GOP Rep. Cline: Biden ‘AWOL’ in Debt Ceiling Negotiations — ‘You Can’t Just Sit There Like a Spoiled Child, Stomp Your Feet and Say No Deal’
Monday, during an appearance on FBN’s “Mornings with Maria,” Rep. Ben Cline (R-VA) criticized the Biden administration’s lack of participation in the debt ceiling negotiations.
According to the Virginia Republican lawmaker, the Biden administration’s approach was akin to that of a “spoiled child.”
“What are you expecting from Kevin McCarthy?” host Maria Bartiromo said. “What are you expecting this to look like as it plays out? We know that the Biden Administration has yet to come to the table with any ideas of spending cuts.”
“They are AWOL in these negotiations, Maria, and you can’t just sit there like a spoiled child, stomp your feet and say no deal,” Clinr replied. “That’s what the president is doing right now. Kevin McCarthy is the adult in the room. He’s coming to New York. He, just as Ronald Reagan did so many years ago, he’s going to be speaking to the New York Stock Exchange. He’s going to be talking about how we have to limit the growth in government. We have to save taxpayer dollars and how we have to grow the economy.
“And we have great solutions that we’re putting forward,” he continued. “But the president really needs to engage in this process because our economy and our markets will take a hit if he refuses to deal on this debt ceiling increase.

1) Biden abruptly pulled all U.S. troops from Afghanistan. He left behind to the Taliban hundreds of Americans and thousands of pro-American Afghans. Biden abandoned billions of dollars in U.S. equipment, the most extensive air base in central Asia – recently retrofitted for $300 million – and a $1 billion embassy. Our government called such a debacle a success. The world disagreed and saw only humiliation.
2) The Biden administration allowed a Chinese high-altitude spy balloon to traverse the continental United States, spying on key American military installations. The Chinese were defiant when caught and offered no apologies. In response, the Pentagon and the administration simply lied about how China had surveilled top-secret sites.
3) In March 2021, at an Anchorage, Alaska mini-summit, Chinese diplomats unleashed a relentless barrage at their stunned and mostly silent American counterparts. They lectured the timid Biden administration diplomats about American toxicity and hypocrisy. And they have defiantly refused to explain why and how their virology lab birthed the COVID-19 virus that has killed tens of millions worldwide.
4) In June 2021, in response to Russian cyber-attacks against the United States, Biden meekly asked Russian President Vladimir Putin to at least make off-limits specific critical American infrastructure.
5) When asked what he would do if Russia invaded Ukraine, Biden replied that the reaction would depend on whether the Russians conducted a “minor incursion.”
6) Between 2021 and 2022, Biden serially insulted and bragged that he would not meet Muhammad bin Salman, the de facto ruler of Saudi Arabia, and one of our oldest and most valuable allies in the Middle East.
7) For much of 2021, the Biden administration announced that it was eager and ready to offer concessions to re-enter the dangerous Iran nuclear deal – when Iran has joined China and Russia in a new geostrategic partnership.
8) Almost immediately upon inauguration, the administration moved the United States away from Israel, restored financial aid to radical Palestinians, and publicly and privately alienated the current Netanyahu government.
9) In serial fashion, Biden stopped all construction on the border wall and opened the border. During the 2019 Democratic presidential primary, Biden made it known that illegal aliens were welcome to enter the United States – some 6-7 million did. He reinstated “catch and release.” And he did nothing about the Mexican cartel importation of fentanyl that has recently killed over 100,000 Americans per year.
10) In the last two years, the Pentagon has embarked on a woke agenda. The army is short by 15,000 in its annual recruitment quota. The defense budget has not kept up with inflation. One of the most significant intelligence leaks in U.S. history just occurred from the Pentagon.
The Pentagon refused to admit culpability and misled the country about Afghanistan and the Chinese spy balloon flight. The current chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff called his Chinese communist counterpart and head of the People’s Liberation Army to advise him that the U.S. military would warn the Chinese if it determined an order from its commander-in-chief, former President Donald Trump, was inappropriate.
This list of these self-inflicted disasters could be easily expanded.
But the examples explain well enough why our emboldened enemies do not fear us, our triangulating allies judge us unreliable, and calculating neutrals assume America is in descent and too dangerous to join.
Yet without America, the result is a new Chinese order in which, to quote the historian Thucydides, “The strong do what they can, and the weak suffer what they must.”

The President pretends to be Catholic but clearly does not live by Catholic tenets. He supports abortion up until the moment of birth. This past week, he sent a cease-and-desist letter to the priests who have been ministering to Catholic patients at Walter Reed Hospital. He intends to contract outside persons to provide Catholic ministry. While VP, he supported the persecution of the Little Sisters of the Poor for refusing to provide abortion services to their employees. In short, he is about as Catholic and Christian as Nancy Pelosi, another faux Catholic, a classic elitist who has nothing but contempt for actual Catholics, actual Christians.
There are years of evidence, including from Biden’s own daughter’s diary, that Biden is a pedophile or at least has pedophilic tendencies. He cannot keep his hands off young female children; he fondles and sniffs them. Tara Reade’s account of his molestation of her years ago is credible. The man is pond scum.
Whenever he speaks of his deceased son Beau, who died of a brain tumor, he blames his death on the burn pits of Iraq where Beau served 2008 - 2009. That could be true. How does one explain, then, his total and complete lack of interest in the train derailment that subjected the citizens of East Palestine, Ohio, to the consequences of a de facto burn pit? Ro Khanna (D-CA) stated that he is open to ending China’s most-favored nation trade status and that giving the status to China along with their membership in the World Trade Organization hasn’t worked, “because they’re not playing by the rules.”
Host Maria Bartiromo asked, “I’m wondering what you believe the U.S. has in terms of leverage here, because right now we know that the CCP has most-favored nation status when it comes to trade. Congressman, is that one of the levers that you could pull to keep the CCP in check? Would you pursue removing that most-favored nation status for China’s trade?”
Khanna responded, “I’m open to it. And I certainly think we have a lot of leverage. We’re the customer. We’re the buyer. We’re — they’re far more dependent on us buying than we are on them. I am certainly open to strategic tariffs, to making sure that they’re not dumping. And I have said that the president should have a clear goal, let’s have a trade balance with China by the end of the decade. … They don’t buy from us and we buy from them. This is why I don’t understand why TikTok is even an issue, of course, they should be forced to sell it. They don’t allow any of our tech companies in there. They don’t allow Twitter, they don’t allow Facebook, they don’t allow Snap. So why should we have an unreciprocal relationship? I guess we need to insist on the economic relationship being balanced.”
Bartiromo then asked, “Do you think that comes to the floor any time soon to remove the most-favored nation status?”
Khanna answered, “It is something that our committee is exploring and we’re going to have unanimous recommendations. I know that there was a manufacturing council that recommended that. … I actually think you can get bipartisan consensus that the most-favored status and World Trade Organization [membership] of China didn’t work, because they’re not playing by the rules.”

Khanna answered, “It is something that our committee is exploring and we’re going to have unanimous recommendations. I know that there was a manufacturing council that recommended that. … I actually think you can get bipartisan consensus that the most-favored status and World Trade Organization [membership] of China didn’t work, because they’re not playing by the rules.”

In a total coincidence that could not possibly have been related in any way to Feinstein’s friendship with the tyrants of Beijing, her husband did a great deal of lucrative business with Chinese companies, including entities run by the Communist government and linked to the People’s Liberation Army (PLA).
One of those deals saw Blum becoming a major investor in a computer company that was founded by researchers from the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), an institution tied to both the Chinese government and the PLA. The company was originally called Legend, but is better known by its second name, Lenovo.

Lenovo grew into a major player in the worldwide computer marketplace after it acquired IBM’s line of personal computer products in 2005. Lenovo’s deal to buy IBM’s business included $350 million in investments from three American private equity firms. One of them was Richard Blum’s Newbridge Capital.
Some lawmakers worried Lenovo’s purchase of IBM’s personal computer line could jeopardize U.S. national security and transfer advanced American computer technology to China. Sen. Dianne Feinstein, who sat on the Senate Intelligence Committee at the time, was not one of them.
It did not take long for security agencies across the Western world — including the U.S., U.K., Canada, New Zealand, and Australia — to discover security vulnerabilities in Lenovo products and ban them from sensitive operations. The U.S. State Department announced it would not allow Lenovo computers to connect to its classified networks in 2006, barely a year after the IBM acquisition.
Somehow Lenovo still managed to sell a large number of laptop computers to the U.S. military, which discovered that many of those machines included motherboard chips that “would record all the data that was being inputted into that laptop and send it back to China,” as a computer operations manager for the U.S. Marines in Iraq put it.
A year after that testimony was delivered, Blum sold his stake in Lenovo.

· News of a Chinese spy working for U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein broke recently, revealing the spy was employed by Feinstein for 20 years.
· Initially reported as part of a larger story about spies in Silicon Valley, a former intelligence official later revealed that the staffer was Feinstein’s driver for many years.
· The source told the San Francisco Chronicle that the driver passed information to Chinese officials based at the local Chinese Consulate. Part of the staffer’s role was acting as a liaison between Feinstein’s San Francisco office and the local consulate.
· The staffer was recruited to spy after visiting China.
· The staffer, who has not been named, worked for Feinstein for 20 years.

· San Francisco and Shanghai have been sister cities for 38 years, after the agreement was put into place by Feinstein and Jiang, who was then Shanghai’s mayor. Feinstein was cited as having a “close relationship” with Jiang and ties between the two continued for many years later.
· Jiang is infamous for cracking down on human rights, most notoriously by banning the peaceful meditation practice of Falun Gong and throwing many of its estimated 100 million adherents into jail.
