New York Gov. Kathy Hochul Assigns 250 National Guard Members to Fast-Track Illegals to Work Permits
Gov. Kathy Hochul (D-NY) announced Monday that she is assigning another 150 New York National Guard members to fast-track work permits for tens of thousands of illegals with an eye toward transitioning them out of state-run migrant shelters and into the state’s population.
During her September 25 presser, Hochul noted that with the additional forces deployed, she would have put 2,200 soldiers to work for illegals, helping them gain legal status and protecting them in shelters. At least 250 of those soldiers are assigned solely to “case management” paperwork, the Times Union reported.
The troops are set to help illegal aliens fill out forms to apply for work authorization. They will focus especially on border crossers from Venezuela, who were recently granted protected status by President Joe Biden.

As Breitbart News reported, Biden’s Temporary Protected Status (TPS) expansion will add one more foreign worker for every nine Americans seeking a job this year.
“The National Guard has already been working to survey them,” Hochul said of the illegals hoping to join the workforce in the Empire State, continuing:
We have different categories. Some people are eligible to work right now if they already came in through the Customs and Border Protection app… There are the asylum seekers who need to apply for asylum and wait 180 days. And now we have this new category that allow [sic] the expedited work permits for Venezuelans who arrived here earlier.
On September 20, Hochul released a statement to pressure businesses to hire newly authorized migrants and “directed the New York State Department of Labor to connect employers with newly-eligible asylum seekers and migrants who [are] on the path to receiving work authorizations.”
“Work authorization is the way out of the migrant crisis,” Hochul exclaimed. “Individuals who achieve legal work status will be able to exit the shelter system, find work opportunities and get their shot at the American Dream.”

Hochul took heavy criticism from former gubernatorial opponent Lee Zeldin, who blasted Hochul for destroying the American dream in New York, saying, “Your American dream is no longer a New York dream.”
Hochul’s one-time opponent is not alone. A recent poll of Gen Zers found that a whopping 74 percent feel the American dream that their parents were able to achieve is now out of reach for most people.

Mexico Dangles Deal to Guard Biden’s Open Border
Mexican officials claim they have a deal to help guard Americans’ open border against millions of President Joe Biden’s economic migrants.
“Mexican officials vowed to carry out a series of 15 actions as part of the [claimed] agreement, some in coordination with [U.S.] Customs and Border Protection and [a Mexican railroad company] Ferromex … It will also allow US border patrol agents to expel [some] migrants through the Ciudad Juárez international bridge, which connects to El Paso,” said a September 24 report by CNN.
More importantly, Mexican officials also dangled a deal to stop or reduce the flood of migrants from Venezuela, Cuba, and other countries, according to CNN:
[Mexico] said it will carry out negotiations with the governments of Venezuela, Brazil, Nicaragua, Colombia and Cuba to confirm receipt of their citizens deported from the US-Mexico border.
However, U.S. officials have not announced any deal, even as they posted a vague press release about continued negotiations with Mexico.
“We are continuing to work closely with our partners in Mexico to increase security and address irregular migration along our shared border,” said a September 24 statement from Troy Miller, the stand-in temporary Commissioner of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency.
The Mexican claims of a deal likely are a negotiating tactic with Biden, who is vulnerable to election-year pressure from Mexico because Mayorkas opened the border to a very unpopular wave of migrants. For example, Mayorkas refuses to detain asylum-seekers — as required by law — and released 260,000 more migrants in August.

The claimed deal could be good for Biden because it would hide election-year migration –while redirecting inevitable criticism from Biden’s pro-migration progressive and business allies towards Mexico.
But any Mexican curbs would be difficult to implement if Biden and other U.S. officials let migrants get jobs in the United States. As long as migrants believe they will get U.S. jobs, they will borrow money to pay coyotes and bribe Mexican police.
Existing Deals

The existing deals are likely intended by Mayorkas to avoid a repeat of the 2021 Del Rio PR disaster, when Mexico directed about 30,000 Haitian migrants to cross the Rio Grande at Del Rio, Texas. That extraordinary scene was covered briefly on the evening networks, causing significant damage to Biden’s poll ratings.
But Mexico also gains from the border cooperation.
For example, Mayorkas allows 50,000 Mexicans to settle each month in Americans’ communities, regardless of Congress’ immigration law. The monthly transfer of 50,000 Mexicans adds up to 600,000 Mexicans each year being allowed to get Americans’ jobs, homes, government resources, and political power.

Just imagine: There are 40 million Mexicans in the United States — 40 million [including people] who were born here in Mexico, [or] who are the children of people who were born in Mexico.
But he also demanded a U.S. amnesty for Mexico’s illegals — and praised Biden’s pro-migration policies:
I fully trust President Biden … I’ve asked President Biden to insist before the U.S. Congress to regularize the migration situations of millions of Mexicans who have been in the States working, living in the United States, and contributing to the development of that great nation, which is the United States of America.
…
We do celebrate the fact that the U.S. administration has … made the decision, rather, to have an orderly migration flow in the case, for instance, of our Venezuelan brothers and sisters … [and] a lot of migrants from Venezuela, from Nicaragua, Colombia, Ecuador.
Amid the U.S.-Mexican negotiations over migration, Biden has not negotiated any significant deal to stop the flow of Mexico’s deadly drugs into Americans’ communities. The opioid drugs kill at least 70,000 Americans each year — or more than the 55,000 Americans who died in Vietnam — even as Washington D.C. does little to threaten or bribe Mexico to stop the drug smuggling.
Numbers
Biden’s deputies welcomed about 260,000 migrants across the border in August. That is 23 times the inflow of 11,652 migrants in President Donald Trump’s last full month before his defeat in the 2020 election.
Biden’s growing inflow is intended to help Biden’s business allies and progressive supporters. But it is difficult to hide the unpopular inflow from the voters — and it is expected to surpass 400,000 this month.
The far smaller inflow under Trump was enabled by Trump’s willingness to apply trade pressure against Mexico. That economic pressure quickly prompted Mexico to curb migration — but it ended once Biden was inaugurated in January 2021.

The 260,000 Biden arrivals in August 2023 include 232,972 migrants allowed across the border as Title 8 migrants, plus the monthly inflow of roughly 30,000 migrants each month who are being invited to fly into U.S. airports from their home countries.
The August inflow also included 55,502 Mexican migrants, even though Mayorkas has the legal authority to send the migrants back over the U.S.-Mexican border.

CNN reported the deal on Sunday:
As part of the agreement, Mexico agreed to “depressurize” its northern cities, which border the El Paso, San Diego and Eagle Pass, Texas, where the mayor has declared a state of emergency. They will also implement more than a dozen actions to prevent migrants from risking their lives by using the railway system to reach the US-Mexico border, according to Mexico’s National Migration Institute.
The TexasTribune.org described the claimed deal:
Mexico will deport certain migrants from some of its northern border cities as part of an agreement with U.S. immigration officials who have reported a sharp increase of migrants attempting to cross the border in recent weeks, according to Mexico’s immigration enforcement authority.
Mexico’s [government-run] National Migration Institute said that it wants to “depressurize” the border cities of Ciudad Juárez, Piedras Negras, Tijuana and the northern state of Tamaulipas, where large numbers of migrants have recently crossed the border and where U.S. Border Patrol agents have arrested thousands of them.
The institute didn’t say when the deportations will begin or how long they will last, adding that it will first negotiate with Venezuela, Brazil, Nicaragua, Colombia and Cuba to make sure those countries will receive its citizens.
Mexico’s migration agency issued a statement about the meeting, complete with a photo of Mayorkas’s deputies.
Our Self-Induced Catastrophe at the Border
No nation in history has survived once its borders were destroyed.
Since early 2021, we have witnessed somewhere between 7 and 8 million illegal entries across the now nonexistent U.S. southern border.
The more the border vanished, the more federal immigration law was rendered inert, and the more Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas spun fantasies that the “border is secure.” He is now written off as a veritable “Baghdad Bob” propagandist.
But how and why did the Biden administration destroy immigration law as we knew it?
The Trump administration’s initial efforts to close the border had been continually obstructed in Congress, sabotaged by the administrative state, and stymied in the courts. Nonetheless, it had finally secured the border by early 2020.
Yet almost all its successful initiatives were immediately overturned in 2021.
The wall was abruptly stopped, and its projected trajectory was canceled. The Obama-era disastrous “catch-and-release” policy of immigration non-enforcement was resurrected.
Prior successful pressure on Mexico’s President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador to stop the deliberate export of his own citizens northward ceased.
Federal border patrol officers were forced to stand down.
New federal subsidies were granted to entice and then support illegal arrivals.
No one in the Democratic Party objected to the destruction of the border or the subversion of immigration law.
However, things changed somewhat once swamped southern border states began to bus or fly a few thousand of their illegal immigrants northward to sanctuary city jurisdictions, especially New York, Chicago, and even Martha’s Vineyard.
The sanctuary-city “humanists” there who had greenlighted illegal immigration into the southern states suddenly shrieked. They were irate after experiencing the concrete consequences of their own prior abstract border agendas. After all, their nihilism was always supposed to fall upon distant and ridiculed others.
New York Mayor Eric Adams went from celebrating a few dozen illegal immigrants bused into Manhattan to blasting his own party by allowing tens of thousands to swamp his now-bankrupt city.
But why did the Biden administration deliberately unleash the largest influx across the southern border in U.S. history?
The ethnic chauvinists and Democratic Party elites needed new constituents, given their increasingly unpopular agendas.
They feared that the more legal Latino immigrants assimilated and integrated into American society, the less happy they became with left-wing radical abortion, racial, transgender, crime, and green fixations.
Democratic grandees had always bragged that illegal immigration would create what they called “The New Democratic Majority” in “Demography is Destiny” fashion. Now they slander critics as “racists” who object to left-wing efforts to use illegal immigration to turn southwestern red states blue.

Mexico now cannot survive as a modern state without some $60 billion in annual remittances sent by its expatriates in America. However, many illegal immigrants rely on American state and federal entitlements to free up cash to send home.
Mexico also encourages its own abject poor and often indigenous people from southern Mexico to head north as a safety valve of sorts. The government sees these mass exoduses northward as preferable to the oppressed marching on Mexico City to address grievances of poverty and racism.
The criminal cartels now de facto-run Mexico. An open border allows them to ship fentanyl northward, earn billions in profits — and kill nearly 100,000 Americans a year. Illegal immigrants pay cartels additional billions to facilitate their border crossings.
Do not forget American corporate employers. Record labor nonparticipation followed the COVID lockdown. In reaction to the dearth of American workers, the hospitality, meat packing, social service, health care, and farming industries were desperate to hire new — and far cheaper — labor.
Human rights activists insist that the borders themselves are nineteenth-century relics. And the global poor and oppressed, thus, have a human right to enter the affluent West by any means necessary.
Many in the tony suburbs and in universities do not live anywhere near the border. So they pontificate on the assurance that thousands of unaudited illegal immigrants will never enter their own enclaves or campuses.
The result is elite-bottled piety — but not firsthand experience with the natural consequences of millions chaotically fleeing one of the poorest countries in the world to pour into the wealthiest. Without background checks, vaccinations and health audits, legality, high-school diplomas, English facility, skill sets, or capital, the result is an abject catastrophe.
Polls continue to show that the American people support measured, diverse, legal, and meritocratic immigration as much as they oppose mass illegal immigration into their country and the subsequent loss of American sovereignty on the border.
They understand what the Biden administration does not: No nation is history has survived once its borders were destroyed, once its citizenship was rendered no different from mere residence, and once its neighbors with impunity undermined its sovereignty.
Ending illegal immigration now depends solely on the American people overriding the corrupt special interests and leaders who profit from the current chaos and human misery.

White House Deal with Mexico: More Migrants, Less Video
A White House official has signed a border management deal with Mexico to minimize the visibility of accelerating mass illegal migration once officials lift the Title 42 barrier that now protects Americans.
The deal is not intended to block labor migration into Americans’ workplaces and neighborhoods, said Rosemary Jenks, the director of Government Relations for NumbersUSA: “It’s all designed to mask what is the intended goal of the Biden administration — which is to bring in as many people as possible.”
The administration’s same-day announcement that it sending 1,500 troops to the border “is all part of that distraction,” she added. The troops will be “pushing paper and stocking warehouses” to help Biden’s border agents and its progressive non-profit register more migrants for flights and bus trips to Americans’ cities and towns.
The deal with Mexico cooperation helps Biden’s deputies quietly funnel the chaotic and growing flood of illegal, job-seeking migrants through hidden side doors in the border, she said:
You no longer have videos of hundreds of people streaming across the Rio Grande [because] people are being flown in on taxpayer dollars, [and] poor people are coming through the ports of entry — again, with no legal right to be there — so that it doesn’t look like chaos …. [But] the end result is exactly the same: A massive number of people with no right to be here coming into the United States, using taxpayer dollars, taking taxpayer-funded services, competing for housing, competing for jobs, all of the rest of it.
Officials are already inviting up to 30,000 migrants per month to fly from four countries into airports around the United States. They are also helping to bus roughly 25,000 migrants from shelters in Mexico to border sites for quiet catch-and-release processing.
“It is stunning, the lawlessness of this administration,” she added. “They just create these programs out of whole cloth … — these people are making their own laws and nobody’s stopping them.”
The Biden policies are facing legal review in a federal court in Texas, and the U.S. Supreme Court is expected to issue a decision by June.
Understandably, Mexico is using its power over the border flow to extract rewards from the U.S. government, she said.
“Mexico has power over the United States,” said Jenks. “Mexico is letting all of these people in through its borders, and it’s doing that very intentionally [because it has the power to] stop it, or … increase the flow.”
For example, Mexico steered up to 30,000 Haitian migrants to the Del Rio crossing in Texas in September 2021. The event was a shock to the Biden administration because the migrant flood was broadcast on the evening TV news to the many Americans who do not monitor political news.
“Mexico has no reason to agree to this [deal] if they’re not getting something of equal value or more value in exchange –I just don’t know what that is,” Jenks said.
The deal “consolidates Mexico’s role as the lynchpin in the US’ migration containment strategy,” said Mexican journalist, José DÃaz Briseño.
The strategy is sometimes called. “border externalization,” because it allows White House officials — and their business allies — to quietly sign deals with foreign countries instead of openly negotiating with a divided Congress and hostile voters.
Mexico’s president, Lopez Obrador, is using his power over the U.S. border to minimize U.S. protests while he expands authoritarian rule in Mexico, said a tweet by author David Frum.
Obarado has long sought to swap border cooperation in exchange for more Mexicans and Latinos getting U.S. jobs that otherwise would go to Americans.
The White House’s official statement revealed little about the deal.
For example, it said, “Mexico will continue to accept back migrants on humanitarian grounds” without revealing the monthly cap on return. The current cap is just 30,000, which is far below the monthly arrival of more than 180,000 in April.
The statement does not discuss curbs on the flow of drugs into the United States, which now kill roughly 100,000 Americans each year.
The statement does not talk about the rising flood of global migrants from Chile, Colombia, India, China, Brazil, Cameroon, Nepal, Russia, and more than 150 other countries. Under Biden’s policies, very few migrants from those countries are being sent home. This passive policy ensures that successful migrants will summon many more migrants from their home countries.
Biden’s deputies want to import more foreigners for the jobs and homes that would otherwise go to Americans. For example, the pro-migration border chief, Alejandro Mayorkas, said on April 21:
Our model is as follows: Build lawful pathways, cut out the smugglers who exploit these vulnerable individuals. Build lawful pathways, give individuals an opportunity to reach the United States safely in an orderly way to avail themselves of the humanitarian relief our laws provide.
The White House statement did say that U.S. officials also plan to import another 100,000 poor migrants from Central America. The lucky migrants are the left-behind children of migrants who illegally sneaked into the U.S. economy.
The new pipeline comes after officials announced they would open two pipelines from Colombia and Panama, even as they expand many other inflows of migrants and visa workers.
“Everything that the Biden administration does has the effect of bringing more people into the United States who should not be here and do not have a right to be here,” said Jenks
In 1990, Congress set current immigration levels at about one million per year, alongside a flow of temporary workers for favored interest groups, including farmers, resort operators, and Fortune 500 companies. Those high caps provide roughly one immigrant for every four U.S. births but helped limit the migration-imposed damage to Americans’ national labor and housing markets.
Biden’s cooperation with other countries, and the establishment media, helped minimize the public recognition and response to Biden’s population policy. “They got away with [an inflow of] 4.5, to 6 million people over the last two years,” she said.
Despite the massive inflow, Biden’s deputies and their allies are portraying his border policies as a return to the l0w migraiton rules set by President Donald Trump and his deputies.
Extraction Migration
The federal government has long operated an unpopular economic policy of Extraction Migration. This colonialism-like policy extracts vast amounts of human resources from needy countries, reduces beneficial trade, and uses the imported workers, renters, and consumers to grow Wall Street and the economy.
The migrant inflow has successfully forced down Americans’ wages and also boosted rents and housing prices. The inflow has also pushed many native-born Americans out of careers in a wide variety of business sectors and contributed to the rising death rate of poor Americans.
The lethal policy also sucks jobs and wealth from heartland states by subsidizing coastal investors with a flood of low-wage workers, high-occupancy renters, and government-aided consumers.
The population inflow also reduces the political clout of native-born Americans, because the population replacement allows elites to divorce themselves from the needs and interests of ordinary Americans.
In many speeches, Mayorkas says he is building a mass migration system to deliver workers to wealthy employers and investors and “equity” to poor foreigners. The nation’s border laws are subordinate to elite opinion about “the values of our country,” Mayorkas claims.
Migration — and especially, labor migration — is unpopular among swing voters. A 54 percent majority of Americans say Biden is allowing a southern border invasion, according to an August 2022 poll commissioned by the left-of-center National Public Radio (NPR). The 54 percent “Invasion” majority included 76 percent of Republicans, 46 percent of independents, and even 40 percent of Democrats.

Mexico: Where Is Your Shame?

Immigration: Mexico's government gloated triumphantly after a federal judge's injunction blocked Arizona's immigration law. But it's no victory for Mexico. In fact, Mexico's leaders ought to be mortified.
As radical immigration activists crowed with glee and the Obama administration claimed victory, Mexico's government joined the applause.
Calling Judge Susan Bolton's injunction Wednesday "a step in the right direction," Mexican Foreign Minister Patricia Espinosa declared: "The government of Mexico would like to express its recognition for the determination demonstrated by the federal government of the United States and the actions of the civil organizations that organized lawsuits against the SB 1070 law."
In reality, it ought to be ashamed. Supposedly framed as an issue of federal power pre-empting state power, it's hardly Mexico's business. But Mexico made a big show of saying its interest was in protecting its nationals from the dreadful racism of Arizona that its own citizens, curiously enough, keep fleeing to.
Espinosa said her government was busy collecting data on civil rights violations and her department had issued an all-out travel warning to Mexican nationals about Arizona.
That's where Mexico's hypocrisy is just too much.
First, Mexico encourages illegal immigration to the U.S. Oh, it says it doesn't, but it prints comic book guides for would-be illegal immigrants and provides ID cards for illegals once they get here. In Arizona alone, Mexico keeps five consulates busy.
That's not out of love for its own citizens, but because Mexicans send cash back to Mexico that helps finance the government.
Instead of selling its wasteful state-owned oil company or getting rid of red tape to create jobs in Mexico, Mexico spends the hard currency from remittances. It fails to look at why its citizens leave.
According to the Heritage Foundation-Wall Street Journal 2010 Index of Economic Freedom, Mexico's big problem is — no shock — government corruption, where it ranks below the world average.
That's where Mexico's cartels come in.
Mexico's encouragement of illegal immigration undercuts its valiant war against its smuggling cartels. The cartels' prowess and firepower have made them the only ones who can smuggle effectively across the border. U.S. law enforcers say they now control human-smuggling on our southern border.
Feed them immigrants and they grow more cash-rich — and right now, immigrant smuggling is about a third of the cartels' income.
Mass graves and car bombings are signs of criminal organizations getting bigger, and more powerful. Juarez, which has lost 5,000 people this year, bleeds because cartels fight over not just who gets the drug routes, but who gets the illegal-immigrant smuggling routes, too.
Aside from the cartel mayhem in Mexico, the bodies are piling up in the Arizona desert and U.S. Border Patrol rescues of abandoned illegals left to die have risen.
It's not the desert's fault, and it's certainly not Uncle Sam's fault, as activists claim. No, it's the fact that Mexicans are encouraged to emigrate. Criminal cartels don't fear abandoning their human cargo in the desert, as long as Mexico does nothing and blames Uncle Sam.
Hearing Mexico's government now cheer the Arizona ruling, which will only encourage more illegal immigration, gives the country's regime a pretty inhuman face.
If Mexico had any decency, it would do all it could to discourage illegal immigration and keep a respectful silence about Arizona.
It needs U.S. support for its war on cartels. Instead of insulting American citizens, Mexico should confront directly the reasons why its people are so desperate to leave, and do all in its power to destroy the cartels that are slowly killing the nation. That includes defunding the murderous gangs by halting illegal immigration.
Mexico’s President Says Biden Responsible for Migrant Surge at Border

Expectations created by President Joe Biden about better treatment for migrants led to the current border surge, said Mexico’s President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (AMLO).
During his daily news conference, AMLO spoke about the ongoing border crisis and said the increase in migrants entering Mexico and heading to the U.S. is partly due to the expectations created by President Biden.

The statements come one day after Mexico’s military confirmed the deployment of 8,700 soldiers to curb the growing number of migrants traveling through the country.

Mexico’s president says he will share with President Joe Bid
en his willingness to find a way to legalize the flow of migrants from Central America and Mexico as a way to meet American labor needs.
“I have a teleconference with Biden on Monday and we are going to talk about that topic,” President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (AMLO) said this weekend during one of his news conferences. “Let’s fix the migratory flow, legalizing it, to give guarantees to the workers so they don’t risk their lives, and that their human rights are protected.”
During the conference, AMLO said the U.S. would need about 600,000 to 800,000 laborers per year for economic growth. The Mexican politician brought up the Bracero program when the U.S. provided migrant farmworkers with permits during World War II.
The topic of the migrant workflow had not been previously discussed publicly by the Foreign Relations Ministry or the Interior Secretariat ahead of the virtual meeting between Lopez Obrador and Biden.
The issue comes as Mexican authorities see a
dramatic rise in human smuggling activities as
thousands of Central American migrants
continue to make their way north. Mexican
officials predicted a dramatic rise in migratory
flows at the start of 2021 due to work
shortages from the pandemic and recent
natural disasters that shook Central America.
Officials in Mexico did not publicly discuss the
political effect that a Biden Administration
would have on the matter.
Mexican authorities have found several large groups of migrants at hotels or being moved in tractor-trailers in recent weeks. Officials are also seeing a spike in ransom kidnappings where cartel-connected human smugglers hold migrants to further extort their families.
