In 2021, President Biden set the refugee ceiling at 15,000 -- the lowest since the passage of the 1980 Refugee Act, which sets the parameters for the current refugee resettlement system. That ceiling was later raised to 65,000 after faith groups protested.
This past year, the ceiling was set at 125,000 -- however, the U.S. only resettled about 60,000 refugees in fiscal year 2023, according to the “Closed Doors” report.
As Biden treats his brother and sister Christians with the same distain recognized so often in his old boss, then what hope do we have for his treatment of the Jews?
Israel is not only fighting Hamas. Israel is fighting for the future of Western culture and values, according to MK Sharren Haskel.
The chair of the Knesset Christian Allies Caucus and a prominent international advocate for Israel, Haskel, last week led a small delegation of Knesset members and ambassadors on a visit to southern Israel. Her purpose extended beyond showcasing the harrowing destruction in Israel's kibbutzim; it was to engage in a crucial discussion about the potential consequences should Israel not emerge victorious in its war against Hamas.
"We are preventing an international intifada," Haskel told The Jerusalem Post. "In America, Paris, Barcelona, they [extremist Muslims] are chanting for the massacre and murder of people who do not believe in Islam but believe in Western values.
“"The Christians were the most persecuted minority in the Middle East," she continued. "They are almost done with the Christians. Obviously, the Jews are next."
Biden’s nod and wink towards the recent violent demonstrations in D.C. and elsewhere, notably in areas of larger Muslim populations, in support of the “Palestinians,” is what we should have expected; we can expect a good deal more.
What has Biden done to get the Israeli hostages released? Well, what has he done to get the Americans trapped in Gaza home? He has proposed “pauses” in the war to complete these tasks. Hamas will not pause. If there is anything strategic in that notion, it is a strategy to benefit Hamas.
Why did the Biden administration call for a ceasefire? The retraction of the call is trivial; but not as trivial as the rationale: a ceasefire to get the hostages released? How many times have we seen this movie? Terrorists do not negotiate, even a child would understand the essential irony of that position.
Biden held ‘listening sessions’ for the White House staff -- really, soft protests against Israel -- on October 13, not even two weeks after the Hamas massacre:

The Biden White House is not lacking in Obama holdovers and/or radical Muslim sympathizers.

But Israel withdrew completely from Gaza in 2005 – and Gazans decided to try destroying our state, not build theirs. That’s why Hamas raided Israeli villages within the Green Line, the 1949 armistice lines. That provides moral clarity – especially because no one deserves to suffer what Israel’s civilians endured.
Biden’s responses to Hamas might be called trite if they were not clearly appeasement. If Christians and Jews dismiss the writing on the wall, we may soon taste and see a personal share of the violent tragedies and injustices that radical Muslim hatred levels at any creed except its own.

Lawyers, guns, and money (and speech): How Democrats steal our constitutional rights
One of the most basic legal premises is that the government cannot do indirectly that which it is barred from doing directly. However, in Washington, D.C., and across America, Democrats are using indirect means to destroy our constitutional rights.
If you’re reading this post, I’m betting that you’re aware of the Twitter files, which revealed that the Deep State was working closely with Big Tech to censor content about Russiagate, COVID, the vaccinations, and Biden family corruption. Therefore, I won’t rehash that. However, if you haven’t seen Tucker Carlson’s most recent interview, this one with Douglass Mackey, you don’t know that the administration is also using its police powers to silence political speech.
Douglass Mackey is the man who posted a joke on Twitter telling people to text their votes for Hillary. It was a joke identical to posts that Democrats were putting up regarding voting for Trump. However, unlike the Democrats, Mackey was hunted down. Seven days into the Biden administration, he was on the receiving end of an FBI raid and staring at 11 years in prison for election interference. The fact that there was no evidence that anyone, even a Democrat, was stupid enough to take his joke seriously was irrelevant. Watch this video and be horrified:
In Democrat-run America, political jokes will get you arrested. So, while the Democrats haven’t succeeded in amending the Constitution to remove the First Amendment, they have engaged in policies that effectively chill political speech. They have done directly that which they cannot do directly.

The Democrats have also waged relentless war on the Second Amendment. They cannot seize all arms directly, much as they wish they could. However, they keep trying to constrain people’s rights, with initiatives that include limiting the types of guns people can have (“the ‘assault weapon’ bans”), access to guns (no concealed carry licenses), alterations to guns (pistol braces), and the age at which people can have guns (old enough to vote but too young for a weapon).
So far, for most of these efforts, bad legislation has expired, or good judges have ruled that the efforts are unconstitutional. However, that doesn’t stop the government from trying. As Olivia Murray wrote just yesterday, the latest effort at the federal level is to limit access to ammunition. You see, they’re not banning guns; they’re just making them ineffective. They are trying to do indirectly that which they cannot do directly.
At least these attacks on the Second Amendment are out in the open. What’s much more insidious is the Democrat effort to destroy the Sixth Amendment’s right to legal counsel:
In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to…the assistance of counsel for his defense.
We understand that this right to counsel extends to any foray we make into the courtroom, whether voluntary or not.
To date, the Democrats haven’t amended the Constitution to remove that right, nor would they want to. It’s important for Democrats and their voting blocs to have attorneys. However, they desperately want to make it impossible for their political opponents to have attorneys, whether in civil or criminal matters.
Because they cannot do that directly, leftists do it indirectly by going after the attorneys who work for their political enemies, seeking either to disbar them (e.g., John Eastman) or criminally indict them (e.g., Jenna Ellis) for daring to advance arguments with which Democrats disagree. Disfavored individuals like Derek Chauvin also have an almost impossible time finding legal counsel.
The threat to a lawyer’s livelihood and liberty has a chilling effect (really, more of a freezing effect) that makes it impossible for conservatives to find legal counsel when the government goes after them. This is especially troubling when you remember that John Adams, America’s second president and a fanatic patriot, nevertheless successfully represented the British soldiers accused of murder in connection with the Boston massacre. He understood that, when facing the might of the government, which is judge, jury, and executioner, everyone, no matter what the accusations against him, needs a knowledgeable friend at his side.
As for unconstitutionally taking money, under Article I, the government is allowed to take your money only via taxes that originated in the House and were approved by the Senate. However, the massive inflation Biden’s policies have triggered constitutes taxation outside the constitutional process. Per Milton Friedman, “inflation is a form of taxation without representation,” as people are forced into ever higher tax brackets even as their purchasing power diminishes.
In posting his Douglass Mackey video, Tucker Carlson (or his team) wrote “The First Amendment is done.” Through the connivance of the Democrat party, the Deep State, and the Biden administration, the Second Amendment, the Sixth Amendment, and Article I are done, too. If we don’t push back hard in the next election, our wonderful, unique, and liberty-oriented Constitution will have been rendered meaningless.
ZOA Slams ‘Monstrous’ Obama for Legitimizing ‘Unspeakable Hamas Horrors’
Barack Obama is a “monstrous and dangerous Jew-hater and Israel-hater who must be condemned, deligitimized, and removed from polite society.” That was the verdict delivered Tuesday by Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) head Morton Klein, who accused the former president of “falsely and outrageously legitimizing the unspeakable Hamas horrors” with his “grotesque, antisemitic, and dangerous” remarks against Israel all while being “the primary person making decisions for the Biden administration.”
Speaking with Breitbart News, Klein, who has headed the nation’s oldest pro-Israel organization for two decades, denounced as a “grotesque, antisemitic, dangerous, and heartless lie” Obama’s latest remarks conveying that “the ‘intolerable’ occupation is what caused the Muslim Arab terror group Hamas to massacre, rape, torture, and behead” over 1,400 Jews of all ages.
“His proclaiming that Israel’s appropriate and necessary military response ‘will backfire’ is a tragic and frightening attempt to protect the Muslim terrorists of Hamas,” he said, noting that the “Nazi ideology was destroyed militarily after World War II when no one admitted to ever having been a Nazi.”
The ZOA leader argued the former president was “the most anti-Israel president in the White House ever,” a position he claims “stemmed from his Jew hatred” which is evident from his history.
“He attended Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s antisemitic church for 22 years; he helped his friend preacher Louis Farrakhan organize the Million Man March; his closest friend was University of Chicago’s Israel-basher Rashid Khalidi; he refused to veto UN Security Council Resolution 2334 stating all the land past the 1967 line is occupied Arab land; he compared Israel’s treatment of Palestinians to Nazi treatment of Jews in a speech to a Muslim brotherhood university in Cairo; and he gave us a deal with Israel-hating Iran which allows Tehran to legally obtain nukes in 13 years after signing,” he said.
According to Klein, Obama never left Washington “in order to continue to work his influence and ideology in DC.”
“He is the primary person making decisions for the Biden administration, as evidenced by the large number of Obama friends gaining important posts in the current administration,” he noted.
Highlighting Hamas’ official charter which “unconditionally calls for the murder of every Jew on earth and Israel’s destruction,” Klein noted that “there has been zero occupation in Gaza since 2005, when all 9,000 Jews — civilian and soldier — were cruelly and forcibly removed from there.”
“There is also no occupation in Judea and Samaria [the West Bank],” he added. “Israel gave Palestinian Leader Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian Arabs 40 percent of Judea and Samaria. They have their own parliament, schools, teachers, textbooks, police force, businesses, and more.”
Klein explained that “the only thing Israel jointly controls with the Palestinians is security,” and that is only due to “constant Arab terror cells evolving there.”
“They run their own lives,” he stated. “Israel allows tens of thousands of Gaza and Judea and Samaria Palestinians to enter Israel to work and earn a good living.”
“That’s why there are checkpoints,” he added.
The pro-Israel activist went on to define the term “occupation,” which he said entails when “one country illegally stole someone else’s sovereign land.”
However, he noted, “there was never a sovereign country of Palestine.”
“It was a region renamed by the Romans from Judea and Samaria to ‘Palestine’ in order to antagonize the Jews,” he said. “Jews are from Judea; Arabs are from Arabia.”
“If it’s Arab land why does it have the Roman name of ‘Palestine’” he asked, remarking that Arabs have difficulty pronouncing the letter “P” and thus call it “Balestine.”
Asserting that “there are no Palestinian kings or queens,” Klein cited the legendary author Mark Twain who wrote in Innocents Abroad in the late 1800s that “this was barren land with no people.”
He also pointed to the four times the Palestinian Arabs were offered a State in the last twenty years, or “eight times in the last 80 years.”

“They turned it down every time without a counteroffer because it required accepting Israel as a Jewish State, proving Palestinian war is not about statehood but about the Jewish state’s existence,” he stated.
“The first statehood offer was the Peel commission in 1937 and then UN resolution 181 in 1947–48 to Prime Minister Ehud Barak’s offers in 2000–01 and Ehud Olmert in 2006 offering a Palestinian state,” he added.
He then accused Obama of “falsely and outrageously legitimizing the unspeakable Hamas horrors by giving credence to an erroneous basis for it.”
Klein insisted such moves “will only strengthen, energize, embolden and inspire Islamic terrorist groups to continue to pursue their Nazi-like ambitions as if there is some ‘noble purpose’ to rid the world of the evil Jews ‘ruining’ and ‘polluting’ every aspect of society.”
He concluded by deeming the former president a “monstrous and dangerous Jew-hater and Israel-hater who must be condemned, deligitimized and removed from polite society.”
“His evil intentions for Jews and the world must be finally exposed and eliminated,” he added.
Klein’s remarks follow former President Barack Obama telling his former staffers on the Pod Save America Saturday that “all of us are complicit to some degree” in the violence in Gaza, as he appeared to describe a moral equivalence between Hamas murdering Israelis and the Israeli “occupation” of Gaza.
However, Gaza has not been “occupied” by Israel since 2005, when Israel withdrew all of its soldiers and civilians in a “disengagement” that aimed to reduce violence in the region.
Hamas responded by launching thousands of rockets at Israel and starting several wars.
Though last month, in the wake of the October 7 massacre, which saw Hamas perpetrate the worst terrorist attack in Israel’s history last month, Obama said that Israel must “dismantle” Hamas, he has since spent the last several weeks backtracking, in the face of anti-Israel (and antisemitic) activism emanating from the “progressive” left.
In response to Obama’s comments, the Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) issued a blistering response, accusing the former president of being “complicit” in terror and war.
The October 7 attack saw Hamas terrorists gun down hundreds of young participants at an outdoor music festival while others hunted Jewish men, women, and children in local towns, who were then subjected to torture, rape, execution, immolation, and kidnapping.
The onslaught resulted in more than 1,400 dead inside the Jewish state, over 5,300 more wounded, and at least 241 hostages of all ages taken.
The vast majority of the victims are civilians and include dozens of American citizens.

Former President Barack Obama came out swinging in favor of Joe Biden this weekend despite the fact that Democrats have begun to sour on his 2024 candidacy.
In a post on X, Obama shared a video of Joe Biden celebrating the 15-year anniversary of their 2008 victory — the night Barack Obama became the first black president with Joe Biden as his vice president.
“For eight years, [Biden] and I worked to deliver change for the American people. I couldn’t have asked for a better Vice President and friend — and we’ll always be thankful to all the campaign staff and Administration alumni who helped bring that progress to folks across the country. Yes we can. Yes we did,” Obama emphatically declared.

Obama’s statement in favor of Joe Biden marks a sharp turn from various members of the Democrat Party who have called for Biden to avoid reelection and pass the torch to the younger generation in fear that he could lose to Donald Trump. As the Hill noted on Sunday:
Former President Obama’s senior adviser David Axelrod on Sunday suggested President Biden drop out of the 2024 presidential race in the wake of a new poll showing the incumbent trailing former President Trump.
Pointing to a New York Times and Siena College poll published Sunday, Axelrod wrote on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter: “It’s very late to change horses; a lot will happen in the next year that no one can predict & Biden’s team says his resolve to run is firm.”
Arguing Biden is “justly proud of his accomplishments,” Axelrod said Biden’s poll numbers will “send tremors of doubt” through the Democratic Party. “Not ‘bed-wetting,’” but legitimate concern, Axelrod wrote.
This past October, comedian Bill Maher even called on Biden to drop out of the 2024 race, fearing he could tarnish his reputation like former Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg did when she refused to retire during Obama’s presidency.
“Someone has to convince President Biden that if he runs again, he’s going to turn the country back over to Trump and go … down in history as Ruth Bader Biden, the person who doesn’t know when to quit and so does great damage to their party and their country,” Maher said last month.
Even hardcore Never Trumpers like Bill Kristol have called for Biden to step down.
“It’s time. President Biden has served our country well. I’m confident he’ll do so for the next year. But it’s time for an act of personal sacrifice and public spirit. It’s time to pass the torch to the next generation. It’s time for Biden to announce he won’t run in 2024,” Kristol said over the weekend.
