DO ALL OF JOE BIDEN'S CRONY BILLIONAIRES FOR OPEN BORDERS AVOID TAXES? - THEN WHO PAYS FOR ALL THAT 'CHEAP' LABOR AND THEIR WELFARE??? - ProPublica Reveals How Soros, Bezos, and Other Famous Billionaires Avoid Paying Taxes
BILLIONAIRES, LIKE COPS AND LAWYERS, ARE A PROTECTED CRIMINAL CLASS BECAUSE THEY WROTE THE LAWS TO PROTECT THEMSELVES FROM THEIR CRMINALITY.
Amazon founder Jeff Bezos paid no income tax in 2007 and 2011. Tesla founder Elon Musk’s income tax bill came to zero in 2018. And financier George Soros went three straight years without paying federal income tax, according to a report out Tuesday from the nonprofit investigative journalism organization ProPublica.
BIDEN CRONY JEFF BEZOS OF AMAZON SAYS HE CAN’T AFFORD TO PAY LIVING WAGES!
“Amazon is a massive wrecking machine consuming American retail. It's looting the economy and leaving behind rubble.”
DANIEL GREENFIELD
Traditional book publishers were decimated by the arrival of Amazon, which aggressively pursued them, in the words of Bezos, “the way a cheetah would pursue a sickly gazelle.”
Amazon, the multinational online retail conglomerate, is importing more foreign workers to the United States to take coveted tech industry jobs than Facebook and Google combined. JOHN BINDER
Amazon is entangled not only with Wall Street, but also with the US military and intelligence apparatus. Amazon was awarded a $600 million contract with the CIA in 2013, followed by a $10 billion contract with the Department of Defense last year to move government data onto the cloud. Meanwhile, Amazon’s facial-identification software “Rekognition” is being marketed to federal and local police.
"GOP estb. is using the $5 billion border-wall fight to hide up to four blue/white-collar cheap-labor programs in lame-duck DHS budget. Donors are worried that salaries are too damn high, & estb. media does not want to know."
ProPublica Reveals How Soros, Bezos, and Other Famous Billionaires Avoid Paying Taxes
George Soros paid no federal income tax three years in a row, according to a report released Tuesday by ProPublica.
Soros is among the famous billionaires—many of whom are leftist advocates of high taxes and big government—who paid less of their wealth to the taxman than many working-class Americans, ProPublica reports.
Those named in the report as paying very low taxes—and in some cases no income taxes at all—include Warren Buffett, Bill Gates, Michael Bloomberg, Carl Icahn, Elon Musk, George Soros, Jeff Bezos, and Mark Zuckerberg.
ProPublica says its reporting is based on “a vast trove of Internal Revenue Service Data” revealing that billionaires, who often finance Democrat campaigns to raise taxes in working Americans, “paid a total of $13.6 billion in federal income taxes in those five years” amounting “to a true tax rate of only 3.4%.”
A household earning the median income in the U.S. would typically face a tax rate of around 14 percent.
ProPublica calculates what it calls the “true tax rate” based on the increase in an individuals wealth rather than just income. That includes unrealized capital gains that occur when real estate or stock holdings rise. In the U.S. and much of the world, such gains are only taxed when an asset is sold, allowing gains to mount for years before they are ever taxed.
For instance, the following individuals have allegedly paid less than a two percent “true tax” rate:
Warren Buffett 0.1 percent
Jeff Bezos 0.98 percent
Michael Bloomberg 1.30 percent
The leaked documents confirm what Breitbart News reported in 2019 that “The wealthiest 400 Americans in 2018 paid a lower tax rate than all of the income groups in the United States,” according to research from University of California, Berkeley.
The analysis also concludes the country’s top economic elite are paying lower federal, state, and local tax rates than the nation’s working and middle class.
ProPublica’s finding were not from such obvious sources as academics, however, in which they note:
ProPublica is not disclosing how it obtained the data, which was given to us in raw form, with no conditions or conclusions. ProPublica reporters spent months processing and analyzing the material to transform it into a usable database.
It should be noted it is against the law to disclose confidential tax information. “Taxpayers have the right to expect that any information they provide to the IRS will not be disclosed unless authorized by the taxpayer or by law,” the IRS’s website states.
ProPublica: Soros, Bezos, Buffett and Many of the Uber Rich Pay Next to No Taxes
The rich really are different from you and me: They’re better at dodging the tax man.
Overall, the richest 25 Americans pay less in tax — 15.8% of adjusted gross income — than many ordinary workers do, once you include taxes for Social Security and Medicare, ProPublica found.
The champion tax avoider: Warren Buffett.
“No one among the 25 wealthiest avoided as much tax as Buffett, the grandfatherly centibillionaire. That’s perhaps surprising, given his public stance as an advocate of higher taxes for the rich,” ProPubica wrote.
An anonymous source delivered to ProPublica reams of Internal Revenue Service data on the country’s wealthiest people, including Warren Buffett, Bill Gates, Rupert Murdoch, and Mark Zuckerberg.
ProPublica compared the tax data it received with information available from other sources. It reported that “in every instance we were able to check — involving tax filings by more than 50 separate people — the details provided to ProPublica matched the information from other sources.’’
Using perfectly legal tax strategies, many of the uber-rich are able to whittle their federal tax bills down to nothing or close to it. Soros went three straight years without paying federal income tax; billionaire investor Carl Icahn, two, ProPublica finds.
The findings are sure to heighten the national debate over the vast and widening inequality between the very wealthiest Americans and everyone else.
ProPublica reports that the tax bills of the rich are especially low when compared with their soaring wealth — the value of their investment portfolios, real estate, and other assets.
