(CNS News) – Business magnate Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter, SpaceX, and Tesla said eliminating child exploitation on Twitter will “forever be our top priority.” At the same time, the idea of an OnlyFans competitor on the social media platform remains in question.

Musk tweeted on Nov. 29, “This will forever be our top priority,” after Liz Wheeler, a conservative political commentator publicly thanked him for his actions to remove child pornography and child trafficking hashtags from Twitter.

“Can we take a moment & thank @elonmusk for ridding Twitter of child pornography & child trafficking hashtags? Of all the battles he’s fighting, this is the most important,” Wheeler said on Twitter. “Think about how many little children he’s saving from sexual abuse, exploitation & torture. I could cry.”

Eliza Bleu, a survivor of human trafficking and an advocate for victims, helped Musk find a solution to the ongoing child sexual abuse materials (CSAM) floating around Twitter, as reported by the Tesmanian. On Nov. 19, Bleu tweeted that “the THREE biggest hashtags used by child abusers selling child sexual abuse material on Twitter have virtually been eliminated!”

She also mentioned that Twitter added a direct reporting option for child sexual exploitation on tweets that contain image and video content.

However, these new safety measures seem to “butt heads” with Twitter’s previous idea to adopt a paywall feature to its platform resembling an OnlyFans, where people can buy or sell pornographic content. The feature, referred to as a Paywalled Video, would allow users to post videos and charge people to view them, according to an internal email obtained by the Washington Post.

Meanwhile, the National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE) said in a news release that if Musk is serious about purging child exploitation from his company, he needs to “quash the idea of creating an OnlyFans competitor” and, instead, establish a robust system to stop child predators on Twitter.

“Given that Twitter has historically faced major challenges in preventing illegal, abusive content, it should not move towards an OnlyFans-style feature that will likely provide yet another avenue for abuse to thrive on Twitter,” Lina Nealon, director of corporate and strategic initiatives for the NCOSE said.

“Pedophiles and predators go to Twitter to trade in criminal content such as child abuse and nonconsensual pornography,” she said.  “The platform is rampant with accounts and posts functioning as advertisements for commercial sex -- including prostitution.”

Nealon further said, “Elon Musk cannot confront child sexual abuse material on Twitter while creating another means that would only fuel sexual abuse and exploitation on the platform.

According to the Washington Post, it is still unclear if the development of an OnlyFans replica was in development before Musk took over Twitter.

NCOSE placed Twitter and OnlyFans on the “2022 Dirty Dozen List” of mainstream contributors to sexual exploitation.

UNLEASHED: Twitter Owner Elon Musk Releases Hunter Biden Laptop Scandal Censorship Docs

December 2nd, 2022 7:47 PM

Twitter owner Elon Musk released damning documents exposing the extent of the platform’s efforts to squash the Hunter Biden laptop scandal first reported by the New York Post.

Journalist Matt Taibbi, who first reported on the documents Dec. 2, stated that they revealed how Twitter staff and executives over time found “more and more uses” for censorship tools. Specifically, per Taibbi, “Outsiders began petitioning the company to manipulate speech as well: first a little, then more often, then constantly.” In one snapshot dated Oct. 24, 2020, Taibbi stated that “[b]y 2020, requests from connected actors to delete tweets were routine. One executive would write to another: ‘More to review from the Biden team.’ The reply would come back: ‘Handled.’”

Musk’s release of the documents put an even greater spotlight on the nefarious scheme by Twitter to interfere in the electoral process to help throw the election to then-candidate Joe Biden. MRC President Brent Bozell praised Musk for making Twitter’s internal operations transparent to the American people at last: “Twitter sabotaged the 2020 elections. A big thank you to Elon Musk for releasing more information about this. The American people deserve to know the truth."

With regards to the laptop scandal, the decision to censor the story reportedly went to the highest levels of Twitter leadership albeit without the knowledge of former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey.

However, former Twitter legal executive Vijaya Gadde and former Twitter head of trust and safety Yoel Roth were both involved in the decision to censor the story. In one snapshot, Roth claimed that “the policy basis is hacked materials - though as discussed, this is an emerging situation where the facts remain unclear. Given the SEVERE risks here and lessons of 2016, we’re erring on the side of including a warning and preventing this content from being amplified.”

This is especially concerning given Roth’s past statements of wantonly smearing President Donald Trump’s administration as being staffed by “nazis.”

Taibbi reported further that “‘[b]y this point “everyone knew this was fucked,’ said one former employee, but the response was essentially to err on the side of… continuing to err."

Taibbi reported that the “hacked” materials policy basis sparked confusion amongst leadership and staff. Taibbi said: “Comms official Trenton Kennedy writes, ‘I'm struggling to understand the policy basis for marking [the New York Post story] as unsafe.’” In addition, “Former VP of Global Comms Brandon Borrman asks, ‘Can we truthfully claim that this is part of the policy?’” The policy basis for the censorship reportedly didn’t hold weight as a serious decision:

'They just freelanced it,’ is how one former employee characterized the decision. ‘Hacking was the excuse, but within a few hours, pretty much everyone realized that wasn’t going to hold. But no one had the guts to reverse it.’

Taibbi even said that Twitter’s decision to block transmission of the Post story via direct message was “a tool hitherto reserved for extreme cases, e.g. child pornography.”

In another snapshot showing an Oct. 24, 2020 communication detailing “an additional report by the DNC,” an alleged tweet by conservative actor James Woods was listed. Taibbi summarized that “[c]elebrities and unknowns alike could be removed or reviewed at the behest of a political party.” Taibbi then noted that these open channels for political parties to leverage censorship requests overwhelmingly favored the left:

This system wasn't balanced. It was based on contacts. Because Twitter was and is overwhelmingly staffed by people of one political orientation, there were more channels, more ways to complain, open to the left (well, Democrats) than the right.

Musk teased the release of the documents on Twitter before the release: “This will be awesome.”

MRC Free Speech America published a comprehensive timeline for how the censorship of the laptop scandal transpired on Big Tech platforms.

MRC Free Speech America conducted extensive analysis in April utilizing its unique CensorTrack database to reveal 646 examples of how far Big Tech went to protect President Joe Biden from his critics. The number included 140 documented cases of users — including lawmakers, organizations, news outlets and media personalities — censored on Twitter and other platforms for sharing anything related to the bombshell Hunter Biden laptop story. Twitter in particular locked the Post’s account for 17 days. In addition, Twitter slapped a “warning” label on the GOP House Judiciary Committee’s website for linking to the New York Post bombshell report.

MRC Free Speech America’s research on Big Tech platforms like Twitter protecting Biden was so influential that it was cited in an ongoing lawsuit from Missouri and Louisiana against the Biden administration for allegedly colluding with Big Tech to censor Americans.

MRC Free Speech America also demonstrated how Big Tech’s cancellation of the Hunter Biden laptop scandal helped shift the 2020 election in Biden’s favor. A 2020 MRC poll found that 45 percent of President Joe Biden’s voters weren’t fully aware of the Post story precisely because Big Media and Big Tech whitewashed it. Had Americans been fully aware of the scandal, 9.4 percent of Biden voters would have abandoned him, flipping all six of the swing states he won to former President Donald Trump, giving Trump a victorious 311 electoral votes.

LYING GAMER LAWYER WARREN:

Elizabeth Warren Slams Elon Musk’s Pro-Free Speech Changes at Twitter

November 30th, 2022 6:56 PM

Elon Musk is working to make Twitter a bastion of free speech–and Elizabeth Warren just isn’t having it.

Fox News reported that the Democratic senator criticized Musk’s decision to end unfair censorship on the platform, claiming that “one human being” should not be able to make decisions on a social media platform. Warren has been a proponent of increased content moderation on Twitter.

Speaking to Fox Business Network's Hillary Vaughn, Warren declared: "I think that one human being should not decide how millions of people communicate with each other, and it doesn't make any difference who that human being is. One human being should not be able to go into a dark room by himself and decide, 'Oh, that person gets heard from, that person doesn't.' That's not how it should work."

"But those decisions are going to be made. I think they ought to be made transparently out in the open. And I think a lot of people ought to be able to have input to it. And that's not what's happening right now on Twitter," Warren added.

Earlier this month, NewsBusters reported that Warren was among the senators who sent a letter to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) claiming that Musk’s decision to end unfair censorship is “alarming”:

Twitter’s new Chief Executive Officer, Elon Musk, has taken alarming steps that have undermined the integrity and safety of the platform, and announced new features despite clear warnings those changes would be abused for fraud, scams, and dangerous impersonation. According to media reports, in prioritizing increasing profits and cutting costs, Twitter’s executives have dismissed key staff, scaled back internal privacy reviews, and forced engineers to take on legal liability for new changes — preventing managers and staff tasked with overseeing safety and legal compliance from reviewing the product updates.

In April of this year, Warren bizarrely claimed that more “rules” were needed to keep social media safe from wealthy people like Musk.

“So one of the things we need is we need rules so that you can leave the Twitter platform and go to a competitor’s platform and still be able to reach each other," Warren said at the time.

"Right now what we’ve got in tech is we don’t have that kind of competition. Rules of the road could help facilitate that kind of competition and, frankly, break the stranglehold of someone like Elon Musk coming in and just owning the whole thing," she added.

Mike Pence Praises Elon Musk’s Plan to Release Censorship Files

December 1st, 2022 9:40 AM

Former Vice President Mike Pence praised Twitter owner Elon Musk’s decision to release internal Twitter files related to censorship on the platform.

Pence joined the panelists of the Fox News Channel’s Outnumbered to discuss Musk’s decision to release internal files on the suppression of the Hunter Biden laptop scandal in 2020.

“I think it may well be because Elon Musk, who I came to know very well during the four years of the Trump administration, I think it’s because he is preparing to release information, finally, about the suppression of the Hunter Biden story, which … was a disgrace,” Pence said.

He added that the public deserved to know the truth about the “deeply offensive” censorship.

“The fact that a laptop was discovered in the weeks before the election, that emails were revealed and that social media platforms, including Twitter, actually suppressed access to a New York Post story is deeply offensive to me,” he said.

For his part, Musk said the files would be released to give the American people the truth.

“The Twitter Files on free speech suppression soon to be published on Twitter itself,” he tweeted. “The public deserves to know what really happened.”

Pence also expressed apparent concern that the Biden administration seems to be monitoring the new changes at Twitter, one of which includes ending one-sided censorship.

"The suggestion that the P resident of the United States is keeping a close eye on any element of the media is deeply offensive to me."

Although their politics differ, Pence said anyone who believes in free speech can get behind Musk’s new pro-free speech policies on the platform.

"The foundation of America is freedom. The freedom of speech, free and independent press, is a bulwark of why this nation is extraordinary and exceptional," he said. "Elon Musk’s politics are different than mine, but he has a bias for freedom, a bias for American innovation. I know he's going to bring that to Twitter."
