WHAT HAPPENS WHEN SOCIAL SECURITY GOES BANKRUPT LIKE THE REST OF AMERICA? - WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE DEMOCRATS HOAX AMNESTY SO THAT THE REST OF MEXICO LEGALLY JUMPS THE BORDER???

JOE BIDEN HAS ORCHESTRATED AN INVASION OF 15 MILLION ILLEGALS WITHIN THREE YEARS. MANY WILL GET JOBS, MORE WILL OPERATE IN THE UNDERGROUND ECONOMY UNTIL THEY CAN GET SS. THEN THEY RETURN TO MEXICO, AND VOTE DEM FOR MORE BY MAIL!

The Social Security clock keeps ticking

Social Security has marched to a steady cadence of financial decline for the past 40 years. Every year, the size of the Social Security bomb gets bigger while the fuse becomes a little shorter. While that image might be a serious problem for you, it doesn’t seem to have captured the attention of anyone on Capitol Hill.

At this point, the program has roughly $22.4 trillion in promises that it does not expect to keep to those who can vote today. Someone who turns 80 years old today expects, on average, to live long enough to feel the impact of legislative neglect, which stretches all the way back to 1983.

It is interesting that Congress hasn't found time over the past few decades to address these worrisome prospects, but it has wasted an abundance of time on marginal proposals that have no material chance of consideration, much less passage.

Where on earth do these highly-paid legislators find the time?

To illustrate, Rep. Angie Craig (D-MN) has reintroduced the “You Earned It, You Keep It Act” last week. In her announcement, the lawmaker describes the bill as “a win-win” -- a fiscally responsible tax cut for seniors that puts money back in the pockets of middle-class Americans. Moreover, she claims that the bill would reduce “the federal debt by $8.9 trillion over 75 years.”

Wow. Voters get more and pay less. How could anyone oppose such an appealing deal?

Well, I do; because none of her statements are in fact true. The legislation would not reduce the $34 trillion national debt and the money doesn’t really go to middle-class Americans.

The analysis of the Social Security Administration projects that this proposal would lower the “debt held by the public,” rather than the “federal debt.” The former is a wonkish term used to justify spending, whereas the latter represents an existential threat to the country.

This projected savings is of course not based on actual current law. The United States would have $8.9 trillion less in the public’s hands if we lived on another planet, one in which benefits are paid whether there is money in the trust fund or not.

The bulk of the money flowing from this proposal would benefit wealthier beneficiaries, like those members of Congress who have chosen to work past the age of retirement, rather than middle-class Americans.

This legislative change is not paid for by the elimination of the wage cap, as promised by the legislation’s sponsor. The money needed to pay extra to the well-heeled retiree would come from general fund subsidies to the program to the tune of $6.3 trillion, every dollar of which adds to the federal debt.

In total, this proposal would cost $15.7 trillion, split between eliminating the wage cap and general fund subsidies. It is the same type of revolving-door arithmetic that enabled the problem in the first place.

The chief beneficiaries of this proposal would be members of Congress, who would be able to campaign for re-election without the overhang of $8.9 trillion in benefit cuts threatening their constituents. For just $15.7 trillion, every member of Congress would be able to buy 20 years of peace and quiet on the campaign trail.

Moreover, this proposal doesn't put money into the pockets of middle-class workers. It would remove cash from these average people to pay for extra benefits going to wealthier seniors.

Essentially, we will spend $15.7 trillion in order to make the problem of the parents a bigger problem for their children.

Once again, how could anyone oppose such an appealing deal?

The Big Apple goes debit card mad

The migrant story now has a debit card chapter.  I thought that the story was a joke when it came across the internet; it wasn’t.  It’s true, as we read in this story:

The pilot program is being rolled out at the Roosevelt Hotel in Manhattan, with 500 families involved, The New York Post reported. A family of four will get a card loaded with $1,000-a-month, equivalent to $35 a day.

Those selected will be given cards that can be only used at bodegas, supermarkets and delis. Migrants must sign an affidavit promising to only use the cards for food and baby supplies, or else have them cut off. It is unclear how the City of New York will know if they’re just being used in bodegas as intended.

The amount on each card will depend on individual circumstances. It is unclear how city officials will check if cards are being abused - and if the scheme will worsen the crisis by encouraging other migrants to head to the Big Apple in the hopes of receiving free money.

A family of four could be provided nearly $1,000 each month, which is $35 per day for food for the four.

At present, each migrant meal costs $11, so feeding a family of four for a day could cost up to $132.

Cards will get refilled every 28 days.

Every 28 days?  That’s a short month.  The people in the Mayor’s office sure are generous with our dollars.

As my friend in New York pointed out, citizens are already paying a lot of taxes, fees, tolls, etc.  It’s only a matter of time, he said with a sarcastic laugh, that they will tax you for breathing or going to the bathroom.  (Don’t give the City Council any ideas!)

Not long ago, and speaking to the financial woes of the city, the same Mayor Adams leading the debit card debacle announced billions in cuts, “prompted by $10.8 billion in migrant-related costs in this and the next fiscal year.” Yet, even with the planned budget cuts, “New York City faces budget shortfalls of $7 billion in fiscal 2025 and more than $6 billion in both 2026 and 2027.”

So who is looking out for the overtaxed New Yorkers who have to fill their own prepaid debit cards?  I guess that no one is, as far as I can tell.

Furthermore, isn’t this going to encourage more migrants to take the New York-bound bus?  I think so, and most New Yorkers understand that.

US, Mexico Increase Data Sharing to Curb Fentanyl Trade

‘We all agreed that this is a shared threat not only for us countries in North America, but around the globe,’ one official said.

Opioid-related overdose deaths have skyrocketed over the past decade.

Deaths because of synthetic opioids such as fentanyl have seen the largest spike, increasing by more than 580 percent annually from 2012 to 2017, and remain elevated, according to the National Center for Drug Abuse Statistics.
Mexico and the United States are most hard-pressed to combat the illicit flow of fentanyl, a synthetic opioid primarily manufactured in Latin America with precursor chemicals imported from communist China.

‘Pawn Stars’ Boss Rick Harrison Blasts Biden’s Border Policies Over ‘Disgusting’ Fentanyl Crisis After Son’s Death

Rick Harrison, the star of the popular Pawn Stars TV series, is blasting Joe Biden’s massive failures at the border in the wake of his son’s death from a fentanyl overdose.

Harrison’s son, Adam, who was not part of his father’s TV show, died at 39 from an overdose of the drug on Jan. 19.

Now, during an interview with Fox News, the 59-year-old TV star praised Donald Trump and slammed politicians now in charge for being “complicit” in the millions of fentanyl deaths befalling this country.

“He’s an incredible individual. He wants to do something about this,” Harrison said of Trump and his desire to end the flow of fentanyl coming across the border by drug running criminals.

“There’s so many different places you have to start at, all at once, but one of the major ones is get the damn stuff out of the country and stop making it so cheap to get high,” Harrison continued.

“My understanding is it’s like $5 to buy a fentanyl pill. Anybody can afford it. I mean, make it difficult,” he said.

“Let’s start arresting the people selling it, arresting the people bringing it over the border, close down the border, make it really expensive. Let’s make a fentanyl death rare,” he said.

“It’s insane because they’re letting it happen,” he said of today’s politicians in charge of policy. “They’re literally letting it happen. They’re not doing anything about it. So they’re complicit in all these deaths.”

“Nothing is getting done about it,” Harrison said of the illegal drugs sweeping the country. “It’s the equivalent of a 737 loaded with passengers crashing every single day. That’s how many people die from it. And, you know, the politicians don’t want to talk about it. The news doesn’t want to talk about it.”

“A big part of is politics. I mean, we know where it’s all coming from. It’s all coming right across the border, and they won’t do anything about it. I mean, they’re doing nothing,” he insisted.

U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, Urban Affairs

Harrison went on to blast Joe Biden’s regime for trying to sue Texas to for the Lone Star State from protecting its own borders.

“Literally, we have a government that’s suing the state saying, ‘No, you can’t block tons of people coming into this country,'” the TV star said. “We don’t know what they’re carrying on them. And we don’t know what kind of people they are. It’s insanity. I mean, we just need common sense.”

“I think any drug dealer that sells fentanyl, I mean, they should get at least manslaughter charges,” Harrison exclaimed. “Just selling the stuff should be attempted murder. I mean, it’s that bad and nothing’s being done about it.”

Harrison then pointed out that so many cities in the U.S. are “turning into third-world countries because of this drug,” and slammed liberal state such as Oregon for treating abuse of the drug so lightly, adding, “Like in Oregon, you can have fentanyl on you. It’s like a $20 ticket.”

C-SPAN

Harrison suggested that the first thing that needs to be done is to “shut down the border.” He also advised an end to the left’s latest popular notion of “no bail” rules, and that penalties for selling or possessing fentanyl need to be stiffened.

He also railed about all the billions being spent in Ukraine when there are so many problems that such a huge amount of money could have helped fix in the U.S.A.

“You take Ukraine. I mean, we could have built like 10 border walls. We could have fixed the freeways in this country,” he continued. “For all the money we gave them, there’s so many things we could have fixed,” the exasperated TV star said.

“I think there was one figure — we could have gave every homeless veteran $1 million for the money we’re spending over there. I mean, think about that. We’re doing nothing for homeless veterans, but we’re giving credit cards to illegal aliens, housing them for free and sending all this money to Ukraine,” he said.
