Russia’s Population Drops to 15-Year Low

Russia’s population dropped by over half a million people between January 2020 and January 2021, the country’s Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) revealed on Thursday. The drop is the largest on record since 2005.

According to Rosstat, Russia’s population was documented as 146.238 million people as of January 1, 2021. A year ago, that number was 146.748 million. Russia’s state news agency TASS described the drop as the “first dramatic decline” since 2005, and the first time since 2017 that the population dropped to under 146.8 million people.

Russia, whose economy has been stagnant for decades under the poor management of President Vladimir Putin, faced extraordinary challenges in 2020, as did most of the world in the face of the Chinese coronavirus pandemic. Russia has documented 3.8 million cases of Chinese coronavirus as of Friday, one of the world’s highest rates of infection particularly in light of allegations that the Russian government had undercounted its cases. Moscow has attributed 71,054 deaths to the virus.

The Moscow Times noted that the pandemic appeared to significantly hurt the nation’s population, contributing to a “record-setting 184,600 excess deaths between January and November.” During that same time, 1.9 million Russians died in total.

“At the same time, birth rates declined by 4.4% from 1.36 million from January-November 2019 to 1.3 million in the same period of 2020,” the Times added.

Russian officials addressed the pandemic, much like officials elsewhere, by limiting economic activity to lessen contact that could facilitate infection, which has hindered its economic growth. Concerns about public health, a limited job market, and growing disenchantment with the government that is fueling the opposition movement of dissident Alexei Navalny appear to be factoring into Russia’s low birth rate and migration statistics, and thus the decline in population.

Russian propaganda network RT noted on Thursday that Russia’s population peaked in 2018; unlike neighboring countries facing population crises like China and Japan, Russia has already reached a point of overall population decline. Putin has attempted in the past to facilitate immigration to Russia, RT claimed, but the move has largely failed, partly due to travel limitations in the pandemic era.

RT did not note that Russia’s economy does not appear to be offering much to migrants. Among Rosstat’s other revelations this week is the state of the nation’s finances, which has declined significantly in the past year. An estimated 20 million Russians currently live under the poverty line, an increase of 400,000 households. Living standards generally are lower than they have been for a decade.

“Real disposable incomes — a closely tracked indicator of Russian households’ financial wellbeing — dropped by 3.5% in 2020, Rosstat found,” the Moscow Times noted. “They now stand more than 10% below levels recorded in 2013, the last year of solid growth before Russia’s annexation of Crimea and a slump in world oil prices pushed the economy into recession.”

Russian officials and senior economic figures have attempted to portray Rosstat’s latest data as a positive for the Putin regime, noting that, percentage-wise, Russia is faring better than some other countries economically during the pandemic. Construction and agriculture grew as industries in the past year despite pandemic concerns, and unemployment statistically fell, though experts have cast doubt on whether the official figures truly reflect the state of employment in the country. The head of VTB, the second-biggest bank in Russia, said during a conversation with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) this week that he believed that Russia’s economy would return to its lackluster pre-pandemic performance as soon as fall 2021.

“We feel reasonably optimistic about this and we hope that by autumn the Russian economy will return to the pre-crisis level,” chief executive Andrey Kostin said.

In an early January analysis, the Moscow Times cited economic experts agreeing that Russia has lost less of its economic power than some peer states.

“Other countries are doing much worse,” Russian economist Sergei Guriev is quoted as saying in late 2020. “Advanced economies on average will lose 6% of their GDP — many European economies will lose 10%,” as opposed to Russia’s predicted four percent.

Elina Ribakova, deputy chief economist at the Institute of International Finance (IIF), told the newspaper that Russia appears to be economically viable, but only in short-term indicators.

“In the short-run we have stability — low government debt, low external debt and very high reserves. You’d say this is fantastic, right? But the issue is that over the medium-term we have every possible imaginable problem: an inability to generate growth,” she said.

The lack of significant economic prospects appears to have made the bombshell accusation by Navalny, a dissident who recently suffered an apparently poisoning with the Russian nerve agent Novichok, that Putin has spent billions on a personal palace particularly insulting to Russians. Navalny fled to Germany following his poisoning with the help of his team. There, he recovered from a coma as German doctors investigated the possible origin of his ailment and discovered evidence of Novichok use. A recovered Navalny accused Moscow of poisoning him and vowed to return home despite the Kremlin making clear he would face immediate arrest. Upon landing in Russia last week, police detained him.

Navalny’s team released a report, including video, last week while the opposition leader was behind bars alleging that Putin had spent billions of dollars on a personal palace on the Black Sea.

“There are impregnable fences, its own port, its own security, a church, its own permit system, a no-fly zone and even its own border checkpoint. It is absolutely a separate state within Russia,” Navalny said.

Putin’s denial of any knowledge about the estate has not stopped nationwide protests against his regime, which are expected to continue on Saturday.

Red State AGs Warn Biden They Will Sue Administration over Changes to Immigration Rules

ATLANTA, GEORGIA - JANUARY 04: President-elect Joe Biden speaks as he campaigns with Democratic candidates for the U.S. Senate Jon Ossoff and Rev. Six red-state attorneys general are warning the Biden administration they will take legal action if he oversteps his authority to implement radical and wide-ranging agendas, including the rollback of immigration rules.

The six attorneys general, Patrick Morrisey (WV), Ken Paxton (TX), Austin Knudsen (MT), Lynn Fitch (MS), Todd Rokita (IN), and Leslie Rutledge (AR) signed the letter addressed to President Joe Biden, highlighting concerns over the tone he has set in his early days in office by signing a flurry of executive actions, besting the pace of all his predecessors.

The officials noted that Biden’s first week “appears to indicate” that his administration “may be following the unfortunate path of executive unilateralism” and warned that they will take action in the event of “cabinet officials, executive officers, and agencies” moving beyond their authority. The Republicans listed specific issues that may arise — from the administration attempting to implement the “extreme ‘Green New Deal'” agenda to “tearing down immigration statutes” via “executive fiat.”

“Overreaching and defying Congress will not be rewarded or succeed. Our States have led the charge in successfully challenging unauthorized and unlawful executive actions, as you know from your years as Vice President,” they warned. “You can be assured that we will do so again, if necessary”:

Whether it be directing a wide swath of federal agencies to exceed their limited statutory mandates to implement the extreme ‘Green New Deal’ agenda that Congress has not enacted, making transformative changes to our healthcare system that were specifically rejected in passing the Affordable Care Act, strong-arming businesses into changing practices to adhere to unreasonable and twisted interpretations of long-extant statutes, having the Department of the Treasury and the Federal Reserve conjure up massive boondoggle spending sprees without congressional authorizations and appropriations, usurping the authority of the States to protect local streams, or tearing down immigration statutes passed by Congress by executive fiat, we will not hesitate to defend America against illegal executive actions.

“When Presidents do not take care to ensure that executive agencies live up to their obligation of reasoned decision making, the task often falls to us as State Attorneys General to challenge their actions in court,” they continued.

“While we would rather you keep agencies from running amok in the first place, we will not hesitate to step up to the plate when our States are harmed by agency malfeasance,” they added:

2021.01.27 Letter — Presid… by Fox News

The letter comes as Biden breaks records in terms of executive actions in the early days of his presidency. Revoking former President Donald Trump’s constitutional 2017 travel ban, thereby resuming immigration from countries known to harbor terrorists, was one of the first executive actions Biden took upon assuming office last week:

Biden signed executive actions terminating Trump’s orders declaring a national emergency on the Southern border to fund the construction of a border wall, rescinding the exclusion of non-citizens from the census, ending the “Remain in Mexico” policy for refugees, and suspending most deportations for 100 days.

Biden also released a bill to give amnesty to all illegal immigrants in the United States.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki defended Biden’s immediate focus on immigration as a broader approach to fighting for “racial equity.”

Further executive actions on immigration currently face delays, according to a Thursday report from Fox News. Even so, Democrat lawmakers are seeking to recruit Republicans to join their amnesty-driven agenda.

This week, dozens of progressive House lawmakers sent a letter to Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, demanding future coronavirus relief measures to include recurring payments that extend to those who may be residing in the country illegally.

EXCLUSIVE: Gulf Cartel Killing Field Discovered in Mexico near Texas Border

Mexican mass grave

Mexican activists searching for victims of cartel kidnappings found a killing field only miles from the Texas border. The property, which appears to be an abandoned ranch, is believed to have been used by the Gulf Cartel to murder and dispose of the bodies.

The discovery took place in recent days when activists searching for their loved ones found several drums believed used to incinerate victims. Also found were human remains on a property known as Ranch San Gerardo between the cities of Rio Bravo and Valle Hermoso. The region is controlled by the Gulf Cartel, a criminal organization responsible for a large part of the violence in Tamaulipas.

Sources with direct knowledge of the event confirmed to Breitbart Texas the discovery of the killing field and the forensic fieldwork being done at the site. Activists who were looking for remains of missing victims were walking and combing rural areas near Rio Bravo. It was during those walks that an activist happened upon an abandoned warehouse that housed 55-gallon drums containing human remains.

Outside the drums, the activists found bullet casings, suggesting the victims were shot shortly before being stuffed into the drums for burning in a practice known as “guiso” or cooking. It is common for cartels to use fuel, tires, and wood, thus reducing their victims to mostly ash.

Soon after the discovery, Mexico’s National Guard and a special office within the federal attorney general’s office responded. Authorities subsequently sealed the area, documented the scene, and began collecting samples. Despite the gruesome discovery, no authorities have released any information about the cartel killing field.

The Gulf Cartel has a history of clandestine crematoriums and killing fields in northern Tamaulipas, even in the middle of large border cities.

U.S.-Mexico Top 10 Cartel ‘Most Wanted’ List Gets Update

Gulf Cartel

Authorities on both sides of the border updated a regional list of the top 10 wanted cartel figures responsible for most of the violence and smuggling activities in recent months. The list includes Gulf Cartel and Cartel Del Noreste-Los Zetas members.

The list is a joint effort by authorities on both sides of the border that has helped lead to the captures of several cartel operators.

Known as the Se Busca campaign, the list is a joint effort between the U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the Tamaulipas State Police.

The updated list features the current regional leader for the Cartel Del Noreste faction of Los Zetas, Juan Gerardo “El Huevo” Trevino, who authorities say is responsible for multiple shootouts and atrocities as part of his turf war.

The list features other figures, including the leader of the Reynosa faction of the Gulf Cartel Cesar “El Primito” Morfin. Under El Primito’s leadership, the Gulf Cartel continues to control all the drug and human smuggling activities from Reynosa to Miguel Aleman and most of the Rio Grande Valley. In recent months, the drug boss has, however, seen his power and influence start to fade due to constant fighting with the Matamoros faction of the Gulf Cartel and the CDN-Los Zetas.

The list features two commanders for the Gulf Cartel in Reynosa that were reported on exclusively by Breitbart Texas in 2019 for leading human smuggling operations. Known as “La Mimi” and “La Mierda,” Hector Sanchez Rivera and brother Ernesto are responsible for most of the violence in Reynosa.

Missing from the list is the leader of the Matamoros faction of the Gulf Cartel, Evaristo “El Vaquero” Cruz, responsible for numerous shootouts and disappearances. He also made recent headlines for being able to deliver toys, gifts, food, and supplies to needy families during holidays. It remains unclear why El Vaquero was removed from Se Busca. The Tamaulipas government still offers a cash reward for his capture.

The complete list includes:

1) Juan Gerardo Treviño-Chavez aka “El Huevo”

2) Humberto Alejandro URIBE-Mendoza aka “Soruyo”

3) Ernesto SANCHEZ-Rivera aka “M22” or “Cuate”

4) Pablo Misael RAMOS-Lara aka “El Pantera” or “El Mezqui”

5) Hector SANCHEZ-Rivera aka “La Mimi, El Cuate, M1”

6) Cesar MORFIN-Morfin aka “El Primito”

7) Alvaro Noe Morfin Morfin aka “R-8”

8) Jose Martin Cardenas-Garcia aka “Chiwilly”

9) Agustin Ordorica-Lopez

10) Carlos Roel COLLAZO-Rodriguez aka “Chuy 7” or “Chuy Sierra” or “Collazo”

Capitol Police Chief: U.S. Capitol Needs ‘Permanent’ Wall to Protect Congress

The United States Capitol needs a “permanent” security wall around it to protect members of Congress, Acting U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) Chief Yogananda Pittman says.

In a statement on Thursday, Pittman said the security at the Capitol building must include a “permanent fencing” barrier — a similar barrier to the one halted by President Joe Biden’s administration at the U.S.-Mexico border.

“As I noted earlier this week, even before September 11, 2001, security experts argued that more needed to be done to protect the U.S. Capitol,” Pittman said in a statement. “In fact, a 2006 security assessment specifically recommended the installation of a permanent perimeter fence around the Capitol.”

“In light of recent events, I can unequivocally say that vast improvements to the physical security infrastructure must be made to include permanent fencing, and the availability of ready, back-up forces in close proximity to the Capitol,” Pittman continued.

Fencing with barbed wire at the top has been surrounding the Capitol for weeks now, as Breitbart News noted, to protect Biden during his January 20 inaugural ceremonies. Other barriers have gone up around Washington, DC, to keep the public out of particular areas.

Last week, Biden halted the construction of security barriers at the U.S.-Mexico border. In an executive order, Biden called the construction project “a waste of money” and “not a serious policy solution.”

Biden Kills 5K Construction Jobs by Canceling Border Wall, Says Former CBP Commissioner

Crews construct a section of border wall in San Bernardino National Wildlife Refuge, Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2020, in Douglas, Ariz. President Joe Biden’s order to cancel the building of new border wall systems authorized by Congress will kill about 5,000 construction jobs, according to the most recent former head of U.S. Customs and Border Protection. In addition, it will cost other earners in the steel, concrete, and technology industries who supply project materials.

In response to the cancellation of border wall systems contracted by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), former Commissioner Morgan told Breitbart News that Biden’s order will cost Americans about 5,000 high-paying jobs.

“Conservatively, it’s going to cost about 5,000 jobs — construction workers — right now,” Morgan said in an exclusive interview. “It’s gonna cost them their livelihood.”

The former commissioner said it is not just these construction jobs that will be hit by Biden’s executive order signed on his first day in office. He said union members in the steel industry that produce the bollards will be impacted.

“Now, keep in mind, they’re going to be paid for what they produced so far,” he explained. “But for the 350 miles that Congress funded for construction, all that goes out the window.”

“So all the work that they were counting on, you know, the money they are counting on to feed their families and pay their mortgage, all that goes out the window,” Morgan continued.

In addition to the steel production, the border wall systems also include lighting, state-of-the-art surveillance technology, and all access road construction. Those who produce all of these will be impacted as well, he stated.

Morgan said there are other costs in canceling the projects. Those include reversing the projects that have started but are not completed.

“Right now, we have about 270,000 tons of steel bollard fencing that have been produced but not put in place,” the commissioner said. “Think about that. We are not only going to have to pay the contractors for that, but then we’re gonna have to pay the additional money to either destroy it, which is unconscionable, or store it.”

Additionally, Morgan said we will have to undo the partially completed projects.

“Let’s say a ditch has been dug to lay rebar,” he said. “We are actually going to have to pay the contractor to pull out the rebar and fill the ditch back in the way it was.”

“Conservatively,” Commissioner Morgan concluded, “we’re looking at costing taxpayers billions of dollars.”

EXCLUSIVE: Mexican Border State Taxi Drivers Again Face Cartel Work or Death

Cartel Murder
Breitbart Texas / Cartel Chronicles
2:22

The fierce cartel turf war in northern Mexico is turning taxi drivers into targets as criminal organizations force commercial motorists into their ranks–or else. Tamaulipas is again seeing a spike in taxi driver murders as factions of the Gulf Cartel and Los Zetas fight for control of the region.

The trend focuses in Ciudad Victoria, the capital of Tamaulipas. Since the beginning of 2021, there were more than a dozen attacks with minimal information released by state officials. Organized crime members are forcing taxi drivers to work as distributors or lookouts, or face torture and death. No primary cartels are taking public credit, however.

Both are believed responsible for most of the violence in the state. The fighting in Ciudad Victoria has manifested itself primarily by targeted killings and abductions.

The trend of killing taxi drivers began in mid-January when gunmen passed themselves off as clients and shot a driver based out of the Walmart in the Adelita’s neighborhood. The gunmen shot the victim twice on the head with a .40 caliber pistol and fled the scene.

On January 18, a similar case took place in the Casa Blanca neighborhood when a gunman broke into a house and killed the intended victim with a rifle.

On January 19, another gunman broke into a house in the Enrique Cardenas neighborhood and shot a 32-year-old taxi driver. The victim survived the attack.

On January 20, a gunman on a motorcycle shot and killed a driver in the Pajaritos neighborhood.

Several more cases have been noted in recent days, despite the claims by officials that crime is decreasing.

164 Migrants Apprehended in Texas Human Smuggling Stash Houses near Border

Border Patrol agents in two Texas border sectors apprehended more than 160 migrants who were being held in human smuggling stash houses. The apprehensions took place in the Laredo and Rio Grande Valley Sectors.

Rio Grande Valley Sector agents received information about a suspected stash house in Roma, Texas, on January 26, according to information obtained from Border Patrol officials. The agents teamed up with Starr County Sheriff’s Office deputies to investigate.

As the law enforcement team arrived at the house, the migrants fled from the property. A search of the area led to the arrest of 59 illegal immigrants, officials stated. One of the migrants sustained an ankle injury while attempting to jump a fence.

Doctors at a nearby hospital treated the man and reported he also tested positive for COVID-19, officials stated.

Later that day, Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office deputies contacted Weslaco Station Border Patrol agents and requested assistance in the border community of Donna, Texas. Deputies reported receiving a 911 call from someone inside the home. Agents arrived and conducted an investigation that led to the arrests of 41, the report continues. Agents conducted an immigration interview and identified the migrants as having come to the U.S. from Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, and Nicaragua.

Up the border in the Laredo Sector, agents teamed up with the Webb County Constables Office Precinct 3, the Laredo Police Department, and Homeland Security Investigations to shut down three human smuggling stash house operations, also on January 26.

Law enforcement sources obtained information about people being held against their will in stash houses. The law enforcement team moved in and found migrants from El Salvador, Guatemala, and Mexico. The agents also arrested a U.S. citizen who served as the “caretaker” of the illegal immigrants. Officials said none of the migrants wore any kind of personal protection equipment to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

In total, the Laredo Sector agents arrested 64 migrants.

This brought the one day total from these two sectors to 164 arrests in human smuggling stash houses. These represent migrants who managed to cross the unsecured border undetected and were smuggled into these stash houses to await transportation further inland.

Laredo officials report stash house apprehensions account for only about 4 percent of all migrant arrests in the sector.

Joe Biden Considers Abolishing Most ICE Detention of Criminal Illegal Aliens

President Joe Biden is considering ending most Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention of criminal illegal aliens, according to a report.

On Tuesday, billed as a “racial equity” agenda, Biden announced that he would instruct the Bureau of Prisons (BOP) to end its contracts with privately-managed prisons that hold more than 14,000 convicts — nearly all of which are foreign nationals.

In addition, the open borders lobby is urging Biden to end ICE’s contracts with privately-managed detention facilities which hold the overwhelming majority of criminal illegal aliens for the agency. Sources close to the Biden administration said the idea is being floated around the White House.

Politico reports:

President Joe Biden is considering an executive order to phase out government contracts with private immigrant detention facilities, multiple sources with knowledge of the process say. But he has no immediate plans to issue such an order and the White House would only say that it “will take additional action in the future relating to the detention of undocumented immigrants.”
[Emphasis added]

Two advocates told POLITICO that, as of Tuesday, they did not believe an order would ultimately materialize. The White House plans to roll out other immigration-related executive actions later this week. In a briefing on Tuesday, Susan Rice, the director of Biden’s domestic policy council, said that the order pertaining to private prisons is “silent on what may or may not transpire with ICE facilities.” [Emphasis added]

Currently, more than 14,000 detainees are in ICE custody.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is pushing the Biden administration to sign such an executive order, writing in a post that “we must include ending for-profit immigrant detention & examine the use of for-profit services that squeeze families of the incarcerated in public prisons, too.”

According to the most recent totals provided to Breitbart News, more than 80 percent of illegal aliens in ICE detention are held in privately-managed facilities. Their abolishment would mean less detention space for ICE and in return would force fewer arrests and a drop-off in deportations.

Already, Biden has signed executive orders to relax interior immigration enforcement and halt deportations of all illegal aliens, unless they are convicted of aggravated felonies. The deportation order has been stopped by a federal judge after Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a lawsuit.

Biden’s order, which came in the form of a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) memo, mandates that ICE agents only arrest illegal aliens who have been convicted of aggravated felonies, are known or suspected terrorists, or those apprehended at the U.S.-Mexico border after November 1, 2020.

Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) Director of Policy Jessica Vaughan notes that the Biden order means that ICE can only arrest, detain, and deport “at most” about 15 percent of the nation’s illegal alien population.

“This is the part that is enticing more migrants to the border,” Vaughan wrote in a post.

15 Migrants Arrested in Human Smuggling Attempt on California Coast

CBP Air and Marine Operations agents assisted other law enforcement agencies in apprehending 15 migrants after a boat landing on the coast of California.

A multi-agency effort ended with the arrest of 15 migrants being smuggled in a small boat off the coast of California, according to information obtained from U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials.

A U.S. Coast Guard maritime patrol aircraft spotted a panga-style vessel that made landfall near Goleta, California. The group began to scatter once they reached the beach.

Border Patrol agents and ICE Homeland Security Investigations agents — including members of the Los Angeles Border Enforcement Security Taskforce — arrived on the scene and began a search for the fleeing migrants.

The search concluded with the successful arrest of 15 migrants. An immigration interview identified the migrants as ten adult males, one juvenile male, and four adult females. Officials reported two of the men were Venezuelan nationals. The others were all identified as Mexican nationals. All 15 had no documents for legally being present in the United States, officials stated.

The multi-agency operation included CBP Air and Marine Operations and Office of Field Operations agents and officers in addition to the agencies mentioned above. Local police officers assisted in the operation by providing perimeter security.

Border Patrol agents transported all 15 migrants to the station for processing and removal under Title 42 Coronavirus protection protocols from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

This protocol, which leads to about 90 percent of migrants being removed within about two hours remains in place during the Biden administration — so far — CBP officials told Breitbart Texas.

Roughly 14.5 million illegal aliens live across the United States, costing American taxpayers about $134 billion every year, a new study reveals.

An annual study released by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) finds that the illegal alien population in the U.S. has grown by at least 200,000 since 2019 and has cost taxpayers an additional $2 billion since last year.

Though the number of illegal aliens in the U.S. has increased, the FAIR study states that growth among the illegal alien population has slowed over the last year because of the Chinese coronavirus crisis and because of former President Donald Trump’s “Remain in Mexico” policy, which stopped the practice of border crossers being released into the interior of the country.

“As many as 60 percent of all new illegal aliens in any given year are those who have overstayed visas,” FAIR researchers write. “Thanks to a timely travel freeze implemented by the Trump administration to stop the spread of the virus, far fewer people entered the United States in recent months, so far fewer people had the opportunity to overstay their visas.”

The growth of the illegal alien population and its fiscal burden on taxpayers has been enormous over the last decade, though. In 2010, for instance, FAIR estimated the illegal alien population stood at just over 11 million, indicating a more than 31 percent increase in the population in just ten years.

The study found that most illegal aliens in the U.S. tend to live near the southern border or in states that offer expansive sanctuary protections that shield them from arrest and deportation by federal immigration officials.

“The ten states with the largest estimated illegal alien populations account for just under three-fourths (71%) of the national illegal alien total,” the study states.

Most significantly, the study details the federal government’s ineffectiveness to properly count the illegal alien population — including the annual total of those who illegally cross U.S. borders and visa overstays.

“In truth, we do not know exactly how many people cross the border unlawfully and evade immigration authorities,” the researchers note. “We can only estimate these figures based on how many individuals U.S. Customs and Border Protection and Immigration and Customs Enforcement believe slip through their detection.”

The study comes as President Joe Biden is easing interior immigration enforcement by only prioritizing the arrest and detainment of those convicted of felonies and seeks a halt to deportations for at least 100 days.

Biden has also proposed an amnesty for nearly the entire illegal alien population, a policy that would add millions of foreign nationals to the U.S. labor market at a time of mass unemployment where 18 million Americans remain jobless.

Every year, the U.S. gives green cards to about 1.2 million legal immigrants and another 1.4 million visas to foreign nationals. The nation’s mass legal immigration process is in addition to hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens who successfully crossed the border or overstay their visas annually.
