IT'S OFFICIAL - WHITE HOUSE LIES ASIDE, JOE BIDEN SURRENDERS ARIZONA'S BORDER TO NARCOMEX

Dem AZ Gov. Hobbs: ‘We Need Something’ from Biden on ‘Lawlessness at the Border’

During an interview with CNN aired on Friday’s broadcast of “NewsNight,” Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs (D) responded to a question on reports that President Joe Biden is considering stricter executive action on the border such as potentially preventing people who have crossed the border illegally from seeking asylum in the U.S. by saying that while she does wish Congress would have passed the Senate bill and administrations of both parties have failed to act on the border, her state needs some action from the Biden administration on the border to bring about “sanity and an end to the lawlessness at the border.”

Host Abby Phillip asked, “Gov. Hobbs, as a border state Governor, you’ve sent the National Guard down to the border. When you hear that President Biden might prevent people who cross the border illegally from seeking asylum in an effort to reduce the flow, is that what you’re looking for?”

Hobbs answered, “We need something. And we are dealing with decades of the inaction from both Republican and Democratic administrations, and now, certainly, Congress for refusing to pass this bipartisan legislation that was presented. Americans want sanity and an end to the lawlessness at the border.”

84-Year-Old Arizona Border Rancher Plagued by Mexican Cartel Activity

Jim Chilton and his ancestors have been involved in ranching in Arizona since the late 1800s. In recent years, the aging rancher has been forced to divide his time between running a successful cattle business and keeping a watchful eye out for cartel smuggling on his remote border ranch south of Arivaca, Arizona.

Chilton sometimes finds himself helping migrants in distress and, at other times, keeping a sharp eye out for the cartel smugglers and foot guides that push hundreds or thousands of migrants and narcotics across his land.

In a recent report by the Daily Mail, Chilton can be seen patrolling the remote desert ranch armed with a carbine he carries to protect himself and his family. The area where the Chilton ranch is located is known for the crossing of hundreds of migrants monthly, where Border Patrol agents have reduced routine patrols at times due to the increase in migrant crossings elsewhere.

The ranch sits between Nogales and Lukeville, Arizona, directly across the border from the Mexican state of Sonora — known for its violent Sinaloa cartel activity. Chilton told the Daily Mail his activities on the ranch are under constant surveillance by armed cartel members equipped with scoped rifles and night vision. The smugglers, Chilton says, routinely traffic people across his ranch into the United States.

Chilton says his dealings with the cartel have worsened over the last three years, but the illicit activity is nothing new to the seasoned cattle rancher. In 2018, nearly eight years ago, Chilton sat with the late Penny Starr, a Breitbart News reporter, to discuss what living on the ranch in the remote border area was like.

In her report for Breitbart News, Starr accompanied Chilton on a tour of the ranch as they discussed his experiences dealing with cartel operatives seeking to move migrants and narcotics into the United States. “Most of our ranch is occupied by the Sinaloa Cartel,” Chilton told Starr, referring to one of the most violent cartels operating in the region.

Chilton was dealing with similar cartel activities at that time, which have only worsened over the years.  Chilton told Breitbart News the cartel members were not only bringing drugs, weapons, and people across the border but the cartel scouts were also positioned on mountaintops to monitor for the presence of Border Patrol agents.

The level of migrant crossings in the area has spiked in recent months as efforts underway in Mexico have reduced the migrant flow farther east in Texas by up to 60% in some areas. The efforts in Mexico, mainly concentrated on removing migrants from freight train routes known as “La Bestia” or the beast, have little impact on the western states of Arizona and California. The increase in migrant crossings in Arizona may be a sign Chilton’s battle with the cartel is far from over.

A source within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, not authorized to speak to the media, told Breitbart Texas migrant apprehensions in the area have increased by nearly 120 percent during February as compared to the same time frame last year. In the first three weeks of the month, more than 33,000 migrants have been apprehended by the Border Patrol compared to slightly more than 15,000 during the first three weeks of February 2023.

Since the new fiscal year began in October, more than 284,000 migrants entered in and around Chilton’s ranch in the Tucson Sector. This total marks a 173 percent increase compared to last year’s total of 105,000 for the same time frame.

The source told Breitbart Texas “Thousands of migrants are willingly surrendering near Lukeville and San Miguel, dealing with that humanitarian situation keeps us from actively patrolling other areas like the Chilton Ranch where migrants are not surrendering and instead are hoping to completely avoid apprehension.”

Former Trump Aide Sam Nunberg: Trump Must Choose Running Mate Who Will Tackle Immigration

Former President Donald Trump must select a running mate who will serve as a “top adviser” on key issues — namely, immigration — former Trump aide Sam Nunberg said during an appearance on Breitbart News Saturday, expressing his belief that if Trump “runs a competent campaign, if he picks the right kind of vice president, if we’re able to focus on Biden — make it a referendum on Biden — Donald Trump should be able to win this election.”

Nunberg, who now backs Trump, first explained why he originally supported Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in the Republican primary race, as he “thought that after the midterm elections that DeSantis would be the most electable candidate.”

“I also made a strategic assumption that were Donald Trump to get the nomination, all these polls that we were seeing late last year showing President Trump with a large lead over Joe Biden would suddenly immediately flip, and Joe Biden’s numbers — his favorable numbers, his job performance numbers — would also suddenly, surprisingly…shoot up, and it would seem that it would be a very, very tenuous proposition for the Republicans heading into the fall,” he said.

“Frankly, I was dead wrong. I was 100 percent wrong,” he said. “Donald Trump, as of today, regardless of what you hear from anybody in the mainstream media…Donald Trump is the favorite. Were the election held today, Donald Trump would beat Joe Biden.”

“Now the election is not going to be held today, but what it does show is that the wind is at Donald Trump’s back, that Joe Biden is the weakest president heading into reelection in modern history,” he explained, pointing to the weaknesses of Vice President Kamala Harris as well.

“If you put people anonymously in polls, nobody thinks that Joe Biden did a better job on foreign policy. Nobody thinks Joe Biden did a better job on the border. Nobody thinks Joe Biden did a better job on the economy than Donald J. Trump,” he said, emphasizing that if Trump “runs a competent campaign, if he picks the right kind of vice president, if we’re able to focus on Biden — make it a referendum on Biden — Donald Trump should be able to win this election.”

Nunberg said Trump should strategically choose his vice president, viewing the individual as “a course correction, quasi-independent third-party type candidate.”

“What I mean is, is that he puts his VP as a referendum, as you’re voting on a certain issue,” he said, identifying the number one issue that he believes Biden will lose on as immigration.

LISTEN:

Under Biden’s presidency “in three and a half to four years, you will have had eight million illegals — at a minimum, that’s eight million, that’s what the government is saying — that are dispersed across his country. You will have had policies that he immediately reversed on day one when he came into the Oval Office from President Trump’s policies,” he said, explaining that Trump should pick someone and “say that this…person’s job is going to be to immediately…report to me day to day on immigration, on deportations, on closing the border, on dealing with Mexico and the other countries in that area on enforcement, on possible military action against the cartels.”

“Trump will be outspent by possibly, you know, half a billion dollars going into the fall. The one thing that they can’t do is…if he has a VP that literally they’re just for immigration, that’s going to be an issue when somebody goes to vote and presses that button, they’re voting whether or not they support Joe Biden’s immigration. They’re going to have to think about it. And for me, that would be somebody like General Jack Keane, let’s say,” he said, also floating former Homeland Border Security Adviser Tom Homan.

“Don’t judge the person on anything else, if you want, you know, this person is literally going to be my top adviser. We’re going to be running on dealing with this immigration problem…This person is going to be in charge of…getting these people out of this country from anywhere from New York City to the Rio Grande. Doesn’t matter. I’m going to give this person full authority. I’m going to be ready with an attorney general,” Nunberg said, dismissing some of the names he has heard. If Trump wants to go the politician route, however, Nunberg suggested Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH), who has a “tremendous story.”

“He understands the struggles of America. He understands the opioid crisis. He’s a well-educated family man. That would be somebody that I would like for him to strongly consider,” he said, emphasizing, again, the importance of picking a running mate who will focus on the issue of immigration.
