WHAT HAPPENED TO CALIFORNIA? THE DEMOCRAT'S FAVE FAILED STATE? - Santa Monica becomes unliveable
WHILE YOU WERE SLEEPING OR GETTING YOUR CELL PHONE FIX, THE DEMOCRAT PARTY WAS DESTROYING YOUR COUNTRY AND GETTING RICH DOING IT!
San Diego Is Now The Least Affordable Place In America
and how many illegals live and work in S.D. just across from the Narcomex borer???
Progressives had a banger year in California, even by the Golden State’s standards.
From the Democratic supermajorities in the legislature to progressive city councils and a governor who likes to run campaign ads in Florida, California liberals did their best to, in the words of the late, great, P.J. O’Rourke, "enfeeble the individual and exhaust the economy."
California Democrats love to say their state’s laws lead the way. But where, exactly, are they leading us? Here are some guideposts.
The California Climate Crisis Act
In August, the state legislature approved a plan to reduce carbon emissions by at least 85 percent by 2045. Critics predict the plan will cost about $4 trillion, add $50,000 to the cost of every new home, endanger "hundreds of thousands of jobs," and could intensify the number of companies leaving the state. It’s unclear if the rules will apply to Democratic politicians’wineries, which climate activists say hurt the climate by sucking up water, using pesticides, and employing gas-powered tractors. California also banned the sale of gas-powered cars starting in 2035.
The Safer Streets For All Act
California’s pimps can now operate in the open after legislators decriminalized streetside sex solicitation in the name of equity. Supporters of the bill, authored by state Sen. Scott Wiener (D.), sought this repeal of California's longtime anti-loitering law, claiming police used it to target minorities and transgender people. Victims of sex trafficking opposed the new legislation, since the anti-loitering policy helped cops find exploited kids.
Senate Bills 923 and 107: Transgender Health Care
Senate Bill 923 will mandate employees of private health insurance companies to undergo "cultural competency" training to ensure they’re fluent in transgender speak, so that they can best assist customers who want to schedule genital surgeries, breast removals, or voice-changing therapies.
Some of those patients may be young kids, who could soon undergo gender reassignment surgery without parental consent. In August, the legislature passed Senate Bill 107, which empowers California courts to take temporary jurisdiction of kids who come to California from out of state in search of hormone therapy or other transition treatment.
SB 1327: Gun Bounties
Gov. Gavin Newsom (D.) was a driving force behind this law, which incentivizes Californians to sue state residents who buy, sell, lend, or transfer assault weapons. The state would cover the legal fees for any Californian who launches a successful suit and pay them at least $10,000 in additional compensation. The state’s ACLU chapter slammed the bill as "a radical and dangerous assault on our constitutional structure." A federal judge in Southern California blocked parts of the law late this month, teeing up a potential Supreme Court case for 2023.
Abortion Bills Galore
California lawmakers went all-in on abortion this year, establishing a $20 million taxpayer-funded Abortion Practical Support fund to cover the expenses of out-of-state women who head west to undergo the procedure. A bill from Sen. Lena Gonzalez (D.) barred private insurance plans from charging copays or deductibles for abortions. And a bill from state Sen. Anna Caballero (D.) required the state to establish an official "California abortion finder" website, which dismisses crisis pregnancy centers as "fake" clinics that disseminate misinformation.
Assembly Bill 2098: Policing Doctors' Speech
Newsom in September signed Assemblyman Evan Low’s (D.) bill into law, giving the California Medical Board the power to punish and disbar doctors who disseminate what the state deems "misinformation." The bill is specifically designed to stop doctors from spreading "misinformation" pertaining to COVID, like the idea that paper masks don’t stop transmission or that school closures do more harm than good. Lawsuits to block the bill are underway.
Stay tuned to see how these laws fare in 2023!

So what is it like in Santa Monica now? It depends on who you ask. If you ask Los Angeles Times reporters reviewing statistics, Santa Monica is a relative garden of Eden. The Times did a dive into police calls and, according to their review, it’s trending down. It spiked during the George Floyd riots when rioters looted and burned the city. But forget about that. The Times wants you to know that statistics show that it is so much better now. Police responses, arrests, and encounters are down.
There is a group of Santa Monica businesses and residents who see it differently. They’ve witnessed a lot of aggressive homeless, sex workers, and drug dealing. They want the world to know that there is a problem. They put up a sign that says:
Santa Monica IS NOT safe,” it reads, above a second sign with the words “Crime … depravity … outdoor mental asylum.”
Which is dramatic stuff, given that these merchants are all blue-city lefties who vote Democrat. Their billboard protest, which I've never seen done in those parts, is comparable to the tax strike going on among the gay businesses of San Francisco's Castro district. The little guys are screaming first because they are hit hardest.
And what might the problem be that renders this city unsafe?
Seems the bums, who are normally always present in the city, have gotten a strengthened entitlement mentality and are now aggressively going after shops, customers, foot traffic, and anyone in their vicinity. Pay them money for drugs, or they'll cut you.
Once the jewel of SoCal, progressive politics and corrupt bureaucrats have turned Santa Monica into the 6th most dangerous city in California.
Police on Thursday night arrested a homeless man suspected of stabbing two people at Santa Monica’s Ocean Front Walk Park, according to the city’s police department. The man, now identified as 26-year-old Jamal K. Lampitt, stabbed the first victim multiple times near a public restroom after a failed robbery attempt, then knifed a second male on a bike several times for “no apparent reason.”
Sadly, this is not unusual these days. Luckily both victims are recovering in the hospital and are expected to survive:
Apparently, no one can go out at night. Daytime is probably O.K., provided you avoid the panhandlers and passed-out bums, but at night, the city turns into an obstacle course to avoid assaults and killings. It's got a crime rate now like Compton's.
Which is shocking, because it's such a beautiful. human-friendly area, utterly walkable, replete with shops, restaurants, the beach, biking, sports, beautiful old hotels to meet friends for drinks, spas, used clothing shops with rich-people discards, yoga studios, young people, theatres, walkways, gardens, and beauty parlors. Best of all, unlike next-door Los Angeles, the city has excellent parking, with tons of conveniently located city garages and parking lots, which you pay for, but at a perfectly reasonable price.
Apparently, it's a no-go zone now, particularly at night, roughly parallel with the nightmare that San Francisco has become.
The most telling thing is about this slide downward is the indifference of the officials:
According to Thompson, taking us back to the merchant billboards:
“We care deeply about the success of Santa Monica businesses. It’s sad that a small group of landlords are working against our collective success through signage at the very moment when small businesses are welcoming holiday customers.”
They are all leftied up, pretending a problem that exists to the point that people are buying up billboard space to advertise their grievances, is non-existent, just a little local noise from the dreaded landlord class, which they hate just for being that.
They call names. They claim a problem does not exist. They do nothing but deny, which is redolent of the blather Chesa Boudin was spewing before he was thrown out by the voters in San Francisco in his recall, or the denial of the Bidenites of any border crisis or problem with inflation.
The old Santa Monica lefties of the People's Republic of Santa Monica used to know how to make the city liveable even as they mouthed their leftist nonsense. These lefties are the modern kind -- corrupt, in denial, and letting their domain go to hell in a handbasket, insulting the complainers making their way for the door.
That's what the left has become now, and Santa Monica had the driest tinder out there for the great descent into blue-city hellhole status, as so many have done.
Well, now the city leaders have achieved that, so too bad about the high taxes the residents pay and the falling real estate values that come of making a formerly nice city into a city of bums. The bums are aggressive and entitled now, but not nearly as aggressive and entitled as the city officials who wrecked that place.
Who are the real bums here?

Census: Foreign-Born Population Increases Across All 50 States in 2022
The foreign-born population grew across all 50 states and Washington, DC, this year, a result of the nation’s decades-long legal immigration levels, the latest United States Census Bureau figures show.
BLOG EDITOR: THEY HAVE NO IDEA HOW MANY ILLEGALS INVADED CA, AND THEY DON'T WISH TO KNOW!
While the foreign-born population grew nationwide, California, Florida, and Texas saw the highest gains. California, which lost overall residents this year, added nearly 128,000 immigrants to its population.
Florida, the fastest-growing state in the nation, added more than 125,600 immigrants to its population, while Texas added almost 119,000 immigrants this year.
The South, with 128.7 million residents, was the fastest-growing region in the nation this year, fueled by 868,000 Americans moving to the area from other states and the arrival of almost 415,000 immigrants.
As Breitbart News reported, the U.S. population hit 333.3 million residents this year. More than 80 percent of that population growth is due to the nation’s legal immigration levels, where more than a million foreign nationals are given green cards each year and another million arrive on temporary work visas to take American jobs.
The process known as “chain migration,” wherein newly naturalized citizens can sponsor an unlimited number of foreign relatives for green cards, drives more than 70 percent of the nation’s legal immigration every year.
Without the continued flow of legal immigration to the U.S., the population would have stabilized naturally with about 245,000 new residents added.
Research conducted last year shows that the nation’s foreign-born population is projected to hit a record nearly 70 million by 2060 if current legal immigration levels go unreduced. Today’s foreign-born population, at 48 million, is already the largest number of immigrants ever recorded in American history.
The latest Rasmussen Reports survey finds that 69 percent of Americans want legal immigration levels reduced — including a plurality of 36 percent who want levels cut in at least half. Likewise, 57 percent of Americans want to end chain migration.

You may have heard the phrase, “Get woke, go broke.” It has become a common phrase in the past few years, mainly because it keeps proving itself true.
San Francisco is a prime example of the death spiral going broke puts cities, businesses, and people into.
The city has long been a bastion of liberalism. When it became fashionable after the death of George Floyd to defund the police, the city jumped at the chance. The people elected a prosecutor who was willing to allow criminals to go free.
This led to police resigning and crime in the city skyrocketing. Not only did violent crime rise, so did public drug use and homeless encampments because no one would enforce those laws.
The citizens and some government officials suddenly realized that police were needed. Politicians tried to refund the department as citizens called for police to enforce the laws.
The problem was the city has slipped into the death spiral. Even as politicians tried to pull it back, the crime problem led to citizens and companies leaving the cities in droves. San Francisco now has some of the lowest office occupancy rates in the country, “thanks to the tech companies that make the city’s lifeblood retreating to remote work, San Francisco has seen residents move to the suburbs – pushed also by rising crime,” the Daily Mail reported.
This has reduced the tax base, which means there is less money available to fund cities programs and services.
To compensate, programs and services will need to be cut or taxes raised. Both of which will drive more people from the city, leaving behind those most in needs of programs and less likely to be contributing much to the city’s coffers through taxes.
San Francisco Mayor London Breed has let city departments know they need to reduce their costs by 5 percent next year and 8 percent in 2024 to help close the $728 million budget shortfall expected over the next two years.
As these citizens’ need increase, crime will continue to rise, driving more businesses out further reducing the tax base. Property tax revenues are expected to fall $261 million over the next two years.
See how this works? If you do, you are ahead of most liberal politicians.
So how do they get out of this spiral? The best way (which means it won’t be the way the politicians choose) is to cut unneeded personnel and services from the city budget and focus on getting crime down.
A leaner budget is easier to fund, and crime must come down if there is any hope of attracting citizens and businesses back.
“We know the challenges facing San Francisco are significant, and we have a lot of work ahead of us to maintain the city’s recovery efforts,” Breed said. “As we work to close this deficit, it will require tough choices and real tradeoffs.”
The city has a fine location, and people would be willing to return, but they are less willing to deal with woke nonsense. They can see it’s not working, even if governments and businesses can’t.

Nancy Pelosi: ‘As Speaker of the House, I Have Awesome Power’
“As Speaker of the House, I have awesome power,” said Pelosi.
“Now transitioning to a different role, I expect to have strong influence, but not on my Members, just in terms of encouraging more women, for example, to run,” she said.
“But the Speaker of the House is a very big job, and just wrapping it up will take time, with the Library of Congress for the papers, with the Historian of the Capitol–of the Congress–in terms of interviews and the rest of that,” said Pelosi.
Reporter: “Speaker of the House twice. This is a major transition moment–to now move into a different role in the House your family has long been connected to.
“Could you offer us some thoughts about how you will approach your new role in the House in the new year, both on policy and on your role with the Democratic Party? How do you see 2023 for Congresswoman Pelosi?”
Speaker Pelosi: “Well, we could have a whole seminar on that, but we won't because we're waiting to hear from the Senate.
“Here's the thing. As Speaker of the House, I have awesome power.
“As a – now transitioning to a different role, I expect to have strong influence, but not on my Members, just in terms of encouraging more women, for example, to run, to talk about civics and how we have to – it used to be a requirement when I was little, a hundred years ago, but now it's an elective and most people are not familiar. So I'll have to see what that path is.
“But the Speaker of the House is a very big job, and just wrapping it up will take time, with the Library of Congress for the papers, with the Historian of the Capitol – of the Congress – in terms of interviews and the rest of that.
“And in just – I think that probably the most overwhelming thing I'll be doing forever is saying thank you. Thank you to my Members. Thank you to the intellectual resources that have helped us with policy. Thank you for those who have helped us politically to attain our Majorities and our strength in the Congress.
“I think my life will be about accountability to the record, the history, and thank you to those who made all of that possible.
“You mentioned John F. Kennedy. I'll close with this. You've heard me say it many times. I'll say it now again, because it identified with what President Biden has been doing.
“When I was in school, I went to President Kennedy's Inauguration on the East Front, freezing cold, freezing cold. The whole world, every child in America knows that, in that speech, he said to the citizens of America: ‘Ask not what our country can do for you, but what you can do for our country.’ You've said it. I see you all mouthing it.
“The very next sentence is what struck me, the very next sentence.
“‘To the citizens of the world, ask not what America can do for you, but what we can do working together for the freedom of mankind.’
“That's what President Kennedy said. Not condescension, not doing something for, but working together.
“And I've said this to President Biden, and I said it at the Saint Patrick's Day lunch, because that's a, you know, Kennedy connection there. I said to President Biden, ‘You have fulfilled in so many ways what President Kennedy was signaling, working together with all of the countries to come together to support Ukraine, not by dictating what we think is the way to go, but to listening, working together, so that everybody felt committed to a plan for the freedom of mankind.’
“And that's how I tie being there as my father's daughter at the Inauguration to what happened this week and what our responsibilities are later.
“But I – my goal and my wish is that the Members, our new Leadership in the House, based on the foundation that we have laid or forming their own approach, will do even better than the significant legislative successes that I have had as Speaker of the House.
“Thank you all. Happy holidays. Merry Christmas. Happy Kwanzaa. Happy Hanukkah. Whatever you celebrate, enjoy your families.”
Nancy Pelosi Will Not Commit to Voting on Bill Banning TikTok from U.S. Government Devices
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) will not commit to putting legislation to a vote that was passed by unanimous consent in the Senate to ban the Chinese social media app TikTok from U.S. government devices amid national security risks.
Amid warnings about the Chinese social media app from Democrats and Republicans, including the Biden administration, Pelosi said on Thursday that she has not yet decided if she would bring to a vote the Senate’s newly passed legislation to ban TikTok on any U.S. government-owned devices.
“We’re checking with the administration – just in terms of language – not in terms of being opposed to the idea,” Pelosi told reporters the day following the Senate’s vote. “I don’t know that that will be on the agenda next week, but it’s very, very important.”
For the legislation to become law, the House would need to pass the Senate’s bill before the end of the congressional session, which is expected to be next week. After passing through Congress, it would then go to President Joe Biden’s desk, where he can sign it into law.
On Wednesday, Senate passed Sen. Josh Hawley’s (R-MO) No TikTok on Government Devices Act by unanimousconsent.

The legislation would ultimately ban the Chinese social media app or any of its successors or services developed or provided by ByteDance Limited and any entities from the company. The only exception in the bill was for any “law enforcement activities, national security interests and activities, and security researchers” as long as they “develop and document risk mitigation actions for such use.”
The companion bill to Hawley’s legislation was introduced in the House last year by Rep. Ken Buck, but it was yet to be approved by the members of the House Oversight Committee, which needs to happen before it goes to the floor.
In recent months, there has been a push from Democrat and Republican public officials to take and/or call for action against the Chinese social media app over concerns that it could surveil Americans.
On the state level, Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) said on Thursday the Peach State would be joining other states, such as Iowa, South Dakota, South Carolina, Texas, and others, in banning the Chinese social media app from state devices amid concerns that data could be passed on to the Chinese government,
A Rasmussen Reports survey released last week found that most voters believe the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) could use the app to “collect sensitive national security information from U.S. government employees.” A majority also supported having federal legislation to ban TikTok from the U.S.
From the moment Joe Biden assumed the presidency, immigration has been at the top of his agenda. One of his first acts was to sign a series of executive orders that reversed the Trump administration's policies on things like border wall funding, travel bans, and sanctuary laws.
While Trump's goal for immigration policy was clearly articulated in his "Make America Great Again" concept, we have heard little on where Biden intends to take us with his immigration plank. Judging from his actions so far, though, the destination is clear. He wants to make America into California, and that should deeply concern every U.S. citizen.
What anti-borders politicians have done to California over the last 30 years is a disgrace. The home of Hollywood and Silicon Valley, once a beacon of opportunity and prosperity, is today a sinking ship. Immigration policy is a significant factor in that decline.
Taking on a massive population of illegal aliens has come at a colossal cost to Californians, in terms of finances, safety, and job opportunities, to name a few. State residents foot the bill for more than $23 billion that is directly attributable to illegal immigration and its effects. That breaks down to almost $2,000 for every legally present household each year. This from a state that is already carrying more than $1.3 trillion in total state, county, and municipal debt. Who wouldn't want to pay a hefty tax each year to encourage more illegal aliens to move to your community?
The chief catalyst for California's illegal alien crisis has been its embrace of sanctuary laws. By preventing local law enforcement from cooperating with federal immigration authorities in the deportation of criminal aliens, there are virtually no consequences for violating our nation's immigration laws inside the state of California.
While the Orwellian-named California Values Act (S.B. 54) made sanctuary policy state law, it seems downright moderate compared to what some cities and counties have done. S.B. 54 at least allows cooperation with ICE in only the most extreme of circumstances.
The sanctuary law in Santa Clara, the largest county in northern California, takes an even more radical position, stating that the county "does not, under any circumstances, honor civil detainer requests from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) by holding inmates on ICE's behalf for additional time after they would otherwise be released from County custody."
Before sanctuary laws, it had long been a practice of local law enforcement to cooperate with detainer requests as a way to expedite criminal aliens toward deportation.
The results of this policy have been about as bad as you might expect. In Santa Clara County last November, police arrested Fernando De Jesus Lopez-Garcia after he allegedly stabbed five people inside the Grace Baptist Church, killing two and leaving three others seriously injured.
One witness called 911 to say a "man was going crazy, stabbing people and there was blood everywhere." He was arrested on two counts of murder, three counts of attempted murder, battery on a spouse, and violation of a protective order.
Lopez-Garcia is an illegal alien with an extensive criminal record who had successfully avoided ICE apprehension after each arrest because of local and state sanctuary laws barring cooperation with federal immigration authorities.
In 2019, police arrested Carlos Eduardo Arevalo Carranza, an illegal alien from El Salvador, for allegedly beating and stabbing Bambi Larson to death in her San Jose home. Reports later disclosed that police had previously arrested Carranza ten times for drugs, kidnapping, battery against a police officer, and burglary. ICE had requested an immigration hold on Carranza seven times, but the Santa Clara Sheriff's Office (SCSO) refused every request. Facing criticism for the sanctuary policy, the county supervisors met and inexplicably voted 5-0 to double down on the policy.
My organization, the Immigration Reform Law Institute (IRLI), recently concluded an investigation into these practices in Santa Clara and found some disturbing results.
We submitted a records request with the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office to discover just how many ICE detainers it has received in recent time and how many of them applied to aliens with serious criminal backgrounds. That request revealed that ICE lodged a total of 1,757 detainers in just two years — 909 requests in 2019 and 848 in 2020. The law enforcement records technician with the sheriff's office confirmed with IRLI that every single one of these requests was ignored.
The Sheriff's Office refused to disclose to IRLI how many of the detainer requests applied to aliens who were convicted or charged with serious or violent felony offenses. When IRLI asked about the last year an ICE detainer request was honored by the county, a records technician there replied that he could not find records that showed the last time a detainer request was honored.
The results of these laws are clear. The county has become a haven for illegal aliens, particularly those with criminal records. The communities are demonstrably less safe, and the influx of new arrivals creates a heavy financial burden on legal state residents. Is it any wonder that taxpayers are fleeing the state in droves?
As the Biden administration goes full speed with its anti-borders agenda, however, there will be no place for concerned Americans to flee. California-style laws will soon become federal laws. We're about to conduct a national experiment in anti-borders cause and effect. Buckle up.

In early 2020, the Trump administration finalized a federal regulation known as the “public charge” rule that made it less likely for foreign nationals to secure green cards to permanently reside in the United States if they had previously used welfare programs like food stamps, Medicaid, or taxpayer-funded housing programs.
Almost immediately after taking office, Biden threw out the finalized public charge rule imposed by the Trump administration, blowing open the door for welfare-dependent legal immigration to the United States, for which American taxpayers will ultimately foot the bill.
Data: Sanctuary States Highly Successful in Shielding Criminal Illegal Aliens from Deportation
Sanctuary states have been highly successful in shielding criminal illegal aliens from arrest and deportation by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, new data reveals.
California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Vermont, and Washington are among the nation’s largest sanctuary jurisdictions as they impose statewide policies that prevent local law enforcement from cooperating with ICE.
Colorado Department of Corrections data published by KRDO 13 in an exclusive report reveals the extent to which the state’s sanctuary policy has ensured that ICE agents do not bother with issuing detainers for illegal alien inmates as officials are not allowed to honor such detainers.
The detainers ask officials to hold illegal aliens in their custody until ICE agents can take over custody, putting them in federal detention and beginning deportation proceedings.
Since 2009, KRDO 13 reports, ICE detainers placed on illegal alien inmates in Colorado Department of Corrections custody have been cut in half from nearly 1,300 in 2009 to fewer than 530 this month.
@SeanRiceTV via Twitter
The data comes as KRDO 13 revealed that three illegal aliens accused of murdering a 30-year-old man in El Paso County, Colorado had previously been arrested, some convicted, in the state but were released from custody rather than being turned over to ICE agents.
In June, Breitbart News exclusively reported how human smugglers take full advantage of sanctuary states to carry out their operations in smuggling illegal aliens throughout the United States.
Whistleblowers told Breitbart News at the time that California’s sanctuary state policy, for instance, is a vital tool for human smugglers. In cases where federal agents are trying to track down smugglers and the illegal aliens they are smuggling, whistleblowers said California local police almost never intervene to help with arrests.
“If the illegal aliens have seatbelts on, the cops won’t call us to report smuggling. So long as they’re following state laws,” a whistleblower said. “The sheriffs cannot, by law, pick up migrants even if they had an ICE detainer after they finish their sentence, they’ll just let them loose.”

Biden’s DHS Releases into U.S. Nearly 1.4K Illegal Alien Convicted Criminals in Less than Three Months
President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has released nearly 1,400 illegal alien convicted criminals from detention into American communities in less than three months, data shows.
The latest Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) data reveals that from October through December 18, Biden’s DHS has released 1,363 illegal alien convicts into American communities along with more than 1,800 illegal aliens with pending criminal charges against them.
Of the illegal alien convicts released from DHS custody, 463 bonded out, 421 were given an order of recognizance, 371 were given an order of supervision, and 108 were paroled.
In total, more than 35,000 illegal aliens were released from DHS custody into the United States interior from October through December 18. Most significantly, the agency seems to be increasing releases, as those freed from custody in the first 18 days of this month eclipse the total number of releases last month.
RJ Hauman, with the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), suggested that the Biden administration may be violating the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) with the mass release of illegal alien convicts from DHS custody.
Specifically, Hauman cites this INA statute:
The Attorney General may release an alien described in paragraph (1) only if the Attorney General decides pursuant to section 3521 of title 18 that release of the alien from custody is necessary to provide protection to a witness, a potential witness, a person cooperating with an investigation into major criminal activity, or an immediate family member or close associate of a witness, potential witness, or person cooperating with such an investigation, and the alien satisfies the Attorney General that the alien will not pose a danger to the safety of other persons or of property and is likely to appear for any scheduled proceeding. A decision relating to such release shall take place in accordance with a procedure that considers the severity of the offense committed by the alien. [Emphasis added]
“The law explicitly requires that those who cross the border illegally be detained, but the Biden administration clearly doesn’t want to detain or deport anyone,” Hauman told Breitbart News.
“So it isn’t surprising that they are attempting to undermine the rule of law by not only cutting overall detention capacity but illegally releasing criminal aliens as well,” he continued. “Public safety is under attack to advance their open borders agenda.”
As Breitbart News has chronicled, the Biden administration has sought to gut interior immigration enforcement through so-called “sanctuary country” measures that protect most of the nation’s 11 to 22 million illegal aliens from arrest and deportation by ICE agents.
Last year, for instance, Biden’s DHS drastically cut deportations of illegal aliens living in American communities — some by more than 90 percent compared to 2019. The agency has also reduced arrests of illegal aliens living throughout the United States by more than 70 percent.
