Fifth Bus of Migrants Arrives in LA From Texas
A fifth busload of migrants relocated by state officials in Texas arrived in the self-proclaimed sanctuary city of Los Angeles this weekend.
"The city has continued to work with city departments, the county, and a coalition of nonprofit organizations, in addition to our faith partners, to execute a plan set in place earlier this year," the office of Democratic mayor Karen Bass said. "As we have before, when we became aware of the bus yesterday, we activated our plan."
Forty-eight migrants arrived in the city on Saturday, including 18 minors. The migrants were taken to a local school and medically examined.
It's the fifth bus to arrive from the border towns of Texas in the last month. The first bus arrived in the city on June 14.
"Texas just dropped off the 1st bus of migrants in Los Angeles," Texas governor Greg Abbott (R.) tweeted on June 14. "Small Texas border towns remain overrun & overwhelmed because Biden refuses to secure the border."
Abbott pointed to the Democrat-led city's "self-declared sanctuary status" as justification for his state's role in transporting the migrants.
"LA is a city migrants seek to go to," Abbott said in June, "particularly now its leaders approved its self-declared sanctuary status."
California governor Gavin Newsom (D.) has advertised that his state welcomes migrants. "Let me be clear, @realDonaldTrump: California is a sanctuary state," he tweeted in 2018. "We believe in the power of diversity. We have defied and resisted the xenophobic, hateful policies of your administration at every turn. We will do it again."
Texas's move comes as Abbott is set to battle the Biden administration in court over the installation of buoys with underwater netting in parts of the Rio Grande river to deter illegal migrant crossings.
The Department of Justice threatened to sue Texas if it did not remove the barriers, which are anchored to the riverbed. The buoys are set to cover 1,000 feet of the river near Eagle Pass, an area where Border Patrol agents reported the second-highest migrant crossing numbers this year. The first netting devices were set up earlier this month.
"Texas has the sovereign authority to defend our border, under the U.S. Constitution and the Texas Constitution," Abbott tweeted on Friday. "We will see you in court, Mr. President."

Sanctuary City Los Angeles Protects Nearly 800 Criminal Illegal Aliens from Deportation in 2022
The sanctuary city of Los Angeles, California, is bragging about its policy protecting nearly 800 criminal illegal aliens from arrest and deportation by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency last year.
A report issued by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) reveals the extent to which city officials impose a strict sanctuary policy to shield criminal illegal aliens from being turned over to ICE agents, even when they are arrested for local crimes.
In 2022, the LAPD received 783 detainers from ICE — requests that criminal illegal aliens be turned over to the federal agency for arrest and deportation. In every case, the ICE detainer was ignored and likely hundreds of those in police custody were directly released back into the community.
LAPD officials claim public safety is their “top priority,” despite the sanctuary policy.
“Our ongoing focus is to ensure the victims and witnesses are not afraid to contact the police, report crime or become witnesses as necessary, regardless of their immigration status,” LAPD officials said.
Sanctuary city proponents, like the LAPD, often claim the policy is necessary to ensure illegal alien crime victims report such crimes to the police. Research, though, has shown that sanctuary policies do not boost crime reporting among illegal aliens.
The report comes as the Los Angeles City Council recently moved to codify its sanctuary policy into its local ordinances. Already, city officials are required to abide by California’s sanctuary state policy.
California, today, has the nation’s largest illegal alien population, with nearly 3.3 million illegal aliens residing across the sanctuary state. This is an illegal population larger than the resident populations of 20 states, including Nevada, Idaho, Arkansas, Kansas, New Mexico, and Iowa.

Border Encounters Quadruple Under Biden's Watch, CBP Data Show
The number of aliens trying to enter the U.S. monthly has quadrupled during the Biden Administration – and that doesn’t even count those who slip into the country without encountering border agents – analysis of U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) data reveals.
During the Trump Administration, an average of 50,789 aliens were encountered at the border by the CBP.
Under the watch of Pres. Joe Biden and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro N. Mayorkas (February 2021-June 2023), that average is nearly four times higher: 193,337.
Police: Mexican National Viciously Murdered Three Dallas Women
A Mexican national has been accused in the possible serial murders of three women in Dallas, Texas, and dumping their bodies along a river.
Twenty-five-year-old Oscar Sanchez Garcia allegedly targeted prostitutes and left their bodies near the Trinity River between April and July, the New York Post reported Friday.
Authorities arrested the suspect on Wednesday, per the Dallas Police Department.
“The preliminary investigation identified Sanchez Garcia as the suspect through evidence gathered by detectives. He will be charged with three counts of murder,” the agency said.
His bail has reportedly been set at $4 million.
The man is being held on an immigration detainer while officials try to determine his legal status, according to the Post.
Surveillance footage, vehicle information, cell phone records, and DNA from sexual assault kits helped law enforcement pinpoint the suspect.
Officials said, “Kimberly Robinson, 60, was discovered dead on April 22, on the same block of Santa Fe Avenue where 25-year-old Cherish Gibson was found weeks later on June 24,” the Post article noted, adding authorities are trying to identify the third woman who was found dead on Saturday near the other victims.
Robinson’s daughter told WFAA she is relieved the man accused of stabbing her mother to death has been found, noting her mother was deeply loved.
“I just prayed a lot that this day would come. Unfortunately, I’m sad that two more people had to lose their lives before he was caught,” she said. “Regardless of the lifestyle, nobody deserves that,” she continued:
The outlet noted law enforcement said two of the three victims have ties to prostitution.
During a recent interview regarding the case, a sex trafficking victim told WFAA, “When you dehumanize a person to the point they become a commodity, that means now you’re just a product to someone that is to be paid for, used, and discarded.”
WFAA reported Thursday a passerby found Robinson underneath a bridge, naked from the waist down, and stabbed.
Two months later, a man driving along a gravel road in the area thought he drove his vehicle over a chain, but it turned out to be Gibson’s body, which was also partially naked and appeared to have stab wounds.
A man walking his dog later found the third victim.
Not long before Robinson’s body was located, Garcia was arrested for hitting his wife after she allegedly used his bank card to buy diapers, the outlet said:
In other news, an illegal alien accused of murder has been identified among the approximately 2.2 million illegals released into the United States as President Joe Biden’s (D) Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas stands watch, Breitbart News reported July 6.
The man is 31-year-old Miguel Angel Genao, and the article noted, “The Biden administration has released into American communities others wanted for murder.”
A Cold Border War Breaks Out Between Abbott’s Texas and Biden’s White House
A Democratic legislator in California said in a Los Angeles Times op-ed that his own party’s big spending is not solving the state’s problems.
"As many Californians know, we’ve already spent billions of dollars on the same problems—with very little to show for it," state senator Steve Glazer wrote in the Times earlier this month. "Our failures are evidence that good intentions and lots of money are not enough to fix what ails the Golden State."
Glazer voted for California’s $310 billion annual budget bill, signed into law by Gov. Gavin Newsom (D.) last month. He said he supports initiatives funded by the bill but called for better methods to check whether the loads of cash are actually improving education, homelessness, and mental health services in the state.
His comments come as California continues to lose residents and businesses to other states while suffering rampant crime and rising homelessness. More than 350 companies left California between 2018 and 2021, according to the California Globe. Homicides rose in San Francisco for the fourth year in a row last year, and over half a million residents fled California in the two years after the pandemic’s start, according to the New York Post.
Glazer pointed to spending on affordable housing, public transit, and mental health services, saying that while investment in the areas was important, the state was not giving legislators the ability to evaluate results.
"To make our progressive beliefs mean anything, the Legislature must ensure that the money we spend is actually improving the lives of the people we say we are committed to helping," Glazer warned.

Two-thirds were from Mexico and Central America, 15% from Asia, 10% from South America and The Caribbean, and the rest from Europe, Canada, Africa, and Oceania. Most of those who entered without authorization came across the southern border and were from Mexico and Central America.
Did Governors Abbott and DeSantis Break The Illegal Immigration Camel’s Back?
It appears that Governors Abbott and DeSantis, by shipping illegal aliens to sanctuary blue cities, broke the back of that camel called “illegal immigration.” However, they couldn’t have done it if Democrat policies in the COVID era hadn’t already destabilized that poor camel.

Most of the illegals were adults, had been here more than 10 years by 2020, and were employed. Half were female, and 20% were married to Americans or permanent residents and had not yet adjusted their status. They arrived, found their way to a community, and made lives for themselves. There were still problems, some of which I wrote about earlier here. More than 90% of the illegals arrested on federal charges were already criminals. Many of them resided in sanctuary states or communities. Among them were serious, violent criminals who had been released by local authorities rather than held for pick-up by the feds in accordance with their sanctuary rules.
Most illegals lived under the radar, using false identities to get by and get jobs. That carries its own set of issues for America that I touched on here. But, by and large, they made themselves at home and took care of themselves. Given the great diversity of legal immigration over the decades, anyone coming to America can find a community that feels like home.
In fact, 60% of illegal aliens chose to live in just 20 metropolitan areas—all of them blue, almost all of them sanctuary cities. The New York metro area was #1 with about 20%, 1.1 million. Greater LA had 15%, 925,000. Then Houston, Dallas, Miami, DC, and Chicago with 500k, 475k, 425k, 425k, and 400k, respectively. After that, it trickles off. But for each of these communities, it is a significant percentage of the population, happily welcomed by local lawmakers and their constituents.

After Joe Biden’s advice to “surge” the border, and after all the Democrat candidates for president in 2019 raised their hand and promised free health care to illegals, almost everything changed. Most estimates are that 7 million have arrived since the 2021 inauguration. I would guess that the number of illegals in this country has doubled. No matter where they arrive or where they are transported in the dead of night by the federal government or federally funded NGOs, they eventually still make their way to communities that feel like home. New York, California, Texas, and Florida are their primary chosen destinations, and many will have connections there already.
However, blue state governors and other local officials, with the encouragement of the federal government, brought us lockdowns and destroyed small business America over the past couple of years. That’s where many illegals routinely found employment. Even the ones admitted as potential asylees with work permits still must find a job. Inflation brought to you by Bidenomics has increased the price of everything—food, housing, transportation, clothing, entertainment, etc. Many illegals are entering with the intent to make a career of “program shopping”; that is, searching for government and charity programs that will provide what they need without having to work.
Sanctuary cities changed from being simply a place where the local authorities won’t report an illegal to ICE and began to provide comprehensive life-support services to these criminals. Why, I do not know. However, none of us are unaware that we have veterans and disabled Americans living in abject poverty. Our own population of substance-addicted, mentally ill homeless has less available to them than these new arrivals do. This galls many Americans, even Democrats.
Besides unemployment, the high cost of living in these urban areas has caused an exodus of taxpayers from these very cities to redder areas of the country. Many conservatives who were hanging on in places they called home let go and are making new lives for themselves and paying taxes elsewhere. A tidal wave of illegal aliens—straining city resources (as was predicted before this all happened) and increasing demands on public health, law enforcement, and overall infrastructure—has arrived. And these same cities now have fewer workers paying taxes to cover all this, as well as the typically bloated and overpaid Dem-area administrations.
Governor Abbot and Governor DeSantis were genius in paying the way for illegal aliens to the places they would rather be—New York, Chicago, Washington DC… It’s been a very public statement that those who invited and encouraged this mass movement of humanity should certainly stand behind their stand and pay for it. After several thousand illegal… But wait! How many did the feds and their NGO partners transport to those cities before the two governors acted? Those figures are nowhere to be found. This was on top of the ones already there, plus the ones from the recent influx who made their own way to preferred destinations.
So, we’ve got the illegals already safe harbored in these large blue metro areas. Then, the leading Ds in the country, including the future president, invite as many to come as can make their way here. Then, hundreds of thousands are transported from border areas by the Biden Administration. And now, New York’s Mayor Adams is saying they have reached “full capacity.” DC’s Mayor Bowser says their infrastructure is overloaded. They are blaming Abbott and DeSantis when it is they themselves and Biden that have done this. The Republican governors merely put the garnish on the plate.
Is it possible that border restrictions will finally be toughened up because of the outcry from these very prominent Democrat party members? It is our best hope—until the conservatives retake the administration, that is. Something for which we should all fervently pray.
