just say, as a guy who represents the state of Missouri, we are awash in illegal drugs, with fentanyl, methamphetamine in our state. It's not coming from inside Missouri. It's coming across the border. That is all courtesy of Joe Biden.
"And I tell you what. It's time to hold this guy accountable. And it's time for the House of Representatives to do their job and to impeach (Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro) Mayorkas.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre says it's up to Congress to solve the problem in a "bipartisan way" -- which means the Democrat way or the highway.
We know how to work with Republicans; Republicans know how to work with us,” Jean-Pierre said on Tuesday. “So why don’t they work with us on this particular issue that is important to — important to Americans across the country? And we’re asking for them to join us on this — on this issue as well."
Hawley said he'd go along with congressional action if it means extending Title 42 by statute, "make it the law."
"I'd be happy to do that," Hawley said. In fact, Republicans have proposed to do that over and over again, Democrats have blocked it. If that's what the White House is saying, that they welcome congressional action on this, great!
“Let's make may Title 42 permanent, let's do it with the force of law. I'm 100 percent delighted to do that. And I look forward to seeing the Democrats line up for that."
Title 42 is the public health measure that allows border agents to immediately expel some illegal aliens. By court order, it will be lifted on December 21, opening the floodgates for even more illegal immigration.
WATCH: Florida Officer Saved by Narcan After Accidental Fentanyl Exposure
A Florida police officer who overdosed after being accidentally exposed to fentanyl was saved by fellow officers who administered Narcan to her.
Officer Courtney Bannick was conducting a traffic stop after midnight Tuesday when she found narcotics on a passenger, according to the Tavares Police Department via Fox 35.
Bannick placed the passenger into custody, but she started to experience difficulty breathing and was choking.
When a nearby officer checked on Bannick, he saw her drifting in and out of consciousness and determined she needed immediate medical attention.
Body camera footage then shows two Tavares police officers and a K-9 handler from the Astatula Police Department removing Bannick from her vehicle and administering three doses of Narcan.
Narcan is the brand name for a life-saving nasal spray that contains naloxone, which is used to reverse the effects of a potentially fatal opioid drug overdose.
After being given naloxone, Bannick is seen returning to life before appearing to go in and out of consciousness again. She was taken to a nearby hospital and is expected to recover.
“She doesn’t really remember very much. She remembers waking up and seeing everyone surrounding her. She remembers feeling like she could breathe. She said obviously it’s freaky to see her in such a lifeless state,” Detective Courtney Sullivan told clickorlando.com.
Police say Bannick was following protocols while handling the narcotics during the traffic stop, noting she was wearing gloves.
“I have done this one-hundred times before the same way. It only takes one time and a minimal amount,” said Bannick. “I’m thankful I wasn’t alone and had immediate help.”
“If the other officers weren’t there, there’s a very chance and probability that today would be different,” Sullivan added.
The suspects from the traffic stop are potentially facing felony charges but will not be identified until they are formally charged, according to Tavares police.
Over 107,000 Americans died from a drug overdose in 2021, with 66 percent of those related to synthetic opioids, such as fentanyl.

Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) and Jonathan Thompson, the CEO of the National Sheriffs’ Association, discussed the border human rights “train wreck” on Blackburn’s Unmuted with Marsha podcast.
Blackburn discussed how Mexican cartels were active in her state and she said that many sheriffs in Tennessee may not be prepared to fight against the cartels.
“I hear from our sheriffs that they say, we don’t have the training and the equipment to go head to head with these drug dealers or people that are, that have been trained on how to push these drugs into communities,” Blackburn said.
Thompson described the border as a “human rights train wreck,” noting that it impacts Americans across the country:
You know, the criminal mind is, is devious beyond words. And the cartels though, are smart beyond words. They have more money, they have more technology, they have more people, they have more resources at their disposal, and they’ve got a willing customer and addicted customer as well. Now what’s happened even more so is this human smuggling is just a tragic, tragic situation. We are becoming our own human rights train wreck along the southern border, and we’ve got to stand up and we’ve gotta say, enough is enough. The cartels are sophisticated, they have an enormous network of financial support, and they have a very deep desire to make money. And, and, and I like to say they wake up every day wondering how can they make more money off the backs of the Americans? How can they take from America, which is what they want.
Breitbart News reported that 7,400 migrants crossed the Mexican border to El Paso, Texas over the weekend.
Thompson added, “We’ve gotta stand tall and people like you are helping us do that.”

Amnesty Push Exposes Divide Between Working Americans and Donor Class
An effort to push amnesty for illegal aliens through the lame duck session of Congress is exposing a long-lasting, deep divide between most working Americans and the donor class.
Currently, Sens. Thom Tillis (R-NC) and Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ) are negotiating a plan to give amnesty to at least two million illegal aliens living in the United States. The plan, the Senators hope, would be rammed through the lame duck Congress before Republicans take the majority in the House.
In the recent midterm elections, though, a plurality of voters told Rasmussen Reports that amnesty for illegal aliens would only make the nation’s record-setting illegal immigration levels worse.
More notably, 51 percent of voters with only a high school education said amnesty would make illegal immigration worse and 50 percent of those who attended college but did not graduate said the same.
These are the working and lower-middle class Americans who are most likely to compete against cheaper foreign workers, often illegally in the U.S., for jobs in the labor market and whose wages are the most likely to be crushed by inflation in the market, research has repeatedly shown.
In 2013, Congressional Budget Office (CBO) analysis stated that the “Gang of Eight” amnesty plan would “slightly” push down wages for American workers. Another CBO analysis, published in 2020, stated that “immigration has exerted downward pressure on the wages of relatively low-skilled workers who are already in the country, regardless of their birthplace.”
Other research finds current legal immigration to the U.S. results in more than $530 billion worth of lost wages for Americans.
Recent peer-reviewed research by economist Christoph Albert acknowledges that “as immigrants accept lower wages, they are preferably chosen by firms and therefore have higher job finding rates than natives, consistent with evidence found in US data.”
Meanwhile, the donor class has lined up to back the Tillis-Sinema amnesty.
As Breitbart News reported, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the American Hotel and Lodging Association, National Restaurant Association, and the Koch network of organizations are lobbying lawmakers in Washington, DC, to support the amnesty in the lame duck session.
The groups’ political action committees have donated to either Tillis, Sinema, or both.
Likewise, billionaire Mark Zuckerberg’s FWD.us investor group is also asking lawmakers to back the Tillis-Sinema amnesty via the Niskanen Center they help fund.
The corporate donor-funded organizations have long represented their own financial interests when lobbying for amnesty and mass immigration — seeking to inflate the labor market to keep U.S. wages down, import a compliant underclass of foreign workers, grow profit margins, and add to an expanding consumer base to which to sell products.
