Richmond Approves ‘Black Lives Matter’ Mural Near Virginia State Capitol
Officials in Richmond, Virginia, have approved a proposal for a 200-foot mural bearing the phrase “Black Lives Matter” to be painted near the state’s capitol building.
The Richmond Planning Commission approved the proposal by a unanimous vote on Monday, WSLS reported.
The mural is set to be painted in large, yellow letters along a street downtown leading to the entrance of Virginia’s state capitol square.
It is a privately-funded project led by two local artists known for other murals in the city, and its location was proposed by Venture Richmond, a nonprofit led by community and business leaders.
Venture Richmond Deputy Executive Director Anedra Bourne said the location is significant because of its distance to City Hall and the state capitol.
Richmond’s Department of Public Works still needs to secure a permit for the mural, according to the city’s public art coordinator.
Similar murals were created on prominent streets in New York City; Washington, DC; Charlotte; Minneapolis; and San Francisco following recent nationwide protests against racial inequality.
Work on the project is slated to begin within the next month.

The Democrat media claims that there's a "trend" of drivers ramming into Black Lives Matter rallies. That's like claiming that there's a trend of Chassidic Jews in Brooklyn ramming the back of their heads into the fists of local thugs. Or that the World Trade Center crashed into planes hijacked by Islamic terrorists.
Black Lives Matter thugs barricade areas, terrorize drivers, and assault those who don't manage to get away.
Now the BLM riots have their first official Reginald Denny case. There have been some ugly violent assaults already. But this one may be the definitive one.
A mob of Portland Black Lives Matter protesters forced a white man to crash his truck, then punched and kicked him unconscious, disturbing footage shows.
A series of clips on social media shows the victim being surrounded in his white Ford truck at 10.30 p.m. Sunday as others attacked a woman he was with, who was punched and even tackled to the ground during the violent melee.
“He didn’t do nothing!” someone could be heard calling as others punched the driver as he sat in his truck, which was also repeatedly kicked.
The unidentified driver eventually sped off, with the mob chasing him — with some heard loudly laughing when he crashed into a tree and then a building, according to the clips.
He was dragged from the truck and tackled to the ground as he begged for help — getting repeatedly punched as he tried to call his wife while pleading with his attackers as he sat on the ground, the videos show.
The victim was then shown bleeding from a large wound in the back of his head as he appeared unconscious throughout another almost 2½-minute clip. The woman was shown sobbing nearby as the mob held her back and appeared to rifle through his truck.
“Black live matter, n—er!” one man continually ranted as other people checked the victim was still alive. Even as he remained unconscious, a woman was heard taunting him, “Get your b-tch ass up!”
The victim was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, police said. “The incident is under investigation and no arrests have been made,” the force said.
And likely won't be.

At Least 30 Shot, 7 Fatally, over Weekend in Democrat-Controlled Philly
At least 30 people were shot, seven fatally, over the weekend in Democrat-controlled Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
NBC Philadelphia reports there were 25 shootings that left behind more than 30 victims, fatal and non-fatal combined. Twenty-five people were wounded in the shootings while another seven were killed.
The weekend violence included gunfire at a block party around 11:30 p.m. Saturday. Breitbart News reported five people were injured in that shooting, and police were already on scene when it occurred, having been tipped off about the block party by social media posts.
6 ABC reported Philadelphia police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw commented on the incident, saying, “There were a lot of people out here. We do believe that someone knows who the shooters were and could possibly help us in identifying and figuring out exactly what happened.”
Outlaw did not speculate on the number of gunmen, but said shell casings from “several weapons were … found on the scene.”
On August 17, 2020, Breitbart News reported gun violence was raging in Democrat-controlled New York City as well.
Mayor Bill de Blasio’s (D) NYC witnessed over 50 shot from Thursday through Sunday, seven fatally. Breitbart News reported there were 12 shootings with 19 injured and one killed on Friday alone.
And at least 50 were shot, five fatally, over the weekend in Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s (D) Chicago.
