A mob of migrants in the sanctuary city of New York City, New York, mercilessly attacked New York Police Department (NYPD) officers on Tuesday. After the migrants were arrested, they were released from jail without having to pay a dime in bail.

According to the New York Daily News, the migrants were approached by three NYPD officers in Midtown Manhattan outside of a taxpayer-funded migrant shelter. All of the migrants, according to reports, are living in the taxpayer-funded shelters set up by Mayor Eric Adams (D).

Footage of the attack shows the mob ruthlessly beating the officers, including kicking them in the head and back, because officers attempted to put one of the migrants under arrest.

The officers were treated at the scene of the attack while. following a manhunt throughout the area, two 19-year-old migrants, a 21-year-old migrant, and a 24-year-old migrant were arrested and charged with assaulting police.

The four migrants were all released from jail without bail thanks to a New York state law that ensures that suspects charged with crimes deemed “nonviolent” and many violent crimes are not eligible to pay bail.

“Illegals can walk across the border, beat up cops in NYC and be released without bail,” Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) said of the attack. “This is a national embarrassment. Deport the illegals and close the border!”

Republican Alison Esposito, running for Congress in New York’s 18th congressional district, said New Yorkers “are living in an upside-down world” thanks to waves of illegal immigration coupled with bail reform.

“Our leaders have created a system where criminals are protected over law-abiding citizens, and illegal migrants are prioritized over police officers,” Esposito said. “New York Democrats have embraced pro-criminal laws that embolden criminals, effectively surrendering our streets to lawlessness.”

Since the spring of 2022, close to 200,000 border crossers and illegal aliens have arrived in New York City and more than 67,000 remain living off the taxpayer dime in city-run shelters.

Sancutary cities and their suburbs are experiencing a crime wave from migrants who are released by the Biden administration after illegally crossing the border between ports of entry. Police, particularly in the Chicago area and New York City, reported significant increases in crime related to migrants relocated to their cities.

The police chief of Oak Brook, Illinois, a suburb of the sanctuary city of Chicago, is reporting a series of crimes being committed by migrants who the Biden administration released after they illegally crossed the border between ports of entry. Oak Brook Police Chief Brian Strokis reported six felony arrests of migrants in a single day and a total of 49 migrant arrests since October 23.

“I believe that six felony arrests in one day illustrates that migrant criminal activity is a real problem,” Chief Strockis said in a statement released by DuPage County. “The amount of these types of arrests that we have had in the last couple of months is significant and would be taxing for any police department. We are well prepared to continue our enforcement efforts and I can assure you that there are easier places to commit these crimes than Oak Brook or DuPage County.”

DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Belin announced the felony charges against the migrants after two separate incidents in a Macy’s store located in Oak Brook. The incidents involved migrants from Chile and Venezuela. Judge Joshua Dieden denied the State’s motion to detain the migrants without bond in both cases.

The apparently organized migrant group brought magnetic devices to remove anti-theft devices from merchandise before loading it into suitcases and removing more than $10,000 worth of merchandise from the Macy’s store, prosecutors reported. The second incident involved the alleged theft of nearly $1,000 in merchandise.

Chief Strockis told Fox News they arrested 47 migrants since October 23. While on the air with Fox News on Tuesday, Strokis said he had just received word of the arrest of two more Venezuelan migrants for alleged theft activities. The chief said there have been at least 175 migrant arrests in Oak Brook during the past year — mostly for property crimes, NewsBreak reported.

In December, The Federation for American Immigration Reform, FAIR, reported an 11,000 percent increase in the arrest of Venezuelan migrants in Chicago since the border crisis began. FAIR reported:

According to police data obtained by CWBChicago, there were just six arrests of Venezuelan-born people in 2021 and 26 in 2022. Now, as of November 12 this year, Chicago PD has arrested 686 Venezuelans, representing an 11,333% increase over 2021.

2023’s numbers are only through November 12, leaving the second half of November and the entire month of December to add to the 686 arrests.

The migrant crime wave is not limited to the Chicago area. New York State Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis posted a video on X showing a group of migrants attacking two NYPD officers who were attempting to disperse a crowd near Times Square.

“The video released last night capturing the assault of two NYPD officers by a group of illegal migrants in Times Square is infuriating and a horrifying example of why Mayor Adams needs to stop misinterpreting ‘Right to Shelter’ and put an end to our city’s migrant crisis once and for all,” Malliotakis wrote. “As migrants continue to commit crimes all over our city, including murder, stabbings, robberies, prostitution and assault, the city is refusing to cooperate with federal detainer and deportation requests from Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Republicans, Democrats & Independents should, at the very least, be able to agree that migrants who assault our police or commit crimes in our country should be deported immediately and have any future immigration application denied.”

The New York Post reported that migrants are turning to pickpocketing in the Big Apple, causing major problems for the NYPD and possibly leading to the assault case above. A staffer for a Red Lion told the Post that teams of migrants hit the area during peak pedestrian traffic times on Friday and Saturday.

One frustrated NYPD officer told the Post, “We have a hard enough time going after actual New Yorkers committing crime. Now we have to deal with a whole different subset of people who arrive here with no means of support, no legal means of working or opportunity.”

New York City is currently housing more than 67,000 migrants in hotels out of the more than 172,000 migrants transported to the city since the spring of 2022 after being released by the Biden Administration from the border region. Texas Governor Greg Abbott did not begin busing migrants to New York City until August of that year, according to the governor’s office. Since the start of that transportation program, Texas has moved more than 37,500 migrants to New York City.

Angry black residents in Chicago demand an end to its sanctuary city policy

Are black voters turning on Democrats over the open border?

Has common sense finally come to Chicago?

According to Legal Insurrection:

Now that the true scope of the illegal immigration crisis is descending on “Sanctuary Cities” and “Sanctuary States,” some Democrats are now clamoring for the designation–and it’s associated policies–to be ended.

Take Chicago, for example.

Government employee Cata Truss told “Fox News @ Night” Democrat voters like her are growing increasingly frustrated with the party’s handling of the issue.

“There is no moneys to take care of the migrants, nor is there moneys to take care of the people that are there. And so we have a mess on our hands,” Truss said Wednesday.

Truss argued Windy City residents are upset over low income communities and schools being “divested in” while funds are used for the care of migrants instead.

“This is the sentiment from the city of Chicago: We would like to have our status as a sanctuary city removed,” she said. “We would also like to see a better plan in place.”

Chicago's sanctuary city status has hit the black community hardest, what with parks and rec centers shut down and funds taken from community projects to pay for illegals, so now voices are arising, not for the federal government to shovel more cash for illegals, which is the standard Democrat line from blue cities, but for the actual law to be changed, ending Chicago's sanctuary city status.

And what's a significant concern for black voters in this election: Illegal immigration. I know I've seen polls revealing stronger sentiment than this, but this recent poll, from KFF/GRIO on top issues for black voters found that 34% of black voters considered immigration, likely illegal, immigration, a leading issue, echoing the sentiments of other voters.

There's nothing 'out there' about Fifty Cent's criticism of California's free health care for all illegal comers. The problem is the insular ruling class that doles out these goodies, and lets black voters absorb the higher costs in taxes and insurance premiums as a result of it.

The man is immensely popular and influential. Now he's condemning the irresponsibility of free stuff for foreigners. Democrats can take that as a warning.

Leading black voices from popular culture, such as rap superstar 50 Cent, top radio host Charlamagne Tha God, and now rap legend Snoop Dogg have either blasted open borders or else declared respect for President Trump. The latter is noteworthy because he had been vehemently opposed to Trump and his admiring statements now indicate that he's hearing from people in his own community. The word out is that open borders are harming black people and President Trump is who these voters are looking to for leadership and a way out.

Illegal migrants not only chase Chicagoans out of their own parks and rec centers, and actually, airports now, they are actually chasing black Chicagoans out of their city, too, making the great replacement theory promoted by Republicans as the rationale for the open borders as a black and white and every race issue, one of foreigners versus citizens. Blacks are hardest hit, not just in their communities but in seeing migrants get free stuff while they go without, in being on the receiving end of migrant crime, and in jobs driving wages down for those on the lowest rungs of the economic ladder, which is often black people. In some cases, and I've heard this firsthand from actual black construction workers, they actually drive black people out of their own jobs, given that many construction job requirements include mastery of the Spanish language, but not mastery of English. You can see why they'd see the injustice there.

They see migrants coming first in every priority and black people forced to go to the back of the bus. See the angry community meetings of blacks speaking out against migrants on YouTube -- here, here and here.

So it's no surprise that now there's a movement afoot to end Chicago's sanctuary city status. Somebody's benefiting from it, but it's not them, and it's done by abrogating the law, just as surely as crossing the border illegally abrogates the law. Rightly, they are speaking out, and their voice sare growing louder. They see where the root of the problem is. Rightly, they want it gone.

New Migrant Caravan Leaves Southern Mexico Headed North

A new migrant caravan began walking through southern Mexico to make their way north toward the U.S. border, where some have expressed the expectation of crossing illegally and then requesting asylum or protection. Prior caravans disbanded once they reached Mexico City or along the way when government officials gave them certain travel documents and allowed them to get on buses or airplanes.

The new caravan, which is still in its early stages, is made up of approximately 1,800 migrants. The group began moving through the southern state of Chiapas, near the Mexican-Guatemalan border. The group is expected to journey northwest through Chiapas toward the state of Oaxaca. The group began organizing earlier this week and posted signs around the city parks and migrant shelters in Tapachula, Chiapas, announcing a start date of January 25. However, more migrants are expected to join the group in the coming days.

As in prior caravans, migrants have been carrying white wooden crosses and banners with messages claiming that immigration is not illegal and condemning governments that are not open to migrants.

Local government officials set up shelters and rest stops along the way to provide the migrants with food and water, while Mexican authorities have been escorting the migrants to keep them safe.

The new caravan comes at a time when U.S. border cities have been seeing record-setting numbers of migrants arriving and requesting asylum. The record-setting numbers have led to much controversy between the Biden administration and the Texas government.

Immigration Officials Met With Leading ‘Abolish ICE’ Organization Amid Border Surge

Senior Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials met with an activist group that wants to eliminate the agency altogether amidst the worst border crisis in the nation’s history.

Representatives from an organization called the "Detention Watch Network," met with ICE on Jan. 26, according to an agency press release, as part of a "stakeholders" meeting. Three other left-wing organizations were also in attendance.

The Detention Watch Network bills itself as a "national coalition building power through collective advocacy, grassroots organizing, and strategic communications to abolish immigration detention in the United States." Eliminating the detention of illegal aliens, the group believes, is "part and parcel of struggles against racism, xenophobia, discriminatory policing, and mass incarceration."

The meeting comes as officials on the southern border contend with a record number of illegal crossings. President Joe Biden claims he has done "all I can do" to fix the problem. Law enforcement have encountered more than 5.5 million illegal aliens since Biden took office and have released the majority of them into the United States.

"It’s one thing to meet with nonprofits with a diversity of viewpoints, but this is the equivalent to the National Forest Service meeting with arsonists," said Jon Feere, a senior fellow at the Center for Immigration Studies.

The Detention Watch Network is a leader in the "Abolish Ice" movement. Less than a week after the 2020 election, the organization tweeted that "[w]e must remain steadfast to dismantle the systems in this country that are rooted in white supremacy. … That means abolishing ICE and immigration detention."

ICE explained that its meeting with the Detention Watch Network was part of an effort to provide "open lines of communication with stakeholders regarding its mission and operations." The agency did not respond to a request for comment.

In addition to its day-to-day activism, the Detention Watch Network has doled out hundreds of thousands of dollars in grants since 2022 to grassroots organizations that target ICE detention facilities across the country. Those groups include La Resistencia, which states it works "to end the detention of immigrants and stop all deportations."

Immigrant deportations have plummeted since Biden took office. In comparison to the Trump administration, according to a report from the Center for Immigration Studies, there has been a 67 percent decrease in deportations of criminal aliens and a 57 percent decrease in arrests of criminal aliens. The deportation of illegal aliens convicted of sexual assault is down 26 percent and 17 percent for homicide.

Senate negotiators are finalizing a bipartisan deal that proponents say would alleviate the strain on the southern border. An outline of the deal obtained by the Free Beacon says automatic deportations at the southern border would take place after 5,000 illegal crossings are recorded a day for one week. The bill would not increase deportations of illegal aliens living in the United States.
